He took the time to chat and made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. The service was quick, and the coffee was perfect. The slowest and most unfriendly Costa in the area. We actually drive past this Costa each day to go to the next one to avoid the poor service!

How do you make a coffee THAT BITTER?!?! Its so burnt. There should be a bad coffee award ranking between Costa, Nero & starbucks for poor representation of coffee.

No one in this coffee shop speaks English and was impossible to order and very frustrating

I ordered via deliveroo and got the complete wrong items. The recipt in the bag was for the correct order so it is not deliveroo's fault. This is not good as I could have severe allergies. I can't phone costa to tell them as their phone lines are now permanently closed.

I had to wait soooo long for a coffee! People don't want waiting. Service in the UK is dead

Some of the staff were happy and friendly some looked like they didn't want to be there. Alot of the tables were left dirty and not cleaned the whole hour I was there. I also saw a baby highchair thrown back without being wiped down.

First ever Costa cafe I did not like. I found flies on the food.. see photo. Food was not covered. It is definitely understaffed. Naturally, the staff was not happy, looked stressed and was uninterested in the service. We requested extra hot coffee, confirmed twice but got a lukewarm one.

I went to Costa today through the drive thru. Asked for a cheese and ham "toastie" - what I received was an undercooked handful of slop! It was all stuck to the cardboard packaging, and when I did finally get it out, well the photos speak for themselves don't they - my "toastie" was only cooked on one side. It was literally falling apart, you couldnt hold it in one piece. The cheese inside was just a slimy mess. The ham was like something I'd feed to my cat. Upon feeding back this to a member of staff, her response was that they never cook toasties on both sides, because the inside ingredients would fall out 🤣 funny how, with all of the costa branches I have tried over the years, never have I ever had a toastie that wasn't toasted on both sides! Staff member was rude, abrupt, unhelpful, unprofessional, unpleasant and not at all empathic. Clearly missed the customer service day of training! If I get food poisoning I'll know who to hold responsible!

It's costa at the end of the day. Standard run of the mill layout. The staff, on my very, were stressed but polite. I ordered a coffee and breakfast wrap. Coffee was great, wrap not so! Cold in the middle, it was re-heated but then arrived brunt! 6/10

Sinem and all the staff were really lovely and helpful! My drink was absolutely delicious (chocolate hazel hot milkshake!!), a real birthday treat :D

The manager seems well out of his depth with regards to customer needs and problem resolutions, I will not be coming back

Every morning round 10:30 I go for coffee at Costa reading proctor for last 10 months I really enjoyed my coffee specially when the manager Kamal it’s there makes every costumer happy and very professional

I love how consistent this chain is, no matter which one I go to I get good service and happy faces.

Went in to get a gift card, coffee and 2 drinks for my children. The member of staff told me I wanted £20 on the gift card (I did not) then took a good few minutes changing it to the amount I requested, then she took my drinks order, told me one drink they didn't make - they did another member of staff said we do that it's there poing to the screen. Then after a long wait and the people in front now having cold Toasties because they had waited so long I get handed some drinks, my hot coffee was given to me iced and with regular milk after I asked for oat milk due to my dairy allergy. Same member of staff from earlier told me I ordered a drink I never ordered. If your going to employee people who do not use English as a first language they really do need to be able to understand the customers well enough because this lady messed up the people in front and behind as well not only that she was telling people people what they want rather than letting them choose.

I decided to stop off here as I wanted to grab a quick coffee to go. Worst decision ever. I ordered 1 hot chocolate and 1 flat white. The whole time in the store I was waiting in a queue and then waiting for a drink. This took over 25 minutes. The priority is obviously on the drive through line to keep it down, but this isn't great News for people who want to sit in, or people on foot. The service was poor, slow and they had 3 different complaints whilst I was stood in the queue and waiting about other people's drinks, either not being the right ones, or for being far too hot when they had asked for it to be warm and not hot. I wouldn't use this Costa again. Drive through is very busy. Parking onsite.

Bit too hot inside. But all place clean and tidy. Loads of room to sit for a cup of coffee...

This is a good sized Costa with their usual offerings. It wasn't very busy when I visited and I even had a choice between many different seats and tables! The place was kept nice and clean, and there was also also a working toilet for customers. As far as Costa coffee shops go, I'd definitely visit again!

