Costa Coffee in Cheshire West and Chester

Excellent friendly service and great selection of quality hot and cold snacks

Reviewed based on experience with the shift manager. Really poor attitude, what I'd expect from the part time hungover student. Shocked she's managing the place. Coffee generally the same as any other Costa, environment fine early morning, not too busy but not so good when full.

Coffee fine no gluten free choices as usual could have been cosier.

Always love costa, frequent visitor but visited on sept 22 Sunday afternoon ordered frappe ( my favourite) but surprisingly tasted like water diluted? How on earth costa standards can be this low. As i drink frappe usually from costa i can feel the taste. Really bad for a brand like this

Food is getting a little same as now needs more chose

Our visit was OK but below the usual standards of Costa. Drinks where served warm not hot, generally needed tidying up and the toilets cleaning. Would probably try one of the coffee shops contained within a retail unit on our next visit.

Nice cafe, but I was surprised! Do you guys add water to the Latte? I’ve never noticed any cafe doing this (I may be wrong though). But around third our latte cups were filled with boiled water, then milk and coffee. The taste wasn’t intense as it is used to be elsewhere. I would really like if you could tell us if you always add water to latte, just curious 🤷🏻‍♂️. Otherwise the service and environment were great!

It was not very clean tables dirty and floor toilets awful 😞 not up to usual standard,not even as if they were busy

Popped in for my regular wanted food but there was flies on the fresh cakes biscuits etc put me off

Love Costa its my go to coffee shop. Great staff, atmosphere, and delicious food and coffee.

As usual, Costa didn't disappoint. The service was excellent. Coffee and Muffin hit the spot.

Standard Costa, gets a bit busy at times and there's not a lot of room. Coffee is nice enough. Update, February 2020, nice coffee, stale bun! Update March 2024, nice coffee, lovely sausage bap!

Shocked to receive extremely dirty cutlery with bits of food stuck on the utensils. I handed the utensils back asking for new ones, and the lady said” it’s just the dish washer” I replied “ it’s not very good is it”. The lady replied “ don’t be like that”. Obviously standards are extremely low- perhaps the dish washer is not fit for purpose- zero quality control and poor staff training. Costa is successful but I wonder if standards are slipping in this Costa which needs addressing to protect a successful brand.

Costa coffee is good, of all the big coffee chains, this is the one I prefer. However, as with other coffee outlets, the service can be very slow. Why not have the option of a Costa Express machine where you could pay with your card?

Costa as per usual. Food and coffee good but service slow and boring surroundings.

Filthy bin in kitchen area, wet toilet floor looked dirty, coffee machine underneath dirty, under units dirty. Coffee nice, staff nice. Uniforms didn't look very clean....needs to smarten internal image and check in darker places for dirt....and clean bins and loos

Nice setting by the canal. Had to sit outside with my dog. As someone else mentioned, this would be a problem if you were alone. Nice cake and coffee.

Good coffee, taste and presentation as you expect. Tables need clearing and cleaning quicker but otherwise a stale Costa cafe

Tables were dirty, with previous persons dirty dishes, toilet needed cleaning and refreshing of toilet roll and very wet floor from people washing their hands

Always busy here. Staff are really friendly and efficient but it feels like an extra pair of hands to clear tables might be a shout

Great staff, a pleasant environment & good coffee. The cakes were a little over-cooked but tasty. Easy to access & park by.

Apologised profusely for not having brown toast but white just as good. Coffee and atmosphere excellent.

Bought 2 sandwiches but got 1 we ordered and 1 we don't so they gave us 1 cheaper so we lost 45p so not good service

Been to better Costa, poor customer service

A friend and I met here for coffee and cake. However sat upon a mini bake well was a fly doing his fly thing, like regurgitating on said tart and stomping it in, I informed a member of the team who just shooed the fly away and left the tart to be sold! Needless to say the wee fly just hopped onto another cake and continued his quest! We didn’t therefore have any cake

Just had a large Cappuccino and when the froth settled the cup was only half full. When I told the staff they looked at me as if I'd just come fro Mars. Instead of making a fresh cup they just topped it with milk and the left it on the counter without telling me is was ready. Costa in Prestatyn is far superior, lovely staff, excellent service and quality coffee. The member of staff that made the coffee is a big lad with ginger hair an glasses. Alun Jones

Stopped for some coffee and toast before the sofa shops were open. Enjoyed it. Coffee was a bit weaker than expected, but nice.

