Costa Coffee in Darlington

Very very poor attitude from staff. I was waiting to be served and continuously ignored- after 5 mins of waiting, I left. Service requires improvement.

The service is slow and stop. The tables are wobbly which makes them dangerous especially with hot drinks possibly spilling. Also there is a customer who goes in every day whose bodily hygiene makes the place stink which in turn makes you feel sick which is why we have stopped going.

Absolutamente horrible - fui por un capuchino de leche de roble hoy se le dio un capuchino lácteo. Le pregunté al barista “solo para confirmar que esto está hecho con leche de roble, me respondió que sí y puso una o en la tapa. Con una pluma. Ahora lo vi poner leche en una jarra, pero miré hacia otro lado para hablar con mi hija, así que no estaba seguro de si había usado la otra jarra que estaba frente a él para mi café con leche de roble. Esto es inaceptable y errores como este enferman a la gente. Cómo puede alguien confirmar su leche de avena 🥺 ¡Por favor, ten cuidado!

Busy, noisy and cramped, but staff were very good, so no major complaints.

I went in not too busy and had to wait while everyone behind the counter had finished their conversation. Eventually I ordered cortado and a hot chocolate and two cakes not a very good barista. There was no pattern on my cortado the cakes were stale. It was coming to the end of the day but professionalism should last till you clock out.

Una experiencia horrible. Solía ser agradable. Se reunió con el personal muy grosero, antipático y poco servicial. La bebida estaba fría más como un batido. Pedí amablemente que se calentara. Se reunió con el personal sarcástico grosero y poco servicial x 2. El segundo intento tuvo que pedir una bebida de reemplazo tan fría como se negaron a calentarse, solo agregaron más leche, lo que la hizo demasiado llena para llevar. Incluso alguien en la cola comentó lo poco profesional y poco servicial que era el personal. El personal necesita capacitación de servicio al cliente lo antes posible. La vergüenza solía ser un lugar agradable para ir.

I have to point out that it takes ages to get a coffee. That's the same at all Costas. So not a criticism, but surely making a cup of coffee can be made quicker?

Lovely toasted sandwiches. Flat white was more like a latte, so not sure why that was. Won't chance one again, will go for americano next time.

Like all coffee shops it takes an age to be served due to the time it takes to make a coffee! I am sick to death of waiting 6 mins & more to get a coffee ordered. No complaints about the coffee just a problem with the tine it takes to get one. His was not the drive through I used but the inside coffee order!

Habiendo sido lo que considero un cliente muy leal de Darlington Drive Thru he estado muy decepcionado y decepcionado. He descubierto que los cambios recientes en el servicio y el uso del sistema de autopago y escaneo ha reducido significativamente el contacto con el personal. Posteriormente, las bromas y la amabilidad, incluso la experiencia y el asesoramiento de los baristas, etc. han desaparecido casi de la noche a la mañana. Algunos de estos cambios pueden haber sido inevitables y, de hecho, algo con lo que podría vivir si no hubieran ido acompañados de algunas cosas recientes que he observado. Una señora literalmente colgando de su coche luchando por alcanzar el escáner... El motor del coche sigue funcionando por lo tanto no es seguro. El personal me reconoce por micrófono que el escáner no está funcionando y como es mi recompensa gratuita no importa. Mi experiencia hasta ahora es que no funciona mucho tiempo. El personal observó reírse de esto y peor aún de los clientes que experimentan las dificultades. Ya veis que lo he intentado pero en un momento en el que vuestros competidores han vuelto a la ciudad en al menos dos nuevos lugares y un tercero por venir. ¡Costa necesitabas haber mejorado tu juego no a esto! Por último, la ausencia del que considero su mejor personal por cualquier razón es tan notable como la falta de contacto y civilidad de los que ahora están de servicio. Como otra revisión afirma que yo también extraño el equipo A y ahora he tomado mis a menudo 3 + visitas para tomar café en otro lugar.

El servicio al cliente solía ser una gran experiencia, bromas, sonrisas gran actitud, pero ahora es tan plana. Hoy intenté usar la estación de pago, pero alguien murmuró acerca de mi aplicación no funciona y para ordenarlo en la ventana. Conduje hacia abajo y la persona me dijo 'oh perdón que quería que pagaras de vuelta allí'. No café y decepción. Recupera el equipo A y llévalo como antes.

Great Place had a coffee and a Cake And depsite The Dish Washer Breaking Down last month can I just say The Staff Members behind 'the Scene' really did work Hard to get those Coffee Mugs and Plates Out to the Front of House. Well done to All Staff Members and What a Great Vibe and Buzz that is felt with Smiles and Genuine Caring Staff and 'Everyone' Deserves a Huge Pat on the Back 100% Really Really Clean.

Service was fine. Staff all very friendly. Drinks and food ok but nothing exceptional. Cleanliness not so good. Tables and floors less than desirable.

