***Closed. All furnishings, counters, equipment have been removed. **** Best coffee for your money. Many independent coffee shops in the area charge the same price for a 10 oz (300 ml) as Costa charges for a 12 oz (375 ml). Service with a smile!

Served best coffee , friendly staff , clean and healthy environment

Poor service, we waited 15 minutes just for an espresso even we were first in the line.

Staff were absolutely amazing attended on 19th July at 13.30, they should get a pay rise.

I waited too long for a coffee, and it was just me in the coffee shop

The cosiest Costa I have been to. Can be difficult to find first, but kind staff, and cosy seating underground and outside from beneath.

It's been five years since my last review of Monmouth street Costa and I'm glad to report that service has improved dramatically under Ranjith's excellent and friendly management

Been there on the same day for two times in a row and both times had to wait too long for a coffe (although the place wasn’t busy at all). I appreciate that only one person was working there but still… service needs to be improved!!

Was OK. They didn't want to reheat my coffee. So not really ideal for sit down if you're a slow drinker. The cleaning of all the tables are a bit slow too.

They don’t allow customers to use the toilet by the excuse of -never coming plumber-

I was disappointed, the cafe was very different from the others I tried on the coast. The bathroom was dirty and the toilet was broken.

This poor trainee barista has been abandoned by management in the store alone. She’s learning but not so fast

Generally I am a fan of Costa, but service at this branch was poor. Slow and surly. . ☹️

Coffee was decent but the flat white was not quite presented in the usual way. Croissant was a little dry

Guy behind counter was very busy so maybe get him some help . He was good no complaints. As with all Costa my favourite always good

I used to come here often and be impressed with the service (approx 6 months ago). Now when I come here, I marvel at how incompetent the staff are. Still a nice Costa, but get these people some training!

It’s a really small Costa with not much room, but plenty of charm. Staff were sharp, but only because there were just two of them, and one barista was training the other so I didn’t mind that it was all very quick. They couldn’t have been nicer when I asked about taking a chair outside to a street table. Good coffee too.

If she isn't already, this girl behind the counter should be the manager! Doing 10 things at once, all by herself and yet with a smile on her face. Great customer service :)

Very good friendly service and a good Cortado. An update on the above. The girl who served me at 11:30 on Thursday the 19th of May deserves a pay rise as she is a one girl band making food and coffees and being friendly and efficient at the same time.

I was at this Costa once to work on my laptop. I have to say that the lady working there was super lovely and very nice to all the customers. Nice and friendly staff makes a place unique

The tiffin was dry although the coffee was refreshing. But I am VERY annoyed that there was only ONE member of staff there, which is a disgrace. This poor girl has to do everything herself and woe betide her if she wanted a break or more importantly to go to the toilet. Companies harp on about tackle tackle mental health issues but Costa obviously do not care about their employees based on this evidence

Nice Costa, the staff work hard, though do wish they had help. The toilet at men's needs a bit of renew based on my partners words.

Shop says it closes it at 5pm but they stop serving coffee from 4:30pm. I’m not sure if the franchise owner knows. When I questioned them they just simply ignored the question.

Again, really good attentive staff. Great customer service. Downstairs area great for working on laptops quietly & without distractions. Small courtyard space down there too.

Came here to redeem a free voucher that I had gotten through Vodafone. The young lady that was serving was very patient as I was fumbling about with my phone. Excellent customer service and the coffee was very well done, surprising considering the lady said she was newish. Wish I had gotten a slice of cake now…

Very disappointed at not getting served as customer in front of me kept adding to his order as more of his work colleagues kept coming in after me and adding to the order so I walked out in disgust

this is good when you are going to meet the family in the park this keeps you warm.

Nice little coffee shop, but the product range on offer is limited compared to other Costa stores. The seating downstairs gives you the perfect nook if you need to study or relax for a bit. The bathroom, however, needs a good clean.

Eine tolle Alternative zum Hotelfrühstück! Es gibt einen gemütlichen Sitzbereich downstairs. Wir haben hier gefrühstückt statt im Hotel. Der Kaffee ist sooo lecker. Zudem gibt es ein tolles Speisenangebot. Porridge oder Toast.

Not brilliant, staff were not very helpful, looked at me and the wife gone out when we asked fo a Lacto free flat white. Lacto free milk is 1 of the 7 milks Costa are supposed to provide. This was the 2nd branch it had happened to us as it had also happened at 112 Southampton Row London. Not impressed........ cant wait to get back to Nottingham lol

Impresionantes los muffins! Grandes, jugosos y muy sabrosos. Respecto a la bebida tienen una buena variación de cafés, de tés no hay mucho y los zumos, si no me equivoco, los hacen y envasan ellos. El local es pequeño pero acogedor.

Small Costa with friendly staff. There seems to be a loss of understanding of an order, not here they respond quickly to your order and make excellent coffee, which is the point really.

My dear friends and I had a lovely time chatting and reading in Costa for a couple (2) of hours. I was reading Misbehaving by Richard Thaler and Jasmine was reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Both books are very good books and the Costa ambience really added to the experience. I also received a free croissant from a lovely barista which was a highlight to my already enjoyable day; the bar was set incredibly high because I had, only a few hours earlier, had two books signed by Madeline Miller. My time at Costa was the cherry on the top of a day filled with excitement. I had been dreading turning twenty but with the help of Costa (Marchmont Street) I had such a perfect last day of teenagehood. I convey my gratitude to the baristas of Costa coffee for a day I will remember until this memory fades.

Usually a well made flat white, though not always as hot as I would like. A great view of Marchmont Street in spring. Exceptionally friendly staff who have come to know me.

Friendly service, with a smile. Coffee quick to come, but the glass was frayed on the lip. As though it had been used countless times and dishwashed equally countless times, which is natural but should be discarded when this happens. Wasn't dangerous i should add, just noticeable.

Its an excellent place for people watching, and is much bigger than it seems on first appearance. The downstairs room has a yard that you can sit outside; there's no view except upwards, and doesn't really live up to the term "garden" but it is outside. Food and drink is the usual Costa range, you either like or you don't. And if you don't, then there are plenty of alternatives within the immediate vicinity.

Far enough from the tourist trail that it isn't full of shouting Americans, small enough that it isn't like sitting in a barn but big enough that it doesn't usually run out of seats. One of the better Costas in the area.

It's a Costa, they sell coffee. What else is there to say?! The basement is a useful place to work quietly and there's a space outside downstairs that nice to sit in as long as no smokers are out there spoiling it!
