This was my first time here with colleagues from work, We did book in advance, (I would advise you do this). Easy to get to from Waverley, nice decor, Plenty of food choices, good selection of cocktails, Would go back.

Nice busy place, plenty of food options and stuff refilled all the time just might have to wait a little bit. Only let down was the dessert section, very small, cakes were quite bland, and could do with a ice cream bar or something and a lot more dessert choices.

My husband and I went here today as we were treating ourselves on our wedding anniversary. The food was as varied as you would expect from a World Buffet how ever food quality was exceptional. The service was incredible, people friendly and helpful. I have never seen used buffet plate removed so quickly !! As a wheelchair user Cosmos was completely accessable. The table is basically yours for 90 minutes but we were there (Thurs 24th October) for 2 hours. The staff appeared to appreciate that we needed a bit of extra time inorder that i could choose my items and then my husband would make plates up for me and then get his own. We had a lovely time and would heartily recommend Cosmos to any one. I honestly can't wait for our return visit !

Went here with my mum before a show at the theatre next door. Seated really quickly and our server specially cleared a table to give ease of access for my disabled mum which was appreciated. Food selection was great but definitely lacking in vegetarian options - everything seemed to be chicken based. Fresh meat grill was all shared between red and white meat and fish so not even suitable for pescatarians. The vegetarian food I did have was fine although not very hot. Biggest issue was the amount of kids running around, helping themselves and mixing serving spoons and clearly taking more than they would eat. Parental supervision was absolutely non existent.

Can't complain about any of the above . And as a regular to cosmo can say you have maintained the standard you set since reopening Well done

Multi spreadz veg and non veg dishes. Indian ,Asian, local cuisine with tasty deserts. All you can eat buffet at £24.00 is worth for their service, ambience and tasty food.

Disappointed after visiting tonight for family celebration. Definitely gone down hill compared to previous visits. Loads of empty stations, shredded duck, lamb curry, etc. Cheap low quality ingredients, fatty meat, every other pan full of frozen deep fried nuggets, chips or pizza. Desserts all tasted the same like sugar and PVA glue. £21 each isn't good value. Definitely quantity over quality. I'd rather pay for one nice plate of food than 3 bad ones. Used to be better quality and somewhat of a novelty but won't be back.

It was a busy Saturday evening but the service was great and the food was very good, freshly cooked and plentiful with a great choice of world foods. The barman was very understanding and insightful when my son and husband had to leave very early into the meal and we were appreciative. The atmosphere was as you would expect for a thriving, large dining hall. The staff were very attentive. It may be overwhelming for for anyone with additional sensitivities or requiring a more subdued dining experience but lends itself very well to offering something for everyone's taste.

The food itself is really a hit or miss; some food is excellent, some is really quite bad and stale. Nevertheless, the dessert bar is great and overall, the value for money here is hard to beat!

I don't think Cosmo can be beaten for quality or value for money. No one in our party has ever been disappointed with anything.

Lot's of choices. Some great, others bland. Naan bread was dried out to cracker status under the heat lamps. Brisket was really good, as was the Mongolian station.

Me and my family recently dined at the renewed Cosmo Buffet Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The variety of food options was impressive, with a wide range of cuisines to choose from including Asian, Mediterranean, traditional Scottish and English dishes. All the starters especially seafood ones were just amazing. Each station was well-stocked, and the food was fresh and flavorful. The thought of having multiple drinks stations at different corners makes the new layout much more nicer. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that tables were cleared promptly. Coming to the dessert section, it’s my favourite part : it was particularly a highlight, with an array of sweets that catered to every taste. The chocolate fountain- I love love love it! Overall, Cosmo Buffet offers excellent value for money, and I will definitely be returning for another round of culinary exploration!

told us there was a strict time limit which is unlike other buffet places I've been in. Struggled to relax and enjoy the food otherwise the food tasted good.

This used to be excellent when it first opened, but sadly, it has went down hill dramatically..!! Food cold as it has been lying for ages, tables filthy and toilets need a deep clean.. !!

Cosmos Is a lovely buffet where they serve a variety of food from all over the world where it is cooked fresh and flavourful. The employees are kind and helpful and the plates are very hygienic. If I could I would give this place 6 stars.

Overall an alright experience, very enjoyable time with mates there but the food could've been a bit better personally, the egg fried rice lacked seasoning, and the noodles were dry to the point of them being crunchy, other foods were good though, wish it'd be slightly better in terms of food but had a good time anyway.

Ate in, with 2 adults and 2 children. There were barely any vegetables or roast dinner options. Within the curry the Chicken tasted like the low grade frozen chicken you get where it has been pumped with gelatine. Wasn’t nice.

