Food was delicious, staff very attentive and helpful. We went in early on a Thursday evening so it was fairly quiet.

Had a buffet dinner, not a lot of variety of food but they took great care of taste and hygiene over there. The food was delicious 😋

A place that I especially recommend when going out with a large group. Everyone will find something for themselves here. Large space and many tables, which makes it quite noisy. But everyone will find something delicious for themselves and will definitely leave satisfied

I had a dinner here yesterday. We are tourists and this is the first time we eat in the buffet restaurant in Edinburgh. Most of things were strange to us and there was a very friendly staff called Astou helped us, she explained everything very clearly. We’re very happy with her attitude and enthusiasm. The food is very nice.

This restaurant is great for all ages of people, they cater for many different tastes including chicken nuggets & pizza for the kids.

First of all the space is incredibly cramped you literally get headaches when you get inside.Food was not worth for the price and more importantly it’s not tasty , no much of choice, I expected more than that when you look from outside, anyway waste of money from my point view never again, you can get good takeout alone from a local Chinese restaurant for the same price and it’s peaceful

A large selection of different dishes of good quality. If you have a small child, you will be offered a high chair and will pay a small service fee for children up to 5, not the full price. However, for me personally the price was a bit high for what was ultimately offered; I had hoped for more, especially with the sushi.

I recently enjoyed a top-notch meal here and left feeling really satisfied! The renovations look great, and the food was absolutely delicious, with the lamb and cumin and the Beijing pork ribs really standing out for me. Service was spot on, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. Just a small note on those wobbly tables—if you could sort that out, it’d be perfect! Overall, I can't wait to return!

A pleasure to have dined there. It is located right next to our hotel and we went out of curiosity... the service is efficient, friendly and wow, the food is so good! Quality - price, really good; I was really surprised. It is super quiet in the last hours of service. Recommended 100%

Selection of food Amazing, always fresh and tastes Fabulous, great atmosphere everyone having a good time. Beautiful decor and much more spacious than it used to be. Only grievance is you do wait a while for drinks/glasses to be brought and we got kicked off our table, understandable that they are busy but a bit rude

We had a lovely lunch here recently! The food was absolutely top-notch, especially the Thai Green Curry Chicken and Eton Mess; I can’t praise them enough! The atmosphere was nice, and the service was spot on—everyone was so friendly. Absolutely no complaints and wouldn’t change a thing; it’s always a treat coming here! I’ll definitely be back more often!

Disappointing if you don't eat seafood and mushrooms, as it's not a lot of options for people like me who don't eat fish ND mushrooms, desserts wasn't that good either, but it's only my opinion

Love Edinburgh Cosmo restaurant

The range of food from Chinese ,Indian, and Japanese was very good ,it was our first time eating sushi here.There was a chef who cooked on the grill in front of you, giving you a pleasant experience. The place was near a cinema place and a shopping centre giving you other things to do after you eat.The only bad thing is that you have to pre booked and you have arrive exactly at the time you booked for .We arrived at about 6:30 and they couldn't bring us in thus we had to wait out in the cold outside .But the whole entire experience was very good ,including the food.

Really nice buffet restaurant. It is BIG, which also means busyness and there are several things that don't get filled up. The dessert buffet was somewhat empty when we got there. The food was otherwise good and varied.

I recently visited and had a great evening overall! The food was really good—especially the stir-fried noodles and burger, which were both a fantastic value. The atmosphere was nice, but the service could use a little improvement, particularly with seating wait times, especially when there were empty tables. I'd love to see some African and spicy dishes added to the menu to mix things up. All in all, I had a lovely time and I'll definitely be back!

Rude staff, low quality food, lie about the timing and try to push you out after a short time despite half the tables being empty.

Fantastic selection of food from around the world , good choice of drinks/ soft drinks and good selection of deserts. Child friendly menu and good seating areas all wheelchair accessible with nearby parking. Great for a special night out with the cinema and theatre within one minute walk from the restaurant. Accessible by tram, bus or taxi.

Great food and good atmosphere.

