Great place can see why it’s busy. Food was brilliant and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend and return.

Had a really delicious meal , staff are a really great team , steak was immense and panncotta one of the nicest I’ve had with a limoncello , thank you to the king waitress who asked the chef to squeeze us in after last food order , ❤️

A 5* restaurant with outstanding food. Absolutely thrilled I took my husband here for his birthday whilst on holiday. Booking essential. One of the nest dining experiences we have endured. Thank you. And to the owners, your waiting staff are impeccable!

Omg amazing. We had both nibbles lovely wider bowl needed for the olive oil balsamic vinegar. Starters were lovely .lobster ravioli and bruscheta gorgonzola and prosciutto.followed by king prawn and mussel tagliatelle. And lamb ragu dessert creme brulee and tiramisu ( which could have had more alcohol in ) followed by cocktails. Staff were amazing and attentive. Even sang happy birthday to me as desserts came out. Next time we are here will visit again. Portion sizes perfect

Absolutely amazing Italian staff amazing venue out of this world

The pasta arrabbiata was the best I’ve ever had anywhere! We were a large family group. Service was excellent and very attentive throughout the meal. We’ve been several times over the years and never been disappointed

Absolutely brilliant the food is amazing , it's the best Italian we have had in this country the staff were very nice and the place is lovely really recommend it , I advise you to book especially if you want to dine on a Saturday 👍

Really enjoyable visit. We have been before and loved it but seen a couple of recent negative reviews so did wonder. However, food was excellent and staff were great. We will be back on our next trip to Whitby

A perfect end to a few days in the Whitby area. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. It wasn’t inexpensive but we definitely felt the quality and quantity justified the prices.

We visited as a group of 6 - my family and my children’s friends - on a short break to Whitby. The service we had was excellent - much better than in restaurants we visit down south. The food was delicious too. I had the lobster ravioli and the lamb. The cooking of the lamb was perfect and everyone was happy. Portion sizes are very generous which adds to value for money. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We have eaten here before when visiting Whitby. It’s a lovely place and service is good. Our starters were excellent but both mains were lacking. My Amatriciana contained the gristly, fatty bits of pancetta which was unappealing and I left them. The calzone hadn’t been cooked for long enough so was still doughy. Needs a bit more care before letting the food leave the kitchen.

Great starters and mains, lovely tasty food. Especially recommend the bruschetta pomadoro and the spaghetti carbonara. Nice cocktails and a good selection of wines and beers. Deserts try the crème brûlée avoid the tiramisu, poorly executed and disappointing in the extreme. The one part that let the restaurant down was the very below par service. Waiting ages for drinks, orders to be taken, refills. In fact waiting and being ignored was the order of the evening. Quick suggestion don’t leave the kids upstairs on their own, have some adult supervision. We would have quite happily had another couple of drinks and probably stayed longer. As it was no thanks. If you can book a table downstairs and avoid the tiramisu.

Cold food and indifferent rude staff. Very poor.

Just visited this without a reservation what an absolute delight would recommend this little gem of an Italian restaurant. We arrived without a reservation and were quickly shown to a table. After viewing the menu I asked our waitress if they did dishes off menu she asked me what I would like and went to ask the chef returning to inform me that they could cater for my request and I'm just sorry that I did not take a photo of the dish. I have to say that everything we ordered was absolutely delicious the salad, the salmon linguine was something else and the wine just rounded the whole thing off. If you like good food, from what we tasted tonight you won't be disappointed 10/10

Came last night and food was Excellent

Superb food and a great place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff were very attentive and came across to our table to sing “Happy Birthday”. Lovely atmosphere.

My partner & I visited here recently while on a trip away. The food was beautiful & good size portions. Staff were really friendly & lovely atmosphere too. We'd definitely recommend it & would love to go back in the future.

I was in Whitby for a few nights with the wife and we discovered this fantastic place,. The staff are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food was extremely tasty. We where lucky enough to walk in and get a table, but I would reccomend booking online

We visited tonight with a guest from France, a country known for excellent restaurants. Our French friends loved it. We had fabulous food, the Starter from the specials board was awesome. The Pizza is the best in Whitby. Food came at a nice pace, we didn't feel rushed. Staff were friendly.

Always an enjoyable meal. Excellent staff. Tasty good. A little long on the wait for the food to arrive, both starters and main nut worth the wait. Strongly recommend 👌

Nice building, very interesting. But creates a noisy atmosphere. The food disappointed. Served Luke warm on cold dishes so within 5 minutes it was cold. It tasted fine but pasta isn't easy to keep warm and serving it in cold dishes was a schoolboy error. For the price paid, poor and as a Whitby resident will not be back and cannot recommend.

