The staff didn't seem very cheerful, and I ordered 2 large coffees, one with one shot, and they put the extra coffee in mine, which made it too strong, so I couldn't drink it.

The customer service today was really bad. The guy on duty was ok and blameless. The long blond haired girl was rude and practically threw my order at me. It was so disrespectful that I had to write this review. I appreciate that this is a minimum wage gig but customers come first no matter how much you get paid. I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect as a basic minimum. Costa Coffee needs to retrain this member of staff or remove her from the from line.

It took 45 minutes to deliver 2 drinks! Originally the estimated delivery time was 20 minutes but they kept changing the delivery time.

I love costa but the customer service at my local drive thru in Newport is disgusting! I have been a regular costa customer for many years but the customer service at my local drive thru In Newport is disgusting! I ordered a regular Vanilla latte and a large mocha with extra chocolate. Even though I paid for the extra chocolate they didn't put any in there. I went into the store to amend this and the staff member by the name of Liv had a disgusting attitude! She threw the costa drink in the sink and re-made my drink while giving me a lecture that Costa do not allow people to customise their drinks even though I have been ordering these same drinks for years!! at various different Costa stores. This is not the first problem that I've had at this particular store. On a pervious visit I had an offer on my app of £3 off any hot drink, when I came to use it at the drive thru I was told that it was only for selected drinks (which was not stated on the apps terms and conditions) so the store manager starting giving me attitude saying she was going to have to take the £3 out of her tips - crazy!! avoid The Newport East dock road drive thru at all costs! at lest until the can employ friendly staff that know who to do their jobs.

Costa have taken the lead in coffee shops that are well stocked, with plenty of choices for food and drinks, served by friendly baristas.

Absolutely appalling. Initially said it would be 20-40 minutes, but it was 1 hr 15 minutes and they didn't even bother to heat up the sausage roll. Very disappointed.

Arrived in good time but unfortunately received a sausage bap (bread roll with sausages in) instead of a sausage roll (sausage meat wrapped in pastry)

Went on the Sunday and was behind a woman complaining her cinnamon bun latte was undrinkable, and to be fair you could smell the cinnamon a Mile away. We ordered the kit kat mocha and a regular cappuccino, and we aren't fussy people but when I tell you the drinks were disgustingly sour, like sour milk kinda sour we asked for a refund rather than a remake. Shame it used one of my free coffees on the one, but honestly £4-£5 on a coffee that was undrinkable, one after another is just bad.

Toilet was filthy. I suggest you lift the toilet lid and look at the filth and then maybe sit on the toilet, shut the door and view the cubicle from your customers, point of view!!! If you are diabetic there are NO sugar free options if you want something other than the standard coffee selection. Latte tasted of hot milk.

Decent coffee shop. Accessibility is challenging due to heavy, air lock style door entry. Often seems understaffed, but the staff there are always polite and helpful. Food is ok. Reasonable amount of parking, with some electric charging bays.

Not happy at all….!!! Didn’t have my items delivered even though the driver has said he delivered it. I saw him pedal passed the office entrance where I was. The tracking app said he was in the area but after the first sighting he was nowhere to be seen.. Not happy at all….!!!!!

Sit in or drive through with plenty of room. Nice they are open up to 20:00. Some staff could do with retraining in how to make a hot drink and please a customer but with both Costas in town closed no other choice. There are electric charging points in the carpark.

I use this costa alot due to walking that's the only reason I come here and every time they always give me the wrong milk.even though I've told them so many times I'm allergic to full fat milk.makes me on edge now that I've got to watch them pour the milk to know I'm getting the right milk.they really need to sort it out

Would not even put 1 star after my experience here today I went down to costa for a drink with me and my Mum and our service was terrible we got served a girl called liv who was full of attitude first of all I payed with a £20 pound note and my order came to 6 pound I should of received £14 back and only revived £4 I said to her I should of had 14 back and she kept saying I didn’t pay with £20 calling me a liar I 100% know I payed with £20 she kept giving attitude back till I finally got the ten pound back. Then I asked for a semi skimmed cappuccino witch is red milk as my mum is allergic to the other Milks I made it clear my mum wanted the red milk and when liv started making the drinks she poured green milk into the jug ready to make the cappuccino I told her I wanted the red milk and her still being annoyed with us about the money probed stormed round the back to get red milk and again served us with attitude my mum told her that the reason she wants red milk is cause she is allergic and she awnsered with “huh” me and my mum are regular customers and have never had any problems but today was a completely horrible experience please watch your money and make sure your drink is correct as she is a thief and accuses people of lying will not be returning as much anymore

Food is food and coffee is hot what more can you ask for

Good coffee but quite slow service for those dining in. While I understand that the staff need to serve people in the drive thru, the service from staff could have been a bit faster for those inside. Also the staff seemed to acknowledge people waiting to order inside the store but it just seemed like they were focusing on the people in the drive thru, and not the queue building up inside.