My first time. I'm overwhelmed with the variety of cuisine. Where do you start? It's impossible to describe the flavours of Indian or Asian foods. Prawns cooked from fresh on griddle by wonderful Filipino chef , Edinburgh eatery, and so on. The curry was perfect. As if I was in a Curry House, it's authentic alright. As for value.... can't go wrong really, I'll never go to the Chinese takeaway again. For the money spent (21£) it's all you can eat, which is true! Where do you start. And where do you finish!

Always a pleasure to visit COSMO. Friendly staff, good food options, tidy and comfortable areas. Not sure about the restroom but the last time, it wasn’t functioning. Hopefully, it has been repaired.

Better to book ahead as this place fils up fast

I had an absolutely brilliant dining experience recently! The food was outstanding—everything from the lamb and cumin to the samosas hit the mark. The atmosphere was lively, and the service was top-notch, making the whole night feel special. I’d love to see idli and dosa on the menu, but honestly, every dish I tried was just perfect. Can't wait to come back in a couple of months!

Visited Edinburgh Cosmo today if there was a zero rating I would give it that compared to Glasgow this place is an absolute joke of a place with hardly anything to choose from staff didn't care and the food that was there was bland,cold and very disappointing needless to say we definitely won't be back

The quality has dropped a lot. I came for the first time a few years ago and the food was fantastic. Now, after returning, they have done a renovation, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. I doubt I will return

Quality of food was average. A lot of smoke from grill. Beef old and chewy. Not enough food. Pretty small space on the table. They don't come to pick up your dishes pretty often. Never again.

Haven't finish order the teppanyaki cook rudely began to repeat, one portion per person, I'm just representatively ordering 3 portion for 3 people (including kids) and we are queuing together there (he seems didn't care). I've been to Cosmo more than 10 times and knowing the rule well, the first time the guy ruined our lunch. During waiting the cooking, another guy came to order 2 portions and he took it, but he kept repeating the rule to us even didn't wait for us finishing the reasonable order, is it racist? 26.01.2025.

We had a very long wait to even enter the building (about 45min in -1), then another 20-25min along their corridor, but we had driven a long way as we feel the food is worth it. The mains are delicious, and there is a large choice of sweets. In our party there were 2 adults, a teenager, a tween, a 5-year-old and a toddler and everyone was happy and full.

Absolutely wonderful place to have an all you can eat buffet. Perfect place for a group outing. Manager Tim welcomed us on the day and he explained to us perfectly how to have a great experience. Great time. A must visit if you are in town.

Vegetarian options aren't great and hardly any vegan options sadly.

Not overly impressed with the quality of food at Cosmo. A lot of the food was cold, or lacking taste. The layout of the restaurant was nice and there is a wide selection of food but generally not worth the money you're charged.

they ruined my birthday, their website said i can go free ON friday and saturdays and them when i got their they paid me pay double because i was paying for my friend and then i had to pay for myself as well even THO the website said you can go for free i ended up paying £50 instead of £23 dont waste your money on cosmos they ruined mu whole birthday

Went today. Was no worth the money. Food was cold and no much ready to eat. Never again.

Great place to eat. Was very busy when we visited so we had a wait for our drinks. Food was delicious.

No longer the same, new owners and changed the place. Hardly world food, more Asian food on offer. No pastas, lasagne, spaghetti etc...just very Chinese style foods. Hard potato's, no roast meats etc. Dessert was dismal, marshmallows cut in half. £4 for a bottomless drink, £19 for wine. Came away disappointed and hungry. Definitely won't be back.

Went here and whole family down with bad food poisoning for 3-4 days it really wasnt pleasant. Phoned them and they were not one bit interested in our complaints so just goes to show what a bunch of crooks they are. Plates and cutlery is not the cleanest. Never again will we set foot in this establishment. We have contacted Edinburgh Council so lets hope they get there act together and get it cleaned up... STAY CLEAR YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Disappointed to say the least. Myself and my girlfriend went on Friday night for our anniversary and had the worst experience! On arrival there were at least 40 people all standing hopelessly waiting to be seated. (All coincidentally with bookings at the same time) Once a member of staff finally appeared they would only take one booking at a time which sparked outrage amongst the crowd. One guest began shouting and swearing to which there was no apologies from the staff for the uncomfortable atmosphere there after. The food what little there was wasn’t very pleasant, between being cold, unappetising textures or the fact the trays where empty it was dismal to say the least. Staff stood around on their phones seeming genuinely uninterested. Goes without saying we left without paying 15 minutes after being seated and proceeded to then be sick in the public restroom across at St.James Quarter. Won’t be back.

