The cleanliness of the spoons and forks is non-existent. The method of serving cappuccino is very bad. You can see it in the pictures 🥲

A nice place to have a coffee with friends.

This is a neat, clean and friendly environment to enjoy a quiet latte. The staff are polite, professional and efficient. It can get busy but as an example of professionalism they're always out clearing and wiping down tables especially one member of staff who seems to go above and beyond. I've seen her many times taking an interest in the customers, she's a credit to Costa. Unfortunately I don't know her name or I'd put it here for people to see but look for the young lady with a smile and a tray in her hand when she clears up. It's a great place. I like it a lot.

I visited on a Sunday afternoon. It was really busy, so there was a long wait to be served. I felt sorry for the staff as they were doing everything they could. At least the coffee was worth the wait!

No please, thank you or smiles from staff. Vegetarian food cooked with non vegetarian food, also cut with wrong knife on wrong board. Food was also left on side, so was not very warm when given. Given no cutlery at all. One drink tasted terrible. Other drink was too hot although asked for cooler temperature. This has nothing to do with costa food or drink quality. This is about how it is prepared and the quality of customer service. My coffee was remade and tadtes much better. But i feel much improvement needs to be made in this branch.

Not a bad setup and plenty of parking for a dine in, it being situated in the main retail park car park. Unfortunately my first dine in experience found cleanliness somewhat lacking (to say the least). Floors clearly unswept for what looked as if could have been all day (my visit mid afternoon) - unless there had been some sort of raucous party just before my arrival - and tables seemingly not wiped after eventual clearing. With less than 50% of tables occupied it was plain to see that multiple customers had been and gone without any table clearing let alone cleaning. Coffee as expected from Costa; pretty good, so no complaints there (actually hotter than normal which some may not like but for me it's a good thing as the drink lasts longer). So just three stars from me for now, but perhaps it was just unfortunate timing... will review after my next visit (might be a while tho...). Update... A little better on further visits. Staff could do with a but more oomph, but it's clearly not vocational for them so hey... we were all young once ;) Adding a star, because they're better than a three now, and I enjoyed my "Fully Loaded" flapjack.

Been an age since I've been here. Queued for over 10 mons to get served. The 3 young ladies who were on shift were working flat out the entire time, with no let up. The problem.is a serious lack of staff. Two on drive through and one on in house customers. They also then ahs to find the time to deal with online orders. Whoever manages thus store needs to address the low staffing levels.

Pulled up to drive thru at 9:20 asked for frappe and to be told that they do not serve iced drink after 9:30 and you can understand my confusion as it was only 9:20 when I informed them the time they decided that it was actually from 9 o’clock as they for word for word told us they had a long day great customer service I guess

Ordered through Uber, arrived with half a hot chocolate and no cream and marshmallows that I'd paid extra for.

Got a decaf mocha at the drive through, recived it in two cups as it had over filled the first one, the milk was burnt and the the coffee was very watery. I couldn't taste the coffee or the chocolate at all, this is the first time I've had to throw away a full coffee.

Nice coffee shop, however we had a few hiccups when we were there -a portion of toast is 2 slices and my friend only got served 1. I asked for 1 pump of vanilla syrup in my coffee but got 2. Will return :)

A nice little Costa drive through / eat in. The store was clean and well stocked, good customer service. Will use again.

Lovely place to grab a quick coffee. Friendly staff. They did pick the wrong time to send someone for a break, but they dealt with the queue of people quickly.

I've gone in here many times when the service has been slow due to the number of customers, tables messy and orders being wrong. However, this is my local costa and as frustrating as that can be, when it's busy it isn't their fault. I went early this morning, on a bank holiday. I can't fault it today. Greeted warmly (which I always am) served quickly, correct order, tables cleaned etc. Two others came in after me and appeared to also have good service. For the staff and customers I think this site should be a bit bigger and more staff

I used the Drive Thru on Barry Waterfront and it's always a really pleasant experience. The young girl, Phoebe, after only a few times serving me already knows how I like my coffee and all the bits and pieces I like with it and the hot choc for my partner (spoons, marshmallows etc). I never have to ask and she is always so cheery and chatty. Her customer service skills, for someone so young, are exemplary and a credit to Costa. Other regular staff are lovely too.