The main entrance door needs more attention. Imagine that I entered there, there was no sign of accounting or knowing who goes in. However, Foods okay, service as customer service okay, hygiene okay.

First time visiting this location and the second time in a Cosmo. This restaurant was nicely decorated and laid out and was clean and tidy. The food was tasty, fresh, and well stocked/restocked. The miso soup was some of the best I've had! Prices were really reasonable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Ok overall. Staff pleasant and some of the food was quite good for this sort of place. What was ridiculous was that I asked for a jug of water and was told "we don't do that if you're on your own." Instead, I was given a tiny plastic tumbler better suited to a toddler than anyone else and had to go and stand at the water machine and have a drink and fill it up repeatedly. They clearly had bigger glasses and jugs so I don't see what inconvenience it is to them to provide them if asked. Sounds like a poorly thought out policy and didn't make me feel great to see others next to me getting treated differently. I had to ask how to pay at the end because no-one told me and I was quite surprised to see a service charge added in a restaurant where the basic premise is that there is no service.

Just been after the recent refurbishment. We have gone for the last 10 years, but I feel that there may be now too many places for diners as several times we had to wait on the hot plates being restocked. We also gad to wait on new plates at times. This was dinner, and during the Festival so was very busy. It was very good value for money, however.

I absolutely did not want to do this, but after sending 2 emails to this place, with no response, I feel i have no choice. My name is lauren, I had a table book with you guys (01/08/2024), I think our table number was 121 and it was booked under the name Mcnamee at 4.30pm. This is the first time I have been in since the reopening, previously this was my favourite place to eat. Whilst the place looks fantastic, the food was not. I had to flag a member of staff to show them the chicken in the korma was uncooked. It was still pink in the middle for most pieces. The manager came and took the tray of korma away to be 'cooked more' before offering a 15% discount. Unfortunately for me I had already eaten a few pieces before noticing. Between an hour or two I became unwell. I barely made it back to my house before experiencing very very unpleasant symptoms of food poisoning. I do not like to complain, It's not in my nature to do so, however I have paid for food that has caused vomiting and diarrhea. I am sad to say I will not be back to your restaurant. I do not leave reviews, however the fact i have tried contacting, with no response is appauling considering you guys made me incredibly unwell. I do wish for my funds to be refunded.

Back in the day this use to be amazing, but I went last night and it’s not what it use to be. Food was very bland, food wasn’t getting topped up quick enough, the whole night there was no duck pancakes, the chicken gyoza legit tasted like canned chicken balls (100% not fresh). Pretty bummed to be fair.. paying over £100 when I can get something else better and cheaper.

Excellent range of food. What some dishes lack in quality is compensated for by the impressive variety and quantity. There were dishes that I didn't like and didn't finish; always a shame as I hate to waste food. But the many tasty dishes easily made up for it. My main issue was just how busy it was (even on a weekday evening). It was so loud that my partner and I couldn't hear each other whilst sitting face-to-face. Obviously this is a fantastic restaurant for families, but that means it is very loud with children. As the cooking is done in front of customers, the sound of extractor fans and cooking equipment is significant too. Unfortunately because of this, I wouldn't be in a rush to go back. I'd recommend you ask for a table that's further away from the buffet in order to have some peace and quiet for your dining.

Went for a family meal this evening, how disapointing, the food was cold, nothing was being replenished quickly at all. Pancakes for the duck were hard and snapped when handled. This was at 5pm so you would think the food would be fresh but it was so far from fresh it was quite unbelievable. We have been lots of times and it used to be good, definately not good now. When raising issues the manager said we dont get complaints. The bad food and attitude of the management determined that we will never return

As a single father of 3, taking my kids (13-13-11) out to eat is a costly business. Going to KFC is always around £40. So to take the kids to a proper sit down environment and the total bill coming to £73 is amazing! The service was mostly great and the food was mostly good. For the money I can't really fault it. We went at 5.30 on a Sunday, so as you can imagine it was busy but that didn't spoil the experience at all. The kids loved it and I loved the price. You can just turn up or book ahead and it's situated right next to the Edinburgh Playhouse so getting there is easy too.

Delicious meal, professional service, very nice place, I highly recommend it. The only thing I can complain about is the rather low level of cleanliness in the toilets.

The food was pretty tasteless. Alot of the food was over cooked and dry. Theirs was lot of empty trays for food that took ages to be filled. The whole time we were here their was never any fresh chips.

The place looks amazing on the inside so big congrats to them the refurbishment was so worth it! new food items were wonderful along with our server, Mendie giving the most and being everything a waitress should be, very happy !

On 14th July 2024, my wife and I visited newly opened this restaurant. All staffs were very good and all cuisines were very good. We enjoyed very much. Our stomach were really full! I think the price was so reasonable and the drink prices too! Many different cuisines were prepared. We couldn’t eat all today. So, we are very much looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you all!