Majority of the food is really good, but there should be rules for not letting kids pick there foods unattended. It's disgusting seeing children touch food with there hands that they just leave for someone else to eat. Apart from that it's a great buffet.

Very busy and many of the buffet dishes empty so much restricted choice. Had to ask twice for our empty glasses for bottomless drinks. Staff looked stressed and unhappy. First time back for a while but think it will be my last visit unfortunately.

Saturday ( probably the busiest day) absolute chalka block( advice- book first) haven't been in years, different refurb, plenty of staff( some foods, made to order) really need something to entertain kids( table up from me decided to finish their food and put their plates on someone else's table- occupied - not empty) some people just shouldn't be let out in public( the occupied table- different ethnicity) could have been ww3 ( another family table decided to rearrange the tables to suit, the waitress was well confused - this is why my heed is banging during social events- maybe a few more years before my next visit

Absolutely rubbish 😂 the food was always cold and dry. Even after they put the pizza out it was rubbery and tasteless. The only bareable thing was the chicken curry when it was served fresh. But pretty bad for an “all you can eat” to only have one good food…the atmosphere is also really bad, don’t know if it’s just the Edinburgh cosmos but people were so pushy, didn’t wait in ques and didn’t care if they stood on you to get what they wanted. The chefs were nice when I asked for some chicken to be grilled but it was cold again so it must’ve been already cooked chicken and then on a warm grill 😅 Came for my mams 60th birthday while on trip to Edinburgh and they even managed to make her favourite: fish fingers, tasteless and dry haha I thought maybe the waffles and chocolate fountain are gonna save the night but the waffles were dry and I could knock it on the table they were that hard 😅. £100+ for 4 people absolute rip off, sticking to W2 buffet in Middlesbrough, absolutely gorgeous there and the food is always hot and super tasty.

We booked for a Friday evening, and were seated promptly (although we had to ask to move tables because I made an accessibility request that got missed, but they were quick to sort out a different table for us with no hassle). Place was very busy but most of the food items were kept regularly stocked up. Everything was tasty and hot. Bottomless drinks are always a huge bonus with a nice selection of options. Cocktails were reasonably priced and tasted nice and strong. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. Staff were quick at clearing tables and everything was clean considering how busy they were. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

The food was of a good standard across all the options available. The staff were diligent in keeping the amounts of each one stocked up. Obviously, it is a great selection of cuisines given that it is a world buffet. The staff were friendly and helpful although a number of the staff behind the food counter didn't speak English as a first language which can make specific or detailed requests slightly harder to get across. However, this in no way impacted their willingness to help or the overall experience.

Cosmo is always our go to when in the capital for the day as theres something for everyone. We visited today after being at a show and it was such a farce from start to finish. £120 wasted really disappointing.

Awful. Hardly any food in the serving dishes . The whole area was dirty including the serving utensils. My husband was told there was a 10 minute wait if he wanted any rice. We won't be back.

Went for a nice meal with my friend. The salt and chilli chicken was pink on the inside, the chips were extremely stale and the chow main was also extremely stale and crunchy! 0/10 would not recommend coming here! My friend also went to pick up a “clean” plate to get another type of food and there was mushy chicken on the bottom of it. the only thing edible was the icecream! After our complaints we were only offered a 25% discount.

Hi had better visit 1st time I was there I totally get that the place is busy for Xmas and it was a Saturday The staff could of filled the food servers quicker than they did I had to go up twice to get certain food and it was just empty and some of the food in other parts were either cold or undercooked Come on cosmos don't be like Aberdeen

Honestly, one of the best buffet restaurants in Edinburgh that you can find. Definitely give them a go if you’re in Edinburgh!