A busy Costa, shared facilities with Showcase

The shop is now full of inexperienced people and they don’t even know how to make proper coffee! Not mentioning a bit chaos when handling orders at busy times. I used to go there quite often but now need to think twice.

Everything you expect of a Costa, but the staff here are all so lovely. No matter what time of day they are all smiles and nothing is too much trouble. It's my favourite Costa in Reading.

35 min wait going through the drive thru. Bunch ok kids running around like headless chickens with no one knowing what they're doing. An absolute joke. Manager needs the sack. just an update a year later... has not got any better. 25min wait at the drive thru this morning. honestly this place is such a joke stay away

Up to the excellent standard expected from Costa.

Nice Costa (drive through as well) in the middle of trading estate, well staffed, clean shop with plenty food options, friendly staff, wheelchair accesable. Parking can be a challenge at busy times, max stay 120 mins as displayed, great with kids, very limited outdoor seats. Will recommend.

Snack food toasties, breakfast, cakes and pastries all very expensive.

Good place to pick coffe and drive to office. Please try seasonal drinks 🍸

I went to this costa at 5.30 and it was closed the website states it closes at 6. The staff were inside ignoring us. It’s ridiculous people were arriving after us and also being ignored. The staff were chilling inside mocking customers!! Terrible service and the drive thru is never open!! What is the point! Shocking service

I had to edit my review. Still can't fault the drive through but eat in experience evertime has been uncomfortable. Biggest and only problem, lack of cleanliness. Floor dirty, seating stained and dirty, cutlery stained and dirty (every single time), I don't think they ever use air freshener either. Such a spot but being run terribly. If another brand coffee shop opens up in the retail park I will happily drop Costa for that.

It was cold inside and the very open plan layout meant that the breeze from the drive through window swept right through the seating area. Food and coffees are decent and consistent with the Costa standard.

Cozy place to grab your morning coffee , though sometimes the tables are not tidied up ( maybe due to being a busy place almost all the time ) . Nice coffee place overall .

If I could rate a 0 I would. Rude staff appalling attitudes. Drive through took over 10 mins in the drive through - it wasn’t busy. And to have a staff member be incredibly rude to me then another swear at me and call me sassy for questioning why I had to pay when I had a free drink. I am a customer I don’t appreciate being sworn at!

I wish I'd actually taken a sip of my hot chocolate before I'd left. That certainly hadn't seen an chocolate whilst that was being made. It was revolting. I even waited until I got home to stir it thinking it had all settled. Nope it was still revolting. I ended up adding hot chocolate powder at home.

Literally the worst Costa I've ever been to. Every time we go they get the order completely wrong. The staff seem to not know what they're doing. Don't waste your money, go to Starbucks!

I went to Costa today with my family, it was pretty busy but seats were available and the staff were really friendly, just one down side the coffee was a bit cold 🥶 but otherwise all good 👍

Our order was forgotten about, which wouldn't have been an issue if staff had apologised for their error. Instead they just grunted for our receipt to check the order. Waiting for our drinks took ages, it seemed only 1 person was making them, the other was sat on the counter...taking selfies!! Constructive advice: Ensure all staff are trained on making drinks and ban personal phones from the bar. Invest in better customer service, the very least you can do is apologise for your mistake.

Tried this branch for first time. I know it was new years day but the staff seemed very uninterested and service was incredibly slow despite there being four people working, and it wasn't even that busy in the shop itself or the drive through. Drinks were good, food not so.

Apparently, you're not allowed a large free coffee from the free beans on the app. Other costas were shocked when I told them

As usual great coffee, prompt polite service in a clean comfortable setting. Excellent sausage sandwich.

Good location with large carpark in a quiet village. Very convenient for parking of you want to take a walk at the neighbouring fields.

Never sure if it's open or not. Whether it's drive through only or in store only... was really disappointed to walk down here a little while ago to not be able to get a coffee as we weren't in a car. Such a shame as wgen it's open it's great!

Very rude polish lady at the drive through. Told me to park at the front and she would bring my drinks to the car. I waited 10 minutes and on one brought my drinks. Then I went inside and she gave the drinks that had gone cold. Very disappointed

I have been trying this Costa store for a while and I have different feelings about it. To begin with, I have found the store closed even withing the opening times that are stated on the entrance and in Google maps. The service is a bit disappointing, sometimes they don't serve the special hot drink editions such as the gingerbread latte. Today I have asked for a cheddar and steak sandwich and a mocha fot dine in. They even asked me twice about this, and they served me everything for take away. I feel there is not enough communication between staff.

