Music is too loud in the morning - A cafe should be peaceful in the mornings but they always put music on. Suggestion is to put music on from 12pm. alot of people come to the cafe in the morning for a quiet coffe, catch up with work take a meeting call etc. this is the only costa I have been to that has the music on from 9am and that loud. Please change this asap

Yesterday we visited this cafe to buy drinks and use the toilet. Let me start by saying that I had a hard time figuring out the code on the toilet and the staff didn't help me, a guest and this hole helped me open the door and for that I thank him. The toilet inside was dirty but ok, maybe the staff doesn't know how to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. But what brought me to tears was the situation when I was already inside and some man started to open the door to the toilet, I told him it was busy but that didn't stop him and he opened the door anyway. It was a shock.The staff didn't care. My berry drink tasted awful, tasted like the sugar syrup they give people in hospitals to check them for diabetes my boyfriend had peach tea and it was also awful, we had to throw it.

I am writing to formally escalate a serious complaint regarding a staff member at your costa in barking right infront of barking station, identified as the lady with red hair. Her repeated rudeness and unprofessional behavior towards me and other customers have become unacceptable, and I am prepared to take further action if this matter is not addressed immediately. I frequently visit Costa to work, often spending long hours there while consistently purchasing food and drinks throughout the day. Despite this, this particular staff member has repeatedly confronted me about using the restroom, implying that I am not a paying customer. I fully understand that Costa requires a purchase for restroom use, which is why I always buy something. However, I do not see why I should be subjected to unnecessary scrutiny and rude treatment every time. I am also pregnant, and while my pregnancy may not be immediately obvious, that does not give her the right to be rude or dismissive toward me. I use the restroom frequently, as is expected during pregnancy, and I often misplace my receipts in the process. That does not mean I am trying to take advantage of Costa’s facilities I am a loyal paying customer who follows the rules. I have ignored this treatment for far too long, but I have had enough. I have also observed that she selectively chooses whom to be polite to, which further proves that this is not just a misunderstanding but a pattern of unfair behavior. This is my formal notice that if this issue is not taken seriously, I am prepared to escalate it further, including pursuing legal action for discrimination and harassment. I expect a prompt response outlining the steps you will take to resolve this matter. Ignore this and I’ll take it further………. Sincerely,

I recently visited the Costa Coffee at 62-64 Station Parade in Barking with my partner, and it was one of the worst coffee shop experiences we've ever had. First off, the staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. There was no sense of customer service at all, and we felt uncomfortable from the moment we stepped in. To make matters worse, the entire place had a foul odor, like sewage, which made the environment unbearable. I’m genuinely concerned about the hygiene and overall cleanliness of this branch. It raises serious health and safety concerns. We left feeling extremely disappointed and will never return. I strongly advise others to stay away from this location—there are much better coffee shops around without the rude service and unpleasant conditions. Avoid this Costa at all costs!

The employees are very kind and polite, but this location traffics in lies. Only the downstairs is open until 21:30. If you are sitting upstairs they will force you downstairs at 19:30, where there is no table with access to an outlet. As if the awful music played at an excessive volume weren’t reason enough to avoid this place, there’s another for you.

order was placed at 10.05. was received by costa at 10.14 according to my receipt. received the items at 11.05. over half an hour past the expected delivery time. all of the items arrived cold. I am not happy with this as the driver had family in the car and was delivering more than 1 order. did not even attempt to call until he was here. I phoned costa asking if I could get the drivers contact number but they were unable to help. I understand this was not the fault of costa but was driver.

I came to costa because I was having a period crisis, I needed to check if I was leaking as I thought I had started on the train. Wearing my coat around my waist to cover up. I asked the lady if I could use her toilet to check (I said I was having an emergency) and she told me I had to buy something as it’s for customers only. For the love of humanity, if someone comes to your store in an emergency, let them use it for 2 seconds. As a woman asking another woman, that was pure and utterly disgusting. As someone who has bought from that shop for years, I refuse to ever go to your shops again.

You can verify with the driver my entire coffee is split.. I can send pictures I literally wanted to have iced coffee and to make it £10 I ordered butter biscuits they sent me something else and no coffee instead I had to clean my floor and outside carpet in my apartment. Horrible service!!

