Lovely waiter, don’t remember he’s name, very polite and nice customer service

Had a very enjoyable lunch for two. Specials menu was reasonably priced. Staff and venue top class.

I reserved to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, the service was a 10/10, the servers were very warm and attentive, and the food was delicious. It was worth the price and my boyfriend and I had a beautiful experience ☺️

Very cosy with a lovely vibe and atmosphere. On our visit we were shown to our table and looked after by Karolina who was very helpful. The food was excellent and would definitely return again if in the area 👍

Mum and l popped in here today. We usually just have tea and coffee, but today we fancied a snack. Mum and tye French Onion soup, and l had the Camembert brulee. Both were excellent. Tasty, filing, nicely presented. The staff were all very friendly. The place itself has very warm atmosphere and is very clean. It's always a pleasure to go here.

Amazing amazing amazing soon as we walked through the door from being greeted to being served. Great service by all staff made to feel nothing would have been an issue. I have a chilli allergy and was made to feel that this was not an issue and felt very well looked after with this. What can I say about the food absolutely amazing had the beef cheek Bourgogne and my girlfriend had the vegan burger both can't fault. Our waiter was funny, engaging and so so helpful. Can't say enough about this restaurant our second time here and it's been impressive.

My daughter had eaten there before so recommended it for my wife’s birthday meal. The whole experience at Cote was positive, food & wine was excellent, we’ll definitely dine there again.

Pleasant place with excellent service (Charlie). We ordered the rib eye steak - very juicy and succulent. The chicken dish was perfectly cooked. The potatoes were very tasty. Nice atmosphere. Very worthwhile coming here for lunch.

I had a vegetarian breakfast, asked for fried eggs and came boiled eggs, the patty was disgusting and the breakfast was served with boiled potatoes??what??I left everything on the plate. Unfortunately is a one time restaurant.

Ate here recently and was very disappointed with how much it had gone downhill. The experience was not pleasant. Came along as part of a group of friends. I was pleased to see that food allergies and intolerances were taken seriously but then left to navigate my way around the menu with no alternatives or substitutes offered for my intolerance. It was basically ‘that’s what you get, get on with it.’ The portions were smaller than usual and the flavour just wasn’t there. The service was intense as waiting staff appeared and disappearing half way through orders. I was left with a menu and an allergens list for 25 minuses to decide which dessert I wanted. The waiter didn’t return so I had to go and find someone to place my order with. I found our waiter at the bar laughing with his colleagues, the restaurant was empty apart from our table and one other. The waiter who hadn’t returned then gave me attitude ‘Ok darling’ with an eye roll towards his colleagues, when I asked if I could please place my order . All in all a disappointing experience. I didn’t leave a review at Christmas when my friends and I turned up for our Christmas get together to be told that the booking didn’t exist. 🤷‍♀️

This was by far the best place I have ever eaten in my life. I wish it was an exaggeration but my mom and I talked about it an hour after the meal and almost didn’t say a word during the meal because we were so preoccupied by the amazing flavors. Could not recommend this place enough.

Place is ok. The food was not great. but for the price I guess not a major issue. The steak frits steak is incredibly tough. Almost like a piece of rubber. But the biggest let down of entire experience was that when it came to paying the bill we get Informed that they don't accept cash. I'm sorry but they are not based In A central London tech hub, they are based in a village and maybe they should make it much clearer from the beginning about not accepting cash. Ruined the entire experience. Customer service was ok until it came to payment and then it became bad with staff not being empathetic to our surprise at not being able to pay in cash and the staff proceeded to play the victim in the situation when it was actually us the willing paying customers who had been confronted with this drama at the end of the meal through no fault of our own. But it seemed the staff were more annoyed than us considering we had our entire meal ruined. In the end someone paid by card for us and we gave the cash. Just a terrible experience at the End of an ok meal. We had kids with us as well and could do without this added drama.. by rights we should have refused to pay for the meal after the service was ruined yet here we were willing and wanting to pay including service charge and we got attitude and drama. It's one thing refusing cash but to then annoy customers who very well intentioned simply offered to pay in cash is ridiculous. Especially we are from France and in other countries not accepting cash is virtually unheard of, so this came as a huge surprise. Please make it clear right from the beginning and make staff tell customers before ordering. We were told it says it on the menu but I'm sorry with 2 kids just trying to order food is hard enough without looking through all the wording to see where it says no cash. This is discrimination also to people who can't read and given that we are french it was normal we couldn't read this part. So this is also discrimination by cote. In facT I can't see where on menu it says it's doesn't accept cash. Not clear in site either. Please tell your staff to make clear before customer order meal. We are not yet a cashless society and some people would still expect to pay in cash!

