We went in after completing the Great North Run. Arrived a bit late and the staff we so accommodating! Said the we did not have much time but really pushed the boat out to make sure we had a great time. Good food and top team!

Horrific. Endless bad reviews and all of them are justified. Not sure how or why they're still open, but it needs to be investigated. The location means innocent passers by are parting with good money. Been twice (neither time my choice). Both times awful. One time refunded. Staff, food, hygiene and quality all terrible.

Visit here often since it’s opened. Last night the food was absolutely awful! Tasted cheap! Considering it cost over £60. Watery sweet and sour same with the curry sauce. Prawns were iffy. Indian curry tasted like the chef only knew of one herb. The cooking staff were AWFUL shoving past and giving filthy looks when they wanted in. Opening the trays and coughing all over it. I’m disgusted we didn’t stay long. Just enough for the children to get pudding. We grabbed food on the way home. Wouldn’t go back here ever again. I don’t know what’s happened to cosmo but they need to go back to old management or chef, because what ever has changed this isn’t it!

Quite average, well laid out and nice decor. Very new fusion lay out. £21 for a solo meal. Nothing to write home about. Flavours quite bland. Plates were cold,so my lunch was cold. Service felt arkward, cashier was confusing at till. I had to ask "So How Much". Average, some people would have felt it was poor.

Avoid! Plenty other restaurants to choose from. We booked a table online for dinner. This is a buffet style restaurant but a lot of the dishes where empty. The food was bland. Alot of the cutlery was dirty and they never cleared our plates away. Other tables had plates stacked up.

The restaurant is in a good central location and fitted out to a good spec. Unfortunately the food was bland and there was minimal choice. The service is poor. My family arrived about 2.30pm on a Thursday. Rice was hard, food luke warm, some dishes bland. All three of us left with same impression, having sampled different dishes. Service was poor. Refill glasses took an age to come. Our plates started to pile up, as did neighbouring tables, but were eventually. I can't recall if anyone asked us if everything was ok. So bad was this visit that I am making my first ever restaurant review. My wife summed it up. It was the same as leaving the restaurant and chucking £65 away.

We came here today as a family for my mam birthday I wasn't very happy from the the beginning after been seated We got to our table with was ok apart from been freezing cold normal it at least warm here we were then ask to pay before we got anything which was fair enough but the woman who was dealing with this was rude and give some of her colleagues funny look while taken our bill while taken our bill she walk off and came back a few seconds later which I thought was weird We finally finished paying we were the given glass for our drinks we were then told we were allowed to go for food We finally got food but most of the dishes were empty the food we got some things but they were cold we try our best the food but I would personally say it was very poor to time we hqve been here before Dessert time came which the child in party was looking forward too we all choose what we wanted we then came to asking for spoons and you wouldn't believe the looks we got asking for spoons was like it was the end of the world we finally got told the spoons were near the soup which they were just getting more put out but my god I never been looked at this way over asking for a spoon in my life With this been one of our party first times they had said they won't be back due to how happy their were with the service and the food

We attended this restaurant as part of a weekend away in Newcastle having visited the one in Manchester on several occasions. We were slightly put off by the thought of it being a Little Cosmo, however this proved to be no issue. There was plenty of food and it was regularly topped up. Lots of variety and options for vegetarians and fussy eaters. Food was hot and delicious so would definitely return. My only advice would be to book a table as the seating area isn't particularly large so showing up on the day might lead to disappointment.

Wasn’t sure what to expect reading other reviews. Wasn’t that impressed that you had to pay before you ate. Overall there was a decent selection of mains and deserts. Been to a few other cosmo restaurants and this one was a bit different, food was average and some items were either cold or dry. For the price you could complain.

