Costa Coffee in Edinburgh, City of

Popped in for a caffeine boost whilst out shopping at Next in Fort Kinnaird. The Costa is upstairs in Next itself, adjacent to the Home Department. Lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes etc alongside the usual coffee menu. I had a Latte which was perfect. Very relaxing environment and love the fact it is inside the Next store. So handy.

The main reason for my visit was to kill a bit of time on a wet day while others kept on shopping. I tried one of their new Xmas drinks (Irish Velvet latte) but I really couldn't taste whatever was meant to be added into it. However it was drinkable, the coffee was nice and hot and I could savour it while reading my kindle until the others were finished shopping.

Called in for a Latte, extremely busy and after waiting for a while in the queue was given my Latte which could best be described as a glass of tasteless hot milk. Not impressed and wont be back !

If you are about to start your journey down the A1 why not top up with a coffee from the new drive through beside the Range. Fast service with excellent service and good knowledgeable staff Coffee was spot on and really enjoyable

Americano, and a latte. Yep. Coffee was great. Had asked if we could heat up home made stovies for our toddlers lunch that we had frozen. The girl at the desk looked worried but said okay, as long as the manager didn’t see. 20 seconds later she gave us the stovies back still frozen and now ruined. Had to go to another cafe and buy lunch for our boy. Shocking! As we have previously been allowed to heat up the kids lunch at other franchises of the chain!

Any shoe shopping trip with kids is always a bit fraught, so the Costa Coffee above Next at Fort Kinnaird is well placed for a break for Mums, Grannies, toddlers and babies. On a Friday afternoon, after buying boots for our 4 year old, we took the lift there, and it had plenty of seating and high chairs for our 1 year old. The usual Costa menu, including warm milk for little ones, and delicious cakes and muffins. Room for toddlers to let off a bit of energy too. It’s the only coffee shop at this side of the complex, so a welcome appearance.

It seems a bit pointless them have big posters advertising cakes that they no longer sell!! Other than that, this Costa is ok. Slightly dearer than others. Quick service.

Went here the other day and it was filthy, tables not wiped down, tray the coffee was on was dirty, the machines looked dirty, the toilets were so in need of a clean I couldn’t use them. One of the staff restocking the fridge at the front dropped a bottle of something, kicked it over the floor to the fridge then put it on display anyway. Need someone in here to get the staff in to shape. Will not be back.

Place is so run down it’s no even a pleasure to stay here, had coffee n cake and it wasn’t enjoyable at all the seats where rocky the tables were shaking and tables were Uncleaned we had to do it ourself and it’s not cheap 2 cappucinno 2 cakes n bag muffins just about £15 I think I might be changing brands

Unfortunately this is quite a small outlet. Not many comfortable seats to use to feed a baby. The coffee tasted as good as any other Costa though

Went into Fort Kinnaird ODEON Costa and was quite taken aback at the sloppy unprofessional hurried and incompetent two women behind the counter. Flat White- Flat Milk more like! I had to go back up and ask for a shot of coffee as this was very unacceptable - she said that there was a shot in it but poured me a coffee that had been sitting already made. My partner ended up going to complain as his coffee was very poor - we ended up walking out. We met a friend on his way to Costas and we advised him NOT to go in- he went to NEROS Coffee instead. Get your act together COSTA.

This was an uninspiring venue - firstly , when we ordered a simple Coffee ( Mocha ) and Tea - not only was there NO - repeat - no milk provided (I had to go up and ask for some - when there was a long queue starting to build up ) - but above all , the Cup and Teaspoon provided for my wife was filthy ( and clearly not washed properly ) despite the fact that there were two hard-pressed Barista's working - the other server was pretty clueless - so again I had to interfere in the serving process and ask for a clean cup and spoon and when we left the queue was at the door ( see photo ) and not moving fast at all I will be glad when the Starbucks they are building at the entrance to Fort Kinnaird gets completed - with this venue - its search and avoid .

Now open a few months Costa in Gorgie Road is a warm, friendly place to relax and catch up with friends. Spacious and comfortable it offers all you might expect from a quality coffee shop.

