I really enjoy getting baguettes and brownies from fresh start after I do the school run. Everything is freshly made , they fill the baguettes right up. I do find it’s a little expensive but that doesn’t stop me from returning. The girls are nice and friendly , there’s quick and efficient service and a lovely show of brownies, cookies and other cakes also

Went to get food and had the pup with us, asked if it was ok for her to come in, which they ladies said yes. Got a lovely baguette and the most amazing nutella brownie. Will defo be going back!

Lovely friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, great choice. Even let us bring the poor dog in out the rain. Best brownie I’ve ever had and at a fab price. Will definitely be eating from here again. Had a baguette yesterday but will try the jackets potato next 🤤

My son took me there for the first time, we had two tuna baguettes, they were overflowing with tuna and a bag of spoilies for later - I won’t be able to pass that shop again without dropping in for something!

Basic baguette with no thought put into it. Lot of processed meat filling. Need some creative sauces to surround the different meats and combinations on offer.

Popped in to buy lunch whilst visiting the roman ruins. Great choice of sandwiches/baguettes/wraps including some great vegan and vege options. Our wraps were great and extremely good value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. Definitely recommend.

Best turkey bacon salad ever. My husband had chicken bacon mayo baguette he also said it best he ever had. Food fresh and bread made in house etc. Very highly recommended.

Husband just bought me a takeaway salad box for lunch. Very impressed with the presentation, the contents were delicious, lots of choice and so fresh. Definitely will be paying a visit again soon

Lovely cakes, salads and jacket potatoes and the staff are always friendly. Unfortunately, I find the coffee very bitter 😑.

I've passed this coffee shop a number of times and it looks enticing from the outside. Today I finally had time to call in and ordered two hot chocolate drinks, two brownies, a wrap and a jacket potato. Not a small order for this type of shop at a little under £16. Sadly the service was scrappy; no-one smiled and the middle aged lady with blonde hair was very short in her interactions but when another customer came in, she smiled and chatted and immediately handed over the completion of our order to a younger female who wasn't wearing any type of face covering. The hot chocolate was okay, the brownies were nice but the jacket potato was cold. All considered I won't be calling here again which is a shame as I pass every day.

Great coronation chicken baguette. Served with appropriate social distancing.

I popped in for a quick lunch and was met by friendly staff. The cafe was clean and bright. I had a salad, humus and falafel baguette. The pea and mint falafel were very tasty. Soya milk was available for my cuppa. Good prices too. An array of brownies and cakes are available.

Always great quality baguettes and coffee. They are really accommodating in terms of making things just how you like them.

Always a warm welcome. Good variety of options for sandwiches and baguettes, which they loads up on the fillings. The brownies are also worth the trip alone! Keep up the good work.

I won’t be going here again, I was ignored and spoken too with attitude. The wrap was nice but shame about the service.

I have driven by this cafe a few times and only recently stopped to give it a go. There are some vegetarian options, it is a shame they don't do vegan chilli on jacket potatoe unless it is winter. Some of the staff are friendly... I like how they use environmentally friendly, plastic free items. I haven't tried the cakes but they look absolutely delicious! The deco of the place is great too. It is reasonably priced. I probably won't return for lunch as I've tried both their vegetarian options available now- be nice if there was more choice for vegetarians and vegans. Would return to try one of their cakes.

My colleague recommended the Fresh Start as they had been there before and enjoyed the food.I visited today and I agree with my colleague the food was lovely. I had a cream cheese, walnut and celery salad which was amazing and the price was just right. The ladies were friendly and helpful and did not rush me while I was looking at what I'd like to eat. I will be going back again that is for sure.Thank you ladies

Discovered this place while out exploring the Roman Ruins. Baguettes are amazing here, really big portions and tasty. Would Highly recommend the Nutella Brownines. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

Great place with very friendly staff, very good Welsh cakes and tea, comfortable seating and atmosphere too.

Popped by on the off-chance to grab a coffee, and saw the selection of sandwich fillings and great cakes/slices on display and forgot the coffee and went for a coronation chicken salad wrap and a coconut-Choc slice. Wow, what a feast. I like my food and I was hugely surprised by both quality, quantity and therefore value for £5 lunch - wrap & sweet slice. If you’re nearby...defo worth a stop in. And if you’re not, you may want to take a quick detour...

I had a Ham, salad with some Egg mayo, it was huge, a lovely lunch and reasonably priced. No skimping on the portions, they also serve great coffee.

Excellent cafe! I go every day, they are extremely generous with all their proteins and everything is super fresh and well priced. The staff are also very lovely and helpful.

We visit Fresh Start fairly often, both to sit in and take out. We have never had anything less than a wonderful experience with Fresh Start. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. They're very generous on their portion sizing too!

I live in the village and always come here at least once a week as the baguettes are delicious and the prices are the best in the village. Always get more filling for the price and the cookie dough brownies are amazing :). Would recommend anybody to come here if your in the village.

