We love Costa coffee and have used many around the country and this particular one on several occasions but we have now stopped using it, the staff are fine but it is the dirtiest Costa we go to, the staff never clear the tables and if you want to clear a table the clearing trollies are always full. It is a shame because we did enjoy the atmosphere when we could get clean table.

Situated in Tesco. Reliable coffee. Nice selection of cakes and sandwiches. Good vegan options available and vegan cakes. Big queue and a bit slow clearing the tables. Could do with more staff .

I'm giving 5 stars because at a point when I was low, they helped. I used to get boiling water for my Pot Noodle and early in the morning I'd get one of those Lemon Tarts from the day before. Always appreciated. I really can't comment on Atmosphere as it's just like any indoor corporate space. Not cosy. Just simple.

Ordered a vegetarian item Bosh bbq chicken pannini I was sent a real chicken pizza wrap, which I only realised once biting into it so not great

Cup of coffee had tipped over in the delivery bag, so sandwich was wet and cold.

Nice friendly staff, decent drinks, food had little filling in it but was nice enough - just not for the price!! Two drinks and two pre-made food items set us back just under £20 😳 My heart sank

Lovely kids who work here. Always smiling and making everyone feel valued.

The only flaw was that it was warm by arrival - but that was easily fixed by a few seconds in the microwave.

Whilst waiting in the queue to be served Alan Wardell the barista made sure he acknowledged everyone who arrived with a smile and telling them he would get to them shortly. I love this as it was both welcoming, professional and refreshing. Thank you Adrian.

One of the dirtiest Costas I have ever been in. Only one or two tables clean. Tray stack full, full dirty trays everywhere including window sills.

I have never been to such a slow Costa. It took them 15 minutes to serve 2 people in the queue. No urgency and not even good customer service excusing the slow service.

Located inside Tesco Baldock, is this very, (yes, I'll say it), "charming" and spacious Costa Coffee, my first visit to this one, and of all the supermarket Costa's this is definitely one of the better ones, The staff are very friendly and very welcoming, There are plenty of cosy armchairs to chill out in and plenty of practical tables and chairs for that family visit, It's definitely worth a visit. Let's try and keep this Costa. Many are disappearing from supermarkets, and it's real shame Keep up the good work, guys and girls, I'll be back

Staff polite but seemed distracted - 2 attempts at soya latte & charged for extra item which had to be refunded to card by manager. Food & drinks enjoyed.

Dirty tables, slow service, overpriced food- what has happened to Costa?

A dirty place where tables are rarely cleaned. Looks like a bomb has gone off in the middle of the café, with stressed out staff looking like they wished they weren't working there. Very average coffee and food. Avoid it!

It's a Costa,it does what you need it to do. They always give my son a few marshmallows as he doesn't have cream on his hot chocolate. The staff are friendly but not as efficient as they could be. Never seem to be enough of them on shift either, making waiting a problem if you are in a rush for takeaway (many are!) Leaving long lines & frustrated customers.

Can anyone explain y so expensive had the same coffee and sandwich in cambridge for 2.50 now y is that is the coffee made of gold there bad stars rip off

Since the new manager came to tesco costa has been definetly levelled up, great team work , always smiling no matter how bussy they are, all stuff is so friendly and can make good coffee

This Costa located inside Tesco is superb. It has plenty of room which is unusual for a coffee shop. The best bit is the staff. Bright and friendly and efficient they make a good cup of coffee. Well done.

My daughter spilled half her innocent smoothie all over the table and without asking, Alan the manager cleaned the table for us and gave us a new smoothie and anti-spill cup! Best Costa in the world! 👌

Great coffee and serive what's happened to the interer. Looks like I'm sitting in IKEA . Chairs are uncomfortable .

The staff were friendly and efficient ordered 2 cake 1 tea and decaf cappucino cakes ok but apparently the tea had a funny taste and it seems like all costas I have been to is very week just a little flavour over plain milk. Would I go again don't think so it's about 5 yrs since the last one I visited. I think it will another 5yrs before I visit another

Always the longest queues for a costa. Drinks hit and miss on quality depending on who makes it.

This place needs a kick up the backside.the lady serving helpful ,the cleaner could have away the way he was.no mask tables not one cleared. Come on Costa you got taken and you are going down hill liven or get sold again

Worst experience ever ordered 2 lunch time specials £8 plus cake charged £13.71 Said Incorrect was told till not accept lunch time deal nothing they could do Asked to speakTo Manager she was rude and abrupt said if I wanted it have to pay that price Gave me customer number told me to call them she said she is leaving next week so what We decided to walk away terrible experience of customer service Queue formed overheard all the incident some people walked away We went on our journey called in at Hatfield Costa had meal deal lovely sevice paid correct price WHAT Was The problem in Baldock

Visited today with wife's aunt in wheelchair. Only 1 star to post review, would take it back if I could! Half toasted sandwiches, asked for wheat free and given sandwich clearly marked as containing wheat!!! Grumpy unsmiling staff who look like they're really happy in their work!! 😕. Every request seemed to be too much trouble! Wouldn't ever go back to this place again, avoid like the plague.

