We visited for the second time today and had a lovely sandwich lunch. We couldn’t decide what to have! The next table had full English which I’ll try next time as looked yummy. We were given a taster of todays soup- gazpacho which was delicious too. The staff are very affable and there’s a very friendly atmosphere. There are seats outside too. Dog friendly a bonus for me.

A conflicted 5 stars, as I have no interest in hurting a local places rating when I’ve just moved locally, or hurting places rating that have done me no wrong period, but I offer my feedback none the less. As far as a small village coffee shop goes, it is what I would expect, and Horsley is lucky to have it. There are things are missing that probably get a pass from me because of its demographic and small village nature. I had a flat white, dine in, served in a take away cup. I looked around and saw big mugs mainly. My guess is, being a strongly British area, they are used to big hot mugs, and not coffee served shorter at 65 degrees, I am guessing they probably don’t have dine in flat white cups, which is probably an expense they don’t require really so fair play. Just a guess though! My coffee tasted excellent to be fair, so kudos there! It was however more textured like a cappuccino on the frothy side. The decor inside is lovely and rustic, it really does look warm cozy and comfortable, I would almost think I was in hipster parts of Melbourne. There are dogs everywhere which I love. I’d be curious to know their food hygiene rating after what I saw on trip advisor, that was grim reading. I only hope it’s improved since 2019/20 as I believe anything below 4 stars is farcical, and that all places should legally be required to show their hygiene rating on the window. I read reviews about locals getting the service and outsiders feeling just like that, outsiders. I understand that perspective from what I saw, but it’s probably a tricky one to manage on their end too. There are some hospitality aspects missing to take this place to another level, but that’s also a level they probably don’t really need to strive for. Overall, a small business supported by the locals clearly, and I sensed very good vibes amongst them, if you’re passing by and need a coffee I’d give them your business but I wouldn’t go out of the way to come here if it’s more than 15 minutes out of your way.

We visit daily when we visit from Scotland. They are the most wonderfully friendly people--they always recognize us and have a chat and it's like home from home. The cakes are to die for and they are one of the few places that trim the fat off their bacon in their delicious breakfast sandwiches. And the coffees are spot on! Simply the best and friendliest coffee shop I have ever visited.

Quirky, good atmosphere, coffee is decent and but it needs to vary its menu a little. Probably very comfortable for locals and regulars but I think it needs freshening up every so often. The service given area /counter /coffee machine can be loud at times and often the music played becomes irritating.

Owner Robin, is the ultimate host and raconteur who will always greet you like a long lost friend and mean it! Quaich is the social centre of the Horsleys where you can while away contemplative moments or dash through for a quick coffee (if you can, that is ignore the home made cakes, snacks or gorgeous sandwiches)! I defy you to leave without having smiled, made or re-newed acquaintances and resolved to return again soon.

This is by far the most disorganised Costa I have ever been to. It always used to be good however my recent visit was appalling. Just have a look behind the counter where they serve your coffee! There's grounds everywhere, staff with dirty uniforms and the seating areas are not cleared regularly. There's a guy which I think is the manager that sits near the counter in his laptop all day. Why doesn't he pitch in or manage the cleanliness. As for the coffee, my cappuccino was half froth. Not good at all. I can honestly say I will not be visiting this Costa again.

I came across this Costa above Waterstones in Guildford High Street. It was great fun, walking across an open space to get into the café on a Saturday morning - and it was well full. I stopped commuting to London a year ago, and stopped coming in here long before that, preferring the takeaway coffee shop on the station platform. I should say at this point that I am a big fan of Costa. It's great coffee, and although I visit independent coffee shops a lot, I always like coming here for the coffee and full fat milk, which ruins a lot of independent places that insist on forcing you to have semi-skimmed milk. So, I return after more than a year, and there is rubbish all over the floor behind the serving counter, the servers' aprons are filthy at 7.30 in the morning (with the exception of my barista), and when I sit down at my table, it is full of crumbs, and hasn't been wiped down for a while. I know people who don't mind it, and point out that it's extremely busy, but in that case they are making more money, and can afford to employ more staff. I also had a hard and dried out croissant, and while the croissants are never fresh that morning, this is also a repeated issue I used to have here. It is literally the only Costa Coffee I refuse to visit, and I have been in them all over the world. Must do better!

Overpriced and low quality. The avocado sandwich comes on average supermarket bread and costs £11. The layer of avocado was barely a layer. The espresso is made with over roasted coffee and is more like an americano. There was a staff of six for in such a small venue. Paid £32 for two avocado sandwiches, a hot chocolate and an espresso. Joke.