I'd heard nothing but good things, and I was really looking forward to a late lunch following the Chinese New Year celebrations on Stowell Street... However, I left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed, and I will not be returning. The toilets were dirty, and the taps were broken... The table was dirty with no cutlery. There was food all over the floor, and there was a staffing issue as twice we cleared our own plates. The Chinese food was average (at best), but the Indian menu (Korma and Tikka Masala) was inedible... hands down, the chicken was the worst I had ever tasted. It put me off the rest of the menu. Dessert was OK. The Eton Mess was nice, but overall, my experience was very poor, and this is not a statement I make lightly. This is the first 'bad' review I have ever left; such was my disappointment.

What a disappointment this restaurant is. The food is like a banquet from Farm foods. If you’re easily pleased and like poor food, poor service and don’t mind sitting in a freezing draught every time the front door is opened then this could be the place for you. After half an hour we had a stack of plates on the table as there isn’t enough people to clean your table. It’s the first restaurant I have been to where you had to pay for everything before you get your food other than fast food restaurants. It’s as if they are expecting you to either refuse to pay for the terrible food or make a run for it. Lau’s 202 used to have this restaurant and the quality was so much better. Give this place a miss. The other reviews are definitely accurate.

With the exception of the king prawns with celery dish which was cooked perfectly, the rest of the food was pretty poor. Generic Chinese style dishes. Many items pre bought and fried. The sudo Indian dishes were an insult and embarrassment to any self respecting Indian chef. The Sushi was also an extremely poor imitation of Japanese food. The deserts were mediocre with little variation in taste. Overall, its expensive, and poor quality, so save your money and cross the road into China Town or find a decent Indian Restaurant, better to have quality over quantity.

Ordered drinks a bottle of wine 19,99 came to table after ten minutes and bottle was open and a glass had been took out,fair enough took it back and got a new bottle,every dish was cold and duck was dry and freezing waited for pancakes and thay were all wet and not worth eating and not deserts apart from scraps and ice cream machine was not on,ordered more drinks and the waiter was very rude wanting money

Absolutely vile! As soon as we came in the woman that was serving us was rude & abrupt, didn't even tell us how much it was or any information about the place. I said I had a student card & that I was paying for both of us, do I get 10% off over all & she said "no, just one!" abruptly. No niceness or pleasent greeting at all. Took money straight away before even tasted the food & drinks. I asked for a coke which it said on the drinks menu that had in bottles, she answered with "don't have any" ... What restaurant doesn't have full fat coke in any form? Had to opt for the refillable drink option which all of them were flat by the way & the machines were half not working or out of order, ridiculous seen as though was almost £4 for that ! Glasses were dirty with lip smears on, not to mention the same woman who served us never changed her gloves once, handled cash & money which is filthy, was grabbing dirty dishes around the place, was wiping the floor with the same gloves on at one point.. where's the hygiene in that? Also when took cash from us, didn't say I'll be back with the change or anything, just walked away for ages then randomly came back again. The real horror though was when we went up for the food ... The pile of plates were riddled with stained food on most of them, the cutlery had food etched between the forks, spoons had food plastered all over them as well, had to pull plates from half way underneath & clean them with tissues. Then went around the so called "buffet" where every tray of food was basically empty. Then the ones that weren't empty that were only quarter full, the rice was absolutely hard & stale, was disgusting. Kid you not when I say it almost popped my filling out! The "sweet & sour" chicken tasted of nothing & was cold. The noodles were hard & crispy as well, again stale. The turkey on the Sunday dinner option was pink & bloody inside, food poisoning for a customer waiting to happen! ... The "Yorkshire puddings" looked identical to the better buy ones from Morrisons. The gravy was lumpy & absolutely tasteless.... The teppanyaki chef had no idea what he was doing, got the order wrong twice. 3 prawns at a time, really?... I can't really eat garlic & asked for some terriyaki sauce on mine because of this & he put hoards of garlic all over it. Also got what was meant to be "steak" ? & asked for it to be well done, was still bloodied inside & was just full of grissle & fat. Also saw him toss prawns accidentally down the back of the cooker when trying to put them on somebody's plate next to me & then told him "you come back up again!" even though he'd stood & waited a while.... Chefs scrolling on their phones as well Infront of customers behind the stalls... unprofessional. Wanted salt & there was none to be found. There was a couple of lose salt & pepper shakers where the cutlery was but again, absolutely filthy, stained & weren't filled up. The deserts were also basically all empty, only had the option of two tiny slices of strawberry cake which were slimey & not even cooked properly & there was a few bits of what was meant to be cheesecake which was watery & again, just tasted & looked awful. Sister got marshmallows & a bowl of melted chocolate from the supposed chocolate fountain as that's all there really was to choose from, got to the table & she realized it had foreign objects in it, god only knows what??. Lumpy pieces of something... I mean seriously. What the actual hell are you playing at? Taking customers money BEFORE they've even tried the food & seen what it's like. The "delicatessen" bit at the side was just literally bread sticks, butter, some crackers & white miserable looking peices of bread. Where is the cheese?? There was also no plum sauce for the duck & pancakes after we waited absolutely ages for the duck to finally be filled up. Everything from start to finish was just a sh"!T show. I literally kept spitting everything out into napkins because it was so so bad. On the way out, stood & waited to make a complaint about how it all was & waited about 5 minutes before somebody even looked up from the bar area & gave us their attention. Said we travelled quite a way to try it as we've been wanting to go to Cosmos for a while now & how upset & disappointed of the experience we were, But we just got blank looks & facial expressions that they just weren't bothered at all. Telling us to fill in a survey online to get %15 off next time. There won't be a next time as we certainly won't be coming back! We want a refund of our almost £50 that was taken so abruptly before we even tried anything. Now, there's so many reviews stating how filthy & disgusting this place is. Is somebody going to finally do something about this place or what? Last time it said there was a hygiene review was January 2023 & it is now January 2024! Filled with false promises on the responses to all of the reviews by the same person, yet nothings being done. Trading standards needs to be contacted next .... STAY CLEAR unless you of course want abrupt service, money pulled off you before trying anything, a bad stomach & your fillings cracked from the stale rice that's left obviously just left overs being thrown ontop each time!!!

