Costa Coffee in Edinburgh, City of

Avoid foid not heated long enough ,stock always low ,service slow ,not given full order,had to request glasses as well ,And not for first time ,closes 7pm 5.30 pm most tables cleaned and ordered off not allowed to sit ,they are in rush to close ,small tables that where left dirty had to ask to ge cleaned 6.10 pm light off and shutter down for the toasties ,the thing about it ,costa in next say go over to this shop as they close earlier ,avoid this shop

Seems closes an hour before stated should change your timetables

Shop is advertised as open until 7pm. This is shown on the door. I was told at 6:15pm that they were closed.

why do we pay for large to be given regular size in large cups shocking

Just been there and the amount of service was atrocious from the server. First of all she was so intense. The way she treated and talked to the delivery driver was embarrassing. Then when I asked for my coffee to be hotter she virtually told me to get out the shop.

Would it kill you to follow the instructions on the order? I ordered WHOLE MILK lattes and was sent tasteless skinny lattes.

Decent location, nice staff, expensive prices.

They were busy but the staff were extremely slow and were just handing stuff out to anyone. The person who seemed to be in charge was clearly stressed as the other 2 were doing nothing! Wictoria was on the till and she was blunt and rude to almost every customer and didn’t seem to have a clue what people were asking for. Everyone including us who asked for takeaway had to take the food back as we were given plates. Not okay!

Hot chocolate wasn't very hot but that's normal for Costa.

I didn't actually visit today, thanks for assuring me I did. My memory isn't quite that bad yet, in fact it's so good that I always remember not to go to Costas. I'd gladly recommend that you shouldn't either.

This is my favourite coffee shop by far. The staff are always extremely helpful and make the best coffee. Luis, Matthew and the rest of team always give the best customer service and I wouldn't go anywhere else

This place just replaced items with stuff that I don’t like. Rather than rejecting the order they just replaced items and left a note thinking it was acceptable. There was also missing items my son ordered. He’s autistic so had a meltdown his food didn’t arrive. Try being in my shoes explaining this to a 6 year old who doesn’t understand. It’s unacceptable

Three times in a row I’ve ordered WHOLE milk and three times in a row you’ve sent semi skimmed, what a waste of £15! Your coffees are not cheap so please get them right!

Just eat updated to "delivered" after the driver drove around for 10 minutes near by. Presumably he couldn't find the address so instead of calling, he updated the order to delivered. Nothing arrived but money taken.

I paid for a large coffee a medium coffee was delivered. This store can never get anything right.

Items arrived with no milk details written on them even though some were dairy free. The people who ordered dairy free were left being unable to drink their drink due to not knowing if it had milk in it or not!

Disappointing Coffee from this branch. Ordered a caramel latte, but I could've found more caramel in a plate of spaghetti bolognese! Served relatively quickly, and staff were polite, so there were no issues there. Male toilets would be better suited in The Shire, although I doubt even Frodo could fit in them! Practically have to climb on the loo to shut the door ... And I am by no means portly! Poor planning and not very customer friendly!

Drinks were still very hot, which is good, & arrived exactly on time, but they either forgot or did not have some of the food & didn’t call to let us know/find acceptable substitute, even though we paid for more food than we received.

Uber Delivery driver didn’t ring the door bell, brought the food and not the coffee’s.

Just dropped in for a quick hot chocolate. A standard Costa, clean and cosy.

It's fine for a coffee, quite busy but that was expected, everything was nice! Its good to have somewhere to stop and have a little rest at during a shopping trip!

It was a Costa, so nothing unusual. Extremely busy, largely because people were out Christmas shopping. Difficult to get a seat, though we did, and that was nobody's fault; it was simply the crowds. Young chap with service from behind the counter was very nice and efficient.

Won't be back here again that's for sure. Attitude from the barista making the drinks was disgusting, the look on her face clearly indicated that she didnt want to be there. Ordered a medium coconut white hot chocolate got given a small, so when i went back up to ask for the medium i paid for the said barista with the disguting attitude tutted and rolled her eyes.... she wasnt listening to a thing the male barista was telling her. She was rude and condescending towards him. We also ordered a flat white for to to be absolutely boiling hot when we didn't order it that way, ended up binning the entire order and leaving. I love costa but today has put me off completely.

It's very basic and a bit dowdy. Coffee was ok though.

Latte was Luke warm, cake was tasteless.

All fine. A typical Costa. Friendly staff, clean and tidy but it is a rip off for a coffee. Best to stick to local coffee shops id say.

The female staff member who made the coffees was not listening to a word the male staff member who took my order was saying. He said it was a small latte and a large latte both with the character roast to take away she then proceeded to make the large latte in a cup for sitting in then asked me if I was sitting in and I said no it was takeaway which the man who took my order had already told her she was rude to him, picked up the coffee in the cup and poured it into a takeaway cup. Neither coffee was made with the character roast (which costs extra) I am visually impaired and use a white cane and when I asked for a cup holder you would think I had asked her for the world. Its not easy to carry to cups and use a cane without having a cup holder. I use costa a lot and was extremely disappointed with this particular member of staffs attitude 😒

Great place for coffee and cake.

Went in here in uniform (a bus driver) to buy a coffee, went to go to the loo before I did only to be accosted by a member of staff yelling in front of the whole place "the toilets are for customer use only". I replied I was coming in to get a coffee but needed the toilet first again in front of the whole store. Mortified doesn't really cut it. I will not return, which seems rediculous considering how much money I've spent in their stores.

Very friendly staff make a good first impression. Excellent cappuccino, best in a while in a Costa. Queue area well screened from the seating area, feels more airy than similar sized Costa's. Tables cleared frequently as well and generally very clean.

Long delays in getting the orders done as staff too busy talking to each other instead of the customer.

Now serve HOT coffee. Great toasties too!

Just had a coffee and bacon roll excellent.

Good customer service, nice tea's & coffee if u like a coffee instead, good place 2 sit in if u want but could stay open 4 a wee bit longer so those that have just finished work in different locations can come & get a hot drink or a cold drink & relax 4 a wee bit.

Excellent staff and the place is neat and tidy. Only 4 stars though as the place looks dated, like it came from early 00s. If management reads this - push for a refurb! 👍

I often go meet friends, find it very warm and friendly, we take about 2 hours and we are never hurtied out