12.45 P.M. Weds. 7th. Sept. 2016. This has to be the worst cup of coffer I've ever had in all the years I've used the Costa chain. The regular Fort Kinnaird branch was very busy so we decided to visit the Odeon one. When we went to get served there was only ONE customer already sitting nursing a drink but busy on the laptop. My wife ordered tea and a Flat White for me. In reply to "anything else" I pointed out that the whole place was FREEZING cold due to the fanned air all over from the units in the ceiling (there was no seat where we could escape it) and was told that it was because it was too warm behind the counter. So much for customers coming first I ended up with a coffee which can only be described as 'extra weak'. I have never tasted one so bad. It was basically hot milk with a coffee 'tinge' It was as if she had only put a very small amount of espresso in on purpose. She obviously KNEW what she was doing. Needless to say we will never set foot in that place again after this experience. It's about time that Costa regional managers read these comments and took some action.

Excellent for decent coffee to take into cinema. Never too busy. Staff are very quick, good service and staff will chat and ask what film you are off to see. Very friendly

Asked for a large Chai Latte with Skimmed milk, which led to muttering from the "manageress" She then proceeded to dump loads of cinnamon on the top. It felt I had eaten at least 10 cinnamon altoids. My husband returned it and they made another one that was slightly better but by that time, everything tasted of cinnamon. No soap in the toilets. Not a great costa on the south bridge.

We stopped at Costa for a Coffee while we were shopping at Fort Kinnaird. The Café was clean and tables cleared, while the two staff members kept the queue moving. A good Costa, delivering their known quality coffees.

Costa is a popular chain that never fails at providing great coffee, hot chocolate, sandwiches & cakes! Good place to chill out and relax with a book

Went to Costa Coffee at Fort Kinnaird while on a shopping day out. Only wanted to buy 2 take away drinks. Had to queue with several other people for a long time while the 3 girls working all had their backs to us and were washing dishes and tidying up. No acknowledgement that we were there or even to say they would be with us shortly. Toilets were a mess and also seen a whole pile of milk packets lying on the floor instead of being put in the fridge.

We visited for a coffee after a meal next door. The service was excellent, really friendly + fast. Nice for after a meal or before a movie.

We visited last night for a quick drink. Service was quick and friendly. Cinema was busy and there was a soundtrack of movie tunes, which made for a good atmosphere.

Visited for coffee after a meal. Service was quick, good range of cakes (although no more giant bourbons!! :-( ) Only complaint was floor was covered in food debris, ie bits of sandwiches, biscuits and lots of crumbs.

A busy hustle bustling coffee bar. Very quick service, very very hot and strong coffee. Enough said!

Last week me and my family went to Costa coffee at the fort we were served by what I can only describe as a arrogant unhelpful rude woman! We orderd our food and drink and the woman who I only know her first name as jennifer took a eternity to serve us chatting with her co workers about her personal life. When I complaned about the time she was taking as I had 3 children with me who were all wanting fed. She gave me a dirty look and said you can just wait! And continued chatting whitch at this point she stated to her colleague some people are f ing a hole s. At this point I removed my children from the shop away foul mouthed terrible employee of Costa. I have never had service like this in my life and certainty will never use any Costa again as this is the type of person the are quite obviously happy to employ who will swear at customers in front of children!

Costa coffee is our coffee shop of choice wherever we go and on a trip to Fort Kinnaird today we visited this branch and were very disappointed overall. It was busy but there were still a number of tables waiting to be cleared, the chair seats were grubby (we did a little furniture shifting in order to find a reasonably clean seat), our lattes were not very hot and our trip to the cloakrooms just put the lid on it. The ladies cubicle which is very cramped had the usual notice about hand washing but this could not be done as the wash basin was blocked and the basin was half full of dirty water going nowhere. I am told that the men's loo was very dirty, not because it did not appear to have been cleaned this morning but because it had lots of ingrained dirt. I would suggest that Costa Coffe sort out their Fort Kinnaird branch before they lose customers to the numerous other coffee shops which have suddenly appeared at "The Fort".