Visited Cosmo for a buffet dinner & we had a Blue Light card but the discount was just given for one instead of the party. It's probably one of the dirtiest buffet restaurants we have been in, where plates are left everywhere by diners who have left & staff are not clearing the tables quick enough. The buffet section looked happening initially but on closer inspection, was largely the usual fare. The containers were very messy, with bits everywhere & some were empty, with dishes not topped up quickly enough. The so-called teppanyaki counter was super slow, and an order of prawns & scallops was only two of each. Curries were poor & watery. The fried starters weren't bad, esp the samosa. Steamed veg dumpling was horrible & the skin was dry. Egg fu yong, pangasius fish & the prawns & celery were tasty, as was the cumin lamb, which was quite niche! The broccoli was nice & wasn't overcooked, but the green beans were soft & soggy. The dessert section was also a mess, with the cheese cakes so soft, it was impossible to use the tongs to grab them as they would just disintegrate. On the flipside, the coconut & passionfruit cake was actually served almost frozen! The dishes with custard & "Eton mess" just looked like sick! The chocolate fountain wasn't really functioning so it was just a puddle of chocolate which looked very off-putting. The ice cream machine was constantly not working and it kept saying "cooling" - obviously inadequate to cope with the numbers. Strangely enough, there weren't any bowls for ice cream, so you had to have it on a plate! The fruit selection of melon, orange & grape was decent but again was not always topped up. Overall, it was a poor experience. Wait staff looked overworked & frazzled. We had ordered tap water but it took forever to be given glasses, with no instruction to help ourselves to water at the drinks section. Kitchen counter staff seemed too busy chatting among themselves to ensure that the food was constantly replenished & that the serving area was kept clean. Not worth the price paid.

We unfortunately we visited cosmo on the 29.12.23 3.30 pm not to busy only second time since it opened a while ago. Very disappointed again to many empty trays and what was there was poor quality. If you want good quality food avoid this restaurant.
