went for a chippy tea on saturday and was blown away,the shop was a bit busy but the staff worked together to get everyone served quickly and was definitely worth the wait! was fresh made brilliant service will definitely be coming again!

Yet another Yorkshire gem of a chippy found whilst stopping in the nearby Premier Inn at Hornbeam Park I decided to do some research for a Friday Chippy Tea. All the food is freshly cooked to order with notices in the window stating a 20min wait can be expected at busy times. Let me tell you it’s worth the wait for your freshly cooked stunning food. I opted for Fish and Chips and a battered jumbo sausage with a side of curry sauce all at a very reasonable price. Take a visit if in the area you will not be disappointed at all.

Absolutely fantastic chippy. Best chippy in Harrogate if you're taking it home for yummy fish and chips in front of the telly. Absolutely delicious food and a friendly bunch. Quick service and good value.

Had the jumbo haddock here and it was delicious - fresh flaky fish with perfectly golden crispy batter. The chips were also some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend!

Awesome fish and chips. But also costs a load no longer can you get enough fish and chips with mushy peas for 20 quid. But it is awesome and tasty.

Having used this fish and chip shop for many years I was extremely disappointed as the chips were inedible. The fish was actually excellent but completely over shadowed by the terrible chips which comprised of a small portion of bits - very hard and overcooked. Completely spoils my evening meal !!

Just passing through Harrogate at lunchtime and spotted this chip shop. Everything cooked to order and served piping hot.well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Not up to your usual high standards this lunchtime. The food tasted rather stale as if it had been standing around too long. We've always been delighted with it through lockdown so will give it another chance.

I ordered fish, chips and Irish curry. Upon seeing the curry sauce being served separately in a small tub I ordered another. Cost in total just under £9. Unwrapped in the car to discover that the meal was just in paper and not a tray, tricky with curry sauce, no fork either, luckily I had an emergency one in the glove compartment. The fish was good albeit on the small side, the chips were some of the best that I have ever eaten, the curry was very good though a little heavy on the salt. The service was friendly.

Normally it’s really good, freshly made but still quick. However, I had to wait for over 20 minutes to get a single portion of fish and chips (it wasn’t busy when I got there, only 2 others waiting) while the owner/ manager was just chatting to a mate. I understand that sometimes it takes a while to cook the food and that’s ok, but I didn’t even get an apology or them letting me know why it was taking so long. Just would’ve expected better from a business that we have used for years and is normally really good. The food itself is really good and is a high quality but the wait and lack of apology doesn’t make up for that.

First time, used to go to Olivers. Ordering - you need a board outside saying what to do, then everyone will order, pay and wait. Worth the wait. Refreshed them in the Aga - very good scran indeed.

I highly recommend coronation fisheries, their fish and chips are amazing! The food is always fresh and good quality, the portions are very generous and the staff are lovely. This is with out a doubt my favourite chippy! The food is perfect every time, I’ll definitely be back again soon.

I telephone ordered a Jumbo and chips on their 2nd day of opening after lockdown. The fish was probably the best I've ever tasted from a fish and chip shop. So well done guys on getting up and running so quickly and to such a high standard.

I grew up in Harrogate, and every Saturday lunch for around 15 years we'd get Fish and Chips from Coronation Fisheries until I moved in the early 90s. They were at that time, without a doubt, the best fish and chips in Harrogate. I had the unfortunate task of emptying my mothers flat now that she's moved into residential care. For old times sake my siblings and I had a final Coronation chip shop visit once the flat was done. I wasn't sure we should go back in case it spoilt the memories of fantastic lunches. But I needn't have worried.The queue was out of the door when I got there. As soon as you enter the shop you're asked what fish you want, they're battered and go into the fryer. When you get to the front of the queue you're served fish straight out the fryer - no time for these fish to stand about going soggy. It's worth saying that although we were queuing out of the door, the speed at which they server meant it took about 7 minutes from arriving to leaving.And yes - they were every bit as good as I remember. Crispy batter on delicious fish, chips were large cut but well fried. Thoroughly recommend them as the best F&C in Harrogate, as they were 45 years ago and still are today.

Amazing gluten free battered fish! Hubby was told he was the first to buy the newly available gluten free fish tonight, and I was really impressed - tastes just like the 'real' thing, from what I remember. Lovely crunchy batter. This place is a hidden gem. The chips are chunky and are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My friend had the chicken and mushroom pie which was tasty and had big chunks of chicken in it. All other chips I've had from other places are very greasy in comparison. I will be visiting again.

We have used this takeaway for many years but the fish is now so greasy that it will be the last time! The fish is cooked to order but it is not allowed to drain and it’s wrapped straight away. When you unwrap it the paper is swimming with grease and if you press the batter it seeps through the fork. The batter is so soft and wet it’s unpleasant. I have heard other customers complain of the greasy fish but the chaps cooking and serving do not seem to understand just how greasy it is to eat. It’s foolish not to accept customer comments because we are the ones paying for it then throwing it away! The chips are not greasy at all it’s just the fish.Can I very seriously suggest that the owner and his assistant visit Isles Lane in Knaresborough to Paragon Fisheries. The fish they serve has the crispiest grease free batter you will ever eat. It would honestly be an eye opener for you both and is not suggested maliciously but in order for you to see that not all fish is fried like it is at Coronation.

Regular visitor for "saturday lunch!". Parents love them. Always tasty and served by friendly staff.

Fresh fish and chips cooked to order while you wait . As you walk in through the door you are asked if you are wanting fish , then it's put in batter and then in the fryer to cook. It doesn't get much better than that.

Excellent chippy, worth a trip if you're in the area

Decided to call in again following a long break after reading recent great reviews, bad mistake! I could not believe that lessons have not been learned and the good fish they acquire is ruined. By the time I had got home each portion of fish and chips had loads of oil on the OUTSIDE of the wrapper, never seen that before. The oil had made the batter very soggy and inedible, the chips soggy too. Other customers must love fish and chips with their cup of oil! Whoever was cooking on Thursday 18 January get yourself to Gravelleys take away in town and check out how it should be done, I will be there from now on.

Crisp batter and chips, flaky white cod. Line out the door in this small establishment clearly well known by the locals. Narrow street behind M&S; foodhall. Two picnic benches outside provide seating. Well worth heading to the edges of Harrogate for an authentically delish experience.
