Costa Coffee Thornton Heath in Croydon

Really bad experience at costa coffee now. We came to the store at 04:00 pm and asked for cakes and coffee. They didn’t give us coffee in a dine in cup and cakes in a plate even we were dine in. When we asked for plate they said they are closing soon ( actually at 05:30) and they don’t want to wash anything. This was ridiculous. We never experienced any this kind of poor customer service in any other brands.

Staff are nice but there are a few bad things about this branch. I’ve been a customer for years so here’s what makes me choose another branch over this one. 1. Be prepared to be interrupted by numerous homeless beggars while having your coffee. 2. Seats and sofas are particularly deteriorating and/or stained dirty. 3. Toilets are usually dirty and are frequented by randoms and sus people.

Despite me editing my address to include exactly where the building is located, the driver followed satnav to the wrong address.

Customers were being interrupted by a man asking for money repeatedly while I was there.

Quick and efficient service, decent coffee would recommend thank you all!

Not a fan, normally, but our Internet went down so went to use free WiFi. Service quick, friendly and there were people reading and working, so quiet atmosphere.

Today I walked into this "establishment", simply for a tea something to warm me up before my journey. I asked for the tea and the girl behind the counter proceeded to make the tea without any regard for me whatsoever. She also decided to have a conversation with her colleague whilst rubbing her dirty fingers around the rim of the cup and the lid. The girl had her back to me whilst she gave me the tea and carried on with her conversation. After this I went to get some sugar and the area was ABSOLUTELY FILTHY with spilt sugar and drink stains. Luckily I was able to get a cup from another shop. This environment is sad and lacks any energy. I would rather be thirsty than come here again 😒

Visited this costa today, 5/11/24, at 9 am and to my surprise the line was long with only one girl serving us all. The girl with the long braid was rapid and polite, Ammarah if I remember correctly. I’m used to seeing two workers handle this load. As I got closer to the front and was the last customer in line, the other worker then decided to help. She should have been there from the start- not a team player!!!

Nice clean large branch of Costa, great place to chill. Or if you need to use the toilet but don't wanna leave without buying anything. Either way, good spot.

Never in my life that I’d think a Costa store would be this bad. got served a cake with a fly in it DEAD. and my drink wrong. staff in there unprofessional and young kids. Need a cleaner in store rotten toilet never come here save your money soon will be shut down

I took my mum there for coffee. The staff even in a not busy time can't even bring the hot drinks over to you. The drinks were fine. The toilets were disgusting and not kept clean. Despite there being a code on the door they are not kept clean. I would never visit this Costa branch again.

My server maimoona was so sweet made my drink with love. She was so kind as well she should definitely get a raise !!

They NEVER have any of the plant based food or cakes 🙃 like EVER… so if you’re vegan and need a quick snack with your coffee , this isn’t the place.

No starts would be more appropriate upon entering I thought I was walking in to a youth club waiting time and drink were terrible not using milk jugs properly wow this really is a joke has Costa decided thornton doesn't deserve the proper customer services but we can happily pay your prices wow I overherd a gentleman saying should film and put on you tube for likes because the store was run so bad till did not even work gentleman and young lady had big smile on faces as if days over place is a joke I hope this is not what Costa thinks is appropriate customer service so astonished

I just ordered delivery worth £15, I received 2 bottles of water instead of my order and when I contacted about this I was denied any refund. You can come and pick up your overpriced water!

Always have issues with items including milk being out of stock, staff don't know how to speak to customers and openly moan about their day

Friendly atmosphere, nice coffee and snacks with happy staff. A great place to chat and enjoy a break.

Ordered One Sausage and One Bacon Bap and got Two Sausage Baps.

Clean, nice staff, free wifi and good selection of goodies to eat

The food was Cold the hot Drink was cold. The person did at least 2 deliveries before mine went in the opersite direction when doing other deliveries and was on a push bike, Not impressed at all. This is not the first time lately

Costa is my favourite coffee shop and the Thornton Heath branch has a lovely team of batistas.

They never have the right straws for frappe which means you can't drink the bubble one, when I asked they gave me a spoon...

Loved the place, had a pink lemonade which was perfect for this hot summer weather. The staff were kind and very attentive. Great place to chill and get work done

I ordered three things and just got the coffee. No apology or substitutes. Very poor service.

Cold coffee and the place is dirty and poorly maintained.

Cleaning is not good here. I sometimes have to clean my own table. They also charged me extra compared to other costa stores.

I didn't like iced latte. It's different than usual. And I didn't receive vegan brownie, but cookie instead.

Very rude staff, no respect to customers. I arrived 10 minutes before the clousing time there and they told me that they not going to serve and I need to go out. I just wanted to have one take way coffee and thats it. I don’t recommend this place.

Driver turned up and said he couldn't deliver because it was damaged. Said he would contact Stuart (?) and the shop would arrange a redelivery. No communication or confirmation of this received. I'd like a refund. Thank you

Delivery was good. However, I paid an additional 50p for marshmallows with hot chocolate. I only received a mere single marshmallow floating in the hot chocolate. Not sure why.

Used more for people wanting WiFi. Staff never smile. Coffee is just froth rather than creamy and has a bitter taste. Always out of ingredients to make specials on board ie smoothie

I am a regular now and from the beginning i never had any problems with them, the staff is very friendly and the coffees are amazing!

Tables had a light coating of crumbs and there was a sleeper not bothering anyone. But it felt calm.

I am a regular customer Their customer service is very good The new staff are very polite and caring. They keep it clean and tidy and try their best at pleasing customers. There are plugs around so I see quiet a few people with their laptops working there. Probably because it's an easy atmosphere. Occasionally they have staff coming in to cover and they can be a little dismissing of the customers request and some a little vicious by making drinks hot out of spite. But overall the current permanent staff there are very polite.

