Spicy Hyderabad in Reading

Omg how cold is it in the place. I just got told by staff that the owner does not like putting the heating on, gonna take food home now. Hope the food is OK.....

I could give zero if there is option if south indian restaurant does not know the food what is south indian food should not say we can cook. So disappointed

Authentic taste with decent price!

Good Biryani, spicy level was mild. Cooks are from Southern part of India, the taste is not authentic Hyderabadi, but close to it. Enjoyed the Paneer and Veg biryani as well.

We tried for Biryani but that was not met the expectation to the taste. Chicken 65 was good. Need to improve the taste actually in Chicken Biryani. Price is affordable and the taste seems linked to it.

Ambiance and hospitality is good taste is very authentic accordingly as flavours

I have been to this place a while ago, such a brilliant ambience and Comforting food. Feels so homely such good hospitality and friendly staff. In this area I think this is the best place for good food and good mood. This place is like a Therapy for me feels so happy to have some delicious food. Food: 11/10 Hospitality: 12/10 Love:20/10

I’m not someone who writes reviews or goes to restaurants for writing review But, I have to write this one. I went there with my friends to have a nice biryani with my friends to my surprise there’s zero hospitality. The egg biryani was like a tawa fried rice, with no taste, no salt served cold, chicken biryani had smelly chicken (which my friend ordered) I can write pages about the entire experience but to cut short Mr Mohan was very rude arrogant and was in a fighting mood, kept talking about how he is fed up with other customers and saying that “I’m here only to complain and to get my money back” no one even should ever use these words for a customer. For me it wasn’t about the money or getting something for free, it was about the experience and evening with my friends, which Mr Mohan spoiled with his attitude and words. He wasn’t apologetic about anything. I paid the entire bill and left the food because its the Worst restaurant I ever visited. Do not visit if you don’t want to be infuriated and ill treated by Mr. Mohan. Editing my review after the response from spicy Hyderabad - This is my genuine experience at your restaurant and how I was treated for sharing my experience. There was ZERO hospitality, Mr. Mohan’s behaviour is totally unacceptable, I’m not sure if Mr Mohan is responding to the review and saying unfair. If someone’s shares their negative experience at your restaurant doesn’t mean it’s unfair to you, my entire evening was spoiled because of Mr Mohan’s behaviour, he wasn’t willing to listen and rather blaming me and saying demaning things to me like “Im here to complain, to get something for free etc. sarcastically saying what’s your problem etc etc the list goes on”. I left your place with my friends without finishing the food and paying in full even though Mr. Mohan said he has discounted the price of 1 Briyani after saying all the demeaning stuff, but I insisted and paid the money in full, how do you even expect someone with pride and honour to be treated like this. Do you expect me to keep my mouth shut and not talk about my experience??? Please focus on thinking how customers should be treated and customer services can be improved. Thanks

Excellent food. Used their catering option for about 40 people. Everyone liked the food and the quantity is definitely more than what you asked for. Definitely recommend.

We ordered veg biriyani, it's not even like biriyani. No spices no masala it's like some coloured rice. Horrible don't waste money. They should close the restaurant they can't serve properly.

I ordered for chicken biriyani and veg schezwan noodles, To my surprise I found peas in my noodles ( hahaha) While they say it’s vegetarian noodles and they have only added carrot and peas. The noodles is soggy with heaps of oil and soy sauce and doesn’t even look and taste like scezuan noodles and these guys run restaurants. I am feeling disgusted by the fact how Indian restaurants are being served and cooked here. Atleast need to have some sort of idea on how the dishes are being prepared and what goes into each dish. it was our mistake to order indo- Chinese dish from this restaurant. These guys doesn’t value customers and the way the food is being served?? Go get a life you wasted !?!!!

This is actually a very decent Indian restaurant. We have tried a few items here and was quite happy with it. Recently we did a catering order and all our guests were pretty happy with the food. They don't have chapatis in their menu or catering menu which I thought was a nice to have option. Hyderabadi chicken biryani - 4/5 Vegetable biryani - 4/5 Chicken 65 - 4.5/5 Paneer sizzler - 3/5 Chicken chettinad curry - 3.5/5 Paneer butter masala - 3.5/5 Gulab jamun - 4/5

broken glass found in the take away briyani :( I dont have a picture but its true ! Be aware of it. Quality of the food is readucing day by day and its at worst now. Also, bought pepper chicken which is not a pepper chicken, they just mixed peper in tandoori chicken.

Dal makhni was uncooked, when called the person wouldnt even accept that dal was uncooked. I was a regular customer before for chicken dishes specialy biryani but due to the last order mess up and not even willing to listen, I am not ordering any more.

Visited a friend on Hexham and on the way back i picked up some tandoori chicken. these guys know what they are doing. really helpful to have such places in remote neighbourhoods.