Doesn't open till 6am not 5am and closes at 6pm not 930pm on a Saturday just a heads up 👍🏻

Been here on several occasions and every single time the majority of tables are dirty and the drinks are really slow to be made. Often out of stock of basic things: ice, ketchup etc.

Poor drive through experience @16:30 Sun 02/10/2022. Approximately 5 cars in front of us, and it took over 10 mins before our turn to pay and collect drinks. They only started to make our drinks after taking the payment, and this explains why it was so slow and what is the point taking the order beforehand. They even made an incorrect frappe drink and tried asking if we would accept it. We specifically asked not having cream on top, but both frappe drinks were made with cream on top. This Costa is completely out of control! We finally fed up and took drinks then drove away. One of frappe drinks tasted like a milkshake and no blended ice. I will not visit again and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

Main comment, No WiFi :-( The coffee is good and the staff although some were new, are very friendly and helpful. Fairly clean and nice environment. But due to the lack of WiFi connection, which I thought it was guaranteed at Costa Coffee, I won't be returning. It is strange as they are very close to two business parks and just off a Junction.

Staff here are so friendly the app wouldn’t work for me but they helped and the two lattes I ordered were lovely!

Much improved. Quick service. Drive thruough much faster. Staff are much better i was greeted with a snile. Well done much happier to visit again. Great value with the beeakfast deal. Shame stock levels meant no bacon rolls at 6.30 in the morning though.

Never seem to be open, I understand they have staffing issues but don’t put a sign on the door saying your open when your clearly not. One minute the drive thru is open and store isn’t and then store open and drive thru not. Very frustrating and losing a lot of business

I was there three times and it was closed due to the small number of employees. inside were four workers sitting at tables and playing on the phone and its a short staff?, I don't think so

Bad place to have a coffee, in the last few days you can't get a coffee unless you go to the drive throu. Very dissapointed as I have a LWB van and won't get throu.

Every time before work on a Friday and Saturday for the last 3 weeks around 18:50 it’s been closed, even though it says open online.

Served pretty quickly, many tables to work from if you're using your laptop to get stuff done. Not normally busy.

I always have a large latte with coconut milk and special blends that I have to ask for because they never tell me about them which is the annoying thing.

Drive in and sit in options available, easy access to the motorway, polite staff, plenty of seating in door and out door.

It's a costa, the coffee is standard. Probably avoid the bogs at this one though. The flush didn't work and the tap on the sink was loose and it didn't look like it has been cleaned for a few days.

Overall it has good service although at busy time during the week is mostly visited by people having business meetings and it's not anymore a relax atmosphere. The other downside is the.mobile phone connection BT and Three have one bar connectivity here and this Costa does not have WiFi which is very unusual.

The queues for the drive thru were very long, and after I was served I understood why. Had to repeat the order multiple times at the collection window, and then just happened to overhear the barista repeat the order he had made to the window server. My drink was made normal, not with coconut milk as I had asked for (and paid a significant price extra for!) Good job I'm not allergic but they had to remake, causing further delay. Drink was lovely (standard Costa) but they were really struggling to serve.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 star upgrade. This place is a gem. What is not to like about Costa. This one is 2 minutes walk from my house. Result. Friendly staff. Nice relaxed environment. The queue can be slow but then that's more down to the popularity especially of the drive thru and the products (coffee) take a while to make. Recommended.☕️☕️☕️ Update March 2022. The staff are really cool. Now stocking M&S food as well 🙂

Over priced boring sandwiches. Dirty spoons and wrinkly marshmallows.. Hot chocolate was ok. Banana loaf tasted awful. And conversation of the clientele made me feel sick..

Always great service here. Although rather stingy on the babychino marshmallows (from my toddler!) lol

Very friendly staff and very good quality of food and coffee.

Clean store, nice environment. Always seems to be a queue for the loo? It gets busy in store and in the drive through, the queue for drive through can be so long it's quicker to park up and go in store.

10/12/21 @ 15:28, there were only three customers seating, no one in the queue but my table was sticky, with sum liquid, tissue left by the previous customer and unclean, litter on the floor and on some seats. Very disappointed indeed. Didn’t properly listened to my order and tried to give me cold milk with coffee whereas I requested hot!!

Open late on a Sunday, great for those lockdown coffee runs!
