Amazing range of food and drinks, staff were lovely also. Faviroute dish was the crispy aromatic duck and the crispy poppadoms.

Buffet was neither exceptional nor disappointing; it was average overall. Noise was too much. Too crowded. Food was just ok. Cosmo Derby!

Another lovely visit to Cosmo in Derby with the family. Once again, the staff were so friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Always service with a smile. The food on offer was fabulous, with so much choice and a lot of it cooked fresh in front of us. Sid, the head waiter, made sure our grandson had the best time, providing him with a cake for his birthday and a gift. We always feel part of a big family when we come here. And always leave with full tummies and a smile.

I had been to Cosmo few times now. They had made few changes to Covid -19 guidelines as compared to past. Everything was smooth. Its hands down a great experience overall. The food was amazing and more importantly its consistent. There are a lots of selections to choose. Its really worth every penny & great atmosphere inside with super friendly staff. Especially, manager named “Sid” really really goes extra miles to make our time memorable over there. Thank to this gentleman. Seems he had got real passion to give amazing service. It was a really wonderful day to ended up here for our dinner. Will definitely come back in near future & Will recommend anyone to visit Derby Cosmo.

Cosmo is the best place to dine with either families or friends. During this pandemic they are very well organised as having temperature check, all PPE to be worn such as face mask and gloves. Cosmo restaurant has adhered to the Government legislation and also their constant food probing shows that they are doing their best to provide the best and delicious foods to their customers. Sid the manager welcome us all for a colleagues birthday. The service was excellent and the staff were very professional. Plenty of staff to help with hygiene and PPE My wife and I have been coming here for 8 years and we never had any bad experience. Our first dining out experience after COVID restrictions easing and wish we’d never bothered. £16.99 for a Saturday lunch time plus £3.25 for a soft drink. Which if it had been a good experience I wouldn’t have minded. The choice was limited, no tepenyaki while we were there, disappointing array of choices in all sections but the dessert selection was shocking and what there was on offer wasn’t particularly appealing and didn’t taste nice. I had a piece of sponge that was solid. I understand that COVID may have impacted on some aspects of dessert but even so it was poor at best. Mentioned it to the waitress that we weren’t happy with our experience, she said she would mention it. Someone else returned with the full bill to pay. Based on the fact that I was out with my family and didn’t want to spoil our day together I decided to leave it at that. Needless to say we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Food quality has improved from last time I’ve been Cosmo but there was lack of choice of foods especially the selection deserts. A Eastern European woman who works at work desk rudely told me, my partner and my brother to stick on visor or face mask or we are not allowed to eat but we was medically exempt and had exemption cards to proof (even though we shouldn’t have to explain ourselves). The price for the buffet was rip off £15.99 for lack choice and we couldn’t purchase refillable drink due to this covid BullCrap. I won’t be returning to Cosmo until the staff attitude has improved towards treating disabled people fairly and when food choices has improved.

All us ladies had a lovely time. Starters, mains and desserts were all great! Nice place for a catch up with the friends and family. Food for everyone. Thank you to the manager SID and that’s to the staff at derby Cosmo. (May 2021) See you all soon.

I totally understand the present situation has affected services vastly in the hospitality sector.However, on visiting Cosmo, the staff were polite and the Covid restrictions on movement and safety, though frustrating we have to accept, but what i do not accept is being charged full price for a vastly reduced menu, with curries consisting of a full dish of sauce and NO meat!!! the food arrives prepared, the limited choice due to ¬Covid regulations! is simply cost cutting, yet not reducing the price to reflect a total lack of value....the desert section offered a minute Pancetta, a dry sponge cake and a quarter of an orange, despite being open till 10pm, they were taking bookings up to that time and then announced they closed at 9pm!.......I once enjoyed visiting here, but I recommend to avoid during the Covid restrictions at least as they are simply using this as an excuse to offer very poor value for money!!

