Costa Coffee in Tower Hamlets

Staff are amazing but the shop is too hot to drink hot drinks inside. No working air conditioning, it is shameful for such a profitable company to leave staff in those conditions!!!

Coffee was good, quick service. Staff weren’t as rude as some reviews say. Upstairs the chairs and tables were relatively clean. Very hot in the spring/summer feels like you’re stuck in a greenhouse.

According to Google and their window opening times the store is supposed to open at 6am. I arrived at 6:30am and was send away as they claimed they were not open yet. I have chosen this location in particular for coffee as it was on my way to the airport and open.

we ordered 2 warm hot chocolates for the kids but they ended up only charging us for 1 and made it really hot. The service is really bad because they don't listen to what you say and they dont repeat the order. The staff need to be trained harder. The staff that was on duty was Jumel.

It's a bad store. I really don't want to give it a star.

Very rude staff not professional at all .Coffee taste was really bad.All of the staff was busy talking in different languages , I was confused probably they was teasing customer .very disappointed

This is a very convenient Costa right at Whitechapel station. The staff are always friendly - service with a smile and a laugh - especially Mohammed. Come here often when in Whitechapel.

I should have complained to costa coffee head office. Visited with my girlfriend and as she was being served I approached the seating area ( requiring to go up a flight of steps). A costa worker shouted " can I help you....you can order there" pointing towards the counter. I felt very intimidated and embarrassed by being spoken to in such an aggressive manner. Super unusual for costa coffee staff to behave in this way. Desperate to speak to the Manager I asked the server behind the counter for their attendance - who pointed to the poorly trained member of staff I was already dealing with. I understand it must be very frustrating to be next to the station and all types of people use their facilities: WIFI, toilet, seating areas; however I was not one of them. I expect on a day when they were not busy for 4 members of staff on duty to be more vigilant as to who was a customer or not - today certainly wasn't it.

Guy at till very rude, no customer service skills ,a shame for the brand ( I’m manager at costa coffee and having a queue is not a reason for bad behavior with customers)

asking me for ID to buy a brownie because it was my birthday💀💀 workers seem miserable all the time imagine asking me for ID because on the app you get a free sweet treat ... so agitated over one brownie is weird , saddos

Third grade staff running the show and ruining Costa Brand. I ask them for breakfast combo price and it was past 11am. I ask them twice the cost for the same so that I can think about it the next time, and then they tell me to check the board for price when clearly only the lunch deal of coffee and toast was mentioned. Not only rude but plain uneducated with deshi arrogance.

We had the cuppichino over here but unfortunately the whole coffee was filled up with the milk foam,,most worst experience i have ever had. But the sitting area was amazing.

I had a terrible experience at Costa Coffee. I ordered a babyccino for my baby and requested foil for takeaway and a straw cut smaller, but the staff rudely refused both requests. Their attitude was unprofessional and upsetting. This was the worst service I’ve ever experienced, and I hope they improve their customer service.

Disgusting service. Today as all the other day bought a coffee. I told the guy not to fill it up with foam -as always as he does- and he became so frustrated. He told me I should ask for wet coffee next time on a rude tone and if i stop coming and get a coffee from His shop it doesn’t affect him bc he is taking same wages with me or without me as a customer I won’t go there again 😂people are so sad with their life plus lots of flies there

Staff speaking in Bengali Infront of customers very unprofessional. Not friendly at all. Messed up my coffee twice. I was served by a lady called Shaddika very rude. Please train your staff.

It is right next to Whitechapel Station. The friendly team was quick to serve me coffee and cookies, but the place is very small.

I asked a guy at the till for a cup of ice and he refused. It is free for Costa to give ice and I have been coming to Costa for years. I challenged him and he would not give me ice. In my opinion that is both mean and rude for an organisation that values its customers. It would have cost him nothing and made a customer happy. Very very disappointed

Very handy as a meeting place just next to the Whitechapel Road portal of Whitechapel station.

A nice little coffee shop with very friendly and helpful staff. Considering it’s a costa pronto it’s very good. It’s even got some seating upstairs

A 'Costa Pronto' outlet meaning that they only serve in take away mode, however there is a nice area upstairs to sit in, with a glass roof. Friendly and efficient service.

I visited here today and got caught in the rain soaking wet walking on crutches due to ill health The 3 young men were very helpful. Sitting is upstairs, carried my coffee for me, and making sure I was OK. Very Good Team Coffee was good, too. I highly recommend

The flat white was the worst i ever tried. It was 95% milk and some coffee to give it a bit of colour. No taste at all and the temp was too high. These pretend baristas have no clue of coffee making. For them flat white, cappuccino, latte are all the same. If you want a bad experience, here’s a place to visit

Very quick service and a tasty mint chocolate chip frappe which was a smooth consistency and had a lot of chocolate chips.Fairly empty during 2pm and was very serene.

Really small Costa, generally clean and tidy. Little bit loud upstairs.

