Costa Coffee Victoria Hospital in Fife

This cafe is a godsend to visitors and in patients of Victoria Hospital. The service is usually very good and there are always seats to be had despite the place being very busy. It was very important to me and my family when i was a patient here as it meant I was able to get away from the ward for a little while and also have private conversations with my family and friends,

For me, Costa have become complacent. Not just here at Victoria Hospital but all over the UK. I ordered a halloumi and chargrilled vegetable toastie and a chai latte. The chargrilled toastie was barely cooked, when I took it back and asked them to give it another blast the bloke asked me if I'd asked it to be well done, I said I hadn't but it's barely been warmed up, the bread was still floppy. When he did return the toastie it was not much better - chargrilled my foot! As for my chai latte it was way too spicy. I'm not sure how much "aromatic spices" they were meant to pour in but it was way too much. Add to the disappointing food and drink there was no napkins. The bloke said they've been ordered. But I've noticed in other Costas a shortage of napkins. This is definitely deliberate.

While service and products are excellent they fail on cleanliness of tables. All tables are promptly cleared when people leave but the servers do not wipe down any of them as they go which in a hospital especially should be paramount

ABSOLUTELY NO GLUTEN FREE FOOD EXCEPT A BROWNIE...I am Coeliac so im am GF not by choice...wondering how many visitors go hunger.. find it almost unbelievable in a hospital this size that no effort has been made to cater for people with rhis disease.

I’m in and out of hospital a lot so I go down to costa a lot for there delicious hot chocolate, and there toasties. Being disabled the staff are absolutely brilliant. They could be busy but still have time to make sure you get you order. But quite recently it’s gone down hill. It’s just the simple things like having no gas fit the cream so you can’t get a decent Frappecino or cream on your hot chocolate. But don’t let that spoil it for as it’s still the best costs I have visited. The staff are amazing and actually make time for. Today is cake for £1 today so i could be down a few times today!

While waiting for my partner I sat in the Costa cafe with a superb cappuccino and a tray bake . What a difference from the old hospital cafe , Plenty of tables but they are a bit on the small side . A busy place serving a lot of carry outs as well

Very rude service today when I was feeling unwell after a nasty procedure. I was shouted at and told to stand back as there were a lot of other people waiting for coffee. There were only TWO PEOPLE,

This place is so handy if you are accompanying someone to the hospital - several times we have been in this situation during the Covid pandemic and had to sit in the car, whereas now it's opened up again it's lovely to sit and have a coffee and snack whilst waiting. Great place!

Four times I had to say to the woman who could hardly u understand English and if was when I said loudly do you want somebody to get burnt they eventually changed cup as lid would not fit faulty cup. Now charging £3.75 for a large capachinio starting to become a tad expensive

Excellent service, other Costas could learn so much from the staff in here. Complete fluidity in service and first class staff.

Busy place used by patients, staff and visitors. Service is quick and staff are very helpful. I was attending physio and was on crutches, the staff would take my order and bring it over to my table. At peak times, tables may be left uncleared.

Cafe is really lovely nice decor.Price reasonable.Best hot chocolate.We always go there when have hospital appointment.

You can’t fault this branch of costas. VERY slick and staff very friendly and accommodating. The queue today was big but the staff zipped through it !

Had the misfortune to spend several weeks at vhk visiting sick relative. What a great team in Costa.Great service, always a friendly face and regularly went that bit extra to provide us with ice. Greatly appreciated at a difficult time.

Very busy and expensive with a captive audience as most customers are attending appointments or waiting on relatives.l much preferred the WRVS cafeteria.

