Costa Coffee in Cheltenham

Love Costa anyway but this was tucked away and so was fairly quiet for a Saturday.

There was only one staff member working in which the others were having a cigarette break. We ordered some drinks and they were below expectations. They had a piece of paper on the door stating “ cannot do frappes due to low on ingredients”, they should of had more stock in order to not have a limited drinks menu! Also when going to the toilet, there was piles of fridge stock on the floor, how unhygienic!! The staff was half arsed to not restock the shelves due to having their cigarette breaks often. Will not be returning!

It's no good going for breakfast as there's no food . I've tried a number of mornings around 9am (which I don't think is too early), and there weren't any breakfast baps. They'd sold out the previous day.

Called in here on Saturday. Ordered a Cortado, received a random milky coffee served at around 200 degrees C. Talons guy had no idea how to make coffee. Rubbish.

Excellent, friendly prompt welcome teacakes warmed whilst making coffee so all warm together. Good central location, comfortable seating.

Toilets were disgusting, obviously not cleaned from Saturday trade.

Cozy place to have a coffee or a hot chocolate in the middle of the winter.

The staff are friendly and welcoming, I get here in the morning so wait times are nonexistent, drinks are usually great quality. I find the opening/closing times very inconsistent, sometimes the branch is shut before advertised- especially on the weekends. Edit : never open on time, constantly opening late and closing early.

Not a good experience walked in all tables had old cups and plates on them had to clear them onto an other table no one cleared them away all the time we were there, the lady who served use needs to cheer up a lot it's Christmas ⛄🎄

A calm and relaxing Costa. Easily reached on the Promenade. Offers delicious pork sausage sandwiches with or without sauces.

Visited Cheltenham and searched the Internet to see what the opening hours were for this Costa Coffee as wanted a coffee early in the morning. The Internet shows 7am opening but upon visiting store opening hours show 8am on the door. Also trip advisor shows 9am. I know this seems a general problem with incorrect opening hours but rather frustrating.

My favourite coffee shop in town. I always stop here to get the coffee on the way to work. Worth a visit.

Friendly staff, a good oasis to get away from the crazy shopping crowd, great selection of food and drink.

Just been for a hot choc with a friend, the staff are not very friendly, we handed a sign that had blown over outside, the staff member did not even fully give us eye contact or turn around, hand on the hips! shouted to her other member of staff about the sign and neither of them said thank you for bringing the sign in, she asked where we found the sign, well how many signs do you have outside, look for yourself! then didn't actually do anything with the sign, the male member of staff acknowledged us quite nicely to take our order, then decided to do something else and talk to his other staff members, then served us again, you don't leave a customer waiting! while we waited for our drinks three members of staff were all just stood together, the whole place is dirty, rather than stand there they could be sweeping and cleaning the floor, cleaning tables, there was food on the floor and it was very dirty, the whole place felt dirty! no napkins on display and had to ask for a spoon! will not visit ever again, the other costa is much nicer!

Poor service waited 25 minutes for our drinks. Staff seemed more interested in messing around rather than serving customers when extremely busy will give this one a miss

How can you have 3 people serving and a 12 minute wait for 2 items

Like many Costa's these days it's looking very tired and staff are often overstretched. Time the company upgraded and made it it better experience

Gave me a free cake as it was my Birthday!

Staff friendly but I ordered my latte's extra hot and as this was poured into cold glasses it defeated the purpose.

Quick friendly service , nice warm coffee , sat in , had a nice relaxing chat

Just been in for a coffee. Totally ignored. One girl at machine doing an order. Two other staff visible, one customer side talking to man, other counter side never approached me. A basic, simple courtesy would be to acknowledge me and say they would be with me in a minute. So, they lost my order to cafe nero. Sorry Costa, need to train your staff.

Great coffee and cakes but now require 8!!!! coffees to earn next one free. The most on the high street. Poor!!! I won't be returning unless they reduce this or forced to by circumstances!

Decent town centre shopping mall.

While on a recent stay in Cheltenham, I visited this Costa to get drinks. There were 3 people behind the counter serving/making drinks and 3 customers infront of me. In 10 minutes the queue did not move and no-one seemed to get served. There was no communication from staff around any delay. I left without even getting close to placing an order. Terrible experience. I went around the corner to a rival and was served instantly

Day 11 of Lands end to John O’Groats walk and I have reached Cheltenham. Spotted the Costa branch on the promenade and stopped for a coffee, service was good as was the coffee. Just passing by and only had coffee.

Nicely accommodating for current restrictions. Sausage fell out of heat pack though...right on the floor...pigeon took it. Bad times. But anyway thats on my clumsiness. 4/5 because table was wobbly.

The staff are very helpful and friendly! They were so nice to my girlfriend and I (both Junior doctors). Helping us keep motivated and fuelled through these tough times! Well done whoever was working in this branch today!

Today, was the worst experience at this Costa. Not normally so Service was slow. Coffee & hot food prepared first before the salted caramel frostino was even started. They needed to go & get ice, which meant a walk to go & get it. We went to sit down. Needles to say by the time it arrived at our table the frothy milk on my cappacino had disintegrated. The food was lukewarm.