Coffee and food were lovely, staff very friendly and accommodating. But it was very noisy, but understandably so given it being the school holidays.

Arrived at counter, one gentleman already waiting & no one serving inside. Two dealing with drive thru and 1 sorting fridges. Not great service but convenient location & drink was nice.

Love the coffee but over priced for what it is

I attended the drive thru in barry with my partner. I spent almost 10 pounds on drinks, which I wasn't happy with. The vanilla latte was made by the new area manager, and I believe his name is Steve. The coffee tasted burnt and was completely undrinkable. Jeanette kindly made me a fresh coffee, which was perfect. Thank you, Jeanette! I was told that Anton had been bad mouthing myself and my partner saying something on the lines of if another bad review is left about him he would have something to say to us both. Im sorry Costa. I spend between 10 and 30 pounds a day in your establishment, and to have this kind of treatment from the supposed store manager and area manager is disgusting. I will not allow them to make my drinks, . Shay, Morgan, Luke, Seren, Jeanette, Lewis, and phoebe are all fantastic members of the Costa team. They go above and beyond for us, and I can't thank them enough. If I could promote them or give them all a payrise, then I would. Sort things out costa these two are a letting the team down and it's showing daily.

If I could have given a 0 star review I would have, I was served by a gentleman called Anton he made our drinks which we asked for large but they were only half full so I asked for them to be topped up, after a lot of huffing and puffing and being told that’s how they are made even though we’ve been coming here for 2 years and they’ve always been full he procided to top them up with water no extra coffee, he then stirred my black Americano with the same stirrer that he’d used for another drink but as I have a milk allergy I had to ask him to to make me a fresh one to which I had the reply “I didn’t put milk in I only stirred it”!! He made another which was pretty much luke warm water no taste of coffee at all! While I was waiting he made someone else’s drink with normal milk when he asked for oat milk, the gentleman explained that he asked for oat he was also huffed at and made to feel very uncomfortable! Terrible service from a usually amazing place!

Absolutely disgusting service by the apparent manager who I believe is named Anton, the staff and the service they provide has always been amazing until he started! While waiting he was attempting to serve another customer who had a gift card and got quite rude to her because he didn’t know how to accept the card, I ordered my drink extra hot but it was barely warm, when I asked for it to be hotter I was huffed at!! Things like this should not be happening, do you not train your staff Costa?? It’s ok though he’s amazing at cleaning tables over and over and over again even when he’s needed behind the counter!

It's a Costa drive through. Not much to say tbh. Service and staff are good. It's local and convenient.

It's ok, but it always feels like the customers are a bit of an inconvenience to the staff. No atmosphere.

I really dont know why I go here apart from the parking. The coffee wasnt even hot and tasteless all the tables had trays and were dirty

Good food, served quickly, and staff were warm and friendly.

The staff where amazing and dealt with any customer needs or queries. However, the shops interior seemed like it needed a revamp/re positioning of furniture as it felt very uninviting and rather unkempt compared to most Costa Shops/Drive thrus.

Absolutely appalling staff - no customer service experience all they do is laugh at customers I’ve literally seen it with my own eyes ! No welcome as you walk in - considering this is near to my home each time here I’ve had the same response! I go to Costa every day in the Hayes Cardiff and the staff are so lovely and go out of their way - the Barry waterfront definitely needs to train their staff on customer experience.

First time visiting this Barry store and while waiting for my order disturbed to see the girl serving me had no hair net and was constantly playing with her head set and hair while preparing food and drinks no gloves and not washing her hands! YUCK, is this a lack of training or ignorance? Sort it out Costa.

Staff lacked interest. Tables were dirty. Bins were overloaded with empty boxes. Coffee was ok.

Friendly and speedy service again and again from this brilliant cafe! Excellent place for some early morning work with reliable WiFi.

I recently stopped at the Costa Coffee Drive-Thru and was impressed with the quality of the coffee and service. The barista was friendly and efficient, and the coffee was freshly brewed and delicious. I'll definitely be returning to Costa for my caffeine fix.

