Costa Coffee in Mid Devon

I have just had a quick break with my dad today. Lauren and Matt were lovely and the service was extremely quick. The hot chocolate and latte that we ordered were also really good, so everything was wonderful!

Poor service, the staff member was on her phone and wasn’t particularly interested in serving us. Also the prices seem to have spot up and it wasn’t worth it for a lukewarm drink.

Small iced coffee all ice smidgen of milk coffee 3.25 outrageous more ice than anything else it was watery and no taste whatsoever

Lovely creamy coffee with a great depth of flavour well done to the barista and great service from the server Emily lovely and approachable even if feeling under the weather . Keep it up girls

Dissapointing service all round. No staff cleaning tables, so some were very dirty. They got our order wrong but were polite about it and also missed a frappe. The frappe I got tasted watered down and hardly had any cream on. Despite this, prices were high, with a medium hot chocolate being £4.15. Really poor, I’ll make sure to avoid next time I drive past…

While this service station is an older one and small it is very well run and the Costa Coffee shop is excellent. It was efficient, well run and clean. Well worth a quick stop off the M5 and miss out the busier one at Exeter.

Over crowded, no control of numbers, very unsafe, poorly stocked for food. Toilets unsafe, no provision for Covid safety. One way system signage but not followed or monitored. Other service stations have taped off basins to ensure safety and distancing. This was not done here. WAs very relieved to leave and certainly won’t return. Stay safe _ don’t visit.

Virtually no food, incredibly slow and servers with miserable attitudes and expressions. Eventually got coffee, expect better from Costa!

Just stopped off for a coffee & toastie, very happy friendly staff. Kayleigh is an asset to the company! Food good and coffee delicious as usual... Thanks guys keep up the good work!

Stopped for a quick coffee on drive home. Was quiet. Service was okay but staff chatting to each other rather than thinking of service provided.

We arrived hungry after an early breakfast and three and a half hours being driven in a coach. We had very tasty capuvcchino coffees and toasted sandwiches which filled the bill admirably and all for just over £13. A nice stop setting us up for a 5 hour journey ahead

Visited Costa Coffee at Cullompton Services Friendly and helpful staff Only had coffees which were tasty but not really hot enough Cakes and snacks looked fresh and tasty Worth visiting

I was sold scalding hot coffee and burnt my mouth. Professional baristas do not burn coffee. I took a sip expecting the usual temperature and ended up having to spit it out in public. Ouch!

Popped in for coffee here and iced coffee and late both only had half coffee shot as cup wouldn't handle both sides of dispenser. Very poor service. Don't bother.

Popped into Costa Coffee for a break and a hot chocolate on Saturday. This Costa is situated within the convenient M5 motorway services accessible either northbound or southbound, but is on the northbound side. Friendly staff and great facilities.

Not sure how it is possible to ruin a pre-packed Costa bacon roll but they somehow managed it. Will not be stopping here again.

The problem with this service area as a whole, including the car parking, and this Costa in particular is that it is just not big enough to meet the demand.This was early April.Costa Staff were helpful and organised but queue waiting either to order or receive drinks backs up into main throughway to the toilets.Can’t imagine what it is like in height of season. Giving this service area a miss in future.

A huge thank you to Kayleigh and her staff for kindly finding and keeping safe my jacket and its valuable contents left on my chair and for helping with the arrangements for collection . The coffee was good too !

Went to counter. My wife noticed that the large menu above the counter advertised fruit teas as something new. Asked for one and the person behind the counter without any hint of apology said "we don't do that now". Ordered a warm croissant but got a cold one, they almost forgot the tiffin my wife ordered. First attempt at a large cappuccino failed because they prepared a medium one. They did apologise for this I must admit but seemed to have been given the wrong instructions by the female with the beehive hairdo who had told us about the fruit tea. The foam on the cappuccino wasn't as stable as usual and ended up just being a coffee with a bit of breaking foam.

