Costa Coffee in St Albans

All Costa have to do is follow the order instructions. Asked for 4 sugars in the bag and a large latte - received what is clearly a large filter coffee with 2 sugars. Having worked for Costa I know it’s quite easy

Good place for coffee, and the staff were very friendly with a great atmosphere in the cafe. Would have been great if the washrooms were well maintained and cleaned!

Not a coffee fan, I make the best at home and didn't understand the hype about queuing for one especially. It's been here a good few years now and I've been caught short this morning rushing about and I felt dizzy and I refuse to eat McDonald's breakfast so I just ordered an egg & spinach bap and in case I didn't like that a tuna melt with a cup of tea. £10.50. Not too bad price wise however my hunch was right. Bland beyond belief, both choices, like eating cardboard. I think at least add in salt & pepper sachets at checkout. The tea was lovely though and the young lads working here were fantastic service wise. Not quite sure what type of person eats here as I thought the brits were becoming food educated. Boring in my opinion, I'd rather give my money to a tasty local independent.

Always have issues with this Costa, forgetting whole items off the order every time. They’ll charge you but won’t give you what you’ve paid for

Friendly staff. Can be busy so service can be a bit slower, but very acceptable.

Highly recommend the bre and cranberry toastie, The hot chocolate was actually still pretty warm. My order took so long to process however after that delivery was quick (I live like 15 mins away)

Good Costa with drive through staff helpful in my experience.

So far my coffee and pastry are good, atmosphere is ok. The only things I don’t like about this place is…the toilets seem very dirty even you went early morning, it seem dirty and look like never been clean at all which make you have doubted about the overall cleanliness in food, cups and etc. you can see their floor are dirty and full of stuff on the floor.

Hot chocolate not hot. This always seems to be the case with all Costa shops 😕

The blonde lady with an accent is very rude and argues for no reason. She threw hot chocolate at my face and forced me to get out the store

I love this Costa the last time I was there the manager who was covering from the Galleria Costa noticed I was feeling unwell with the heat I am 79 and was on my own they were so kind to me, I would like to say thank you so much for their kind attention x

Didn't have tea we asked for, told after we paid then picked another one which I believe was slightly cheaper but no effort made to check this, also given lemon end skill peel rather than a people piece of lemon, and my friend looked at strangely when requested a proper piece of lemon. Terrible service overall from a luxury brand during times of asturity.

The team that was working on 19.3.23 worked well together. There was evidence of routine whilst ensuring the staff maintained great customer service.

This is a Toblerone latte, came without the chocolate and in a very dirty glas it was half full. Never been in a such bad Costa before .

Yesterday I had one of the worst experiences at this branch. I was up to this point a regular! The staff got my order wrong from the start, she was then rude when I asked her to rectify it (after all I paid for a product, I believe I still have the right to receive what I pay for). I was nothing but polite and patient with her. The hole situation then escalated to another staff member rudely telling me that I have been rude only because I said to her why is it so hard to understand an espresso with cold milk (cold latte) , to a standing by customer who didn’t have a clue what was going on, but took it upon himself to get involved and then ended up threatening me with violence. Mind you, I’m a female. Honestly an incompetent unprofessional staff and impossible to get hold of Costa complain department. I have been told that the staff dealing with my order was having a bad day! I also have a bad day as human beings do , but don’t treat people with such a disregard and disrespect! If you can’t handle working with people , why not look into other options! Disgrace and substandard service with hint of xenophobia!

Great service great people. Y'all know why it's called Costa though best have ten arms or ten legs before hand. Still great place great people.

You gotta love a Costa, especially the hit chocolate when it's made properly. Only downside the differing prices from franchise to franchise 🤷🏾‍♂️👍🏾

A new store located in a small shopping complex with a B&Q, The Range, & Aldi store nearby. Internally a very clean well laid out Costa with plenty of customer seating with the usual offering of Costa Coffees & snack food, I.e. toasties, delicious smoked bacon rolls, cakes & biscuits. Also provided is a drive through option for coffee etc on the go, & outside seating weather permitting. Staff encountered were all polite, professional & friendly.

Come here all the time as there's space to work in a super clean cafe with amazing batistas.

I went to buy a hot chocolate took me a 30 min wait for me to order I asked to eat in but gave me a take away cup and no mask for a one also hot chocolate not even warm

We're vegan and lactose intolerant. We waited ages for oat milk coffees but they gave us dairy milk instead, which we obviously couldn't drink. Waste of time and money.

I come here regularly with my friend. To the point the staff are like family. Such a friendly atmosphere plus perfect coffee. Clean and tidy and the staff are so helpful. Best investment to this area 100% just wish they were open later 😃

Here we are nearly noon and not any hot food or not even a sandwich. Staff having to stand about with nothing to do. Could try clearing tables. Not the Costa I know.......

Nice and quiet spot to catch up with friends, the only disappointing thing would be the lack of options for lunch items especially vegan or vegetarian options.

It's all milk and a touch of coffee. Costa always churns out weaker, tasteless coffee compared to the rest.

Set on a new retail park developed on what was the site of the gas towers. Good indoor area, seating available outside and drive thru. Good service. Useful place to get a coffee while shopping 👍

Nice food and drinks, very comfy, slightly cold inside. The toilets need more regular looking after, I noticed an older lady struggling to access any of them due to them being, as she said "way too disgusting", therefore I think cleaning should be made a bigger priority than just standing behind the till and chatting.

I hadn't the app, but was told very rudely by this lady server to get out , but my mate put me into system,this other nice and kind lady said she's always like that to customers, I think think she needs to see the manager to get a warning and don't bring your problems into work , other girl with tattoos was ever so polite and friendly she needs a raise ,but il never go in there again , should give no stars but the cheese sandwich 🥪 was nice,

This has to be the best drive through I have been to for any chain ever! Ordering was easy and very clear. The person taking the order was extremely pleasant, polite, helpful and clearly spoken. This was followed by attentive and friendly staff when collecting our order. Such a joy when coming out of hibernation to experience such wonderful customer service. Thank you so much.

I really like the taste of Costa Coffee and my teen kids love the hot chocolates and in summer, the fruit coolers so I know its somewhere we will all be able to choose a drink and if needed some food! I now use the app to order ahead, which is v convenient and then can pick up and go, especially useful in Covid times.

Quick service, very pleasant staff and love their food.

They continue to serve the standard range as takeaways. Not the same as sitting inside but the best all of us can do at present.

Cant say anything bad really.. staff were helpful got what I ordered pretty quick using the drive through. Price is fair enough for a posh drink..
