Cosmo in Havering

The restaurant was extremely busy last night and we had hoped it would match the fab experience we had at Cosmo Sheffield a few years ago, sadly it didn't. . The food was good, although could have been hotter. It was replenished regularly and most was tasty and enjoyable, although some of the meat was tough as boots. In our opinion, it was mainly spoilt by the other customers there. From a family complaining about the pricing and location of their table, to a kids party, to toddlers running around, screaming girls climbing and standing on their seats to get in and out. It was in no way relaxing and was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other speak. Our chairs were continually knocked as the groups raced back and forth to the food area. We felt that we were seated far too close to the louder groups and it was uncomfortable. We did expect it to be busy and a bit manic, as we go to Jimmy's regularly and it can be the same, but in my opinion, Jimmy's is far more organised, less manic and the staff seem to be less stressed there. Everyone was dashing around, plates were not cleared quickly and there didn't appear to be enough staff. In summary, the food was good, the place was cramped, noisy and very manic with many grumpy looking staff and customers. Sorry to say, we are not sure we will return in a hurry.

Went here to grab some tea whilst in the area. The restaurant itself looked busy, which I thought was a good sign I appreciate that the general concept is high volume, however, the high turnover items were not being replenished in a timely manner The food itself was warm at best.. Before we were due to leave, I decided to use the rest facilities. It was at this time I discovered an item not listed on the menu…. It appeared that someone had deposited a trout on the floor of the area in front of the cubical. Got to be honest, I’m not sure how you end up in the position of making a deposit that far from the pan.. On a positive note, it was good to see that the staff took the situation seriously and placed a wet floor sign over the human nugget… Avoid at all costs!!

Terrible. Terrible food. Terrible service. Extremely overpriced. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Will never return. Just shocking.

Awful experience last night, now I do jot eat Indian Chinese food etc, we went for a big family celebration, looked online menu said did pizza and carvery so thought I would be okay, ...food looked terrible restaurant was manic and the service was terrible, as soon as we sat down they was on us to pay before we even got to look at the food , wasn't given the choice to have a refill drink wasn't told options by the staff ( this was our first and last visit ) . Went to look for food , vegetable at the carvey were sat in water along with the meat which was pink . Looked at the pizzas they looked like they needed another 10 minutes in the oven , looked at the chicken nuggets etc all looked dry and burnt . So for my main meal I had 4 half of roast potatoes ( they were advertised as roast potatoes but were actually just boiled). For dessert no better looked like it had all come out of iceland party food range . So I had 4 tiny bits of brownie ..on speaking to the manger to ask for a full or part refund..was told no because I had eaten , wouldn't even offer £10 back. I said uou took over £81 off me which also included a service charge which was definitely not worth it , before we had even looked at the food . Whole experience was awful and would definitely not go again..even if we had enjoyed the food the actually restaurant set up was just so manic couldn't even hear people next to you .

Went last night (Sunday evening at 6pm) They were 4 of us. Our table was broken and extremely wobbly, one of our chair backs were broken. We went to get the food, most dishes were empty and we was left trying to chose something we would like. Even when we were trying to get things we would like, other customers were very pushy and grabbing what was there because there was not enough food. The chocolate fountain was not working which was disappointing but the worst part was that other customers were using their own spoons that they had already eaten off of to spoon the remaining chocolate into their bowls. When we were trying to get desserts that were left, there was a worker in the way who did not move and was cleaning down the area and packing it away. I heard another customer say that it looked like they were packing up for the night. It was extremely crowded and the customers were feral. Very disappointed that we had chose Cosmos, Romford to have a celebratory meal. It was a disgusting experience that cost way too much money. Will never ever come here again. I would rather make the journey to Ilford and go to JRC Global Buffet, Ilford. The food, especially the Indian, was watery and was like a microwave meal.

We had such a lovely family meal at Cosmo! So much food variety which was very tasty and fresh for a buffet. Service was great and they are still offering bottomless drinks! All Covid-19 restrictions were in place! Very safe. Welcome back Cosmo!

I love this place. Choose what you want from a huge variety of delicious dishes. It’s clean and modern and reasonably priced for a nice lunch. I tend to go more in the daytime than evenings due to my work schedule. You won’t be disappointed....
