Costa Coffee in Cheltenham

Ordered coffee, mint tea and a cake and paid but after putting the coffee and tea on the tray, the server walked away to do something else. The cake wasn’t put on the tray so I asked for the cake and after being grumpily asked which one, the server practically threw it onto the tray with no apology and a really bad attitude. I suppose that’s what passes for customer service in Costa?

I came to this costa just over a week ago (on the 12th) and had been having a bad day as I often feel very unwelcome when i’m in Cheltenham. However the two ladies who were working when I came in were so lovely and kind, they had unfortunately been having a bit of a difficult time as everything seemed to be going wrong and customers weren’t being very patient. Despite all of this, the workers were so friendly and took their time with the customers who were using different codes etc which wouldn’t scan, and were very apologetic for the wait. I was so in awe of how well the two young women were handling the chaos they had to deal with, and can’t say how much I appreciated them still smiling and trying their absolute best. What a fantastic team, thank you for your patience and a wonderful chai latte! ❤️

Too much water not enough coconut milk and stop leaving the teabag in the cup very disappointed

Not happy my bag with my order in it was soaked through lid wasn't even on the cup and the tea bag was left inside my cup i perfered the tea bag not to be in my cup

Driver had to go to 2 locations to collect my order. Went above and beyond brilliant service

They forgot the food items (our main reason for ordering!) and only sent the drinks.

Good Friday approx 3:15pm. Gobby girl serving needs some significant retraining in the very basics of customer service skills. She seemed to irritate every customer I saw her serve with her useless attitude and lack of simple manners. Openly whining about how busy it was with her colleague for all to hear. Surly and abrupt with all customers. Shuffled to the pastry section like it was a massive hindrance to her. Abrupt again as she wanted me to hand her items rather than having to extend her arms more than 30cm across the till area… And not a single please or thank you. Pathetic.

Came here with my 11 year old daughter because she fancied a cake. Greggs had run out of stuff, and this place is next door. However, the quality looks and tastes much better.

Best Costa I’ve had….. Fresh bread for toast with xl latte… what a combo just amazing

Service was a bit slow, but the coffee was as expected. I really wish these chains would sell food to cater for all. No gluten free products available apart from an extremely sweet millionaire shortbread. What about a savoury option or two?

I ordered four items, I was charged and paid for four items but only received two items. I put in another order for the missing items and it was cancelled after five minutes. Quality of the items that I did receive were alright, but the quality of service was very disappointing.

Ordered food and coffee - food was sat on the side waiting 5 minutes for the girl with the shaved back of head to make a coffee. I know what the back of her hair looks like because it’s all I could see while she chatted to her mate. Cappucino came out with overdone milk so was like bubble bath bubbles. There was nobody else in the queue so I’m stood there listening to her banal conversation while my food goes cold and she’s literally holding my Cappucino while she chats away… I used to work as a barista about a decade ago. It takes less than 2 mins to make a coffee, and the foam should be dense enough that you can stand a sugar cube on it, while also being able to draw a picture in the coffee. Costa isn’t cheap, so I don’t accept substandard coffee and inattentive staff. And I’m not the first to complain about this at this location.

i ordered a gingerbread coffee which arrived without the gingerbread person. my after eight hot chocolate arrived with no marshmallows on and the after eight chocolate was melted. not happy. a refund would be appreciated even if only partial andrew

It was a busy day, but staff coped well and coffee was very welcome.

Sticky toffee is a normal coffee. Not what we ordered.

Disappointed. The ‘toastie’ was a sandwich and the hot chocolate was a normal hot chocolate late without any of the flavourings/toppings added. After an email of complaint I’m told that they have their own style and recipes of cooking… I’m pretty sure the food should arrive as described and the bread should be toasted. Won’t be ordering again or recommending.

The Biscoff cheese cake is a must with a coffee, polite staff, fast, good service.

Met a friend for coffee & enjoyed using the outside seating area, as a lovely, sunny lunchtime to chat. Staff member even gave my friend's dog a cup of water ☺️👍 Highly recommended.

Ordered food and a drink but only got my drink

Absolutely the worst experience of customer service yet at Costa. Claudia on the till, rude, challenging and abrasive. Coffee came out quickly once ordered but slammed down by yet another surly female. Certainly won't be back to this location!

The delivery driver was rude towards me and my colleagues and my manger. As I couldn’t answer the phone due to serving customers. He stormed in and spilt some of the drinks

Nice latte with coconut milk, and friendly helpful service from Zuza when I went in with my mobility trike.

I went In after work because id had a bad day.and the staff were lovely 😊the 2 members of closing staff were nice and friendly and super helpful giving me great advice on what new drinks they had to order and made me a delious mango and berry bubble tea.

Called into Costa for my Birthday cake the staff were very polite and even offered me a coffee. One of the staff whose name is Zuza very helpful and I will definitely call in there again

everytime I come here I am greeted. the baristas are the best here. me and the baristas always get along and have banter. They are honestly the best. They also make the best drink ever, “The Ewan special” (also known as white orange hot chocolate). Made to perfection everytime. Honestly one of my favourite places to go

Had a tuna melt panini as can not have anything else due to being vegetarian, however on the bottom of my tuna melt panini was bacon pieces from a previous panini they have done during the day, this is ridiculous, I have eaten bacon for the first time in 10 years I’m disgusted with costa for even letting this happen! They should be washing their tongs and trays after every use to prevent this type of things from happening!

