Costa Coffee in Tendring

The staff where friendly enough and customer focused. HOWEVER, the duty manager was completely rude and not customer focused. She is the type of person that stops me wanting to part with my money. It was suppose to be a treat fore and my mum, which was ruined by her. The tables were filled with dirty trays, she also didn't put any day dots on the the cakes she got out and was picking cutlery up with her hands touching the parts that you put into your mouth. Since she's been working there the atmosphere is marred. I would rather sit in a dirty pigsty. The pigs would be more friendly. Hurry up and open Starbucks (even though it's not my go to coffee outlet) Change your attitude, if not change your sour face. Perhaps customer facing roles are not for you.

I was in Costa at the waterglade with my family, spent a fair bit of money as always, I used the toilet and lifted the handle as I always do and I make sure it's locked, a little girl managed to open the door and was a good job I had finished, I told the young girl behind the counter that the lock might need looking at and she spoke to me like I was a 6 year old, I'm an older lady and I've been locking the toilet doors for many years, I did not appreciate being spoke to like I was stupid especially in front of customers, well I won't be returning here which is a real shame

There isn't a great choice of places to have coffee in Clacton so we went for Costa which is normally reliable. We arrived about 1 hour before closing but as they were cleaning we had to sit at a table at the rear. The barista told the customer before me that she only had skimmed milk which doesn't make the best coffee but luckily I spotted a small amount of full fat milk on the side. We had cortado coffees which were ok but really too milky. I heard the barista tell other customers she was out of ice and out of change so she could only accept cash. Better to get here early in the day before they have run out of everything.

My husband and I joined the queue yesterday lunch time. We waited to be served for 15 mins noticing that the young male member of staff was only dealing with phone orders, leaving a female member of staff to deal with the queue. Another female member of staff walked through the back door with her hair round her face (half in a side pony tale the rest had fallen out), she was chewing, mouth open, something white, which she went on to unpick from her teeth with her finger and then continued to use the till. She then moved away from the till, and her colleague then also used the till! We chose to leave at this point! Covid or no covid, this is discusting! It made us think about how clean everything else was. They use tongs for the cakes, but if they think sticking a finger in their mouth to unpick a sweet is hygenic behaviour, then I will never visit this coffee shop again! The staff didn't wear masks either, which many shops and pubs are continuing to do.

Sadly went there for a nice coffee and cake - to catch up with a dear friend. Was given rude instructions not to sit at any of the empty tables and refused me to sit and wait at a small table out of the way, due to social distancing , she rolled her eyes and called a collegue who offered a tiny chair near to the entrace - not Social Distanced at all. I was very dissapointed and upset as there was at least 3 empty tables away from the rest of crowd. Chairs legs had been tied together and it looked awful not inviting or organised at all ! I took my custom elsewhere and would never recommend it with such rude staff and their rubbish service!

Often come to this branch however recently they have taken to closing early. Regularly close half an hour or an hour early so come early or be disappointed. Also the staff can be somewhat rude. And finally, they recently put codes on the toilet doors. Ok, I get their reasons. But, the handles have been put so far up that children and those on wheelchairs cannot access them, even the accessible one. Am changing the branches I visit.

With some new staff , the place is loads better and I will definitely visit again 😊 Staff we’re friendly and the cafe was clean .

Upstairs in Next is a Costa offering toilets, food like snacks cakes etc with wide selection in coffee, or in my case not chocolate

Nice friendly staff, it does get quite busy but its nice to meet up with friends. I did notice that the toilets as I have said before are not the best for cleanliness which is a shame and lets it down slightly.

Decided to pop in for a coffee after a day of shopping even treated ourselves to a cake. Excellent service, perfect coffee and cake

Met with my friend for a coffee cake and a catch up and a nice cool mango juice which was delicious.The staff were lovely and the service was good Then we did a spot of shopping in Next. However, I visited the toilet before we left and I have to say COSTA they were dirty the toilet brush was disgusting and if that is the hygiene standards of Costa I'm not sure I will visit them again. Please Please sort this out ASAP it was disgusting.

Once again! Disappointed with costa coffee! Popped in today for cold drinks with my daughter asked for a new watermelon and coconut cooler which had no flavour of coconut and just a hint of watermelon, when I told the staff they just said sorry not can I add more flavour or can I change it for you? So I told them to chuck it in the bin! Try training your staff on how to make the drinks properly or the flavours haven’t been researched enough, my opinion the staff need training better!not the first time I’ve had flavour problems with costa coffee considering the prices you charge!