Never been to this costa before, quick service with friendly staff. Loads of seating. All the tables seemed clean, lots of spare seating, opted for a very comfy sofa by the window. Great coffees and some lovely cake made for a great visit.

It's much the same as the other Costa places. They all say that they don't do cinnamon flavour anymore. It's seasonal. Even though I have been having it for years in some. It's a popular choice of syrup.

Costa provides a pleasant oasis for busy Tesco shoppers with a good selection of snacks and drinks to rejuvenate their efforts. An attractive decor and atmosphere adds to the experience with only the odd wailing child to spoil things.

40 minute queue when few people in front is a joke. Never again.

Understaff and slow. Paid for a flat white and a new Xmas hot chocolate. Received half a hot chocolate with none of the Xmas toppings or flavour and a deformed cappuccino. Place was not dirty so that’s why not a 1 star. They were to backed up to sort out a refund.

I used to visit this Costa with friends every single week on a Saturday. Staff were friendly,same staff every week so you got to know them. Now its practically different staff every time. Today we were told we cannot have salted caramel frostino or latte due to the high sugar content. Run out of strawberry or mint syrups so couldn't have those either. We were also served in takeaway cups as they never seem to have enough cups probably because staff are in short supply. Tables invariably not cleared away. Lucky if you get a spoon to stir your drink. Come on Costa, what is going on. I think Starbucks is calling my name, at least they dont rum out of drinks and its clean and you get proper cups. Very sad that it's gone like it has. Not the staffs fault, it comes from above.

Great staff yet the place and surroundings are looking tired. In need of TLC and updating

The queues are always extremely long which is not a problem if the shelves are fully stocked . We arrived at the beginning of lunchtime and selected the only main option they had for their meal deals , only to get to the till and be told that my cheese and Wiltshire ham toastie was not part of the deal it had to be cheese and ham toastie. Why have the signs up for a meal deal if you have not got the components to make up the deal. Even without the deal the chilled section was nearly empty. Terrible service, with the attitude of tough we have what you see ,never again.

I used to like Costa coffee.Its been of good strong taste but now it has only a weak taste. They pre grind the coffee which looses it's taste within minutes. The coffee machines look untidy. Not a nice coffee experience which I loved in the past. Coffee brand tasted a cheap brand and not worth the money. I grew up with good coffee so I know what I'm talking about Also too expensive

Been here several times as it's a convenient location to my house and if the missus is shopping in Tesco's. Standard fare for a Costa. Coffee menu sometimes changes for seasonal specials, which is nice. Food is grossly overpriced, as per all Costas, which drops 1 star from me. So apart from the food pricing, I really love coming here.

It’s a Costa, you get all the usual Costa stuff and it’s a good size, buts it’s looking worn and tatty now, overall a bit grubby. Being in a supermarket it’s quite noisy and as the trolley cupboards can’t be locked quite a few people (understandably) take their trolleys into the seating area for security reasons. Staff are always pleasant, but it desperately needs new furniture and decoration.

A beautiful cappuccino at Costa Baldock, inside Tesco. Lovely and hot with a spiced stem ginger biscuit - perfect combo.

Thank you Costa manager (sorry didn't get your name )for finding my purse that I had left there on Saturday, unfortunately quiet abit of money had gone!!! But still grateful got purse back with all my cards in !

Its Costa... Say no more. Good quality products, but quite expensive.

It's alright. It's a bit worn down in there, old furniture, old equipment etc but that's quite typical of a Costa these days. The staff are pretty consistent but not always the cheerier of people. Often the cups and spoons are dirty when given to me which is a big let down.

All you can expect from a Costa. Crazy prices and mediocre food. Staff have had a sense of humour bypass and have no patience for anyone. So if you want a well overpriced poncey coffee go here. If not, buy a jar of coffee in tesco, get some milk and go home and have a brew. Bring back the old Tesco Cafe!

I assume the people of Baldock are friendly in general... its hard to get use to breakfast here in England but thats my tastebuds not the food... reliable coffee or snack place inside Tesco.

Had an accident in one of their branches, chair was faulty and broke,I injured my back when I landed on the floor. I'm disabled and I got the impression that they were blaming me and my disability for the incident!

The staff are so nice, happy, friendly and most of all. THEY SMILE !! Happy staff, Happy customers, Ringing till's.

Costa is always reliable when you need some coffee. The muffins and pastries here are good when you are hungry on a cold morning!

Great coffee shop on located on the side of an iconic tesco store, staff friendly and observant i dont even have to order they all remember what i have! Makes you want to go back every day and always same faces working so you know the staff are treated good. Would be nice if they opened the doors and put some tables out in the summer there is some small space beside tesco for this but im not sure about tesco policy and what fees they will charge but deffinately check them out

Took away a cafe a real one where we could get a breakfast bacon eggs etc in Stevenage store still a Costa bit does great breakfast and food to me a cafe without proper food not just panini etc is not a cafe at all
