Costa Coffee in High Peak

One of the most underwhelming Costa's we've visited, in terms of overall experience.

My latte was piping hot as I asked for it extra hot it tasted great.

It's Costa! You know what you're getting.

The "automatic" door sticks open if people aren't aware, especially bad in cold windy weather, it needs fixing!!!

Went in as I had looked online and had been into other Costa establishments with my well behaved dog. Looked on the front of the door for assurance and saw "all is welcome" with a photo of a dog, no mention of having to be a service animal. Was told instantly he wasn't allowed in when I said oh that's not very clear on the sign, no attempt at a reason so I just left. For a dog friendly town on holiday I would not recommend and pretty much any other cafe allowed him when asked.

food was ok but they had run out off ketchup and DONT HAVE SALT OR PEPPER. Any fool know that mushrooms and excellent with a bit of pepper.

Early Saturday morning no one in all doing Christmas shopping. Staff very helpful

Came in here for the first time today and the ambience and staff are amazing. One of the best Costa,s I've been in

Decent coffee but in common with many other branches, in dire need of a makeover. This is getting steadily worse. All the chairs are now stained and need replacing. This isn't Costa's fault but after 3pm it's more like a soft play area with kids running around, shouting. It also seems to have the only easily located public toilet in town, so non customers use it all the time. A real positive is the staff. They're all terrific 👍

A little treat. Called into Costa this morning after my eye test, didn't need New Glasses, so thought id pop in and top up my caffeine and cake energy levels. Lovely place, helpful friendly staff, coffee here (any Costa) is my personal favourite. Also my favourite cake is the millionaires shortbread Mmmmm unfortunately it looked as good as it always does but fell apart when I bit into it, luckily my plate was right underneath it, from then it was like eating a bit of a cake jigsaw? Shame really 😕 But won't let that put me off. I will be back. Better luck next time.

Based next to the square makes it a excellent location on a sunny day to sit outside or get a take away and sit on the grass. Coffee are nice and plenty choice of food.

Good location looking onto a kind of village green in the heart of Glossop. Came in for lunch can't compalin about the food or service

Always enjoy visiting this Costa, the staff are wonderful its tastefully furnished and the choice of cakes is excellent. Today I ordered my usual egg mayonnaise sandwich But couldn’t t find any pepper. When i asked at the counter I was told we don’t do pepper anymore and when the salt runs out we won t be providing that either. Salt and Pepper is a given in every cafe and restaurant i ve ever been in. My sandwich was fresh and well prepared but without pepper was bland. I knocked a star off my usual 5 star rating over this. Come on Costa Wren’s Nest! At least have some condiments at the counter for guests who are partial to pepper like me.

Friendly staff and not too busy.

Hubby loved his hot chocolate but I forgot to ask if the syrup was sugar free. I wish there was less artificial sweetener choices

Tables are dirty and chairs don't look like they have been cleaned once in 6 months. If you're visiting Glossop do not go to this Costa, there is much better coffee shops in Glossop such as Canella which is 2 minutes down the road, The coffee is much better and the food is 1000 times better along with the staff being helpful and friendly.

The food may be overpriced and tastes like it's been sitting there for a few days but when you need a snack at 7 in the morning to go with your coffee ,you wouldn't have expected to be shunned by the staff because you had a coffee in your hand from another retailer with the excuse that it was cash only ,especially when the coffee I had purchased was from a competitor directly across from them and may I add payed with by card not cash only terrible service costa for a 3 and half pound pastry....(oh and yes I went back to the first retailer and purchased something from them with card payment)...thanks but no thanks again costa ..

Kylie , Charlie, Olivia, Nikki and the girls are all fantastic. They are so friendly. And amazing barista sisters. They always make the best brews and cheer me up before or after the gym. The new almond biscotti is absolutely fit.

It's a Costa. That's all you need to know.

Came here out of desperation as nothing else was open. Nothing wrong with the place, just not much variety.

It was absolutely filthy! The chairs, the tables and the floor. Only had a coffee but was put off by the lack of cleanliness. Truly the dirtiest Costa I've ever been to!

Great food and drinks available, staff are always friendly, polite and happy.

Update after a while of not being here. When i came one of girls told me it won't be a minute before i will be served. And then her college said same. And it wasn't a minute. And than i was asked do i want coffee to my chai late. Have to admit it was some time when i had dirty chai late and forgot about it. And this one was spectacular and good. As well as service. Girls enjoyed thier work, something you could tell by how efficient they moved and served customers. And the fact they smiled in natural way. Nothing faked or forced. Simple smile that buys customers and makes them feel welcome. And so did i. Was anticipating my drink, secretly watch staff and i know Costa i know has changed. For better. Much better and im sad because im not in Glossop that often. If i was i would come here every day. If not forba drink then to see smile. Because seeing someone smiling makes you smile. And you can't put a price tag on it. But definitely 5 stars! Thanks. 🖤 Loved my time at there while having Chai Late. Although there's less space since my last visit. There used to be more space where you could just sat there. But still great place to go and have good drink.