Costa is the best coffee I ever had!I do have it every morning before I start my journey to work. It's my favourite spot.

The staff who served me was cheerful and friendly,its what you need after finishing more than 12hours night shift,a good service and nice coffee.

Visited today, I waited outside while my daughter queued for her drink. Had a lovely chat with the young man on the door, it started raining, he allowed me to have a little spot in the cafe to shelter. The other staff were lovely and chatty too. A little mishap occured and drink was delayed, 2 cakes were bagged up for us as an apology (it really wasn't an issue though). Top marks for safety guideline following and customer service. Thank you

Lovely salted brownie( got a taste sample) nice touch . Made up for the error in my order & next ladies. Though not sure if I was over charged? Made a skinny latte instead of flat white??

Can we have another 30 of these in Cheltenham please? Dont feel like we have enough Costas

Sometime in 2019 Waterstones got rid of Costa in order to do it themselves under the 'W' moniker. The coffee was not as good, nor the hot chocolate. Food range was good but it's the coffee that counts, isn't it?

Well well costa you really need to improve your staff are so overworked! And could see they were really flat out serving and clearing up. It looks like they were only just keeping on top of demand for empty clean tables and seating. Called in at 11. Ish on a Monday maybe peak time but so busy. Dirty tables dirty floor disgusting toilets and the approach to toilets smelly The coffee was good the croissant was delicious and light. But the knife was dirty the waiter did notice and wiped clean three before he found a clean one! With all the coffee shops in Cheltenham I certainly would not return to this one.

Not everyone can make a flat white - so would be 3 stars for today's coffee - but staff are friendly and most flat white are :-) Please train everyone how to make a good flat white

Called in one lunchtime. Ordered before heading to the loo. Oh dear, typically Costa loos are pretty dirty but this one was so bad I called the manager. He told me he was only there today as they were short staffed! The loo looked as if it hadnt been cleaned in weeks... Starting to just use drive throughs as standards have hit rock bottom in most shops. Untrained staff who are surprised when you order coffee and hygiene in facilities very poor.

Step down I'm afraid from former costa. Coffee is so bitter had to gave sugar . Service poor...to busy chatting and had to ask again what I wanted. Why not write dow order and pass to bartista? Shame,as the shop us great.

God value premium coffee at only £1 a cup on offer. Wil-fi free. Not that much of a buzz here but good and spacious when raining outside.

Great staff, food and coffee and prices aren't bad

We were on our way to Cornwall but stayed the night in Cheltenham to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was pregnant at the time and had terrible sickness. All I ever fancied eating was tuna!! After three hours in the car, being sick into a bag after seeing any kind of food advert, a KFC billboard especially did some damage, it was a relief to get out of the car into the fresh air. When lunch time came I just wanted tuna and somewhere reliable! This branch of Costa caught our eye and it was fairly quiet inside so we grabbed a window seat and my husband went to order. When the barista bought our food over and placed the most perfect tuna panini in front of me I could've kissed her! Costa may not be fine dining by a long shot but when you're a hormonal pregnant woman with strong cravings you just need somewhere you know and this hit the spot!

Sad and surprised to see that Costa in Waterstones had closed when I called in today. Making way for a Waterstones cafe. The 'proper' Costa in Cheltenham doesn't have the same atmosphere at all, small and poky. I hope Waterstones puts at least a second toilet for the patrons use when the refurb is finished.

The staff here are fab and produce a great cappuccino too!

The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, they keep the place clean and well run.

Coffee shop is too small to sit in really - good for takeaway coffees on the way to work or whilst out shopping.

This Costa is the same as any other apart from one thing ... the staff. They were so friendly and welcoming that I could not fault one thing! And the lady with the ginger/red hair was so polite and kind. 10/10

Lovely friendly staff. We came in here as q in Starbucks over the road was long. Quite noisy in Costa though but maybe just the time we were in there.

Es muy tarde en octubre y estamos en la calle principal de Costa con muchos asientos disponibles. No a lo que estamos acostumbrados y nos gusta. Tomó un poco más de tiempo para hacer los cafés, pero no tenemos prisa. Acogedor, ordenado, limpio, cómodo. ¿Que mas puedo decir?

Central location Corner site. A bit dozy service but it was a dozy day. Show your Costa card before they take your cash Not after.

Im a regular customer to Costa and would have rated higher for this one but on this occasion had a little surprise.

I was in town and shopping. I needed a quiet few minutes so I went into Costa Coffee. The service was quick and easy. I ordered some food as well and the staff brought it over to my table. Really enjoyable experience.

Really very nice venue to drop into, the staff are always very polite and attentive. Also the food and drinks served are always very nice.

We visited this establishment for a much needed hot drink and snack at 5pm, having tried the local cafes who were all closing. The Costa was open until much later. Despite there being three members of staff behind the counter and no one waiting to be served or to have their order processed we waited five minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. I appreciate that they were busy cleaning the appliances but would at least have expected someone to say "be with you in a second!" If we hadn't been in such desperate need we would have walked out. This is not the kind of service I expect in a Costa or any other cafe. Needless to say we won't be returning.