1st time here. No atmosphere, staff hardly acknowledge you. People queuing everywhere. Extremely slow and quite overpriced. Disappointed.

Genuinely the worst coffee I've ever had. Asked for a flat white and got a ridiculously hot, burnt milk thing with a nasty milk 'skin' on the top.

Service was slow but the worst aspect of my visit was the stale almond croissant. On asking the manager if it was fresh today he just said "yes, I know" (they're not great.)

This place is getting worse by the day. Long ques, young staff with no clue and no manners. Everytime I come here I have always got to ask for my own spoon and knife with napkins because it's never provided. Get some good staff that know what their doing!

Slowest service in the world. Every time I go in it takes 15-20 minutes to get a takeaway coffee. Late for work because of them. Awful

Staff always very friendly. Shame they’re not open early anymore. For a 7am shift my train gets me to Barry docks 40mins early and I always look forward to warming up in costa with a coffee before starting work. Unfortunately they’re not open early enough now.

Avoid click and collect in this store. Your order will be given away without apologies. Ordered on the app and waited for 8-10 mins as shown on the order page. Approached the collection point but got ignored for 10 mins straight even tho we were the only click and collect order at the time and we could see our drinks. Finally we have to queue up and ask at the till and found out they give them out to someone else without confirming the order details or the names. They didn’t even try to apologise. We waited for 30 mins just to get a simple click and collect order which in all others costa would be a simple 10 sec collect and go process.

After several last chances...Absolutely shocking place. Will not be returning!! Such a shame as so close to where I live. Fortunately the Costa in the town centre is amazing and worth the trip for amazing coffee and customer service.

Very convenient if you've been shopping and need a quick coffee. Outside could do with a good sweep as in an open area it can get mucky . Staff really good though and friendly

Decent quality drink, as expected for the price. But the service was slow; causing a long queue and a painfully long wait.

Its the second time I have been here and this has happened. Ordered a hot drink with a vanilla shot, they forgot the shot, asked for it in a takeaway cup for drinking after I ate my food and well most of it was missing as you can see in the pic, top the lot you cannot taste any coffee... How??? Something dodgy going on here. And again, had hot food and the forgot the sauce. Shall pop to bucks going forward, its as close. The store in the center of town does it much better.

Always closes early. Website says 10pm close. The posters outside says 10pm close. But it closes around 9:10pm. I always come to see if I can have a drink after work but they shut up early. I’ve just seen the two boys have a Dominos delivered and they are talking to each other on the headsets. But he said they are closed. If so, you need to update all opening times.

Had a mug down there while visiting family and I have to say I do believe this was some of the most MID coffee I've ever had, it completely ruined my trip! I did order a tea there and it was quite nice so I'll give it that. The napkin shape was quite odd, few teeth marks but I'm sure it's just a design

Tried five or six times in the waterfront Costa have had only one nice hot chocolate drink , they just can't get it right now wait till I get to Leckwith or bay .......

Coffee wasn't very warm. Chocolate put on my cappuccino even though I asked for it not to. Toastie was overcooked . Not up to the usual costa experience.

Can't buy a straight coffee? You know, just plain coffee with milk?

Probably the best coffee iv tried so far,really good range of coffee,drinks....really nice polite and friendly staff.

Drinks were nice, but avoid the food. I ordered a sausage bap with brown sauce, received a "bacon" bap with no sauce. I wouldn't have minded the mix up if the bacon wasn't thinner than wafer ham.

Brilliant coffee here. Had one from Starbucks across the road and threw it away it was that bad. Definitely sticking with Costa from now on!

The staff here somehow manage to always be super happy and welcoming. Very much appreciated before my coffee on the way to work.

I love Costa coffee but we waited over half an hour for the drive thru and once you're in the queue, you can't get out so we had no option but to wait.

Went inside for takeaway coffee. First time in for over a year when we had a very poor experience. Today's server was lovely as were all baristas,.just a tad slow as so busy. Great 50p offer too.

I wouldn't even rate it a star been working there for over a month and still not received my pay. Feel that they are promoting SLAVE LABOUR its descraseful company should be fined and shut down. Definitely don't go there as the staff there dont run and operate company standards and procedures properly wouldn't recommend to anyone not even a dog.