Normally come here and the food is good however on our visit yesterday (Thursday night) the service and food wasn’t great. We arrived and got told we can take a seat however and we weren’t given any menus. The starters were good however the mains were not very warm - they said one of the naans we ordered was garlic but it was clearly plain and they forgot the pilau rice and brought it out at the end when the food was cold.

This place whenever visited never disappointed me.. taste , portions and time of delivery.. always cooked as per my request (spicy and tasty)... will visit again

We usually buy take away and full Tandoori Chicken which is authentic and good sized chicken. But today it felt like we had only bones no meat.

Ordered over Uber Eats Food was blend and dry. It had a weird smell and tasted disgusting The rice was greasy, the chicken parts looked like they have maybe beeb cooked yesterday and reheated. They served 4 sauces that were all disgusting.

I have very few takeaways near me. Spicy Hyderabad is a saviour as I finally could find a takeaways which has perfect flavours and the spices are exactly how I like it. I usually order every other month.

One of the best authentic Hyderabadi dum biyani available in Reading. The Hyderabadi dum biryani meal is a good combo for two people. The chicken Manchurian that comes with the combo is simply amazing! Perfect dinner menu. The Kaju chicken fry was not as expected but was ok. Overall the food was great!

The taste is good. Increased the prices recently. That's the reason for one star less. If you like spicy Indian food, this place is nice to try

Don't try lamb biryani, chicken biryani is good.

Very soggy starters in spite of us requesting crispy. Nothing special. All curry tastes the same.

Order mutton biryani for takeaway, it was horrible. They have increased the price and degraded the quality. Number of mutton pieces were also very less. And when I complained about it, it was like they dom't seem to bother to listen. We are done with the Spicy biryani now.

We had a fabulous dinner last week Friday night. It was fantastic to see Indian cuisine being taken into the ‘fine dining’ space and we thoroughly enjoyed both the superb presentation and the amazing taste of all the dishes especially Hyderabad Dum Biryani and Mutton Curry with spicy touch. The use of spice and the subtle flavours that came across in every dish was simply stunning. Good service with no delays at all. Strongly recommend.

Worst food ever 😡😡😡 Ordered veg fried rice which was actually a veg biryani with loads of spices chicken manchurian - had chunks of chicken pieces and 10kgs of red chilli powder Butter chicken - had blunt chicken and gravy was again a chilli soup If you need to spoil your gut then you can think of it otherwise don’t dare to try

Ordered Briyani and it had no flavour. Boiled rice with no spice with one drumstick and another tiny bit of chicken. Went back to my usual place. Thought I would support a different restaurant.

The best and authentic Hyderabadi Biryani in Reading or London by far and not very expensive either. There is loads of other items available and love the chilli bajji, aloo tikki and chicken 65. Keep it going Mohan sir.

I visited this place to buy Biryani, not only because of the super delicious food, but more of their friendly staff (Mohan). I ordered Mutton Biryani and chicken Tikka Kebabs. Everything was super delicious and both of them were good in taste, I would like to recommend Spicy Hyderabad.

Average Hydrabadi chicken Biryani. Found the biryani slightly over dry with strong punch of black pepper. I will try again and see if they can live up to the real hydrabadi taste they claim.

Highly recommended place for Biriyani’s and chicken 65/ kebabs in Hyderabadi style.. Timely delivery, neatly packed and quality is very good.. They are noting down even the minute details that we are giving like hot or less hot.. Ordered a bunch of items for our daughters bday party last December and everyone simply loved the food.,

I got sick and tired of the same old curry houses, there are a small handful of places in Reading that actually offer a different and genuine Indian menu. This is one of those places, authentic south Indian dishes and I keep coming back for more :)

I love the fact you can pick up genuine south Indian dishes for a very low price because it's not served hot. I can store these in the fridge and eat that night and over the next day or two. My particular favorite is the Chicken Tikka, the flavours are just divine! The food tastes amazing, it's captured the south Indian dishes and flavours and dishes perfectly. I hope this place does well because it makes such a nice change from the standard curry houses!

Authentic, tasty and value for money. The other authentic hyderbadi is clays in reading but there biryanis are £15! These guys chicken biryani is £4!!!

Authentic south indian andhra food. I am only giving 4 star because the oil in your chicken 65 and chilli chicken dishes was a bit too much for me. Otherwise taste is awesome.

I ordered Chicken Briyani and Vegetable Briyani from this place on Monday: 04/11/2019. I must admit, Mohan who served us was really polite and courteous and he is a localite too. The food itself was authentic and spice levels were perfect and as expected of an Hyderabadi flavours. I would definitely go back there again. He has got a Hyderabadi Chef and a Punjabi Chef and he has big plans to introduce good variety of Indian foods shortly. I certainly enjoyed the Chicken and Veg Briyani and recommended him to many of my Indian friends to give it a try and make their own decision. Highly recommend it. Will come back here to update this section on future orders as well.