I went there a year ago and it was great! There is a male manager with a super good service attitude! Help me solve my problem with a smile! Very satisfied! I went there again in early May this year and encountered a problem: a fat female manager with a very bad service attitude! But without a smile, it's like he owes her money! If there was a manager like this, I wouldn't mind eating anywhere!

Went there because of the good reviews but I have to say I was a bit disappointed, there is plenty of choice but I thought a lot of the food tasted bland, people on here mention the squid and scallops but there were none when I visited just prawns. Chocolate fountain is good but lots of people in close contact around it, since COVID makes it feel less appetizing.

Cosmos was nice but was just like every other all you can eat, good selection of food but there was nothing that I can say "oh wow that was amazing" too. Ice cream machine was like soup which was most upsetting! I live for my puddings!

We were skeptical of a buffet, but after seeing the rating from all the positive reviews, we decided to check it out. The atmosphere is nice, the service is excellent, and the food is great. Try the Indian food for sure and don’t forget about the chocolate fountain. Pro tip: dip the waffle pieces in the chocolate fountain.

Cosmo Edinburgh, a great little place serving Asian, Indian, British foods, eat as much as you want in a 90 minutes timeframe for £20 the drinks are extra, but they do a refill (bottomless) on soft drinks for £3.90. the staff are helpful and remove your plates regularly so you can get 2nds, 3rds 4th etc. a mass of different foods.

"All you can eat" formula but with two variables: - cuisine from various parts of the world - you can take everything directly from the buffet Everything inviting, everything delicious and everything worth tasting.. The only real problem is being able to stop (Drinks separately)

Amazing foods from different countries

Food was amazing and staff very friendly. I would recommend this establishment.

I mean, if you are looking for a restaurant that serves food, this is your place, but that is about the only real positive thing to say, that there is food. If you are looking for a buffet that offers good, flavorful, and properly cooked food, go elsewhere. Everything was bland, like the proper flavor was a few feet over and blown over by a fan, much akin to a Fresca. Staff were okay but there was very little communication between them leading to us having to pull up an email to prove we had a reservation after it being confirmed by the front counter 2 minutes prior.

An unusual experience, I have rarely seen so many dishes on offer in an all-you-can-eat buffet. Japanese, Korean, Thai, English, Indian and so on… we don’t taste a tenth of it! We are not sure about the great cuisine that will leave a lasting memory but the price for Scotland is more than affordable so the experience is super interesting! One shocking point on the other hand: the waste of food... people leave half-filled plates behind which end up in the trash. It doesn't seem to me that I have had an all-you-can-eat buffet anywhere else (outside the UK) where waste was not punished with an additional financial cost (a few euros but still!). It would be nice to put something like this in place... because it's crazy to see it. You can stay there for a maximum of 90 minutes, it's in full swing so for a calm and relaxed atmosphere at the restaurant... move on!

Really disappointing experience. Used to be a great place but today was terrible. The place was filthy. Food all over the floor, all over the tables, all over the serving area (we came in 50 mins after opening so not like it had been hours). Very little food. The whole time atleast 50% of it was empty and needing replenished. Hardly a single bit of meat in anything. The ‘seafood’ section was an ice bath with plastic fish in it with a couple of edible prawns. The salad bar was filthy and food dropped everywhere all mixed in together. Fridges and freezers not working so ice cream like milk. Cakes warm and melted. Were told as soon as we sat down we had max 1 hour (we had waited outside for 50 minutes for our table) to eat and leave. Tried to speak to the staff with absolutely no resolution. £60 for 3 plates of stale cold food is a disgrace. The garlic bread, pizza, burgers and Sunday roast were anaemic looking. Spring rolls etc rock hard and clearly cheap nasty frozen food. Seriously went down hill would 100% avoid at all costs

Unfortunately I have to change my review from five stars to three. So after eating there again after a long time, I have to say that it wasn't as clean anymore and the quality of the food had also deteriorated. Staff should ensure that the buffet stays clean. It's a shame, I used to enjoy eating at Cosmo. Now it is no longer my restaurant of choice.

Very disorganised, and the food range is extremely limited for a Saturday afternoon. Most of the food was quite lukewarm and the sauces had started to separate with oil sitting on the top of the Chinese curry sauce, and korma sauce splitting. The only saving grace was the tepanaki grill where you could request freshly cooked prawns, scallops and salmon. The Glasgow Silverburn branch is much better in terms of food range, freshness, organisation, and cleanliness. The floor was quite slippery to the point that my daughter's chair slipped from underneath her and she ended up on the floor. Thankfully she was unhurt. Overall, very disappointed with my visit to Cosmo Edinburgh, I'll stick to the West Coast venues in future.
