Costa Coffee in Havering

Nice coffee, well it should be for the price you pay anyway. Sometimes they can be a bit slow but I guess it does get busy

A 10 minute wait for the coffee but was worth the wait. Member of staff very apologies for the delay. Someone who I assume was her boss got her to do the cleaning instead of serving customers. He was not on duty.

Costa, is just costa, nice coffee, but does get very busy! Always nice to sit and have a nice coffee.

Quite a large cafe in Debenhams, very busy but found a table. Average wait for drinks & food. Not the best Costa I’ve been to but not the worst either.

I went in to purchase a green tea. After two of the staff finished their dialogue about where they were going in the evening ((5 mins)) I was asked what I wanted. I asked, very politely for a green tea. A cup with a tea bag, the string all stuck to the tea bag, chucked into the cup and a dirty tea pot of water put beside it. I paid my extortionate £2:10 for a tea bag dumbed, carelessly into the cup, and said thank you. No thanks or you are welcome from the staff. She just turned around and carried on with a discussion to her colleagues and on text on her phone. I expect more from Costa but maybe they too are letting their standards fall. Looks like it is back to Patisserie Valerie where there is always a good service, polite a d very customer focused.

It has been a year since I last did a review of the Costa in Debenhams and in that time standards have slipped somewhat. The service was friendly and they still asked if I wanted hot or cold milk in my coffee, but the floor was dirty, with bit of food having been dropped and several tables hadn’t been cleared. They were cluttered when we arrived and were still untouched 15 minutes later when we left.

Visited today with my mum and daughter after coming out of the hospital Manager huffed and puffed from the start because my daughter was taking a while to decide what she wanted to baring in mind she is 5. My mum did make a comment about this !! Then when I handed over my discount card the manager made a huge issue that it was not signed on the back and attempted to give me 4 different pens to sign it with even after told none of those pens worked on it and I had tried he then began to patronise me by calling me madam in a condescending way to which I asked him not to call me that he then argued back and continued to call me it now even more condescending defining the word madam with raised tones whenever he said it as every other word. he then told us he would refuse to give us our food and drinks that had already been paid for. And that he was going to report me to my site to which my mum said that is fine I shall report you aswell because of your poor attitude. He then went on to tell us in a very rude manner he was with the company for 7 years to which I responded saying I myself had been with the company for nearly 8 years he continued to argue to the point I began to get very agitated and my mum had to interrupt telling me to go and sit down. As a team leader myself for a busy restaurant I understand how customers should be dealt with regardless of if they are another team member or not other customers could witness this behaviour and were not to impressed either. this man that claims he is the manager is a disgrace to this company. In a site so small he should be able to handle customers and the small amount of pressure he has and clearly he cannot do so. He did not give us any form of receipt. Only thing we received of him was a patronising condescending attitude and based on other reviews on here it turns out he is quite often this way towards customers. We was the second customers in today and if that is how at the start of his shift his attitude was I feel sorry for any customers that had him serve them beyond this point. Maybe whitbread should review there management team or retrain at this site as clearly it is needed. I must however add the gentlemen who was behind making the coffees etc was very pleasant and maybe should take the role of manager over the failure of a manager you have now.

Such a rude and unhelpful waitress. Only able to utter one sentence. " you have to ask at the bar ". Every time a customer asked her for something this was her reply. I have a disability and difficulty walking. Asked her for some serviettes as they were not brought with my order. " you have to ask at the bar ". Had to nag her to get them for me and they were eventually brought to me with a sneering attitude . What was so difficult ? Why so unhelpful ? Definitely in the wrong job !

Had breakfast this morning at this Costa and OMG is the manager as miserable as sin...I think he thought he looked cool being miserable! No please, no thank you. I didn't comment to him and it wasn't busy but wish I had. He even couldn't bring himself to say please when asking for money...just mumbled the price at me and that was it. Maybe this is how people are treated in Romford..but even so he was terrible. He got the job done yes...but my friend you don't look cool being miserable. The floor outside was disgusting and hadn't been swept, food thrown at me outside but mocha was nice! Just remember for a coffee and a bun for £11 is NOT cheap but it was nice. I think these people have forgotten we pay with our own money...money not tokens! Money!!!! So treat us wth respect and give us good service.

Costa continues for mass domination but their hot drinks and food will prevent them from ever achieving this. The white coffee was drinkable but I won't be ordering this again. You could hardly taste the coffee beans. As for the all butter croissant this will leave your mouth feeling very dry. My friend was quite pleased with the Victoria sponge cake and medium latte. Maybe it's just my taste buds. Let me know :)

Took 3 attempts to order a cappuccino and apple & elderflower green tea. All cups, spoons were not very clean, boxes everywhere. I know the water in this area causes limescale build up but never had such a badly cleaned tableware. Not very impressed. Will not return.

The smell of fresh coffee was almost overpowering as we entered Debenham's. Costa coffee isn't exactly cheap but always goes down well. The service was polite and friendly plus they asked me if I wanted hot or cold milk in my coffee, always a good sign of service. The Belgium Chocolate cake was very moist and although not cheap was well worth the money.

It's really nice to have a new Costa coffee house in Debenhams at Romford . Can always depend on superb coffee from Costa and when we visited it was really busy.

Very busy as it was pouring with rain. But staff were serving quickly and professionally. Yummy coffee and cakes. Can definately recommend.

Visited here for a quick coffee break, whilst shopping in Romford. It's upstairs in Waterstones and was very busy on the day that we visited. You know what your getting when you visit a costa and that's a half decent cup of coffee :)

After shopping or browsing in the shops on a Saturday morning what better place to go for a coffee than Costa Coffee at Waterstones .Good friendly atmosphere a place to relax over a cappachino on a Saturday morning or Sunday either way it is a great place to go to relax.

If you are a book lover like me then this is the ideal setting for a cup of coffee and a snack. The staff are friendly and as always in Costa the coffee is good. Relaxing reading the paper or reviewing a book and enjoying your coffee, or watching the world go by I can recommend this place.
