Concept: On 01/06/2024, at 15:45, I had a catch-up with good friends in Newport's Market. Timing of visit: Saturday 01/06/2024, 15:45-17:30. Order: A Caerleon carbonara and a garlic bread. Price: £17.84. Quality of carbonara: Edible (3*). Recently, I was in Athens and had a spaghetti carbonara with my girlfriend in a restaurant in Victoria square. The comparison of foods made my palate depressed. The bacon was hard and it was too much for the amount of pasta. Quality of garlic bread: Excellent (7*). Method of payment: Debit card. Staff: Helpful (5*). Service: Excellent (7*). Atmosphere: Noisy (4*).

Best pasta dish I've ever eaten! I ordered 'The God Father', which was the most delicious beef bolognese ragusa. The depth of flavour was incredible, it was complimented with toppings of freshly grated parmesan, spring onions and pea shoots. The food came within a matter of minutes and the service was excellent. You need to get yourself down to Newport market and try out the Italian Job! It's that good, I returned 6 weeks later and ordered the God Father for a second time.

We dined at the Newport market last night. We’ve eaten food at the Italian job before and we’re looking forward to eating there again. We went for the bolognaise fries, carbonara fries, bread sticks and chicken strips. The carbonara fries the Mac and cheese sauce was tasty but was confused by the lack of real bacon bits rather than the salad topping. The bolognaise fries had flavour and the fries were a little over cooked. Now the bread sticks were terrible full of grease we took them back too the chef saying he would make another batch. I’ve never seen someone deep fry bread sticks to serve to customers. No wonder they were full of grease. I asked for the garlic bread instead as I would like something I could bite rather than break my teeth like the bread sticks did. All in all it didn’t leave a good taste in my mouth and not something I will return to in the future. Bread sticks should be baked not deep fried feels like they’re cutting corners. The only thing that tasted good were the chicken strips which I’m hoping were handmade and not brought in.

Stopped here for lunch recently and was not disappointed. The food was outstanding and service excellent.Better than some far more expensive restaurants.Im vegetarian and had the pasta in a delicious creamy sauce with garlic bread.My son opted for the arancini,which looked and tasted like a work of art.Even the fries with parmesan were amazing.Friendly,warm service.Many thanks.Go give it a try if youre in the area.

Food from the Italian job was amazing, we tried a mixture of foods and they were all really nice. Highly recommend and will be going back there very soon!

From entering the Newport food court we were amazed at the size of the venue. We'd heard some great reviews about 'The_Italian_Job' and was looking forward to trying things. As a family of 4 (12-53), there was plenty for all to choose from. Great kids menu available. I can't explain how AMAZING the food tasted, I tried some of everything we ordered. 3 different pasta dishes, the stunning Mount Etna, 2 variations of chips, mozzarella sticks, cheesy onion rings, mac & cheese bites and Garlic bread... Portion sizes were spot on, presentation just outstanding, service incredible. The venue has a great ordering service, via an easy to use app. This include drinks as well as the food. Then all the orders are brought to the table. Not a bad word to be said about any Part of our visit 10/10 easily.

The Italian job is 10/10! The food here is top notch, the portions sizes are generous and everything I’ve ordered has always tasted amazing. Ordering is easy and service is super quick, these guys do not mess around. I would 100% recommend stuffing your face with them, you won’t be disappointed ❤️

Food was amazing as always, nearly every visit to the Newport market I will get at least 1 item from the Italian job it’s always a solid option. Mac and cheese, chicken tenders, Brie wedges are usual favourites of mine, the gravy… OH MY DAYS THE GRAVY <3 only let down was the service which was nothing to do with the restaurant to be fair.

Always order something from here when we go to Newport Market. Quality is always amazing and the dishes never fail to disappoint! Love how they come out with new meals and specials often- and the Xmas dishes are amazing!

I don't normally do many reviews, particularly not for food places, but the Italian Job was outstanding today. I had the calamari, which is almost always first choice anywhere I go and I cant think of a time when it tasted better than today. Just perfect. I only wish I was in Newport more often to go back and see if everything else is as good!

Been there a couple of times, the food was exceptional, first time me and my husband went, we were a bit late, and he was so nice to us, and made us a bolognaise with some chips and gave us free drinks, he was so lovely, would totally recommend, the food is delicious

Ordered a couple of side dishes, calamari and parmesan fries. Both were excellent, will definitely venture into the main menu when I visit Newport Market next.

We ordered the pasta bowl and pepperoni fries as part of our meal and these were both amazing! Look forward to trying the Carbonara fries next time we visit.

First time eating at the Italian job. I had the caerleon carbonara which interested me as I've never had a carbonara with a Welsh twist before. If it wasn't so filling I would have had more portions. As a big eater the portion was perfect and so tasty definitely will be back to eat again

The food is absolutely outstanding! Always served top quality grub and the guys and gals at IJ are amazing! Couldnt recommend it enough! Hope to see these guys around for a long time

Our favourite place to eat in the market have visited several times since opening. Love the specials as well and new things on the menu keep us coming back. As you can see here our little one can’t wait to have some when he’s a bit bigger!

Had the prawn linguine earlier today, and being coeliac, need gluten free so they replaced the linguine with GF fusilli. They keep gluten free pasta in stock, and seemed very clued up. Was really tasty. Great addition to the market.

NEVER again! I ordered some Parmesan fries. At the till they tried to charge me more than what shown on their board with prices! After a very long wait, I went to politely remind them about my order and they confessed they forgot to serve me. My fries were there ready and left to become cold. And the Parmesan was FAR from being authentic!