Just celebrated my daughters 9th birthday here, was amazing food and table service was great! They went above and beyond for my daughter and her friend, Lovely people they were all so cheerful and classy, Thank You for a lovely evening.

A lovely meal with friends. The waiter was attentive and service was excellent. We received a complimentary dessert for my birthday. It was a nice way to celebrate with great food and great company, thank you to the staff at Cote Bishop's Stortford.

Been coming to Cote since moving to Stortford in 2018. It is a good place to have meetings 1:1 and/or with much larger groups; they are very accommodating. The coffee and food are of a decent quality standard, fresh ingredients and several options to select from. At our most recent visit, we opted to take advantage of the beautiful evening and sit in the back garden and it was unfortunate when my seven year old son noted the two tables next to us were smoking cigarettes and the smoke was wafting over to our table. He was bothered by the second hand smoke, which meant we took our leave not long after.

Nice place for lunch and reasonably priced. My food was excellent but my wife's less so. Wine was nice. It was very quiet largely down to our mid afternoon choice to eat.

We stopped outside Côte as we were travelling through the town on our way to another venue and spotted a parking space.. we went in and just wanted some coffee and pastries and were welcomed by the wonderful Rosie.. a lovely smile and a perfect server.. the food & drinks were very good but our welcome was exceptional!

I've enjoyed dining in other Cotes and this place did not disappoint. The food was very good as expected, along with the very good service.

We visited CÔTE a couple of weeks ago with 2 friends. 2 ordered the beef cheeks which were good, 1 had the fillet steak which was good & 1 had the sirloin steak which was chewy & flavourless. I asked for my sirloin to be cooked medium which indeed it was, however it was chewy & lacking in flavour. It looked like rump steak. When asked if we enjoyed the food I told our waiter that the steak was tough & he apologised, however this was not reflected in the bill. There was no discount, nor were we offered a free drink or dessert/coffee to make up for the disappointing steak. If you want customers to return & recommend your restaurant to others then please treat customers with more consideration, if they complain about the food do something about it, just saying “sorry” is not good enough.

I have a few food allergies and all the servers were very helpful and knowledgeable about what I could eat and had lovely recommendations. We had Joe has our main waiter and he was a blast, very attentive with empty plates and glasses, very cheerful and funny. Very good at up selling as well, but never felt pressured just a good personal recommendation. I would highly recommend the food, atmosphere and our lovely waiter.

Perfect evening meal at Cote Bishop Stortford! The meal was very tasty. The service was first class. I did not get the name of our Waitor. We believe he is French?My apologies if he is not. He was attentive,polite hard working and delivered the best service I've had in a restaurant in a longtime. It was my birthday and they brought me a desert and sang happy birthday 😊

Haven’t been back here for years but was pleasantly surprised as had been refitted to an excellent standard, atmosphere was great!, food was excellent and the service great, great manager there as well (tall) sorry didn’t get his name also Joe!

We love our local Cote. We don't go too often, but it is always a go- to when we want a date night or when family comes to visit. The staff are beyond lovely, so friendly and welcoming and always make my family feel special when we bring them here for dinner. They are excellent about managing allergy-free food, too, with gluten free bread and a large gluten free menu.

Amazingly friendly and efficient service. Food excellent and could not fault it. When they over-heard it was one of our birthdays, they came out with a suprise. Thank you for a really enjoyable evening.

Visit on a regular basis. Sometimes just for coffee and others for lunch with friends. Good menu. They do only take cards for payment, no cash. Can get noisey when really busy.

Lovely cafe with a great menu. There is plenty of seating space, so you are not sitting on top of people. Waitresses are friendly and I found it a lovely experience and would definitely go back.

Found this place because it was out of the way from big city London and Close to Stansted Aiport. The waitress was super attentive and polite. The food was food and filling we had two of the Côte Burgers, charcuterie Board, fouginess (garlic Bread), Beef Bouginess and Mushroom Bouginess. l appreciated the place playing cultural music rather than some local station.

We had a very enjoyable evening and there was nothing we would change. It was relaxed and very comfortable with great food drinks and service. Thank you

I have always had a great experience when I visit Cotè in Stortford.

I’m a stickler for cleanliness. Even if the food were to be garbage, a clean place would get my approval. Extraordinarily clean, even in the hidden corners. Food was well above average.

Went with family for my birthday. I was given a complimentary Kir Royale when we got there. We all had the set menu and loved it. Such good value. Staff were attentive, and good was lovely. Will definitely go back.