Served by Hassan. Lovely guy, very polite to everyone and despite a very long queue, greeting everyone separately without any sign of being stressed and I'm sure it's not easy to serve so many people. Clean place and served quickly. Seating is upstairs and considering it's a small Costa, there are plenty of seats.

Another place for great coffee!

Appalling attitude and a miserable look on the face of the female barista serving me. She was unfriendly and did not respond when I said "thank you", but not only that, the latte she gave me was lukewarm! I had asked for a 'regular latte topped up with cold milk', but I guess she just decided to adjust the temperature and give me a lukewarm latte. How incompetent! Nonetheless, I would have been happy if she had just added some hot milk to it as I had asked, but she simply huffed at me and decided to cause an argument. Perhaps familiar with her temperament and awful customer service, a male barista came over and rectified the situation immediately with no fuss whatsoever. His professionalism is the reason I'm giving a 2-star rating instead of just 1 star. Still, I won't be going back there in a hurry!

This is my favourite Costa by far. They make the best drinks compared to other Costas I have been to.

The staff are really friendly and understanding with one's quirks (aka all the changes to their coffees), they really listen. If you like coffee from Costa it is worth getting yours in this shop. Other cafes in the area are more expensive.

Fantastic for a break away. Fast and friendly service with a smile including recommendations on coffee's/cakes etc. Small seating area upstairs but never had an issue getting a seat, nice get-away from the hussle, bussle and stress of city and hospital life.

Abysmal attitude. You have to fight to get anything. I asked for some serviettes and was given one. Then I asked for a few more and was given another one. I asked for a cup holder because the coffee was too hot for me to hold and they informed me the cup has been designed not to burn. I had to insist on putting my first cup in a second one. Nothing is done with a smile. Is Costa on a cost cutting drive or are these baristas just poorly trained and miserable. They should go get lessons at the Ilford branch on customer service.

Never again will go to this branch. The main guy serving at the till this morning extremely rude did not have any customer service skills, is pushy onto next customer when you have not even completed your order, unhelpful needs training rather than retraining as his behaviour implie she has no clue! Charged extra for marshmallow but did not put them into drink. This branch does not accept the App and no reason given for it. Poor service and his behaviour putting off other customers

I've been to this Costa a couple of times now. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the food and drinks are lovely as usual whenever I visit a Costa.

I’ve ordered 2 iced caramel latte’s at 6pm yesterday. They literally just poured me a cup with a couple ice cubes, water, and coffee. There was no caramel syrup. It tasted like coffee water. Like I understand they’re closing at 7pm, but I went at 6pm and it’s so unreasonable to not put effort into making the drink. If you don’t know how to make a drink then ask for more training! Absurd. Do not go here.

Not even one star for this "Costa". I go to the review, To say that the staff are bad, is an understatement! They are of a unique rudeness! In 20 years of life, wherever I went, I have never seen such a staff. They are out of place, unhygienic, mean and exalted! If you try to complain, they spit in your face! I do their same job, I know what that means. This attitude cannot be tolerated at all! In addition to treating customers badly for no reason, they also treat each other badly! They are disgusting! Before "working", be reborn to be taught education and respect first of all! This place must close immediately! It has no reason to exist! Don't go there to spend a penny! Go where you can find humanity, education and professionalism, so your money will make sense of being spent! Not recommended at all!

Costumer service equal to 0. Only arrogant and rude racist Bangladeshis worker (managers included). I don't recommend anyone to come to this Costa coffee because the treatment I received was disgraceful. I was ordering my drink with my girlfriend and I was basically kicked out because I was falling over having tripped near the counter to show the desired cup size.

The employee that worked in there today, at about 13:45 was the rudest person Ive ever had the displeasure of hearing. So so rude to another customer who was nothing but polite. So unprofessional and not an advocate for Costa at all, makes Costa look really bad. I wouldnt even treat people in general how he treated a customer, which makes me think what sort of person he is outside of work. Will never go into this costa again, but he wouldnt care anyway with how he treats people, but Costa you should care and do something because he will turn away business with his attitude.

bought 1 coffee but the barista used 2 of my rewards. It takes 8 coffee’s to earn a reward and then u realise you’ve been done wrong!! bought a Cortado there around 14:50.

The worst coffee I ever had!! Latte was all milk no taste of coffee.

On Whitechapel Rd. Upstairs seating only, so difficult if disabled/mobility issues. Toilet also upstairs, no lift. No gluten free sandwiches, they only had 3 choices of small wrapped GF cakes. But do have a range of alternative milk- soya, coconut, almond. Manager friendly & helpful.

This place is excellent I had left my wallet at home by mistake and only had cash on me, they were only accepting cards and I did not realise it until I went to pay. The staff on duty were outstanding about it and I was very surprised when they gave me my decaff coffee even though I could not pay for it, and they made so little fuss about it that I doubt any other customers knew I had a problem. Big kudos to all the staff here and I will be returning with my wallet next time I am in that part of London. Costa these staff are a complete credit to your coffee chain

Standard Costa, not the best coffee ever but you know what your getting, this place had super friendly staff. Which helps push it to the 4 stars