Have price and better Coffee upstairs in the RVS restaurant, just ask at reception the will show you the way, better service as well, and it’s for a charity

Visited here while waiting in the for the gf at the hospital. On first appearance it is clean , plenty seats very open, lots of natural light, very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and greeted me immediately. While the food and drink was perfectly fine( has a croissant and a cup of tea as well as a little chocolate egg nest thing), what really stood out was the fantastic attitude of the staff. Not only were they quick and efficient in the taking of orders etc but the way they interact with each other and the customers is proffessional but not in a way that makes you feel rushed . This positive attitude is something i believe is greatly appreciated by the customers here.As this location is in a hospital i do not doubt a few people are anxious about loved ones who may be admitted here , So the great service and personality shown by the staff will do alot to put their minds at ease. Keep up the good work guys :)

This is not the cheapest coffee/snack place to visit! Millionaire shortbread at just under two pounds being one example. However, the quality of of coffee is very good and service excellent. Plenty of seating space and it's warm! Overall a good experience, just watch out for the price of those little chocolate goodies!

I visited this Costa outlet today whilst waiting for my 3 yr old granddaughter to come back from attending an appointment for tests at the hospital.

when my friend was in hospital this was the place to go I love their coffee but I do feel that it is expensive especially in a hospital. The staff did annoy a lot of people as they close sections off and clean the floors it makes you feel uncomfortable. The hospital should have put a cheaper place there but can't be changed now. The staff are not good they are always messing around and talking amongst themselves not good especially when it is really busy

I came here for panini and a hot drink when I was admitted into hospital as the food provided was sometimes not to my taste. This Costa is more expensive than their other outlets which is exploitation as they know people will buy it anyway and even though we bought the same thing on a few visits the prices differered, it was like they made them up as they went along!

Came here as I was visiting a relative and it was a ong day so went here for coffee and snack the toastie was burnt coffee was good ,but found it very expensive

Coffee was a lifesaver after an emergency dash to the hospital. Had a toasted sandwich too.Prices ok, staff ok, americano was ok too. Bit as good as the costa up at next in the retail park. Staff could do with a trip up there to learn a thing or two.

I feel the coffee here is better than the Costa at the retail park where the latte is really weak , seem to be stronger here don't know why . Very good staff .

Loved the toasted sandwich, hated the bland hot chocolate. Absolutely not the same standard as other costas I've been in recently. Consistent for all 3 hot chocolates ordered so not a one off. Shame. The rest of the experience was good.

Food is good and coffee excellent. A bit pricey but you would expect that being in the hospital itself. Can have long queues at the obvious lunchtime and dinner time.

Fairly standard as you would expect. Barista is the loudest guy ever. Gives the place a good cheer actually and speeds up the rest of the staff.

Si te encuentras en el Hospital de Victoria la Costa aquí es bastante dam buena! Como todas estas articulaciones de café no es barato, pero el café y la comida es deliciosa y el servicio es excelente!

Mejor que Costa localmente por el espacio, variedad y servicio. Gran café y bocadillos. Sentado aquí todo lo que quisieras... no hay prisa. Prensa también. Buena relación calidad-precio.

As this is in the main hall of a busy hospital it can be very noisy as everyone attending hospital have to pass you. Most of the Drs and staff use this so it can be busy during daytime week days. Not so bad evenings and weekends. Very nice place but would only go if I had to as you have patients sitting next to you with drips in and dressing gowns on not so good for infection control. Up stairs is the WRVS and its quiet and cheaper and lots more choice as its a shop as well. WH smith is next to Costa but the other one is cheaper and just as much choice.

My partner and I were here for a few hours in December. We ordered two hot chocolate with some of the extra toppings. It was really tasty But u quite expensive but it is a costa after all. The only bad thing about it is that the staff couldn't keep up with the tables so there were people cleaning their table before sitting down and ordering. I will use again next hospital trip

I was very down at having to come to Hospital and was astonished and delighted to find there was a Costa.The Staff were so friendly and welcoming.The tables were spotless and the nearby toilets clean.The delicious coffees and fresh pastry so cheered me up!Normally I would say I will be back.I hope I am not but this Costa was just superb!!

The staff in here are second to none. They work extremely hard. They are always happy and smiling. The place is always tidy and clean. You can't ask for more

The tables are always dirty, the don't have a fly catcher and the cakes are uncovered plus the floor is disgusting by the unit where you get the sugar and wooden stirrers. I just think for how much some stuff is it should be clean. It wouldn't take long at the end of the night to do the tables n floor. Also I keep thinking I that's what the fronts like, what's it like in the back. Its costa employees who are in charge of their cleaning not the hospital domestics!

