Costa Coffee in Waveney

Great place with friendly service. Can't believe the earlier reviews. I have always had friendly service and the food and coffee is just what you expect from Costa.

Deze gelegenheid is gevestigd in de Tesco. Koffie en de capachino waren goed, cake was niet lekker! Ambiance is matig en de vloer was vies, tafeltje werden ook niet schoongemaakt! Jammer kan zo veel beter!

I love Costa, a regular when working in London and now a regular at Beccles. Not sure about the reviews I have just seen on here, I have only ever had good service, even during the height of the pandemic (when we were allowed out!). Everyone, irrespective of profession, has had to get to grips with new ways of working and when you're dealing with members of the public, also getting to grips with news ways, that's not always easy. I think Costa, Beccles have done a great job. I too like my coffee done slightly differently, soya latte, very wet and burn your face off hot and a deconstructed americano and this has never been a problem, always happy to help. As a regular, it's not often that I have to put my order in, if I'm noticed in the queue they've already started preparing our coffees before I get to the checkout! On the whole I find the service to be good, helpful and friendly and I love going to Costa, often feels like a family owned cafe and that's not an easy thing to achieve. Often see lots of regulars that clearly enjoy the experience. Thanks Costa, see you soon.

Absolutely dreadful, impatient and rude member staff, slamming tray and cups in front of me, no please or thank you, and she seemed inconvenienced that I should be there spending money. What a pity when there are hundreds of people who would love to have a job there. I spent almost £15.00 in there today and for such awful service.

I visited here today,spent approx 20 pounds,the young woman who served me was so rude,I am not sure if this is a one off or she is always like it.slamming things down,pulling a face when I asked for something slightly different.I think she needs retraining.very dissapointed in this visit.I get better service at greggs.

Every time I go into Tesco I tell myself, no I won't go to Costa because I am always disappointed. Yet somehow I still wanted a coffee and a bun and made my way down to Costa. Foolish really!! Yes it was very busy, and it was a Saturday morning (I know it is usually rammed at the weekend), most tables were covered in empty cups and plates, where there was room to put your trays was full. And of course there was a queue, whilst I was waiting I noticed that there were only three members of staff, each doing things behind the counter. Yes the line was moving quickly, however the staff weren't friendly, didn't give any eye contact and just wanted to move onto the next person as quickly as possible. I received my Latte and a Belgium bun, well the bun has no fruit in it whatsoever and was quite hard, clearly wasn't fresh. And my latte was so luke warm that I could finish it in one mouthful. Will definitely not be returning to this particular shop.

Why oh why do I do it?? Came here for a sandwich and drink and just wasted 15 mins in the line waiting to be served. with one person serving and god knows how long to make a cup of coffee you just want to leave, but you have been waiting for 10 mins so you can't. These places need to have a big rethink on queue times oh and get happy staff that might be a start. Nespresso takes 45 Sec to make a cup of Excellent Coffee.

Went there whilst shopping at Tesco. Good service and variety of food on offer. Swift service and good coffee and food. Easy to find a place to sit down. Good way to complete shopping.

Called her for a light lunch, as Costa's usually do good coffee. We ordered a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich, a mature cheddar and ham toastie, a flat black coffee and a cinnamon brioche bun. Tuna sandwich: bland and uninteresting - over-processed. Toastie: ham inside, toasted cheese outside! - making it impossible to eat cleanly, not helped by the lack of any serviettes. Coffee: weak and nowhere near Costa's usually standard. Bun: paid for but never received - I had to go and ask for it. Then I wished I hadn't - texture like leather and pretty-much tasteless, apart from the cinnamon. We will not be returning.

Prior to having lunch at Wetherspoons we had two Flat Whites, made with Soya Milk. Service there is always quick and served with a smile on. All of the employees are always on the same page.

seem to be coming here at least once a week, love the coffee and recommend the vanilla latte. always good service, the breakfast bloomer is a brilliant buy on a Sunday morning. always has gluten free food and a range of things to eat.

Situated in the tesco store it's possible to enjoy the full range of costa coffees. The service often seems slow and so not a choice if you just have a few minutes to spare.

If you need a space to open your laptop, work without being disturbed and enjoy a reliably good and hot cup of coffee, then Costa usually delivers. There are few other spaces that get close to this very satisfactory formula.

Me & my stepson visited on Saturday. It was busy, long queue. But no "sorry to keep you waiting" not even a smile from any of the staff. Vacant bored staff, they need a lesson in customer service. There was dirty dish cloths piled up on the counter behind the staff, dirty area's. Stuff stored on the floor behind the counter. There are plenty of other options for a good coffee/pot of tea in Beccles, so use them! I would recommend this Costa.