Great to see Cosmo back, even with a reduced menu and Covid restrictions in place, its a great place to have a meal with friends and family.The general manager is doing a great job to make people feel welcome, safe and have a great time!

came here on 30th october the day after they reopened after the lock down. was expecting change. but seems to have gone down rather than up. there is less choice now due to the covid situation. but i found the food cold and chewy. i am also disappointed with the drinks options. they now have a other litre jug of soft drink. but your paying for half of that being ice when i asked for no ice. not a good start. will give them another chance. it is early days

Wow what can I say about tonight, exceptional service from walking through the doors to leaving at the end of the night. You truly have done yourself and your colleagues proud! The amount of safety precautions in place is second to none, all staff wearing correct ppe, ensuring all customers are wearing face coverings, washing hands and wearing gloves when at the food stations, as well as ensuring that all customers abide to social distancing and following the correct procedures in place.Food as always was truly amazing, hot, fresh and delicious! Nothing was too much for the staff.Special thanks to the staff who shown us to our tables, to Thomas and Sam (jake) who helped us through the night and to the lovely manager who had a little conversation with us before we left.You've done a phenomenal job and I hope that new cosmos is here to stay, we wish you all the luck in the world with your reopening, we will certainly be back.Many thanks Melanie Stirland

I've visited Cosmo Derby with my daughters and we're delighted! Restaurant shows the highest cleaning standards being warm and cosy at the same time. Huge range of different meals , always warm and fresh. Service is professional and friendly plus manager greeting guest at the door makes You feel really special. That's our favourite place for family meal or evening with friends!

Was glad to hear Cosmo was opening again but a bit worried how it would work but I shouldn’t of been. We was met with very polite friendly staff who where happy to help with any concerns we had the system they have is very easy to work and the food is still amazing great experience from start to end. Really pleased there open again

I wasn't really expecting an all you can eat buffet due to the current circumstances, they handled it so well. The health and safety measures put in place made my visit a lot more comfortable. I'm very impressed with the food, the staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant

been to cosmo tonight with my uncle and his family. it now has new measurements in place for covid which are excellent and very safe. food was to a very high standard will be visiting again very shortly well done cosmo team.

I've been dying for an all you can eat buffet since lockdown. I am not disappointed. Food was great and service was amazing. Would definitely recommend it to people especially if like me you are on the hunt for a buffet.

Good food , Defo go again but recommend more choices of deserts . Toilets are lush and seating area is clean and comfay , all you can eat and please goo .

Firstly this is a very cheap buffet restaurant, not a 5 star hotel or Michelin Restaurant!! For the prices paid, variety and selection of dishes is great even at lunchtimes. I enjoyed my food and would not hesitate to revisit here or another Cosmo. It is what it is, great value!!

We were celebrating a birthday. It's a fairly relaxed and comfortable place. There is lots of choice for the food as you might expect. No way could you sample everything. Make sure you leave some room to squash in a few of the puddings. Finish with the ice cream machine and chocolate fountain.

I have not visited this restaurant for several years, now I remember why, expensive, cold, poorly cooked food and a limited selection. I will not be returning any day soon.

Excellent service and food was as it should be as well. A little bit bland in sum places and no madras in the curry section which is unfortunate but then its not to everyones taste.Been here about 8 times now and never had any issues with food though or the selection especially in the evening

Great food but I would advise booking early as a huge wait to get sat down. Well worth it as the food was stunning, especially the indian selection.

We went to Cosmo for our son and daughters 16th birthday lunch. Our family all really enjoyed the food and nothing was too much trouble. Service was good and food was hot and everywhere was very clean.

Very surprised how elegant restaurant is, great value for money and excellent choice of food. Staff couldn’t do enough for you and are very attentive. Family enjoyed a choice of Indian, pastas, pho and Chinese. Our little one was very scared due pepper pig and George mascots, the staff shooed them away. Very understanding and just over all an amazing experience! Recommend as there is something for everyone!

I came with a few friends of mine, some of whom are pretty picky eaters. It's great having such a selection so you've got a bit of something for everyone. The food is pretty good, can sometimes be a hit or miss with certain dishes but most the time it's good. The desert selection isn't great but the chocolate fountain was a group favourite. Would recommend for families with smaller, fussier children.

You don’t go to Cosmo for gastronomic wonderment. You go to Cosmo with a bunch of friends or work colleagues to chat, eat and have a good evening. For work colleagues turned up on a cold Wednesday evening about 7:15. We were shown straight to a booth. Drinks choice is fine - with a range of cocktails and bar drinks, as well as bottled world beers and a few on tap. Again if you are seeking some 30 year old red wine....walk on by. Then it’s off to help yourself buffet. The choice is vast. VAST. Wear your elastic waisted trousers. There is Italian, English, Japanese, Chinese, Indian and more. Across starters, mains and deserts. See photos of my selection. There are several stations where food can be cooked for you. All in for £15.95 per head plus drinks Good fun and such choice.