I once read the services at Cullompton were the worst in the country however from my experience today they have moved on

Comfortable and clean and plenty of seating inside and out if the McDonalds people have not misappropriated it. Good choice of soft drinks and some excellent paninis. Recommended

I really think this place has improved since my last review but I wished they’d realise that soy milk needs shaking before use to release the added calcium which settles to the bottom of the terra pack during storage!

Came in on my travels, to be greeted by a lovely young member of staff who pleasantly welcomed me and after making my drink(which was made beautifully) I was told to have a nice day which filled me with joy. The girl looked quite young but she was blonde and she was very polite. Overall the Costa in cullompton is very clean and the toilets and floors look spotless. The tall cleaner man who works there was very pleasant and did a spot on job.

Stopped at this small services Anne ate at Costa. Lovely staff & couldn’t have been more helpful with bringing piping hot food & giving me takeaway bag for my naughty but nice brownie!

Never reviewed a Costa before but thought I’d review this one given they supplied me with my first Christmas Gingerbread Latte of 2017! Thanks guys!

Tables needed to be cleared. One table had cups, plates and trays piled on it. Mocha and hot chocolate were mediocre. Service was very a 'take it or leave' attitude. Very glad I won't have to stop there again.

Friendly staff who were happy to help, ordered a Hazelnut latte and orange hot chocolate and as im a regular customer with loyalty card , both drinks were free - bargain.

Paramos aquí por mucho café necesaria en nuestro post en el Día del Boxeo a casa de una familia en Devon. Las opciones son limitadas por un buen café en esta ruta sin rodeos enormes, así que tuvimos que hacer. Mi pantalla blanco (sólo 2 / 3 para mejorar el sabor) estaba bien (por la costa) y servido con una sonrisa.

Poor site air con on cold feeezing in there the Black Forest hot chocolate was flavourless and not as shown they are not allowed to put the cherry in the drink so place on top the lid not overly hygienic

There's three things that make a good cup of coffee aside from good quality beans 1) Coffee needs to be ground fine enough to not let too much water through (affects the level of bitterness) 2) Milk should not be burned 3) Milk to Coffee ratio / water to coffee ratio should be right

Stopped here to order some coffees on our long journey home. After standing in a queue for several minutes I reached the till only to be told the till is now closed and I should move to the next till (and join the back of that queue). No apology from the man. I asked him why he hadn't told us earlier why we should move queues. He ignored me and didn't even look up. The elderly lady behind me also questioned him but he didn't even acknowledge her. So rude. Such poor customer service. I wish I had taken his name. He was a small man with fair hair, stubble and glasses.On a more positive note, the young lady and man on the next till were very polite and efficient.

Very impressed with cleaniness of the place, luckily there was no queue when we arrived but it was 5 mins before closing time (they shut at 10pm). Ordered 3 hot chocolates and a cherry bakewell, it came to over £12 but im happy to pay that as the drinks do taste lovely. I had a friendly member of staff serving me and she kindly put in squirty cream and chocolate dusting to top up drink as she hadnt made enough hot chocolate.The cakes look lovely and there are new smoothies to try. Looking forward to trying mint choc chip smoothie. Yes its expensive but you get what you pay for.I will visit again as im local and live 5 mins away.

Stopped here 2 days ago and love Costa Coffee. But the staff level and service was woefully slow and unorganised. Could be so much better. Great location.

I visit this Costa regularly on a Wednesday evening with a friend,normally it's just coffee but on occasions we do eat.. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and now we don't even need to order our drinks they just know...The food is normal Costa but obviously more expensive as its a service station.Will continue to visit as we have never been let down.

On a summer Saturday afternoon service stations where all overflowing. Cullompton was the third service station we tried and the first where we were able to park. Unfortunately, Costa had run out of food, so we brought some snacks from WHSmith then sat down with drinks from Costa. We were hungry, and dislike McDonalds and did not want a take-away pizza, all we wanted was a sandwich (or similar) from Costa. In 2006 the service area was criticised by Which? magazine as being the worst in the country; that is definitely no-longer the case – but we did leave disappointed and had to stop again before we arrived home.
