Costa Coffee in Spelthorne

Food average, staff slow on saturday. Toilets disgusting, urine smell so strong...water and/or urine over floor, tissue is sink. No hygiene. Very disappointed.

I have never been to a nicer Costa! The employees are genuinely great people who care about giving the best service possible - they literally went out of their way and treat customers as if they are in a highly rated artisanal cafe. The employees I am specifically referring to are the girl with the brown shoulder-length bob and fringe, and the guy with a medium-dark skin tone were both accommodating. I was welcomed genuinely, made a lovely drink and was also helped with adding points from an old receipt. Even though it was very busy they maintain great service at a rapid yet not over-rushed speed. They also effectively managed the shop and maintained the cleanliness of the tables and floor.

Went in today and was told my reusable flask was filthy and digusting was made to feel uncomfortable I went to walk out and this person proceeded to tell a person that it was filthy and digusting he was vocal and unprofessional I walked into Another Costa they used my flask no Problem no negative comments Don’t go to that Costa the guy there has no customer care skills or training I frequent Costa Stores but never again that one .I took Photographs of the flask you Must be desperate to employ people like him

Incredibly slow, and no rush or effort to serve any faster. 4/5 members staff working no one serving.

Some do and some don't , M & S food, that is. I think they should all do at least an m& s sandwich selection as there own are not great for choice or quality.

Very nice atmosphere and good food. I better than your average Costa, It has a nice view over over the two rivers shopping centre. Nice place to pop in when you're shopping at next.

Colder coffee, that's what they should call it here. Cafe latte, cold. Sausage bap, cold. I don't normally get costa and I can see why. Why so poor in service & Product? Hospitality is dead.

Very busy, staff friendly but a lot of untidy tables. Difficult to find seating at the time.

The Cortado was disgusting. Sharp unpleasant taste. I threw it away.

I don't visit here a lot, but whenever I have this coffee shop is clean and tidy. The staff are also efficient and helpful. The queues are usually shorter here than at the two other Costa shops in Staines. This coffee shop is also often open until 6.30 pm whereas the other Costa shops in Staines close earlier.

Coffee is always hit or miss. I tried the triple raspberry loaf and it was really dry and stale. I took a bite and had to bin it. Sadly a waste of money.

The reason I’m giving these 5 stars is because of two of the female assistants one is called Songul and not sure of the other young ladies name but they are both good. Especially Songul as she has been there may years now and deserves more credit than she gets she should be appreciated more for her hard work, she is excellent with her customer service skills, friendly and always there to please and does a great job looking after everyone and that’s the reason I chose to go to this particular Costa rather than any of the others in Staines. You should be very proud of her and if there was any award 🥇 for best barista it should be her!

Staff are lovely and friendly in this Costa. Well worth a visit when shopping in Staines.

Excellent service with a genuine smile from the young Lady who took our order, also, the obliging lady who made our order. Only 3 stars overall due to unkempt toilet area, though this is not directly the fault of staff (who were apparently understaffed today).

Staff rube place very dirty very noisy

There is a huge inconsistency about the closing hours of this place. It is good when open, staff is nice, but closing hours change weekly between 4PM and 7PM and you can never guess what it will be next week. Opening-Closing hours never align with what is written here. I have never seen something like that even in small family businesses yet this should be a corporate business.

Lovely cafe located in a busy area, near all the amenities. It is expensive compared to other mainstream cafes, and quality of food, drinks, snacks not as good. Customer is very polite and attentive, so definitely a place to go to with family and friends.

Dropped in for a coffee and toasties, great as always.

We didn't go to Costa we went to Greggs (Opposite) and had lovely cup of coffee and huge baguette probably half the price of Costa

Maybe I'm becoming increasingly grumpy in my old age, but I found the whole experience at this particular Costa very stressful and unnecessarily difficult. 1. We went in, intending to buy cold drinks. The entrance led us to the wrong side of the queue because the seating blocks the way to the front. So we had to move tables and chairs to get around. 2. When we got to the front of the queue, there was a member of staff bent over moving around bottles of Tango, leaving us unable to get to the chiller. Despite asking him several times to move, he didn't. 3. The drinks menu is on a rolling digital screen behind and above the Baristas, with writing so small you'd need the James Webb Telescope to read it. Honestly. It's small. My wife and two children couldn't read it, and it flashes past so quickly you have to wait for it to come around again and again. So trying to read it out to them and get them to decide, all before it disappeared, was stressful. 4. By the time we'd got to the barista, I'd still been unable to decide what I wanted, by the time she'd asked me 3 questions about each drink, the menu wasn't up and the queue behind us huge, so I went without a drink. I've been to many Costas, many times, and this one just felt rushed and stressful. Shame.

Coffee not strong enough for me

A big Costa shop with lots of seating both indoor and outdoors. They have plenty of beverages and food to fit all needs or dietary requirements. Staff are lovely and always smiling. Place is clean both in and out and the toilets are always sparkling.

Food to expensive and not even that nice

Enjoyed a very lovely Mocha while the kids had a mint cooler. All were made perfect and was very delicious. Staff are always lovely and there is ample seating which some seats are near plug sockets so you can charge your phone or do work on your laptop while having a decent coffee or lunch in a calm but often busy cafe. Place is always clean but there can be a queue for the toilet at times but uts never too long. Great location right at the heart of the two rivers shopping centre.

