Best fish and chips ive had in a long time

Favourite dish ever now is their pulled pork with nacho cheese sauce on chips, best chips ever all perfect as don't like the crispy bits & there's non. Kids said have recently taken milkshakes off the menu 🤞🤞 they bring them back, don't know if still serve in shop.

Looks run down, nothing like pictures online. Dirty inside. Staff were only interested in all the deliveroo drivers who kept cutting in front of us in the queue. Ended up not bothering to order food and ate elsewhere.

What a delicious fish and chips we had with our school French students ! The staff was so kind, available and efficient. And dance time at the end of our meal was just outstanding !!! We'll come back with pleasure !!!

My mother has been here a few times,so thought we would give it a go. I have to say they were the best Fish and Chips. Great chips,light crispy batter around a tasty piece if Fish. Pensioners meal,under £10. Five stars

Fabulous food great service lovely staff . Waitress Kristine was especially helpful and so friendly put me at ease as I was on my own. Definitely a place you will want to visit again and again. I went twice in one week! All food cooked to order.

The chips was soaked with oil,the lady that serve me was ok..the fish has a very wired teast.read the manu carefully before you buy!!! There are minor scams in the food manu just be extra careful.in all is rip off.advice you not to go there. I had a food poisoning.i have been sick in my van from Plymouth to London ffs.

Shouldn't have been surprised, unfortunately the plaice has sold out on my last visit but the chef recommended haddock, which was just as delicious. He presented it in helping me decide and I was impressed seeing it was fresh, and not frozen. Partly why it's so good here? Has to be the best fish and chips in Plymouth as all the orders going out whilst I waited showed.

England with fish and chips is a must have. All good, just a snack.

Very warm welcome when entering from the waitress, found a table, ordering was quick & very easy from the waitress🥰. Best fish & chips I've had for a long time,batter was very light & fluffy,fish was fresh & it was proper chip shop chips🙏🏻. Very clean & tidy, atmosphere was lovely, would highly recommend, will definitely be going when I find time. I've just moved to the area & this place will be my go to favour ❤️.

Really nice people, had a scampi and chips. Scampi was full of flavour which is not always the case. Had some not long before that was bland.

I come here weekly. Food is amazing. The fish is superb and the burgers are out of this world! Tell chrissy the waitress that mike the bus driver recommended the place to you!

Last minute choice as myself and a friend, were unable to make up our minds, what a great choice, fast efficient service from the lovely Christy, the fish was in the most gorgeous light crispy batter, big flakes and cooked perfectly, it was accompanied by a large pot of mushy peas and golden chips, and all washed down with a mug of tea, very reasonably priced as it's in the city, we shall be back 👍

Always stunning food and plenty of it no matter what you have and always fresh, Chrissy the server is just so lovey , really friendly and so helpful Always got a smile for everyone, highly recommend to go there for gorgeous fish and chip's and other food , you won't regret it 👍

Me, my partner and my 4 month old came here for the first time today and ordered a fry up….it was the best fry up we’ve had and we eat them a lot 😂everything was cooked lovely and it wasn’t greasy at all but still delicious. I breastfed my daughter and felt relaxed enough to do so in a very friendly environment. The waitress was lovely too and made you feel welcome. Overall a really lovely experience and we will definitely be back again soon.

We decided to order from reviews on TripAdvisor and we wasn’t disappointed. We ordered a large fish and chips and it easily fed both of us, we both have big appetites and we were full afterwards. The only qualm we have was the price, though with the quality of the food and how tasty the curry sauce and gravy was this made up for it. Oh and they do Saveloy’s which is pretty unusual at most fish and chip shops nowadays as it seems to be all about the battered sausages.

Super value for money. We had small cod with small chips and plaice with small chips. Smashed peas, tartan sauce. Ambiente is fast-food-look, but the food is great. (Except for the flavored fake malt vinegar ... but rest ist great).

Brilliant food the best in Plymouth for sure!! Recommended to many friends all have absolutely loved it and go frequently now! Only thing is, there isn't a toilet for customer use

First visit today with my friend we had small fish small chip and peas .wow if that was small god knows how big the large fish and chips would be.we enjoyed are meal the waitress was lovely great prices.We will definitely be going back I would say many times.