It's a little ironic but I do not actually enjoy coffee or tea all that much so I do not find myself in coffee shops that much. This being said, I think Costa coffee is one of the better ones for people like me as they do offer more selection beyond hot drinks, their smoothie selection is brilliant, and my favourite options here, although their iced tea is also good. They also offer a range of snacks which are great. The staff here are friendly, professional, and quick. One issue I did find with Costa is it's fairly small inside, and at times, I imagine lunch on a typical work day, you can find yourself queuing up, this leads to the queue going outside, and on a cold day, is not very pleasant when the door is left open, this is something I'm sure is difficult to manage though. There's plenty of parking space though as it is located in Gallagher retail park and therefore parking is also free! It is also convenient to get to. I would recommend!

Didn’t receive what we ordered. Items were substituted and what was sent wasn’t liked by the recipient, so half the order went uneaten

Crockery could do with replacing. Very poor standards serving with chipped tea spouts milk jug and plates.

Well this is the 4th time I’ve ordered something for delivery from costa and there’s been something missing from my order! Thought I’d give them a chance but I’m getting pretty fed up now! The worst thing they did though was when they substituted my daughters vegetarian toastie for a ham one, she’s a vegetarian, even though I put a note on the order saying so!!!!!

This branch of Costa cannot cope if there are more than two items ordered at one time. I’ve given this branch two or three chances to supply a correct order, but items are usually missing.

Came cold & only arrived after I complained on the where is my order button.

The sandwich counter was empty except for a thermometer when we arrived at lunch time. We asked if they had any sandwich available the server looked confused but did to the stock room to see if sandwiches were avaliable. We ordered coffees and a slice of cake. We weren't given cutlery and had to return to the counter to request these from the confused server. The seating area was half full of dirty tables waiting to be cleared whilst the 4 members of staff were behind the counter. Once we found a table, we were seated next to a member of staff who sat eating her costa products which she must have selected from the stock room as their was no produce for customers in the chillers. Overall very disappointed.

I ordered a sauasge bap not a bacon bap, if you havebt got a sausage bap dont let me order it! You gave me a bacon bap! Im alergic to bacon! I want my money back!!

Well i ordered 7 items and only 1 drink came i’m actually shocked!

First time ordering food and drinks has normally only order drinks and no food arrived but instead A white hot chocolate so won’t be bothering again

Good service and despite short queue, I was served promptly. Had a take away drink which an extra shot in it because I can't taste the coffee otherwise!

Lovely ice cold frappe and I tried the red berries Cooler absolutely lovely 😊

2 hot 2 cold drinks delivered no issues….. Decided to try the RUBY hot choc and although It’s very pink it does have a chocolate taste very nice and also strawberry frappe’s lovely and Refreshing……

Need to change their opening hours as door and sites say differently. Also click and collected food that were out of stock and told to contact head office for refund

Absolute joke. Ordered a flat white and got a disgusting cup of boiled water . 20 minutes later the cup is still boiling hot. They somehow made it in 10 seconds. Best way to describe it? Chavvy thieves

Ordered 3x pork sausage rolls 2 blackforest hot choc 1 toffee penny late 1 wiltshire cheddar & han toastie 2 gingerbread muffins 1 lemon muffin recieved No ham toastie NO sausage baps And only 1 gingerbread muffin!

Travelled all the way from Cardiff picked up my sister to have coffee and cake and was told can't sit in even tho 2 of us were disabled and would clean the table ourselves.and there were dirty cups on 3 different tables .Would of given 0 stars but would let me

When I have ordered before (which I have done a lot) if there are items that aren’t available they call to tell me and offer me something else. They didn’t do this this time so I had no lunch which is precisely what I ordered this for. Luckily the sausage bap and drink were available for my Mum so it was only me that went hungry. Not good service Costa!

Always a long wait for a drink,toilets need checking regularly.Been in there before & wouldn't let a stray dog use them - some people are vile

They might close at 5 but there was no need to make so much noise dragging chairs around to clean. Couldn't have a decent conversation from 4.40!

Busy shop. Cakes can be not so fresh so be sure to ask for a new one from there stock. Mix bag of staff friendliness, requires consistency.

The golden caramel iced latte didn’t have any golden caramel in it which was the only reason I ordered from Costa. Costa did ring me to tell me they didn’t have any carrot and walnut cake left though which was nice of them. Most places just don’t deliver things if they’ve ran out.

Waited far too long in a small queue for my drinks. Asked what food was gluten free and was told there was a good few to choose from only for another member off staff to later confirm nothing is gluten free. Waited a further 5 minutes for my drinks only for the order to be wrong... wouldn’t go back to say it bluntly

Coffee was ok, however iced drink was flavourless and the cream topping pretty much just a white blob. Looked to be doing staff training but that is no excuse for serving a sub par product to paying customers.

Good social distancing. Tables cleaned between customers with signs on tables saying not to use tables until cleared.