Lovely little shop! Very welcoming ladies. Only went in for a baguette for lunch, never been before or even knew it was there, saw the cakes and how you can leave without buying one I don’t know, I took ages to decide! They All looked amazing, sandwiches well filled and worth the price, I left with a Nutella brownie eventually, omg!! Was amazing! Not even sickly like I thought it would be! can’t wait to go again, well worth the money spent, highly recommended

This place is great for a quick lunch, you can also sit and eat in but it get very busy at lunch time with all the school children/students as its's so popular! These guys stuff their sandwiches to the brim with goodness! Well priced for what you get, and deserts are die for!

Me encuentro a mis amigos el martes por un poco de ciclismo y el olor que emanan de esta pequeña tienda es imposible resistirse! Debo tener una galleta recién horneados! Son muy rico. Gran lattes y sándwiches. . . Este es un lugar perfecto para pop-en para empezar el día. Personal encantador y un gran servicio. Recomiendo encarecidamente.

Sandwiches, baguettes and coffee with some inside seating. Sainsburys across the road so it must be good and it is. Sometimes you just need a beef and Stilton. Handy location near a cash point.

As I promised I will come back a few more times and take some photos before writing my review. This time I will give 5/5. The food is always delicious and fresh and the staff is welcoming. It is always a pleasure to see Flora.

Yo pedí específicamente y señalando hacia la tarta que selecciona y la señora sirve tendra en cuenta mi solicitud y me dieron uno que era de inferior calidad. Desde el boca a boca me llevó creer que fue un comienzo fresco café encantador, estaba claramente mal informados. No seré cliente de nuevo.

Porque de trabajo me visita Caerleon una vez, es decir dos veces al mes. Me decidí a visitar fresco Comienzo y estoy muy contento. Tuve pollo tikka baguette. Era fresca, sabrosa y exuberante. Tuve plana de color blanco. Fue excelente y me sorprendió. Normalmente cafés hacen plana familiar pésimo blanco. Me agradeció el personal para mi bebida. Y yo tenía algunas pastas con nuttella extraños. Debería haber tenido galés pasteles jajaja. Normalmente tomar fotos para publicar, pero esta vez no lo hice. El personal parecía un poco tensa y reservados. Tuve una sensación que se dijeron para tomar fotos, jajaja. Pero volveré y si el personal estará feliz le doy 5 / 5

Been working for a few days in Caerleon and Fresh Start was just up the road.Cracking freshly made coffee to take away along with delicious cakes etc.Cups and lids are all compostable well done Fresh Start.Will return and happy to recommend.

The clue is in the name. Food is always fresh and tasty. The baguettes are always stuffed to the rafters with filling. Quick service, reasonable price. Be sure to take a welshcake with your order.

Always pop in to pick up a sandwich to take to work when I have the time. Superb selection of goodies to pile into a freshly baked baguette. Can put what I want on it from goats cheese to sun dried tomatoes and olives.....whatever takes my fancy, and they do a great job putting it all together. Very pleased to have it available to me locally. Don't drive past without trying it out!

I could not believe the volume of Local school kids that eat at this place. the snacks are freshly made and far better for a school meal that is on at the supermarkets

By far my favourite sandwich bar in the area! Staff are excellent and one of the lovely ladies even knows what I order now - (perhaps I go in too much!) Never had a bad experience. Recommend highly

I'm a regular at fresh start and I'm so fortunate enough to live right around the corner from this fantastic little shop. The staff are amazing and are always so kind and talkative. The food is always excellent and the fillings are always piled in. You never leave fresh start unsatisfied. It's simply perfection.

Great for an early morning coffee to take away with a fresh sandwich for lunch and a cheeky bun for breakfast....service always nice with 2 smiles from 2 very pleasant and friendly ladies, a great start to an early morning

This is the first review I've actually taken the time to write on here but I feel the need to spread the word about this place! What a gem. Although I've always LOVED my food, I am a bit of a fussy eater - and they even catered to my weird taste buds! Really enjoyed my food and the staff were great! Attentive and really friendly - I even at one point think I started supporting the Wales in the rugby world cup! Great team - great food and looks the part. Go here.

I loved the look of this shop but was really disappointed!!. Coffee was mediokre and service was not particularly friendly. My entire experience consisted of what seemed like the owner stood talking to her staff at the desk- she was particularly rude and did not even acknowledge my experience when I both entered and left the cafe. Will definitely not be returning or recommending.

Wonderful sandwiches with delicious fillings, and different more inventive options. All ingredients are really fresh. The cookies are divine too as are the other sweet items (brownies etc) which are all homemade.The staff here are so friendly and welcoming too.Give it a try, you'll love it.

Fresh food, good quality, some local produce. Friendly service. Nice, vibrant decor. Relatively extensive menu to cater for a variety of palates.

We had a buffet for 150 people with both hot and cold food. The food was delicious and looked fantastic. Lots of our guests wanted to know where it came from. Flo, the owner, is a young and talented caterer. Her team were really pleasant and helpful. We will definitely use Fresh Start again.

Well worth a detour to sample the baguettes and sandwiches here in Caerleon. Fullest fillings ever and all fresh and prepared to order. Brownies and welsh cakes lovely to finish.Also sampled recently a buffett from Fresh Start, which is to be recommended.Great value!