Excelente cafe, Capuccino e ótimo em qualquer horário do dia. Comi um muffin de limao e um bolo de banana. Atendimento tbm muito bom.

Go in one Costa and you've pretty much been in them all. They all sell the same food and same drinks. That said it was a pleasant environment and drinks were good as usual

Standard Cost food and drink but staff are very chatty and friendly. Sometimes tables get a bit too stacked.

Sólo disfrutar de café, si una persona hace. No puedo recordar su nombre. alto muchacho. La en la ciudad es horrible. . frío horrible café. El tío de allí. Tenía un problema de actitud cuando le dije que mi café wS frío. . el aspecto que me dio. Simplemente grosero! ! Nunca voy en la ciudad uno ya no.

Nos desilusionarse cuando llegamos como 16 mesas vacías estaban llenos de vasos y bandejas utilizadas, etc.

Fast and friendly staff and service, always enjoy Costa, on the go or as in this case a nice relaxing coffee sat inside!

Such a lovely place to go. Staff very friendly. However just one down point from me. That I would love to see more gluten free items in all Costa's as I find it hard to have a munch with my coffee.

What can I say Costa Coffee, what's not to love. My only criticism is it is too hot where you sit down. Turn up the air conditioning

Estado aquí dos veces y el problema persiste, el lugar está sucio, tazas y bandejas en casi todas las mesas, mobiliario y pedorra demasiado pocas personal teniendo en cuenta lo lleno que está.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Coffee nice and hot. Only criticism is that the tables always need emptying.

Absolutely delighted to find Costa Coffee in Clacton-on-Sea. Very clean, wide choice of varieties, Friendly and competent staff, a pleasure to visit.

My hubby and I love coming and chilling in here. Excellent service every visit by the friendly team. Always clean. Superb coffee, do enjoy a salted caramel muffin. Never have to wait very long to be served.

Having two Costa's in town is great, I enjoyed shopping at Halfords and then Next before enjoying a nice Cappuccino. Service was quick, unlike previous occasions when there were less staff.

Water glade Costa clacton is best by far,I have tried quite a few of them,most don't know how to make a decent coffee,the manager in clacton one ,think her name is dawn ,is lovely,makes the best one I've had so far, a mocha, the shop in clacton town,will not be going back,tried it a few times,coffee always tastes awful,

Was shopping in next outlet when the aroma of Coffee around the shop called us...service quick tables clean not overly busy, but disappointed in the coffee weak......enjoyable space to overlook the car park..good for people watching...comfy chairs. Looks good..but sorry to say coffee not up to spec...

My first visit to this retail park.Costa is absolutely spot on.You know what to expect but sometimes Costa falls way below expectations.This particular venue lead by Dawn and Jack is great with a well motivated team providing great service.Well done.Spotless loos all good.

Coffee overpriced and bitter! Very disappointing as it used to be a nice place to go. And the one in town is even worse with miserable staff to add.

Absolutely love having a costa in my favourite clothes shop. It is always clean and fresh and are able to provide top coffee every time.

After eventually finding the lift in 'Next' we made our way through the 'smellies' section to find the Cafe. We went about a month after first opening as a treat....OMG, you need a second mortgage for the prices they charge!! The coffee my husband had was awful and to be honest tasted more like cigarette ash (I think it was a Cappuccino) and my hot chocolate tasted like any other hot chocolate from anywhere, and certainly didn't warrant it's price - I think it cost almost £8.00 - for 2 hot drinks!!! Perusing the menu behind the counter, there's nothing there that's quite affordable to allow us to go in there more frequently, to perhaps try other beverages - It's a shame

Situado en el primer piso de al lado es un bonito, limpio y luminoso bar cafetería que sirve una buena variedad de tés y cafés. Hemos estado aquí dos veces en 7 días ya que sé que el servicio y las bebidas son siempre muy bueno y el personal amable.

Esto es bastante nueva Costa a la siguiente tienda, es luminosa, bien ventilada y bien amuebladas. El personal es amable y eficiente, especialmente Olga que hizo de ella para asegurarse de que teníamos exactamente lo que queríamos antes de que estaba registrado en el recibo. La comida es el habitual, una variedad que se ofrece en la mayoría de las Costa Coffee shops y hay una buena selección de tartas y pasteles. En general esta cafetería es una gran adición a los cafés de Clacton y espero que lo bien fundamentadas ya no está en el centro de la ciudad. Una visita que vale la pena!
