Best Costa In The Country Always Go Back There Every Week Staff And Boss Are Absolutely Amazing And Fantastic

Good selection of food including pastries and light meals. Plenty of seating with access to plug sockets (certain parts of the cafe) and decent wifi. Strategically located inside Tesco, adequate heating as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. One of my favourite spots to work and chill. Do note that if you are eating in, food prices may be slightly higher.

Very quick and welcoming service. Friendly staff and expertly made coffee. Both cakes and pastries were delicious and fresh will definitely be coming regularly from now on!

Shocked that not 1 member of staff on this morning's shift (9/8/2023) helped a Woman who fell just outside the restaurant. Regardless of whether the fall took place in the restaurant or not, the windows and doors were knocked for assistance and the members of staff ignored the calls for help. The Woman was on the floor for some time. In shock, alone and stared at. The fire exit is also disability access or in case of an emergency so we know it can be opened! The neglect should be investigated via CCTV! The staff should be spoken to and action taken. We just wanted a cup of water. Cancelling my Costa Loyalty membership as Costa, Portman Road Reading clearly cancelled their duty of care!!!!! Disgusting.

I often go to this Costa Coffee branch in the Portman road Tesco. The service has always been really good along with cleanliness. The team work really hard but always have a welcoming smile on their faces. Not many other coffee shops are as good.

I purchased two slices of white toast. After I paid for it, the assistant spoke to the manager who then told me that the machine wasn’t working properly and I would need to wait 10+ minutes (toast normally takes less than 2 minutes to cook). I immediately asked for a refund as I wasnt able to wait the time to. I stood at the till for 7 minutes waiting for the manager to do the refund. He was not apologetic despite taking my money first and then delivering a poor service. Looking at the other reviews, I can see that poor customer service is a running theme at this Costa.

Ordered a bacon roll and flat white . The roll Was ok the Flat white was really tasty . Most of the Costa coffee from the machines tastes a bit plain but this flat white was nice .

Quite a dated Costa, but service is ok coffees the same as other Costas.

One star rating is too much for the staff who’s working here. Very impolite and my table was full with the previous customer cups and glasses and nobody’s care.

Spacious ambience, friendly staff. Nice calm place. Beverages were not hit, they were luke warm. Took cappuccino and hot chocolate, both were warm.

I visited this shop first time today, but I will never go back again...Very unhappy with the staff. The woman who served me almost laughed at the fact that I couldn't remember the name of the drink. I asked for vanilla and coconut latte, but I wasn't sure if this is the right name for the drink(it was the right name) and she said "you know better than me" and when her colleague asked her what do I need to pay for,she said"she doesn't know". I went to other Costa shops before and the staff is lovely and happy to help, but this one dissapointed me.

When Christmas comes... (coffee time)

The place is ok with floors being continuously swept and tables cleared promptly but the male assistant got my order wrong - instead of DeCafe prepared me a regular Americano and instead of with hot milk I ordered tried to give me cold milk!!

It's ok but in a supermarket, if your after a quiet sit down not the greatest of places to go

Went to get a coffee today and website says they are open until 6pm but the barista said they were closed?! Adjust your times on the website then!

The place was clean, the coffee very good so overall, very happy

It's nice to sit after doing your shopping only thing that did bug me a bit was how they separated the tables there was tables that didn't need to be marked off.

Offers all the usual Costa food and drink, could do with a larger chill cabinet for savoury snacks. Very high ceilings as it's part of the Tesco Extra building, but it's difficult to find a seat where the air conditioning isn't blasting you with cold air. Can get long queues and very busy, noisy and untidy during weekday lunchtimes, especially when staff go on a break.

Lovely and spacious, with a decent selection of bakes and beverages. That being said, it's so incredibly noisy here due to sound of coffee machine, clinking of dishes etc. that all echo throughout the cafe and makes it almost impossible to have remote meetings or work calls. Frustrating!

Good coffee, you know, just another Costa coffee shop, I can't believe we pay £3 for a coffee but this is how it is now days.

Food and coffee was alright, nothing special, but we appreciated the space and separate baby changing facilities.

A place if you like Coffee or tea. Nice sweet dessert and cake selection. But very Rude staff need new staff no cleaning done in here in a while dirty place. Maybe staff having an off day. Seating inside and outside. I'm not a coffee drinker can be bit pricey for a cup of Coffee. So not greatest.

I was meeting up with a friend here around 5.30pm and half the cafe had been blocked off. Asking the slightly grumpy foreign lad serving why? His surly reply he needs to clean the floor.... I looked around and thought #Maybe start with the tables 1st. Out of the remaining tables available only 3 tables were clean. The rest was a mess! Cups etc covered every table and the floor hadn't been swept up in a long time. SURLY lad didn't start on the floor until a good 20 minutes later.

Most sluggish Costa in town. Staff mostly miserable. We had a coffee and when we were about the leave 25 minutes later, the people that were at the back of the queue when we sat down were about to get served.

Not as bad, as some reviewers here might lead to believe. It’s a costa. In a tesco. What were you expecting?