Went here for lunch today. Picked out a flatbread from the fridge, the server was having difficulty attracting another servers attention for him to put said flatbread in the grill...so what did she do? She threw my flatbread at him (also known as my lunch). We are not talking about throwing it the length of the whole store but even so I thought this was incredibly unproffessional and I was not impressed at all. The tables and trays are grubby too. Caffe Nero for me every time.

By yourself.. with a friend there is always someone to speak too.. New manager now Liam Smith who is keeping the place ship shape. Because it is part of Tescos, only £1 for a pot of tea for one person. Very good value. Before or after your shopping. Friendly staff.

Un chocolate caliente es divina en días de frío y Costa hacen una buena. El personal es amable y le ayudará a decidir lo que te gusta comer. Demasiada variedad! Teniendo en cuenta que está en Tesco Costa parece todavía conservar el ambiente de la costa. Tomar un café, encontrar una mesa y relajarse!

El servicio lento no es culpa del personal. Creo que el café está muy mal diseñado. No hay espacio detrás del mostrador y el personal están permanentemente en los otros sentidos.

El café es excelente, bien situado para Tescos, buena comida, un poco caro pero bueno tarifa es, puede estar en línea por un tiempo, pero vale la pena, el personal es amable, periódicos gratis para leer.

Have been a regular user of this and many other Costa's and The Costa at Tesco Beccles must rate as the worst. It was never great but since the addition of many extra seats (almost double the size) it is dreadful and I have decided not to visit again unless they buck up.The waiting time is dismal and a 20 minute standing wait for a cup of coffee not unusual. The standards of cleaning leave a lot to be desired as tables are regularly left with last customers remnants scattered. When cleared the tables and rarely wiped and cleaned. The standards behind the small counter are similarly poor with usually 2 dirty cloths being used to wipe all in sight!!Many of these faults could be rectified with better management and staff training but the main problem is that there are not enough staff and the counter service too small for the volume of tables. A bit of a problem all roundI use Costa's around the country and am faithful to the brand which I love but Beccles is a disaster.

I visited Costa today and I was very disappointed. There wasn't a massive Que and they forgot about me and my family. I only ordered a panini and a cafe latte over ice (small). My drink came reasonably quick however it was the hot version of a cafe latte! :( I told the man when he brought it to us and he didn't apologize, he just looked gazed and said he would get it changed. A shame as I love Costa but sadly it was the staff that let it down.

Costa do the same type coffee in al their outlets so you are sure it will be good. The service was good and the pastries delicious

Happy to say had a lovely cup of tea in Costa today. Friendly service and had lovely fruit loaf cake to go with it.

This was my first time here.very busy as the kids were off school.but what a great atmosphere .The staff were friendly to all the customers. The coffee was tasty.when I am next in beccles.I will definitely be visiting here again.

Went to costa for a cup of tea and chat with friends, ordering was fine, paying for no problem then my tea was served and the milk had bits of cake/biscuit (which i didnt have), and my cup was really quite dirty, so i asked for a fresh cup at which point i was told oh no that isnt dirty thats fine, after insisting on a new cup one was produced (in not much better a state i might add), but this time No Milk , i asked where my milk was and the "barista" sculked off and came back with a little jug of fresh milk (sans floating bits) and when he put it on the table he made a rather un-needed remark about the milk coming from german cows, on the upside the tea was lovely (it was twinings everyday). so the moral of this tale is, dont waste your money at beccles costa!

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The coffee tastes nice and usually clean. The food is served hot and always tasty, well done to the staff working there.

An overwhelming desire for a Costa coffee was hard to ignore. The staff behind the counter were friendly and polite. I ordered a coffee and a toasted teacake. I love them they taste like ones I had growing up. The teacake was bought to my table once it was toasted. The good thing about using Costa is you know what you are going to get.

I like Costa coffee. I find it the best of the chain offerings. This one is in Tesco and I personally think there are nicer places nearby for coffee stops but it's convenient when you're doing your shopping. Staff were fine but the lady in front of me was holding a baby and, though they weren't especially busy, they didn't offer her any help when she was clearly struggling to carry everything - nor did they offer to take over when I stepped in and helped her out. It's the little things and it wouldn't have been hard for them to take her drink and snack to her table for her.