My family and I have come to this restaurant many, many times over the past couple of years. I'm sure we will continue to do so as my children grow up, and celebrate their birthday-meals here! The food-selection is as delicious as it is varied! And the service, is prompt.

Been here a few times and this last visit was awful! A lot of the food was cold and everything was really very salty!!! Such a shame the staff were great just the standard of food seems to have gone downhill dramatically.

We were visiting derby for the day, and having been to a world buffet before, we decided to call in before we left for home. So glad we did. All the food we tried was hot and tasty, there was a good selection and the staff were wonderful. It cost 2 of us £40 for a really good meal and 2 pints of lager, fully recommend!

Every time We go to COSMO i can not fault the staff they are all very friendly and polite, tables are always cleared away as soon as the plates are finished with.The food is fantastic and a great selection from around the world,I love the squid,salmon,steak,scallops that is cooked in front of you.The only thing my wife says the selection of desserts has gone down .Does not really affect me has I done eat them.

If you've done big buffet before and liked it then you're on a winner. It's a little more expensive than most but the food is a bit better. Watch what you spend on the drinks!

My partner and I have been infrequent visitors due to needing to travel. It’s a buffet restaurant that seems popular. Food has improved from our previous visits, the ambience was much better with the new decor. Staff friendly and vigilant to other diners, new to experience.

Great night with my team it’s great for large groups with different tastes because caters for alll. Mid week was steady and felt relaxed. Weekends are busy

So me and my freinds were undersided in where we were going as we had never been Cosmo before and the bad ratings and stuff but we thought that places are underrated and we would try it when we came threw the door we were greeted by a nice young women who took us to the table when we sat down a lady named beth came as soon as we sat and took our orders she was very nice as she made us feel welcome and explained to us where everything was so it was much easier to get around we tried the drinks I had ordered the passion fruit martini highly recommend the food was very nice especially the sushi and the teppanyaki area they had very underrated and will be going again

We booked here for our retired colleague annual get together superb variety of food and a fixed price eat all you can lunch. Could not fault anything.

Go here quite a lot brilliant service as usual polite,friendly, welcoming staff. food selection is brilliant especially the sushi lots to choose from lovely hot roast dinner yum they had a couple of new puddings chocolate sponge with chocolate over the top was amazing and so was the sticky toffee pudding the fruit on top of the cakes look and taste amazing too this is mine and my family’s favourite place to eat

I am a regular visitor at Cosmo Derby and since it first opened it doesn’t matter what site , I have always only been too happy to give a good opinion and a good review over the years.As the various choice of starters ,main course ,and puddings,have always been of a good selection.But as of 2019 the pudding /sweets were drastically reduced,so much so that all my favourites were taken off except for the chocolate eclairs,Yes a lot of fruit and some plainer cakes have taken their place ,but that isn’t what we all want is it !..Cut backs are not necessary to this extreme are they? I would prefer the return of the cream cakes, I would rather pay more for the choices than be disappointed,but that is just my opinion. The staff are friendly and there is plenty of seating .

Disappointing trip to Cosmos, plenty of food but the majority of what I had was cold and over cooked. I was really looking forward to it after trying the nottingham one, which was superb. I won’t go back. Staff weren’t particularly interested, food bland- the ice cream had melted, waste of time & money.

We visited on Saturday afternoon 11/01/20 as a family of 5. After waiting a few minutes we asked a member of staff if anyone was available to show us a table. The manager sent over a waiter called Chris. Chris was extremely polite, greeted us individually and sat us down promptly before making sure we knew where everything was. We had our drinks order taken by a waitress, no smile, no hello. It just seemed like all the members of staff were miserable. The food was good, massive selection, my children thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate fountain! Very clean restaurant. It wasn't the best service I've ever received, also not the worst. Massive thank you to Chris though, as he constantly made sure we were ok and we weren't even his table. Our waiter asked us if we would like his name on our receipt before writing it anyway, and asked us to write a review on here. I am unsure as to why, as he only came over once, I asked him if we could have our plates cleared and he responded "I will do that in a bit" lol... Overall it was enjoyable.