I waited around Chester for the day, and my car was in the garage nearby. I went into Costa for a cold drink as it was very hot outside. The service was brilliant and quick. I had one of those ice raspberry drinks, very nice and not too badly priced at £4 as it was big. Stayed in there for approx an hour, very relaxing atmosphere.

The staff were all miserable and I think I would be too working on that noisy work place. The place was very dirty but not as filthy as the toilet.

Quiet today. Decent flat white.

I always thought there were legal noise limits in the work place for customers and employees however this place doesn't have any it is so loud it drowned out the screaming of several children. All the staff were miserable, the place needed a clean and the toilets were absolutely disgusting.

Very peaceful to work and enjoy a day out amazing staff and they don't ask too many questions when you ask you'll be back they keep your drink safe until your back

Sometimes have to wait 15 - 20mins to be served here but a bit quicker this time but it was still busy. Take a bit too long to clear tables but I think that's cos they are not staffed up as they should be, no fault of the guys working there. Come on gaffer, get another bod in.

It was quiet in the store, so the service was very fast. The coffee was very good. There may have been a sugar stand nearer than the door, but l could not see one. I had to dodge around chairs that were out of place and in the middle of the aisle. We chose what was a clean table as it had just been wiped down, it was wet and sticky my wife chose to use a wet wipe on it and we were surprised by what came off the table. The photo tells the story.

You can't go wrong with Costa Coffee, we only went through the drive-through part.

Not a lot of choice in terms of food available. Husband had chicken and bacon sandwich which was Gluten free( only option- didn't like the texture of the bread, M+S made) 2 flat whites... had to laugh at the barista's attempt at coffee art, he made all the moves and he really shouldn't have bothered, it was just a white dollop. Doesnt make any difference to the taste, but presentation - nil points 🤣 Coffee still tastes OK, coffee art much better this time around.

First visit since Lockdown. Friendly staff, especially cashier. Great tasting Cortado.

Place was half full but majority of empty tables weren't clean - full of trays from previous occupants.

Decent coffee stop though looks pretty uninspiring from the outside. Better when you get in!

Strange, slow experience on thursday. Sign asks you to be kind to staff yet the ladies working there made it seem like the reason they had to put the sign up! Poor customer service

Great coffee house, lots of parking available, great staff and lots of choices for food and drinks on the menu. Perfect for meeting friends and family or working in a nice environment.

Newish build so it doesn't feel like the other establishment in the retail park.

Was so slow service. I gave up and went to Mcdonalds nearby. So slooooww service

States open until 8pm locks doors at 19:35 & pretends not to notice

Always love a Costa but its about time tge tables were made steady. Tried 3- all wobbly. Its a tiny gripe i know but didn't detract from my experience

I visit this store this morning and the girls were fantastic and really helpful and friendly Olivia who served me was absolutely fantastic.

I use the drive-thru and they are always friendly and helpful

Love it nice friendly staff, carried tray for me as have bad leg. Nothing to much trouble. Good to see they ate helpful in hot weather too. We'll worth a visit !! Xx

6.30 Thursday morning, yet costa not open. Waited outside for 30 minutes to get coffee, then went to Starbucks...

Drive thru is regularly closed at the moment, when it is open, they never have any of the specials advertised on the boards available, seems to be going down hill sadly.

Busy possibly understaffed long queue tables not cleared

Usual good coffee and service but really poor selection of food, most of the food cabinet was filled with vegan stuff. It can't be that popular if that all that's left in your cabinet. Ended up with a pretty tasteless ham and mustard M&S sandwich.

Nice place and fast service will go back.

Bit hit and miss here sometimes there is lots to choose from and then other times not great. It's clean and tidy often busy meeting place for buisness and friends. Nice staff Seating outside and a drive thru

Never seem to know if there going to be open lately they close at different times and one nite it was staff meeting which must of been a quick one because member of staff left after they closed door

Beautiful coffee and attentive staff. My first time visiting this Costa and it was rammed. Queues out of the door plus the staff juggling the drive through - so it took longer than I wanted to get my coffee, but it was delicious nevertheless.