Really kind and friendly staff, professional, good at their job. Went to a lot of trouble to make sure what I was ordering was vegan-friendly, even consulted a nutritional guide thing. Drink was gorgeous too.

Sole staff member on the floor completely ignored me while I stood at the counter for over a minute. Eventually, another came out of the back and gave excellent friendly service. Young guy needs a lot of training. Never ignore customer.

It’s a Costa. They don’t change a great deal. The drink wasn’t that good and the food was expensive.

Nice location, a reasonable amount of seating and a few comfier seats, although some were fabric and stained so you even move or or grin and bare it. Happy with our drinks, arrived quick, and hot. White mocha was lovely. No gluten free food was offered which was very disappointing.

Fast and friendly service, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options, a clean restroom and all of the food and drink options that you've come to expect from a Costa. Lots of individual seats in the window which are great for people-watching!

Very friendly and polite staff, brought my order to me once it was made. One of the brighter Costas I've been in with its wide span of windows.

Served by polite, friendly staff but seating is cheap and nasty. Invest in comfy furniture and more people will want to come in as it is in prime location for town centre.

Lovely helpful staff. Great customer focused team in there nothing too much trouble. All the girls and boy are always smiling. Love it can relax.

Went into Costa coffee this morning and waited 5 minutes to be served while one young girl stood by coffee machine doing nothing and the other young girl basically going at a snails pace never acknowledging me once until I spoke up and asked her if I was going to get served today Her manners was atrocious and from now on I will be going to another coffee house where their staff are prompt and efficient and well mannered,would also like to point out that it was not busy as if it was then why was the girl at coffee machine stood idle Disgusting way to treat customers

Starting to look its age, had to wipe chair seat before sitting down, could do with a facelift.....coffee was excellent.

Plenty of choice as is usual in Costa. Plenty of seating and quite spacious too.

My partner visited this place this morning, 19.12.21 incase manager is interested. Purchased a hotchoc for herself and a babychino for my cmpa 2 year old. I only found out tonight that she was charged for it as she was not aware it's supposed to be free.

Normally Costa are brilliant, but the Glossop branch let the side down, an ice infusion was delivered warm and no ice.

The coffee was lovely as always, Lovely and clean. Staff polite.

Went inside for a breakfast with my dog, they told me are not dog friendly. When I pointed out that the sign on the door said otherwise the answer was: yes all the dog are welcome but outside area. 👎👎👎

Unlike Costa in Hyde was unable to walk in with two well behaved dogs on lead to grab a coffee as wanted to sit outside. No help offered to be served outside was just told (it's on the door, no dogs) and left with nothing and purchased elsewhere.

Looking a bit dated inside, think it's ready for a refurbishment. The coffee was OK, just scruffy looking inside with the flaking paint.

No masks to be seen in a small area as well slower than you can imagine to be served and not at all pleasant staff apart from that it's just OK

Always like to stop here for a well deserved brew. Sat outside because we had the dog with us. Asked for some clothes to wipe the rain off the seats outside and the obliged.

Usual costa service, not much to comment about ,think its pricey coffee like Starbucks, but if everyone keeps paying the price they will charge what they want .

Waited over half an hour as they were VERY understaffed for a Saturday, and eventually received a summer Berry cooler with no ice and a Belgian chocolate frostino with no chocolate. SHOCKING service!

Was not busy waited long time which was fine. Was given drinks in take away cup when asked for sit in cups. Felt not good customer service

Centrally located in Glossop this Costa has outdoor seating. Good for socially distanced coffee drinking.

Girl serving was lovely, but find it shocking that she was left on her own during a busy period. Not her fault, the company needs to think more clearly about staffing levels.

They have lost the charm . When it opened it shone now its dull and scruffy. Everything gets blamed on Covid these days but this place I dont know what's gone wrong. I do know there isn't enough staff definitely. The manager use to smile.

It's a Costa in Glossop. Clean but the chain's coffee is still too weak, reduce amount of water in each drink please.

Typical coffee shop, done very well.

Twig was closed so I had a Costa Coffee in my own cup only to be charged full price!!! If costa want to waist money on washing a cup up then more fool them. This will be the last time I use this store. The less 25p per cup was put in place to help reduce recycling and washing up. If they sold a reusable expresso cup with a lid I would use it. It does not exist so therefore I can’t use my own cup and get the discount. £1.70 for a single expresso is a joke. I’m happy to pay €1.50 for an excellent caffe in Italy (the norm is between €0.90 and €1.10) but £1.70 for what I’ve just been served is no value. I will not be returning to this store again even if it’s the only one open..........

The staff are brilliant, Aimee and John are the only ones who’s names I know but Aimee is always smiling and pleasant. This branch is by far the nicest one I have ever been to, made so by the wonderful people who work there. Thank you for being amazing :-)
