I like to get a frappe to go on my way home after a difficult night shift at the Cumberland infirmary’s costa coffee and despite being tired I always ask politely and smile and try to make polite conversation however every morning I am greeted behind the counter with a face that would turn the milk sour I know we all have bad days but this lady is the same every time bluntly “what do you want ? what size no I’m not doing those as I’m on my own “ absolutely appalling customer relations if you just smile love your day will be so much nicer which I’m sorry but said out loud this morning. Some may be people who have been sitting with a poorly relative or perhaps had some awful news you’ll probably not be bothered but I will in future get mine from the machine before I put up with your sour face again as for the rest of the staff it’s a shame for you as it’s impossible not to notice. Let’s hope you never need us nurses or doctors to care for you at any point as we may be on our own and so therefore “service not available!!!!! “

We have unfortunately been visiting this hospital for the last month or so and find that this Costas is shut more often or not citing staff shortage as being the issue. Costas, you could at least change your opening hours to reflect the reality of the situation. My advice is ring your own snacks and coffee and manage your expectations, but there again, it MIGHT be open, maybe, perhaps.

Made the mistake of thinking I would get a good quality coffee. Sadly mistaken, what I got was an expensive bland, tasteless luke warm, grey coloured drink in a grubby cappuccino cup, presented spilt in the saucer. Coffee grinder was almost lost under an avalanche of waste coffee, the whole coffee machine area requires a deep clean.

The blonde, foreign lady who served me today was quite rude. Aggressive eye contact and failed to communicate to the person making the order. Lucky it based in a hospital. The other lady with darker hair was nice, had a friendly tone.

Called in for takeaway- the food was awful- - the crispy shredded chicken was like rubber bands, black pepper chicken was tasteless slop, singapore chow mein was all noodles with minimal veg and meat and the salt n pepper chips had been reheated that many times they were inedible. This used to be an ok takeaway, but they seem to have lost the love! I wont be back....

I don't leave reviews often but the service is very slow, (over 30 mins for a basic breakfast) and the breakfast looked like it has been under a heat lamp all morning, dry bacon, sausage skin has gone crisp they even burned the toast

Been in this store a few times now and never actually left with anything, they never have any of the items on the menu they don’t take cash, they’re never open in the morning so a breakfast sub is off the cards, no drinks last time I was In only the one type of bread, the manager of this store is a terrible business owner and I guess subway doesn’t actually know how this store is ran, I’ve been to a lot of subways and this is definitely one I would never return to its pretty much put me off getting a subway from anywhere again