Mejor Costa Lugar en el que hemos estado en mucho tiempo y visitamos muchos cuando en nuestro viaje de trabajo. A pesar de que el lavaplatos se rompió, los miembros del personal trabajaron juntos para llevar esas tazas y platos a nosotros, los clientes y el gran equipo. Otorgamos 100% Premios a Todos y no dejamos a ninguna persona fuera. El pastel de galletas Cherry Bakewell estaba de pie y el café con leche se servía cremoso caliente.

My go to place for a proper coffee. Sitting inside is comfortable with plenty of seating available. Usually a lot quieter than the Costa in town. If early I like to grab some toast too. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Always sold out just eat won’t provide any refunds because it happens so much honestly the worst manager ever I have lost money every week it’s a joke

Nice to visit and have a coffee and a snack.

You can eat in as well as the drive through. It is based on a retail park so plenty of parking spaces.

The Harry Potter mad lad in the drive-thru is a legend!

I visit the drive thru around once a month. Haven't been inside, so I can't comment on that. At times there is quite a large que but that doesn't put me off as I've never been in a rush to get somewhere when visiting. Staff are always polite and friendly. Odd occasion when there hasn't been oat milk available and I have had to leave empty handed as this is only milk I can have. Items are a little bit pricey but this doesn't put me off as I am aware of this prices before visiting and only do so occasionally.

No labels on my drinks so could not tell which was which! Only received 1 chocolate twist! When I ordered two?! With a note sorry only one left ??? No alternative sent or any attempt to contact me?! Not happy at all. And no refund given.

The slice of cake costs £4.00 and it’s not even worth that amount as it’s extremely small . Surely the money your paying should at least give you a decent slice of cake

Never order at this place! Paid extra for the marshmallows and paid extra to have cream added on my frappe and it came with neither of the extras i paid for. when i ring no one answer.

What's not to love about Costa my wife had a breakfast which she loves and I had porridge(special diet) but costa cater for that as much as they can my only critic is there is always to much in the way of cheese sandwiches it's cheese this or cheese that it's frustrating when you have someone who is allergic to cheese to see only cheese sandwiches on the shelve so I think a broader range is needed other than that a great place to just sit and have ten minutes out of a hectic schedule with a decent coffee or tea

Order was round corner then said delivered and hasn’t shown up

Delivery driver stole the order basically. Parked up said I was delivered but never got out the car and drove away.

When placing the order it was a quoted delivery time of 20-35 minutes so we ordered for at 8.20 for a 9am meeting. The order then didn't arrive until 9.33 & the meeting was finished

Early Sunday morning coffee run, guys who served me where brilliant and really put a smile on my face 😻

Ok service was good, didn't eat anything but my grandson enjoyed what he had.

The hot chocolate had an iceburg of coco powder of the bottom of it and tasted of water, wasn’t clearly stirred at all! The iced caramel frappe wasn’t even blended ice was thrown on the top of the cream and tasted of water, didn’t even look like they put caramel on it. The bacon and sausage baps were good though, just a shame it was let down by the drinks.

After a long week, I thought I'd treat myself to a drive thru salted caramel coffee frap and a cinnamon bun. Absolutely delicious as always! But I'm writing this review for Gav (I think that was the name on the tag). What an absolute breath of fresh air he is! Such a welcoming and joyful personality, definitely deserves some acknowledgement. Keep on being you! 🙌🏻

Good place for a coffee if visiting the retail park. Lot's of choices and can be expensive if having a meal.

Terrible how dare they close at 5:30 they didn’t even answer the bell disgrace they should all get fired just rude I mean it shuts at 6 they are lazy and do not deserve a job

Shuts at 5pm for inside which is far too early ...and you get rushed out. Service is also on the slow side.

Cinnamon buns dry stale and inedible. Waste of money! Drinks were nice though and staff are friendly.

Enjoy their coffee but they don't offer Armed Forces (army) discount at this branch. Most branches do. Disappointing.

Excellent customer service - my order was missed so there was a delay but the staff member who dealt was courteous, polite and apologetic and brought our order to the table. Store was exceptionally busy so the service was greatly appreciated.

Every time you place an order with the drive thru they make a mistake! Specifically asked for an almond cappuccino with caramel and a skinny cappuccino and yes of course they have put the caramel in the skinny one! I know this is a minor mistake but can I add this is about the 5th time it has happened! Aside from that the coffee is always gorgeous

Screens around work station are filthy. No soap in dispenser in the toilet. Table had not been wiped. Furniture is scruffy. Hope the coffee us better than the venue

Visited a couple of times since the lockdown and quite frankly the place could be a lot cleaner and some of the fabric furniture is threadbare as it was before the shutdown I can't understand why the place was improved and deep cleaned before customer's returned

Customer service at its best, great to see staff so efficient and polite, especially the guy called James, super polite, smiling and offering suggestions, Even offered water for my dog in the car on a very hot day. Sadly this kind of excellent service is rare these days, well done and thanks for a perfect coffee, brilliant service and delicious snack. I will certainly be back next time I'm passing.
