Costa Coffee in Havering

Very slow service, never enough staff and always a trainee on the till making everything slower at busy times! One one oven to cook food so waiting around while your coffee goes cold.

Me and my friends went out this afternoon for a study session and as we went to move to a more comfier seat a worker came up to us and asked quite carelessly if we would not sit here in the UN reserved seat. When we asked why she proceeded to say her friend was coming with a “baby” and they wanted to sit in that seat.. this was rude even to begin with but none the less we were polite and moved our seats, maybe she needed more room for a pram?? When the workers friend came she had children youngest being about 5 and oldest at least 8 and she rushed over to clean her table after making us move to a dirty one. Maybe this is dramatic but why should we have had to move because of your personal friend in an established business?? i belive she took advantage of the fact we were younger customers just to cater to her friend putting personal life over work. All the while she was shouting aggressively at co workers - we left immediately after , by then the atmosphere felt tense. We didn’t have a chance to get a drink so this is my review of the service mainly - usually costa is a favourite of mine but i will now not be revisiting!

We had really great experience and very quick service. Best team I have ever seen also very friendly . Kids friendly Very clean store .

We have been coming to this Costa for over 2 years now. The manager Catolin is always welcoming and runs this branch to precision . He is under pressure to please all the customers however rude some Of them can be.

Lovely friendly staff and spotlessly clean. Very enjoyable turkey sandwich and pot of tea.Thank you

Both the Costas are grim in Hornchurch. I get it, they are busy, so wear and tear will always be an issue... well... it would be an issue if anyone cared. They need to address the furniture, its filthy andcI didn't want to sit down. The rear deck (outside) is loose and dangerous, scruffy and ininviting with a broken canopy hanging loosidedly over you. Costa is a massive chain, surely they should look at their franchises and raise standards.

My friends and I met yesterday after work for coffee here. Whilst ordering our coffee we changed our mind several times but Alex (I asked his name when we left) remained unfazed and gave excellent advice on what coffee he thought we would like. We sat in the raised area which we know now they close down and clean as part of their closing process. Alex very politely asked if we would mind moving to the other part of the shop so he could clean up but if we didn't want to that was fine. Obviously we moved as we knew it was getting late. Shortly after Alex noticed I was struggling to read the code from the receipt to access the toilets so came straight over and did it for me. He was so obviously a great worker and asset to Costa so I felt compelled to give him the credit he deserves. My friends and I have arranged to meet there again soon.

Owner should be ashamed of himself - thinks it’s acceptabke to deduct wages from staff following a theft from the TIL

Lovely branch, seems to be the mummy hangout of choice. Lots of seat options. Staff friendly and efficiently clearing tables on regular basis.