Two women working there are quite rude. One replied to a customer in an angry way when they asked about the toilet code. The other was on the phone making a personal call while making the coffees. I was waiting to see if she made a mistake and she did, giving me the wrong size coffee and also forgot to call out another customers name who was waiting for two minutes to see if it was hers or not. On top of that it was clear these two colleagues were arguing about something.

The blonde lady who claims is manager was ridiculously rude to her colleague in front of me and my sister she then persisted to be rude and abrupt towards us. Huffed and puffed like she was the big bad wolf. I have been to many costas and this is by far the worse experience I’ve had. Don’t get me wrong it’s clean but the management role has got to her head and an apology to I believe her name was rija as she was very polite and looked shaken by by the angry energy she had received from the manager. Usually I'd shift some of the blame on the Uber Driver but he was not at fault at all. 3 of the items never even showed up and 1 of the drinks wasn't even sealed properly. I have filed a formal complaint with Costa about the Barking branch. I normally try to give servers a chance as I used to work as a barista and know how difficult it is to serve so many people quickly. But it's become clear to me that the baristas at Costa simply don't care about the Costa brand and serving customers. They produce bad quality drinks because they have no respect for their jobs or the Costa brand. What's shocking is that the worst barista at Costa Barking is actually the manager! She's either very foolish or very careless because when I was going to pay for my hot chocolate by card she put in £312 into the card reader! Rather than issue an apology she laughed about it and the other barista had the audacity to say "it's a good thing you checked before you tapped your card." No, it is your job as a staff member to know how to operate a card reader correctly and not over charge customers ridiculous amounts of money. I simply cannot trust the baristas here now to correctly charge me for items as they clearly lack the knowledge of how to use a card reader. Things only got worse as the barista who was making my drink had mango pulp all over her hands. She didn't wash her hands and ended up smearing mango pulp all over the coffee cup. She also took a long time making my drink as she was more concerned gossiping with another customer in her first language rather than actually doing her job. I ended up with a disgusting mango flavoured white hot chocolate due to the poor hygiene of the barista who made my drink. I urge all other customers to make a formal complaint on Costa's website because the more people who complain, the more likely Costa will do something about the incompetency of the people working here. Hopefully, Costa will replace these ungrateful lazy workers with people who actually want to work. For now I will be going to Starbucks which is just opposite Costa. They have better baristas who actually know how to make drinks aren't there to just piss around and get paid like Costa's baristas are doing.

Me and my friend (both aged 16 however are still in year 11) decided to go to Costa after school. After our walk to get there, we asked for a caramel cortado. The barista declined our order saying she could not serve us caffeine due to the fact that we were under 16. After repeatedly telling her we were 16, she raised her voice at us and was very hostile. We have come to this Costa many times before and after school and there never seemed to be an issue before so we couldn't understand why there was an issue this time around. We left empty-handed and upset.

I do feel sorry for staff in busy areas, having worked in service for years myself... But the customer service here is cold and rude. They must have a lot of people using or abusing the public toilets because i was forced to buy a drink before going in, to get the code on a receipt. As someone with an invisible condition I was grateful there wasn't a queue and that I'd taken my medication properly... Otherwise it would have been an uncomfortable and risky wait. When I got my receipt the code was printed so small I struggled to get it right without digging my glasses out of my bag, very inaccessible. The server then shouted at me across the room not to use the disabled toilet... To use the other one. No one waiting for disabled but one lady waiting for normal. Just because you aren't in a wheelchair doesn't mean you don't have a need for accessible... Bowl cancers, pain, colitis, muscle issues, pain and an array of medical conditions aren't visible but may call for an urgent need for an accessible toilet. I asjed the server after to remember not all disabilities are visible and accosting customers across the restaurant is inappropriate. The response today (lunchtime) was dismissive and unapologetic. I certainly won't use this csfe again when there's a friendly starbucks over the road. Customer facing behavior and attitude needs to be addressed... Do better Costa.

Doner meat full of fat lumps had to be chucked away. Telling us they have meat already cut in pot for the day. This is absolutely disgusting so it’s not even freshly cut. Food was stone cold when arrived too

If I had the option of zero stars, I would give it that.I ate the worst and most tasteless wings of my life yesterday.Counter staff rude the guy with beard ask me to wait for fresh wings which takes a bit to get ready when its ready he served me the same old wings with 2 pieces of new which is horrible.waste of money not worth at all stay away these thieves.