Usually I love Cosmo but this trip was an acception. Every bit of food I tried was bland and cold, even an hour before closing lunch they were cleaning everything away and closing half of the food stalls. The cutlery was filthy and half of their plates were wet. One of the waitresses went to take my food away whilst I was still eating, were impolite and impatient and didn't give me a chance to sit down and look at the drinks menu before they were asking me what I wanted. Most of western the food they make is extremely underwhelming and flavourless. Overall not a positive experience and hopefully they do things to improve. The price is ridiculous for what you get and unless they change up their menu a little bit and cut a few bad items out then it might not stay in business.

The family decided to go out New Years Day for a very late lunch as we have used this restaurant many times before we know how they work. I have a serious allergy to fish and fish products. Upon our arrival the supvisor Mia came to us and asked if I wanted anything from the live cooking stations and the ramen noodle bar. She organised for my items to be cooked on a different grill and the noodles to be made with different water which she then brought the cooked dishes to our table. Service was not the best tonight as they was very slow at clearing empty plates but this was a one off for which they did apologise for.

Have now visited 3 Cosmo restaurants - Sheffield, Nottingham & today Derby. Derby comes in 3rd place after my visit today and in comparison to the others. It was very busy and having now given the world buffet style places a good try it’s been a case of I’ve looked forward to it and came away disappointed. I can’t recommend as relaxing and the case today was there were a few “empty spaces” in food abailable It’s expensive (drinks especially) you’re packed in tight with others. Turkey was only meat on offer & bread pudding only hot dessert which I don’t like. Didn’t see any chips but there was pizza and you’ll probably be happy with the Chinese/Indian offerings. Not for me - I like eating out to be relaxing. You feel on edge & I believe there’s a time limit. I can think of better places

Came in towards the lunch closing times and found restocking isn't a thing so most foods were unavailable . Great to avoid food waste, terrible if you're a customer paying full price of a buffet only to have a limited selection and 2 desserts to choose from, the ones no one wanted during lunch rush hour.

Always had an enjoyment meal whilst shopping in the past, but this time it was totally appalling. Everything was cold lots of sections of the buffet closed down.. will never be going again, £55 for the 3 of us could have eaten better at McDonald’s.🤬

Enjoy the variety of food. Service needs a little improvement but still good. Well worth the price and the kids love the variety. Will be back for a January birthday. Looking forward to it already!!

Right... I won't lie as a restaurant for any sort of occasion I would choose another. However if you have a family with a variety of tastes, wants and appatites this is a cheap an cheerful place to go. Easy access easy pickings for a random shout at an out of house meal.

Ive been to a few Cosmo resaurants but this is the best Ive visited. Very pleasent staff and a fantastic choice of foods from around the world. There is something for everyone and it was nicely displayed and hot.

So have been before and decided we would try with a group of friends we had a lovely young lad Jake explain everything to our group as some hadn’t been before he was very polite and helpful. The drinks arrived so we made our way to the buffet we were very pleased with our choice the food was lovely especially the Christmas menu there was plenty to choose from and our friends really enjoyed the night can’t wait to visit again.

Visited here with friends and the food was hot and of great quality, I thought the Indian selection was abit weak in options but all the other departments were superb and very enjoyable. I think the drinks are rather pricey

If your a vegatarian I dont think you get your moneys worth to be honest, I think its fine for a group of children for a birthday treat and a nice experience.

Good visit tonight and the waiter, Piotr, was very polite and knowledgeable about what was on offer. His customer service was brilliant even though the restaurant was busy. Nothing was too much and regularly came back to our table to check everything was okay. Piotr added to the experience and for me is a reason I will visit again.