One of the items on the order was incorrect, don’t like what arrived so a waste of money!!

Thornton Heath Costa can be busy but friendly. The staff appear to be calm, polite and in control, even with the high turnover of people. They're manner I believe reflects on the customers.

One of the worst outlet among costa chain. Staff working there is rude and no manners when serving. They just dont care about the customers nor customer feedbacks. Disgusting place never go there if you need a refreshing coffee. Staff called MAGGIE is worst of them all. She treated like customers are nothing. I left whout thinking twice after talking to her. Disgusting

Today evening at 1700h i went to this costa and Maggie who was in the serving counter offered my coffee like the first image. Then i asked why it is like this she said she can prepare another one and gave a coffee as second photo. She had chocolate powder with her because the same moment she put for some other coffee but when i asked she said she dont have. I said i dont need a coffee like this for nice evening i would like a refund then I was surprised to see her attitude towards me. She is very destructive to have on a storefront. Very rude and careless. Will never go there to this costa again. One of the worst place in thornton heath. This was not the only thing, they serve watery coffee, not upto the standards in any other costa and coffee is very cold too.

There was no WIFI and manager said that it was another company's responsibility and that I should call ahead next time to see if they had wifi.

Costa Coffee Thornton Heath High Street is very good spot for meeting up with my dance crew for a coffee, bite to eat and a chin-wag. Nice coffee, good food, clean store and happy staff members.

Visited here over the last couple of days and the service has been great each time. The staff were really friendly and quick at serving my order!

Very friendly staff who make a lot of effort to make customers feel welcome. Great quality drinks. I always find a moments peace when I go there and have had many good chats with people there over the years.

Got a frappe from them but after requesting for a straw I didn’t get one. How do you drink a frappe with no straw??? What? How does this make sense?

There seems to have been a change of staff and the new staff is rude and unprofessional, taking personal calls while serving coffees, and making customers feel uncomfortable when ordering. My friend asked for hot water and was made to feel very uncomfortable and was then given half a cup of water.

Staff stressed by amount of people. Forgeting orders. Tables not cleared for anyone new coming in so if you do actually find a table to sit at its dirty/not cleared). I was told 'I'll do it when I'm not busy'. It feel dirty because if this. A lot of people use Costa to work from. That's great but there's no where to sit if you're meeting a friend. People saying 'Move I need a plug' Costa don't care. It just doesn't feel very nice in there.

To be honest , its just a run and drink place for me , I didn't liked it too much. For me it can only be a place to chit chat and time pass rather than coffee 😃 It didn't suits my Taste buds.

Staff member had to go and ask manager if she could top up coffee that had become tepid with hot water and manager refused! Unwelcoming.

The day I was there, at lunchtime, there was only one staff member, and although they weren't super busy, she had too much to do. Nobody was cleaning tables and the coffee was average.

Very disappointed The worst service ever !coffee didn’t taste nice it was very cold even though I have asked for extra hot when I confronted the staff she got very angry and rude and told me that’s how coffee is suppose to be not happy with the service at all

My option is that these guys who work here have incredible patience and education. I am a regular customer and I always ask them how they tolerate so much rudeness from people. the coffee is very good. I just have to walk through the door and they already know what to prepare. I have read comments here that they are rude. but I have seen situations where they are literally disrespected and they hold their own. I hope all Costa employees are like this team that works in this store.

Hot Coffee, Fresh Pastries 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Met a friend for a catch up on a Sunday afternoon, it was my first time visiting, the team looked to be really busy with both in store and delivery orders. It meant the tables weren't being cleared and we had to move two trays to find a seat. Apart from that, it was relaxed and comfortable and the muffins and hot chocolate we ordered tasted as nice as I'd expect at a Costa.

I’m a coffe lover Well i had a latte and was sooo terrible the milk wasn’t fresh as well the taste was sooo weird)and the stuff doesn’t know how to communicate with customers not even a small smile and they are getting soo irritated 😤 when you ask them something, rubbish rubbish coffe and staff😡

As Costa Coffee shops go its ok. Never have a huge stock of anything to intice you, but what they have is ok. Shop light and airy all on one level so good access.

Second time with really bad experience, nice lady didn’t accept the payment of the £20 the paper note , regardless that’s they’re still legal tender , moreover she dropped the plastic cup on the dirty floor and then picked up and filled up with the Frappuccino for the customer - no comment…

I received the wrong order and it was cold and there was hardly any fillings. I tried to call 5 times and no one answers the phone. I’m not feeling well and had order for myself and my 9 year old daughter as I haven’t got any food in and I’m not feeling well enough to go out. The disappointment with the food and service beyond words.

They never seem to use the proper cups and mugs when dining in. You're given a take away cup every time. Why bother having real cups?

This place is really grubby, the nice seats are all taken by people using laptops for hours on end, the food is a very limited choice and not presented I'm an appetising manner at all. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. There are better places to go for coffee in Thornton Heath

I ordered a cheese and tomato toastie and received a bacon sandwich with a random hot drink I didn't order. I don't eat pork so it was a shock and very confusing. Just state you don't have the item I ordered and cancel the order instead of wasting food and everybody's time.

Great for a drink or sandwich on way to church Sunday if you forgot your breakfast or don't fill able to get it before you leaf then go hear and enjoy .

Where is my frappe How do you report missing items

Staff were friendly,had a cappuccino used the washroom 🚻 ,wasn't super clean slight improvement required.

Had a relaxing cup of coffee and some cake - and... calm...

No straw no costa pamplet to get points and toastie was burnt