Was recommended this place by a lady on reception where we were staying. Absolutely beautiful food, my partner had cod and chips, my niece had just chips and I had halloumi and chips. Absolutely lovely food. Downside is they no longer have Cod Roe on the menu apparently (I specifically asked the person who recommended this place if anywhere nearby sold this, which is why she recommended here) so was a little disappointed by this, however thoroughly enjoyed my meal regardless. This set us up for the long journey back home to Liverpool. Will return again next time. Man on the counter was very smiley, happy and inviting.

When I ordered from home I ordered two cods but when it arrived I got something that I didn't order and it costed more than the two cods

Popped in for an early dinner with the kids as we’ve had takeaway from here before and the food was amazing once again, the lovely lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming, there were 8 of us and nothing seemed stressful like it can be when eating in a large group, especially one with kids! The food arrived quickly, mixed items for all of us but I had the pulled pork chips with Louisiana coating and it was lovely, a huge portion too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, decent food, decent price and great staff.

Chris the server is exceptional, what she doesn't know about customer service isn't worth knowing. Will eat here again. Food is excellent.

I got fish and chips recently as you would do, I found the fish to be fine enough, tho the batter can be too thick for those who prefer thin batter, but nonetheless tasty. The chips were not to my liking as it looked like they used frozen chips hence the 3 stars as in my opinion a good fish&chip establishment should only use fresh potatoes. Friendly helpful staff makes the place warm and welcoming. Easy access for those who are disabled.

Ordered via Just eat food arrived for the 3rd time in recent orders incomplete. this time missing Medium chips. Phoned up to inform of error which was confirmed by the counter staff. Heard 'he's kicking off' in conversation with chef I had only stated item was missing and refund via just eat was a pain to get. Staff confirmed the chips had not been dispatched no offer to send replacement. When I mentioned that I had overheard the conversation I was now kicking off to compain that was poor customer service I got a tirade along the lines of have you heard yourself what about your customer service. Disappointed as have used this chippy for years . Now looking elsewhere.

It was OK would eat in again if in town

We tried their fish and chips after reading all the 5 star reviews. We got take away at the time. Well, I can understand why they got the 5 stars! The food was done to perfection! Today we ate in. My brother had jumbo sausage and chips and I had the cheesy chicken chomper. The waitress chrissy was really friendly and made sure we were satisfied. We are definitely going back for more! You really need to visit this place!!!

This is my go to chippy now, even if I’m going to the Barbican I get them here first, it always tastes so nice and you don’t taste it for the rest of the day either which you get with most.

Not been there since it was Pirelli's fish bar many years ago. We were returning from theatre and decided to get Fish & Chips for the walk home, which we did and which were excellent, plus great value!

The very best Fish & Chips I ever have. We tried the Plaice and it’s so tender. The batter is so light and chips is gorgeous, not sure if it’s homemade or not. You can taste the sweetness of it. Though it’s a bit oily but can’t help to finish all. thank you

Ordered through Deliveroo. Normally arrives within 20 minutes of collection and is hot, however today it was collected at 17:36 and didn't arrive until 18:56, so as you can imagine was warm. The shop is only 11 minutes from our house. Not happy.........

Ate here earlier this evening. Small fish & fish bites fresh & tasty. Chippies lovely & fluffy but still crispy & portion sizes amazing! Staff happy to pack leftovers in a doggy bag so had supper as well. Can really recommend.

Disgusting practices, stop feeding seagulls from the back door and living in the store room, you brought a terrible problem of rats to the area which was never there before the new owners to over, being passed on to Plymouth community homes and Plymouth city council. Disgusting.

We went there on Sat 20th May, Chrissie is fantastic, she greets every customer as though they are her friends. The service is quick, each meal freshly cooked and the batter was delicious, I normally leave it everywhere we have it, but it was beautiful and crunchy. The chips were cooked perfectly too. Chrissie is a diamond and as asset to the owners. 10/10 every visit.

Lady who took orders very friendly and chatty. We are visiting from Lancashire and the food was extremely good. Plenty of room to sit down and clean toilets. Would definitely come back again. Well done management of the cornwall fish bar.