We have visited many times over the last 10 years but we feel the quality of the food has gone down. The staff are lovely and attentive but they are not cooking the food. I had seafood linguine with only 3 prawns in it, its as if they are cutting back on ingredients to save money. The lasagna wasn’t the best and didn’t taste like it should. Very sad as it could be very special. Will give a wide berth for now.

From the moment we walked in we felt excited. We were greeted perfectly and shown to our table. The entire restaurant was full! Walking up the stairs we took in the fantastic atmosphere while enjoying a sneak preview of the food on offer. We loved the table layouts, especially all the different levels, despite this you still felt close enough to everyone to be included in the atmosphere - it’s worth noting that if you have difficulty with stairs then you may wish to request a ground floor table when booking. We were served in perfect time, not pushed or pressured, nor left too long and every member of staff was so friendly. The food arrived in a timely manner, still hot (some of the tables are a long way from the kitchen but no problem there - they have a dumbwaiter!). My wife ordered Ravioli for starters and myself the Garlic Prawns. We were instantly blown away by the flavours and quality of the food and agreed this was up there with one of the best starters we’ve ever had. For mains we had Gnocci Di Zucca and Sea Bass with a side of Truffle Chips. Wow, another delicious course and plenty there to keep most appetites satisfied. Another huge judgement call was made that it was up there with the best we’ve ever had. Unfortunately we couldn’t squeeze in a 3rd course so are unable to judge sweets. We 100% recommend to anyone and are a little sad we live a couple of hours away - though this gives us yet another good excuse to come back to Whitby :-).

While staying in the Whitby area, my wife and I booked into Costa Nostra Italian restaurant on New years Eve. The staff were very friendly and all dressed up in sparkly dresses,tops, and even hot pants. The place was well decorated and was full and a wonderful atmosphere. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful and even helped with the choice of wine by letting me taste two to decide which I wanted. The starter was amazing it was goats cheese with figs, which only I had. We both decided on the same main meal of smoked haddock Risotto, which was cooked to perfection. It was very light and morish that said there was nothing left on our plates. I finished off with a portion of panettone bread and butter pudding and coffee. The evening was wonderful. We will definitely be visiting here in the future.

Absolutely delicious meal here tonight. So good I I could eat it again. I had the masala chicken, my husband had the lamb rump. Cannot wait to return. Excellent service too, really lovely staff.

I had pizza...I am Italian and thus a bit biased by the quality of Italian food in England! The pizza wasn't of my teste...too thin and too crunchy! Rest of my family had a fish pasta dish, but again too creamy!! The start, focaccia & olives were very very good. Desert - sticky toffee- was amazing too. It was okish, but far from being a good authentic Italian food!

A lovely place for a meal. Amazing location, with huge ceilings. Friendly staff, tasty food and no pressure to leave as soon as you've finished eating, which was nice.

Being local I used to visit here a couple of times a month A year or so ago we had some bad experiences so fell out with the place So tonight was the big come back with high expectations - the staff were transactional, the choice although lots of dishes the content of the dishes restricted choice the quality was at best average There are better places to eat in Whitby and I wanted this visit to be special but unfortunately it didn’t deliver

It is a beautiful building and has a great atmosphere. The staff are really lovely . My calzone was delicious and my husband had a lamb dish . I would have given it 5 stars but it was actually very expensive! My pizza was 18.95 ! It clearly has a captive audience and for a one off you don’t mind paying the money .

Simply delicious food in a lovely setting with great staff. What's not to enjoy. We walked in on a busy evening without having booked, and staff were so helpful in finding us a table and being so attentive for the whole evening. On my next trip I won't hesitate to return.

The food was good but the service was quite bad. Not only got given meat when specifically asking for vegetarian. Mistakes happen and I was completely fine with this. Then I got charged extra for the meat meal that I didn’t order so I said I will just not leave the tip and they can keep the difference between prices. And then payed. To later find when I had connection that I got overcharged by £10. I wasn’t shown the screen and wasn’t asked if I want a receipt. Really disappointing as it was a birthday dinner. Really poor as £10 is a lot to be overcharged for continual mistakes over the evening.

Lovely little place. Amazing service from all the team, very attentive but also not pestering. The food was delicious.

We ordered 5 different dishes. The prices were slightly higher but the choice of food was really impressive. My beef ragu was lovely. Selection of wine was great too. The only down side is we waited around 30-35 minutes for food, and it was not busy (5pm).