In there now. Slow acknowledgement but good service once they got going.

I come here not just for the coffee but because it is a pleasant place to be. The place is clean and bright and sitting by the window with drink in hand allows you to dream. I love it here.

Coffee has got a little grainy and they still don't cut the sandwiches however service is still good

On this visit there were new staff, ordered 2 flat whites ,asked for them in cups, but gave me plastic disposable cups. Disappointing not listening to the customer request.

Food and drinks are lovely when they actually get it right. I use the drive thru at least once per week. Around 50% of my orders have issues. Its usually that they haven't put the hazelnut syrup in my hot chocolate or they've burned a toastie so nothing major but frustrating when I'm spending so much with them. A couple of the staff members have also been dismissive or just not pleasant to deal with. Think they need more training in customer service.

Great service, service with a smile. The place was full by the looks. Every table was taken pretty much, which is a good sign. Coffee was lovely. Lovely little spot just off the River Usk.

Great friendly staff, need more staff so they dont have to close early as they sometimes do,chilled place to relax and drink coffee. Need a tray rack as when it get very busy, there is no where to put the dirty cup etc from the tables, so as you can sit and drink your coffee!!

I have been in this coffee shop twice now. The staff are amazing and the new Christmas menu is very good. The. Disabled parking is great and the disabled is also accessible and easy to use.

Wanted to say thank you to the lovely blonde lady serving early morning whilst I was looking for passport office! She was v lovely at 6.30 am great coffee eats and directions all with a smile thank you 😊

Love all the colleagues here. I go here that often that they even know my order and voice as I'm ordering. It was so heart warming to hear "at a cooler temperature today" before i could even say it. Thats made my day and will stay with me for life. Please go to this costa you'll be served with a smile and lot and lots of care.

Really great building, design and layout are excellent. Friendly server. Coffee ok. Generally understaffed and cannot cope, hence very slow. I see little evidence of a leader, supervisor. Could be much better.

Got a simple order wrong, gave us a mango frappe instead of fruit coolers. One of us is allergic to dairy, pretty poor

This is a Costa drive through in Newport, that also has a place to sit in doors and outside. It was a hot day and I just wanted to have a little sit down and enjoy a light lunch. The staff were friendly and efficient despite having to do double duty of service to the drive through and the walk in clients. The café was clean with lots of different configurations for seating that can accommodate different party sizes. Was a little disappointed 😥 that although on the menu board, the selection of vegan options was non existent. As a dairy intolerant vegetarian, the only thing l could find was the mushroom and spinach roll. Which by the way was delicious. However it would be nice to have actually been able to purchase any of the other items that they held as being in offer. Hence the single star deduction

Really enjoyed this costa when it opened and would come regularly but constant ‘staff shortages’ have caused numerous wasted trips without any heads up so won’t be going here again unless drive thru only as there’s no consistency to opening times. A shame, lots of potential

I've been here a few times and the staff are always friendly, the place is clean and tidy.

Absolute terrible service, got the order wrong twice and the woman making my coffee decided to take it personaly that i wanted what I'd ordered. Rude, smelly and incosiderate staff. Wouldnt drive through here with a tractor full of manure. I think one of the staff has hearing problems because she kept shouting "WHAT" to me from behind the counter. Wasnt even busy just very poor service from poorly trained staff.

Brand new and spick and span. Convoluted car park/drive-thru lane makes assessment of car parking availability difficult. Sitting area adequate and light but outlook over fenced car park very dowdy ruining ambience. As is common with combined drive-thrus staff at full stretch and counter service friendliness suffers. But coffee and food all good.

The drive thru is a great way is getting drinks on the go. I usually visit around 10.30am and it's always fairly quiet - it only takes a minute or two until I'm being served. The staff are friendly and the drinks are nice (as expected).

Was busy the time that we got there, however this was on a bank holiday. This is a new store and the staff are really friendly, great coffee!

Understaffed. Tastes good. But long long wait. Dont dare to go to the drive thru.

Disappointed, ignorance at highest level. First about 18.150pm visited request coffee and cup of oat milk for child at age one and a half. Request drink to be warm. Present scolding hot, then have asked to add some cold oat milk, barista took cup away and have returned with same hot drink (I have advised this is for little child) I we couldn't check we would get burned. All drinks were overly hot. Shame new opened Costa dropped standards few weeks after opening. At best drinks below avarage.