Nice atmosphere whilst drinking our coffee, the staff always remember my drink and always ready to talk to you, the tables need cleaning faster but that's a minor detail when the drinks are perfect

I visited Costa to have a coffee with a friend. The 2 staff members were both surly, did not smile and looked unkempt.I felt like I was bothering them by asking for 2 coffees. I will not being returning here if this is the best customer service these to men can give. They both appeared not to like members of the public.This is not the usual service I have received in other Costas, usually the staff are bubbly, chatty and give the impression that they actually enjoy people and their work.

Feeling thirsty I popped into Costa as I know what to order. This day the coffee house was not busy yet it took ages for the staff to serve customers.I had a panini that cam fairly swift considering the wait at the start. It was hot however presentation could be improved.

In Tesco store so lovely to relax after a big shop! Costa coffee is always conistently good. This is a very comfortable place to have a coffee and a snack, their teacakes are lovely.

cant go to beccles without going to costa,brilant staff and good coffee,plenty of space not cramped,

OK you can end up standing in a cue for a while but thats a side effect of the good service food and drinks you get

I have visited this place on two separate occasions, mainly due to it's location in Tesco, with an interval of three days. On the first occasion the coffee was passable, however not up to Costa standards - I always use Costa if an independent isn't available because service and standards are consistent. On my first visit I was amazed at customer service. I was being served by the manager - Glen Crane - who spent all his time, whilst taking my money and making coffee, talking to a friend who stood next to the till. He had no eye contact with me and his unsmiling face made me feel like I was privileged to be served by him. But poor customer care aside and the main reason for this post is the man was filthy! His shirt was absolutely covered in ground in dirt. He was unwashed, fingernails grimy and hair greasy and lank. Later I noticed the rest of the staff spent all their time talking behind the counter rather than cleaning or busying themselves with obvious outstanding chores. I think their lack of enthusiasm was magnified by the fact they were taking their lead from an uninspiring, uncaring and frankly ludicrous manager.Now I find myself here again, three days later. And, oh my lord, he is wearing the same filthy shirt and still making customers feel like they owe him a favour, but now things are worse. The reason I go into Costa is for a good Flat White, what I have just been served was a travesty of that! I know Whitbread are a British company so cannot be expected to understand customer services like their American competitors, but come on guys let us at least have a bit of good old fashion Anglo Saxon mediocracy and not abject complacency!

Situated in a Tesco store we found the staff very friendly and accommodating of our need to have room for my mum's mobility scooter. The food was lovely, cooked quickly and brought out to us and the drinks were nice too. All in all we had a lovely snack there and I'd go back any time.

I frequently use Costa outlets and this week popped in to the one situated in Beccles Tesco with my elderly mother. The staff member who served us did in all fairness warn me that they would be closing in about ten minutes but I said that we would only be staying only very briefly so that shouldn't be a problem. Another staff member actually made our drinks but the first one behaved most strangely towards him pushing and pulling him a number of times - this may have been in jest but it was odd and highly unprofessional.About a minute after I had sat the person who had initially served me came over and hissed 'we're closed'. I replied that we would only be a minute or two to which he returned with a mop and made quite a show of clanking his bucket and mop around us - at this point it was still several minutes before the advertised closing time and another couple were still at an adjacent table talking.This made my mother very uncomfortable and she urged that we should go, leaving her drink behind. I would have had a word with this person but my mother just wanted to go.I've no idea who this person was, or what their position was but I'm very unlikely to return there.

I do see Costa Coffee maligned all too often but this particular link in the chain does no wrong by me. Whenever there I see that the staff are super efficient and attentive (even to me, and all I do is order coffee to go). In all the times I've been here now, I don't think I've ever gone away disappointed. The menu isn't as cheap as it could be but I do feel that it offers value for money and as I have said previously I've never gone away disappointed. The restaurant area itself looks spick-and-span whenever I show up and grab a coffee, so their hygiene standards are next to godliness. The decor of the restaurant space makes this place ideal for setting down with a good cuppa. Facilities are right next door as well, so when you're done drinking all that coffee there's not far for you to go.The only reason I've rated service, food and value a four is because I haven't experienced the whole shebang. That is to say, I've not really stress tested the restaurant staff by going in with a group and ordering and observing how they cope with everything and do everything. I've not had one of the majority of food items so I'm not going to rate the food excellent. Not sure what there is left for me to tell you, other than, if you find yourself in the vicinity of this Costa, try it out.

Always plenty of seats since it was much expanded and coffee is consistently superb. Friendly staff and always very clean and tidy. Relaxing coffee break.

Costa can be justly satisfied with the standard of coffees they offer. Situated in a tesco store this outlet is likely to be a success and I wish the staff all the best as there are some very good cafes in this market town offering a similar service so nice to see extras like a good choice of news papers both local and national for the benefit of customers.
