Awful service, Felt very understaffed, with a long cue to get in and previous visitors drinks still on many tables. With lots of mess all over. Got the order wrong 3 times, and spilt the drinks when served. Was not apologetic at all. Drinks were disgusting and very overpriced for the size of them. Bakery goods were very average, with strange after tastes. My partner was unable to finish her drink. Worst Costa we have ever visited! Will not be visiting again!!!

I would like to sty the chap who took our order was very busy taking orders, took in a large delivery, gave the toilets a really good clean and was amazing, didnt catch his name but think he might have been French.

Milky weak lattes, but we expect this in a Costa and only use them when no alternative is available. Friendly staff. Costs needs to stop serving some of their drinks/ices in plastic cups with lids, especially when people are sitting in to drink them as they should be using reusable cups

As a Costa Coffee fan this was my first visit to the Teignmouth Costa Coffe Shop. As with all Costas enjoyed the coffee. Staff were friendly and always clearing tables which is rare in most other Costa's. Because of the staff attention to detail it was clean and presentable inside. One more thing to add and this is a big thumbs up for the staff. The toilet was the cleanest I've ever been in and I've been in a lot of Costa Coffee Shops.

Oh dear! I should have known better, having stopped visiting COSTA COFFEE, just as I have CAFE NERO and STARBUCKS.....but in my defence it was raining hard when I visited Teignmouth and so I gave COSTA another chance, and boy did they let me down The coffee, just a basic Americano, was simply dreadful and so I just left the nearly full cup alone There appeared little point in making a fuss to the fluffy, wide-eyed member of staff who had attempted to make my coffee, so I upped and left Strangely these generic coffee chains remain popular and I wonder why Perhaps its because the British have been brought up to think Nescafe and other similar brands are actually coffee! Oh and before anyone thinks I might prefer coffee in the good old US of A.... no I don't....have you ever tried the tasteless coffee offered up in most chain coffee houses across the pond? There are small, usually privately-owned coffee bars in both the UK and USA that offer fabulous coffee, but COSTA COFFEE and the other chains most certainly DO NOT! Must remember my flask next time

Costa Coffee by and large is a good place to stop for coffee as the quality of the drink is usually good although I find their Latte a bit weak so always ask for an extra shop, then its perfect. What I liked about this Costa in Teignmouth was the fact that we could bring our dog inside which is not the case with Costa everywhere. Horsham, where we live for example although Cafe Nero does welcome dogs so we are sorted here for that. I found that Devon in general is much more dog friendly than anywhere near to London.

Just completed a busy day outside in the sun on the Bank Holiday Monday in August, its 4.30 pm trying to find a place for a coffee but not a public house. Eventually found the Costa using my mobile search which struggled with the GPS because of narrow streets and tall buildings. Being a Bank Holiday most places had closed, but the Costa was still going to be open till 5.00 pm, ordered an Americano Coffee and a Tiffin. Free WiFI and a mains socket to plug my charger in for my mobile, relax. Get ready for my rail trip home to Barnstaple. The staff were very polite, friendly an talkative, the air conditioning was welcome after being in the sun most of the day.

This is an amazing Costa. We visited Teignmouth for the day on a 2 week break back in July. We had remembered last year that we was able to take our little dog in.We headed straight for Costa and it was obvious that they were very dog friendly, there were signs on the door and window. It was lovely they even came and gave our little dog a biscuit.Well done to this Costa the best we have ever been into and we will be paying them a visit on our next trip to Devon. Shame that all Costas cannot take a leaf out of this Branches book. They are really missing a trick, so many are empty but this one was full.We have taken our little dog into quite a few Café Nero but much prefer Costa. This one is lovely and clean with lovely staff and of course amazing coffee.

At times the place is tantamount to a pre-school creche where unruly mothers allow their kids to roam/run around with great noise and much annoyance to my fellows. The staff are not empowered (wanting) to deal with the situation of the few that effect the more. Use this location only for take-out as the "mob" could arrive and ruin the "relax".... and then you'll wish that you had opted for the to-go. Those sea gulls are less intrusive to your personal/ear space.

As I expected, the coffee was great, but certainly not the best Costa I have visited. There was one customer ahead of me only having 3 drinks so not a long list, but the wait........! I didn't check how long but it was at least a 10 minute wait which is not acceptable when it wasn't busy. In other Costa's, the barista's warm the cups and the teapot, but not here. In all a disappointing experience.