I used to come here with my friends years ago. I went recently, but the food wasn't nice; I was really disappointed.

Having been a few times, but not for a while, it was a disappointing return visit. While there were some ok dishes, most were not that great to be honest. Little bland, too cold or sitting too long which meant crusting up. Perhaps 4pm on a Friday is not the best time, but overall underwhelmed vs previous visits. It'll be a while before I return again, if ever.

Delicious for a special treat during tge holiday season. You get to try a little of everything and you will not regret! The indian dishes and the hot raven noddles are my favourite

How far the mighty have fallen… This used to be one of my favourite spots to go for dinner with my friends. I’ve come back after a while, this time with my spouse, and I’m sad to say it’s gotten much worse. Food: The most important part and sadly a big disappointment . Teppenyaki station no longer cooks with sauces and has smaller selection. The squid is now flavourless, disgusting calamari rings rather than the old proper squid they had back in the old days. Not much of a selection anymore. Spouse was disappointed too. Even the fruit tasted fake this time round somehow! Pizza is still good at least. Service: Not bad but for some reason halfway through, as we went to get more food, they took away our dishes and then also our drinks and even my spouses gloves! I had to passionately fight to locate them and get them back - why am I having to do this!? Also, several food items were finished and the refills were very slow to come. Shame. Won’t be coming back.

Service was very quick & efficient but not necessarily the most friendliest. Food was nice and there was a lot to choose from although my wife struggled to reach the dish the food is held in. I loved the noodle bar. The freshly cooked steak was on the tough side. Aside from that we were happy. All the guests seemed to be crammed into one corner of the restaurant which made it very very warm which made the atmosphere a little uncomfortable.

Service was very nice and fast: most trays were filled. Bbq/grill was good. Chinese was too oily, but average for buffet. Indian mediocre, Naan bread very bad. Japanese was the worst I ever had (rice too dry, canned tuna?!). So many Asian options but no plain white rice... Dessert also underwhelming (canned fruits and supermarket quality cakes). Wouldn't recommend if you love good food

I went during the dinner service . My experience overall wasn't that great the selection is average there is a limit to the buffet so with that it's false advertising the staff treated me unfair due to being bigger than the average person and not able to fit in one of there low tables asked for a higher table to be moaned at then to be told if we give you another table you only have an hour to eat and be out now bearing in mind I am not overweight just very tall .I've never had issues at other better buffets in Edinburgh . Avoid being discriminated against by staff

Food and service very good. Unfortunately toilets were the poorest I've had to use. They were all blocked and full to the brim with urine and tissue.

Asked before entering if there was gluten free options and the waitress said yes. There wasn't. Chips, rice and salmon or beef and 2 sushi choices. That was it. I had to fill up on jelly and Eton mess. Very disappointing. I got €10 off because I complained.

Food was great but took 20 mins and asking 4 different staff before we got our drinks and when leaving it took 10-15 mins in the queue to get served to pay the bill

Food was good, everything was hot and there was a wide variety, the service was great and cocktails were lush. My only issue is that it was so loud! I couldn't have a conversation as it was so loud. It would have been great to have maybe some sectioned off for some quiet spaces for those with additional needs or sensory issues as we had to leave earlier than we had liked as my son was struggling with the noise.

Would appreciate a few dairy free options especially ice cream. Thete were no pancakes only a few dried up things available. Disappointing visit after many great visits previous years.

Despite repeatedly asking the staff if they would refill the empty trays, we were met with vague reassurances of "soon," but in nearly two hours of our visit, nothing was restocked. It was frustrating, to say the least, especially considering the price we paid. The lack of food options and poor service quality didn't come close to justifying the cost. We weren't the only ones disappointed; we overheard other guests complaining about the limited selection and delays in replenishing the food. For anyone considering a visit, I would suggest choosing another restaurant where you’ll likely have a better experience.

Variety of food quite good and quite clean restaurant.

This was my first time here with colleagues from work, We did book in advance, (I would advise you do this). Easy to get to from Waverley, nice decor, Plenty of food choices, good selection of cocktails, Would go back.