We went for lunch - staff were lovely; super friendly and helpful for dietary restrictions. Loved it - food was fabulous -GF onion soup - wow and the fish parmentier for me cannot recommend enough and my husband is STILL talking about the toulouse sausages in the diots and the beef bourgignon - we will definitely be returning - dinner next time! Thank you for a fabulous lunch 🤩 oh and the wine was great too - merlot 👍

We ate here this weekend. It took over 40 minutes to get our food, which was not acceptable. However, this is where the restaurant came through. The service staff considered this lateness in a significant reduction in our bill - it's great to see empowered staff focused on the customer. And the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend the fish stew!

Oh my goodness…Côte Bishops Stortford was amazing in hosting my sisters baby brunch at the beginning of November! Andrew the manager was incredible in the lead up to it, allowing the planning to run as smoothly as possible! They were so accommodating to our every need! And Christine was absolutely amazing on the day…she was kind, professional and attentive! Nothing was too much of an ask for her! Food and drink was fabulous and the congratulations pain au chocolate was an extra special touch! Thank you so so much Côte Bishops Stortford!

I recently dined at Côte restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food quality fell short of expectations, with flavors that seemed lackluster and uninspired. The “fresh pressed orange juice” tasted exactly like the Tropicana, and took 1minute to be made. They must have a special machine hide in the kitchen. Additionally, the service was subpar, leaving the overall atmosphere feeling cold and unwelcoming. What further added to my dissatisfaction was the high price tag attached to the meal. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Côte, there are more warm and welcome places in Bishops Stortford

As a party of five we were a little disappointed- the restaurant only had one other table and then a large party in the back and despite this, they didn't accommodate us onto a nicer table (it was right by the entrance which they must have done to not make the restaurant look empty but was cold for us when the door was opened). We had booked Cote because of a birthday offer for a free bottle of Cremant- when we told the waitress she seemed disbelieving and scrutinised the email and then spent a while with her colleague before coming back to inform us it was okay (even though it was on the booking). The food was a little disappointing (the minute steak was bland whereas the chicken liver parfait was tasty) and we ordered dessert where they brought a chocolate mousse/ganache out for the birthday girl. We all thought the other had ordered it for her but no one had and they put it on the bill too!

A decent meal, well presented. Towards the end of the meal I did feel a little pressured to leave, even though the table reservation was for 1.5 hours, and it had been little over an hour. It wasn't enough to spoil the evening though, particularly as I was well aware it was a Saturday night and the place was filling up

Visited cote at Bishops Stortford early evening midweek and enjoyed a main course and dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and the service staff were friendly and professional. My one minor complaint was the volume of chatter, which was not the fault of people being excessively noisy but due to the tiled floor, which made everything echo.

Fuimos a probar un desayuno típico Ingles y fue estupendo. Éramos 4 personas y pedimos solo dos, todo buenísimo y los camareros muy majetes. Probamos en otros sitios y nada que ver, lo recomiendo al 100%.

Very nice lunch in the sun in their outdoor seating area at the back of the restaurant. Good selection of food and a nice selection of French beers. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cheers..

Lovely spot, food and hospitality

Just updating my review. The Cote management took my comments seriously and showed they care about their customers. I think this speaks volumes for their brand and I have upgraded my review to four stars. I will go back in the near future.

16 April went for my partner’s birthday. Lady who “greeted us” was very cold. Although i booked a table and restaurant was almost empty she offered us a table in the darkest place of restaurant on walkway. I asked for another table if is possible. With bad attitude she asked where I want to sit then? Food average. Been In few Cote restaurants before in london (warder street, tower bridge) nothing near it. Waiter who served was very friendly and professional.

Great food, served hot as it should be...and very attentive staff. The Muscadet is excellent and very good value.

The new Monkfish Normande is to die for! Service was up to standard too, another very positive experience

The best place to eat in Bishops Stortford service is always impeccable and the tip actually goes to the crew.

I used to enjoy a meal at Cote and whilst they have worked hard at including a selection of free from meals its the staff that let's this particular branch down. They don't listen and some are quite opinionated

Great place for lunch. The staff are great and just the right amount of attentiveness. Food is good as expected. Disappointed they didn't have creme caramel on the menu but not a showstopper. Will be back again for sure.

Had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. A special night for my wife and I , as it’s 14 years since we first met. Food and service were both excellent. Our waitress Nicole was very pleasant, professional and attentive.

The mushroom pâté was okish but the Moving Mountain Vegan burger was really really good, and I've tried a lot of vegan burgers, nicely cooked and well dressed too. Great easy going and friendly service also from Stephano, pleasure to be in your hands 👌🏼.

Lovely breakfast, good service. I don't like that they add 12.5% service charge! Check your bills as we were over charged us for two extra coffees.