Well I reviewed this place 11 months ago and gave them 4 stars but after today it’s going to change to a 1. Went in to order 2 coffees. Everyone else sitting down has their coffee in mugs and cups and they’ve given me 2 to takeaway. Really confused as I sat down looking around. Staff clearly half asleep this morning. Also some poor lady had to come in and ask them to pull the covers out outside as she was getting soaked. They had 3 staff you would think it’s not hard to do the basics.

Always a great experience. The staff is very professional and super friendly. The place is always clean, even during busier times. Songul is there most of the times I go. She is extremely polite and nice. All of them look after all my requests happily. I only go to this costa because the treatment i get is above and beyond

Clean and tidy, very attentive staff

It wasn’t good experience for me. Service was really rude. Gave me cold hot chocolate and when I complained about cold hot chocolate. He was really rude to me. That’s the normal temperature. He gave another really really hot chocolate. Chocolate was in chuncks. Didn’t enjoy at all. I ll never come back again

Service was a bit slow but they were short staffed

I am disgusted with the behaviour in this place. A couple with their young (3/4 year old) daughter, were managed in the most appalling way. Their daughter vomited at the front counter and instead of being reassured, they were made to feel like criminals. The couple were clearly embarrassed of the situation and when the employee came with the mop and bucket she just passed it on to the man to clean up. Another employee working at the counter was exchanging funny laughs with another customer. When I spoke out about this, I was approached by the manager asking me why I'm being rude and raising my voice, when I pointed everything out, she replied if it was my daughter then I would feel like I should clean it myself. Maybe I'm just cut from a different cloth but I saw very little customer service in this place , seems to be run by a number of immature children with little respect/empathy. I'm very disappointed in this place

Lovely large store. Good variety

***updated: October 2021*** there has been a massive change here. Clean tables, absolutely lovely staff that were trying so much to help /make your visit pleasant. There's often a queue and the food is overpriced but the coffee and service are top notch. Often long queues and tends to be very busy so there can be coffee cups on the table. Disabled toilets are available.

Dont look up! The ceiling are corners are dripping with cobwebs & dead insects. Clean it up guys, VERY offputting!

I love coffee.... so I love Costa 😁 lost a star because I am NVER buying food again, over 4 quid for a sandwich, 2 quid for a wafer, 70p for a Banana... a bunch of bananas is cheaper than that ad fresher 😅. Also its pretty standard food. I never visit for lunch due to the average food at above average prices but it still remains 4 stars ad the coffee is just one of the best... 100%, ,better than Starbucks and cheaper 😁

Costa is very clean and hygienic but due to the pandemic I am not sure I want to hang around inside. I like to get take away and drink outside. But that's just me!

Very nice coffee as always! Shame it was raining tho and had to sit out, should really have the canopys all round instead of just 1 side

I just really wanted to say thank you to staff for a really speedy and efficient service. Nothing was too much trouble, even when I asked for ketchup! I've been vegetarian for 30+ years and for health reasons, I've decided to reintroduce meat and fish back into my diet! This was my first proper bacon butty in years and it was absolutely light, lovely and delicious 😋. Thank you! (The fruit in the picture was from home)!

Coffee always good . I find the cakes pricey but they are usually good. Am partial to the Bakewell tarts 👍 for them

Awful experience, shop assistant was unhelpful, rude and unpleasant, she burned my daughter’s croissant. And that it was a waste.

Ok quality coffee but have drunk better in different Costa’s. This one felt quite watered down.

One way system in place but the toilets were not available. Just disable one available. Great service, nice and fast.

Had a very good experience here. There staff were quick, efficient and helpful. They had all the food and drink items in stock despite been a busy Saturday morning. The layout of the tables and chairs was covid safe with plenty of room between them. Only had to wait a short time to be served. The 2 loos were also very clean

Don't get me wrong I love a Starbucks but also Costa and if I had to choose between the two is Costa every time. Costa is way way better then Starbucks

This coffee ☕ shop is really cute, it feels warm, plenty of space for families with buggies like us, no huge air con blowing cold air on your head, unlike some other nearby places...we are very pleased with it for consuming our Vitality vouchers.

Used to be good, now total madness with Covid. The place is a mess, totally misunderstood distancing measures. Shame really.

Clean coffee shop with friendly staff and fast wifi. Plenty if spaces and as it is located in a store, it is quite and a nice relief from the hustle of the busy town centre a short walk away

Service not the fastest and could do with being a bit cleaner.. otherwise standard for the brand.

Not a great Costa. There is often a big que that is slow to move. Staff see neither particularly friendly or courteous. They do the Premium Filter coffee which is great but it's 50/50 as to whether it's good or not.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, cafe was a tad untidy, and it really wasn't busy, the staff was just on there phones

Costa is always good whenever I go good service friendly staff and excellent food and drinks

I used to rate this a 5 star until recently. Since new staff are running it the service is so slow, drink orders are incorrectly taken, then wrong drinks are being passed off as right drinks, old drinks are being poured into new cups and topped up and the staff are rude when you complain. This has been happening consistently without improvement which is why I am leaving this review