Usual Costa - you could be anywhere in the world! Good coffee as usual, staff do their best but probably not enough of them employed to keep the outside area clean and tidy - every time I pass by now the tables have dirty plates and cups on them. Popped in today with the family and our friend , Fozzy. We all enjoyed a coffee and my little lad enjoyed a hot chocolate. However, disaster was on the horizon and he dropped his hot chocolate all over the floor. My son was devastated, there was marshmallows and cream all over the place. Far from the staff being annoyed or upset one worker went to get the mop and bucket and the manager said 'don't worry, I will make you a replacement on the house' that was great service and the ideal way to resolve the situation. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.

Friday 15th May, just finished our chips, from Finn Mccools, in the blustery conditions on the prom, it was time for a warming coffee. We walked around the corner into Bank Street and there it was the welcome beacon that is the Costa sign. The place was rather busy as it was lunchtime, there were 2 members of staff that we could see, the Manager and the Barista, they worked well together as a team to ensure waiting time was kept to a minimum. The Barista was one of the speediest have even seen in a Costa so our order was prepared in record time, which was appreciated as we were a bit chilly having been sat on prom eating chips.Good coffee in Bank Street with equally good service.

ok I don't like writing a bad review but this peeved me of quite a lot....so the coffee we had was excellent as always! Tried the caramel cappuccino while my friend tried the roasted hazelnut latte! very tasty! The guy who served us didn't greet us with a smile and didn't seem to care less which In general to be honest! I didn't mind as I was just glad to get into the warm from the cold weather! After sitting down a woman with a cute dog sits down next to us. Moments later this man comes up....I'm guessing from his smarter uniform that he was the manager or assistant manager...anyways he comes over and says in a very, very, very rude/sarcastic tone to this woman something along the lines of "excuse me mam but can WE not have the dog on the carpet. Put him over on the tiled area or go outside". She looks a bit lost for words and says ok. I look around and I think REALLY? the carpet area is absolutely filthy with sand brought in and it looks disgusting! Let the poor woman sit there in the warm with her dog! She goes outside and doesn't come back. Lost a customer there mate! well done! I like costa coffee a lot and enjoy treating myself to it once in a while but wow! What terrible staff and manners! Gave it 2/5 instead of 1/5 just because of the good coffee!

Very friendly staff and a beautifully laid out venue. Nice and relaxing when we popped in for a hot chocolate and cake. Comfy chairs, not squashed in and lovely food. I know Costa's appearance in Teignmouth hasn't been popular with the other coffee shop owners, but this is run by a local franchise owner so is still a local business in my eyes. It is certainly good to visit and we will return. Have also had take outs from here and they were just as good.

Lovely food, classic pub grub but done well and reasonably priced. Liver was excellently cooked, slightly pink and soft and packed full of flavour. Service was good, we were checked back on, meals came promptly and cleared when finished. Nice cold wine and kids meals substantial for the price! Only marked down one star as bar is always busy (not a bad thing), but just makes it sometimes awkward leaning over drinkers to order food. However, always highly recommended for both food and drinks.

Bovey Castle is certainly a beautiful and interesting location. However, with all their grounds parking spaces are a premium. Eventually, we were offered a space in a coned off area. A very well appointed building as your would expect for a Five Star Hotel. We began with an aperitif 'Gusbourne English Sparkling' which was superb. A absolutely delightful bar. Smith's Brasserie! Well, let's begin with the positives. Excellent welcome and staff were fantastic throughout our Birthday lunch. Extremely unimaginative menu to say the least. A nice enough starter. Perhaps would have expected freshly made mayonnaise, not from a bottle, in such an establishment. Pleasant enough bottle of rose, although there was a choice of ONE. My wife (Birthday Girl) and I opted for pasta dishes. Absolutely clueless when it comes to pasta dishes. Packet spaghetti with prawns (four small ones) and a Provencal sauce? Very little of it too. It is an Italian dish and the sauce requires mixing in the pasta. Tagliatelle, again from a packet, with some type of utterly non-descript cream sauce at the bottom of the dish. Totally unseasoned dishes. The cooking water needs to taste of the sea. Therefore, seasoned. No offer of cheese or pepper or pangrattato, nothing, and certainly no theatre. Huge improvements required I'm afraid to make an enjoyable dining experience. Dress Code: Expectations, as you would imagine were high. Staff were smart, but could have been better attired for such a hotel. Clientele: Lots of jeans and un-ironed tee shirts wondering around and dining. A pair of football shorts and dirty trainers at one table, others with feet on the chairs in the bar and the final straw was a couple arriving in towelling dressing gowns and flip flops. NO! Sorry. There's a time and a place and this is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this was a lunch to judge if a weekend stay would be appropriate for our anniversary and it simply is not good enough.
