Costa in Taunton Deane

Absolutely awful. Coffee was that bad I threw it away. There are cobwebs from the light fixtures behind the counter. Flies on the tarts in the cake counter one member of staff wafted it off the custard tart and it went to a cherry bakewell but neither one were taken out the unit glad i wasnt eating. For not lo g having a referb I will not be going back any time soon. Staff were friendly enough but very slow even forgetting one woman's drink.

Feel sorry for the staff. This Costa is minging!! Filthy toilets, no running water, dirty teapots, broken fridge. A decent coffee but really feel for the staff

Stopped in here with 2 children for a quick hot chocolate break following a mornings sale shopping, quick service lovely coffee and cake. A little too much mess laying around on spare tables but it was busy.

Although a regular coffee drinker, tend not to use this particular shop very often (must be a couple of years ago). Anyway, good coffee, atmosphere, friendly staff. From the street, place looks tired - in need of a repaint. No reason to wait two years for the next visit, though.

First impressions count and here they really do.. staff are very friendly and welcoming, plenty of seating within the place, and its not its usual office / single mum creche that most costas have become. Food and drinks are standard across the board, but staff make this place better than the rest

They handled my order for a warm halfshot cappuccino which many have struggled with. Nice coffee, great carrot cake and friendly ambience and staff.

Coffee ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. Price too high for what you get. Didn't eat as again too pricy

Typical Costa. Good town location. Cafe quiet when we got there. Staff friendly and efficient. Good coffee and lovely hot chocolate

My daughter & I were here at 11.30ish this morning. On arrival there was a very long slow moving queue. When we were eventually served the "lady" barrista was so very rude. She ignored us completely so we, politely gave our order, that was it! Apart from asking for payment there were no pleasantries, let alone an apology for keeping us waiting so long. I realised this persons first language was not English but I know for a fact, that Costa training means this should NEVER happen. We will not go here again!

Dropped by when requiring a rest and refueling whilst shopping in Taunton. Staff were a little robotic but polite and our drinks were well made and served. I was particularly impressed with the new drinks menu which clearly shows what each coffee consists of - useful for working out some of the newer things on offer. All in all a decent place and a pleasant visit!

Our coffee shop of choice every week, primarily due to consistent quality and especially the friendly and helpful staff.

Popped in for a coffee before going home. It was late on a Sunday afternoon and they were still busy. Staff polite. Had a bit of a queue and then had to find a table. Lots of tables still waiting to be cleared away and cleaned which lets it down. Coffee and hot chocolate were very good as was the bakewell tart.

If you don't feel like eating inside, the covered walkway to Sainsbury's is available. Good when you have many shopping bags and to watch the world go by. The hot chocolate is pretty good too

This is an average Costa and one of two in the town centre. Clean and the staff are friendly. Costa is Costa

A regular standard Costa Coffee location. I have always found the staff to be pleasant and courteous and efficient at preparing and serving our drinks in a timely manner.

This is fairly normal for a Costa. Poorly trained staff taking far too long to produce drinks. On this occasion two drinks were missed off the order which took 17 minutes to prepare!! Do Costa have real staff trainers?

Always choose this Costa when we are in Taunton, Always friendly, welcoming, clean... if there's a queue it's because it's popular

Whilst I like to support independent cafés this Costa does do consistently nice coffees and I have always found the staff to be friendly even when they are rushed off their feet. The coffee is well made and tastes good and there are all the typical range of cakes and sandwiches on offer.

This is the place to grab a coffee some other drink, a sandwich or Danish pastry and sit down and spend time relaxing with a paper for book. Or you can sit by one of the windows and watch the world go by.

Took 25 mins to get two drinks and two muffins. Would have left had we not been trying to feed our 6 month old lunch

No welcome at this Costa. The woman member of staff who took our money did not respond when we asked for coffee so we were not sure whether she had heard our order. Scowls rather than smiles were the response. Later when delivering a bacon roll to an adjacent customer I heard them request tomato sauce at which she tutted, walked off and never returned. My Flat White was lukewarm. The toilets upstairs had a sign on them saying that they were out of order. My recent experience of Costa in various locations throughout the country appears to indicate a downward spiral in both service and the quality of the coffee. Disappointing and not what is expected from a major coffee chain which used to pride itself on good service and good coffee.

The coffee house in Taunton is over priced and underwhelming for what it is. The food is all brought in and if you were to compare it to Roots Café which has fresh produce-then Costa is very poor value. To top it off you have to deal with staff who act like they are doing you a favour by taking your money.

Expensive, grubby, slow, uncomfortable, noisy, not relaxing, food tastes mass produced, and inexplicably busy! The coffe is ok, so it should be given the price!