As its in the hospital it has an advantage better with the ladies of the WI coffee and sandwiched very expensive and its a bit impersonal and ultra modern to relax in with plastic everywere. Staff so so but overall I did not use it again.

We recently visited a friend at this hospital and were so glad to have a coffee and relax after a distressing visit!! I think the whole idea of having a coffee before or after a visit is great!

This Coffee House is very badly needed on a visit to hospital. One can sit and relax with a lovely cup of coffee also a very good menu of something to eat, if needed, and sit, relax and watch people going about hospital it certainly helps to take your mind off why one is there. Everything is very good, relaxing and clean, staff are very friendly also

Always busy, due to the passing and resident customers. Often pop in when visiting people at the hospital. Staff cheery considering their location. Open seating is plentiful. No different to any other Costa as it is a chain cafe. Expensive for snacks and cakes. Parking is a problem at visiting times for obvious reasons.

expensive and very busy ,I THINK THE MANAGER had too much coffee as he was hyper , I asked to buy a costa gift card but was told they do not sell them at that location !

I work at the Vic and visit the Costa every day. The staff are brilliant, Andrew and Raj are stars and they have a great team. The coffee is fantastic and of course they know my order so its ready in seconds. I am always disappointed when I visit other Costas because the Vic is the best!

Very nice staff here , friendly chatty and helpful . Great coffee as always and no problems finding a table as it is pretty big compared to the other Costas in town .

I was totally disappointed with this costa service was very slow and also very bad mannered when I did actually get my toasted sandwich it was basically thrown down on the table to me will defo not go back there again poor showing

Costa at vicoria hospital is great if you are visiting or even just passing through . Coffee is always great and their wafer biscuits are definitely worth a try. In a great location within the hospital too .

Visited a relative in hospital on Friday 9th and decided to go for a coffee after visiting. Staff were friendly but the facilities were awful. Water all over the floor, the drip tray on the coffee machine was disgusting, full of residue water and milk. I'm not sure how these franchises work but if I were in charge of hygeine at this hospital I would have insisted it be closed down until a deep clean was completed. I think it's time for the owners to spend some time and money updating this coffee shop. Come on Costa....get your act together.

I'm a regular here. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Reasonable atmosphere considering its in a hospital. Well worth a visit.

Had a speciality latte and it was very good , they do a few different flavours but I opted for hazelnut and it was really nice for a change. Will go back and try the others soon .

I work at the VHK so use costa 5 days a week , staff always friendly ( Andy , Nat , Raj and everyone else that I see daily) 5 out of 5 , can't fault , always eager for your comments , food and coffee fantastic , thanks costa staff x

Currently visiting family and using Costa when it is open? Seems to be run by a bunch of "youngsters" who tend sometimes to close before the proper time ..... asked for a latte to sit in around 19:30 to be told "can't give you a proper cup as we are closing .... Had to get a takeaway cup .... wha??? This has happened to other members of my family as well. Closed the shutter before 20:00 the other night? Not sure if it's 20:00 or 20:30 close as it is not consistent. A bit frustrating but other than that it's Costa Coffee.

Unfortunately broke wrist and had quite a few visits to physio.Who incidently are a great bunch.My husband just sat in had a coffee and a read ar his paper waiting on me.Staff always asked how I was made it more of a social occasion.

I ordered a decaf latte, medium with half fat milk, What i was offered was, large regular latte with full fat milk, medium regular latte with half hat milk, large decaf with full fat milk, then finally I talked the girl through my order, Medium cup, decaf latte with Half Fat milk PLEASE. The waiting time in the queue was beyond a joke and there is way too much busyness at the till and servery point. It would be helpful if there were actual english speaking assistants working there tho. The coffee was lovely once I finally got it tho. Very pricey, dont understand where they got their price list from. I also bought a bakewell slice , in the shape of a finger pre packed. This was good but cost over £2 so also very pricey. Might actually look for the W.R.V.S. cafe next time. After all, they served me very well for years.