Another brilliant visit. Very welcoming and made to feel at ease. As a person dinning alone it was very reassuring. The lady with blond hair and glasses was so enjoyable to watch. She is clearly a major asset to the team. All the staff were brilliant. The food was amazing as ever. Definitely be back on our next trip to Whitby.

Very busy Halloween. But that did not stop the amazing service we received. The food was incredible and the servers were very accommodating and checked in with us. Honestly recommend to everyone.

Was given a lovely warm welcome, the reaturant was clean, the decor is lovely!! The Food was impeccable! The starters, mains and desserts were spot on! All food was served hot, I liked that we had time between courses. Toilets were clean.

Menu was quite limited so was a little disappointed. Then chose items which weren't the best and was a bit pricey. On a positive note the atmosphere was great and staff were all lovely!

Love this place, always my goto when visiting whitby, I highly recommend xx

Great Italian food, good value but at busy times it can get very slow. Its typical Italian very busy quite noisy with all the chatter. The food is amazing and we went twice in the week it was that good. When they are busy it can be an hour between your starter things been taken and the main meal arriving. We lost patience with deserts as breatkfast may have come first.

We are on a break in Whitby and actually went to Cosa Nostra twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are friendly but low key. We loved the whole experience and will be back next time we are in Whitby.

Drinks served without coasters onto plastic topped tables, meaning cold drinks gather pools of condensation, which then drip as you sip. Lasagne was served lukewarm and the pasta dish was dry as hell. Server did not mention that specials were available. Not recommended.

A popular Italian. We turned up mid week with no booking and couldn’t get a table so booked to go back later in the week. It’s a bit pricey but everything that we ate and drank was excellent. We will return.

We had a really lovely meal here on a Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was so sweet and made sure we had everything we needed, she was very attentive. Lovely setting with only a couple of other people eating. We had bruschetta and caprese salad to start and seafood linguine and ravioli all washed down with a nice bottle of red. Food very good. Would return and would recommend.

Came with family (kids as well) and the staff were absolutely amazing with us. Very proactive with spotting opportunities to help us out and keep the children engaged and were never too far away for another drink.

Food was nice and fresh but not outstanding. I had lasagne which was packed with meat but the sauce around it was just like tomatoes without any flavour, as this is Italian I'd have expected rich deep flavour from it so a little disappointed 😞 sorry Great service though and friendly staff

Chose this restaurant to celebrate 30th Wedding anniversary, beautiful restaurant inside and staff were very friendly. Opted for the Chicken Rigatoni Arrabbiata and a Lasagne all cooked beautifully and very tasty. Went for the Tiramisu as dessert which was also very good. Restaurant is in great location and I would highly recommend a visit.

Really enjoyed this restaurant, the food, service and decor in an interesting setting too.

The waitresses near the top was fantastic, couldn't fault them. Drinks: only have 1 cider so didn't bother with an alcoholic drink as it just catered to wine drinkers. Food: had garlic bread to start. Shared between two ,the portion was fantastic, however the it didn't taste of garlic with each slice. Had prosciutto pizza for main. Bit skimpy on the prosciutto considering the extensive price. The sauce was also a bit sharp and the cheese wasn't very nice (was meant to be mozzerala). Partner loved his. Overall staff are great but food could do with improvement considering how expensive it is.

Lovely staff, went above and beyond and super friendly. The food was ok, we all had pizzas - they were nice but a little tight on the toppings! We did enjoy the Parmesan fries they were yummy. Disappointed at the pudding menu - not a lot of inspiration! The actual building is beautiful and the toilets very clean. Overall a fairly nice meal and nice to have something other than fish and chips in Whitby.

Visited here last night after seeing it was highly rated! The staff were lovely & accommodating ☺️ the garlic bread to start was great 👌🏻 however me & my partner both had the beef shin ragu in a red wine jus which I was soo looking forward to- I had with gnocci and he had with tagliatelle however it lacked flavour and felt more of a tomato sauce than a ragu/jus which was a little disappointing. However I would go again just maybe get a different dish

Had a takeaway pizza -I was charged £1.10 extra for the box, an absolute disgrace. Unfortunately I only saw it afterwards and no one said anything about it -the pizza was completely burnt on the bottom -the dough was 0.0% fluffy and hard as a board -nothing special, no recommendation

Avoid. Been twice now over the last couple of years and terrible both times- was hoping the first time was a blip, the worst pizza ever- rock hard, dry base. Obviously won’t be going again but luckily there are lots of other fab places to eat in Whitby.