Firstly it was heaving. With half price /free offerings for kids, there were loads of young children running around. The ladies toilet felt like I was in a primary school. Putting that aside, it was generally what you'd expect from a mass produced, canteena style, all you can eat buffet. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. The serving staff on point, friendly and very attentive. We were given a time limit of 1hr 15 mins to have your meal. For 2 adults that was ok. For families feeding 2 plus young children, it looked rushed. The food was plentiful and tasty however, as with all these type of hot buffet style places, my first plate of food was luke warm at best and putting it on a cold plate meant I left half as it became stone cold. My second plateful was alot hotter. I obviously timed it right. So for the price and selection on offer, it was good value. Unfortunately during the evening I began to have tummy ache, became very warm and felt a little sick. It passed but when I got up in the morning I had violent diarrhoea for an hour. As the buffet was the only thing I'd eaten, sadly I will have to put it down to that. My friend however has been fine. In summing up, if you love a buffet it's a good place to go. For me, I'll pass.

I have been to other COSMO restaurants in the past, not this one before but stayed in Derby for night and thought ideal, I will eat there. Oh, was I disappointed ....

Good selection of food but some areas of food were cold as they have been standing there but the fish and stir fry were amazing.

Came to Cosmo and beth was our waitress. She was really kind and friendly and very talkative. She made us feel so welcome, food was also great.

13th birthday party 20 diners when booking we asked not to be seated in the back area because last time we had a meal at Cosmo it was really cold in that area we were assured this would not happen We arrived with the Cake and Balloons to put on the table and was taken to the back area again we explained we didn’t want to sit there and was told No No you won’t be cold we’ve had new heating put in we sat down for our meal the radiators not on really cold we ate our meal with our coats on food lukewarm will not be returning waste of money

I went to derby restaurant today took my mum out for a meal, I was absolutely disgusted with the food and service, everything was stone cold or burnt was not worth the amount we paid for at all, staff didn’t help in the slightest, been a few times this month and it’s always luke warm food but was it was stone cold eggs were hard chicken was all cremated. Will not be returning again waist of money.

After walking around Intu in Derby we decided to go to Cosmo at a cost of £16 per person on a Sunday.As it was 14:45 it wasnt busy there, however we were still stood when we arrived for 5 min whilst the concierge took a phone booking, I wouldnt mind this if there was some kind of acknowledgement that we were stood there but this was non existent! People even came in behind us and walked straight through into the restaurant and past us. This behaviour from the "face" of the restaurant ie the first person you see is unacceptable customer service! After the lady in question had finished the phone booking and gathered herself, finally we were asked if we would like a table for 4, the previous ignorance had left a sour taste on my mouth, we left without sitting and visited TGI fridays....... I'm so glad we did!

How come you have restaurants birthday celebration a week before and up to a week after yet Derby its day before, on or day after I feel this is totally wrong.

We celebrated my daughters birthday at Cosmo at an early evening sitting. The appeal was that Cosmo caters for varying tastes in food, and allowed adults and children to sample dishes that they would not have otherwise tasted. There were 9 of us. The service was very attentive, staff quickly taking away plates we had finished with, leaving us free to try something new. All the dishes we had and sampled were good, with nothing disappointing. If you are looking for a conventional restaurant dining experience then this may not be for you, but if you are looking for variety of good food and a bit of fun, this is a good venue.

Visited on a sunday afternoon. Seated straight away and staff friendly and helpful. Food offers plenty of choice in the chinese and Japanese sections, the Indian section could be better. Also some great "english" bits for the less adventurous . Refillable soft drinks and very friendly for kids. Staff are helpful throughout and attentive to clear empty plates

On the 28th of September we attended for my partners birthday meal. There were 20 friends and family with us and we looked forward to enjoying our evening. We booked our table online for 19:15. We got there just after 7 to be told we are late so we will only get 45 minutes at our table. I explained that we are not late and I wanted to speak to someone about this. The manager came over who was extremely rude and looked as if his aim was to annoy us all. I was told i was not telling the truth and wanted proof. I told him i even phoned this morning to check our reservation and i was told our reservation was fine. He insisted on proof and told me the website doesn’t lie and it wouldn’t allow us to do this. I got the confirmation email up and showed him the 19:15 booking and said we would not be leaving our table at the time he told us. I did not get an apology and he was so rude, calling me a liar. Maybe cosmo should sort their website out and train staff on customer service. This made myself and the rest of our party pretty annoyed and overshadowed the meal from all the mess about.

Terrible food. Cold, congealed and tasteless. And spotted chef picking food out of bowls with his hands and eating it!

Amazing choice of good food, global buffet, all cuisines imaginable, which was replenished regularly, very busy restaurant , lots of families.
