Nice ambience. Looked like the place was understaffed and they were not prepared to serve for Christmas menu drinks and dinner. Late service and cold food mostly with less quantity except for main course. Had to ask 2 to 3 times to get the pre-ordered food to be served. Really near to improve the service !

Lovely restaurant in the heart of the city. I went there with a couple of friends for a dinner and the food was very good (especially the Tortellini) , they have a very nice selection of wines on the menu and the atmosphere is great. The staff was lovely and very attentive. Would definitely recommend!

Drinks and nibbles! The atmosphere is bustling and quite trendy. Obviously a popular venue. The reserved tables were not sufficiently sign-posted so we were rather encroached upon and bumped at times. The food was tasty enough but not memorable, the fries were hard but i ate plenty! Drinks were refreshing. Staff efficient if not overly friendly.

I went with a group of my friends for a birthday meal, absolutely great burgers and the drinks were well made as well. Our waitress was super friendly aswell. Overall great atmosphere and we are already planning to come back!!

The rudest staff ever. They made a double booking and kept insisting we need to leave even though we had food and drinks on the table. They never acknowledged it was their fault and the waitress said we can have 10-15 min to finish which should be more than fine as she could down a bottle in 2min. In the end they didnt want to reduce the bill for what we couldn’t consume as we were forced out and instead included a few extra drinks on the bill. Unacceptable attitude and behaviour !

If you're going here for a glass of wine and nibbles it was score pretty well, but if you're thinking of eating here don't. Curry is THE WORST I've ever tasted. The chicken IN IT (3 PIECES) was hard and chewy and I didn't eat the rest of it. Tasted like a jar of sauce from a supermarket, fine for home but not at £17 a meal! Bread burnt and chewy also. They forgot our cocktails and these weren't good either bit did take themnoff the bill. Others in a group had fried food and this apparently was good.

We reserved a table for lunch, yet we were seated in the worst possible table for drinks in a not-so-busy restaurant . We ordered one cocktail, a glass of wine and a canned mixer - they came after 25-30 minutes because -he said - the old fashioned takes that long (it was the worst I have ever had, never imagined you can go wrong with this one). 10 minutes after we say, look this is taking too long, and voila our plates (salad and a chicken Kiev) arrive. The chicken was very dry and cold…. It could have been nice, but in fact it was VERY BAD…. 2 and not 1 because, we made fun of the situation and we gain a story to tell…

Been to the Otherist a couple of times, but last Thursday i had the opportunity to meet Robert. An excellent young bartender , he made us some amazing drinks and we had a great evening at the bar. He’s espresso martinis are delicious!!!For sure we will be back, keep up the good work.

Second time we have booked our private office party for 200+ staff here. The fact that we have gone back to the same venue for the first time ever speaks volumes. Good venue made great by excellent, friendly, helpful staff. Recommended for large office parties.

Had our Christmas meal here last Thursday, 2.30pm table for 12 people. The tables were dressed nicely and a nice touch to have the place name with menu choice on it. Not sure if the chef was having an off day or not but the food (for the price) was average at very best. Starter was nice, but would could go wrong with cold pate, the main of venison was way over done, swimming in source with an lack of anything else on the plate. The desert of pear tarte tatin - well if you believe that was a pear tarte tatin then i think a day at cookery school is in order. its not a piece of over cooked pastry with under cooked pear sitting on top, it should be cooked together for starters,The atmosphere was good, loud but expected and the front of house staff worked hard. i would recommend a slightly earlier sitting to avoid people finishing work before the end of the meal.

Another work lunch at The Otherist, the food is far superior to The Drift, which is the same chain and same menu and less than 2 mins away. Served by Ligita who is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, on the spot, and beautiful! Highly recommended!

Overall a great experience. For a table of 8 we were served quickly and staff very attentive. Various dishes ordered and the curry, gnocchi and burgers were a great hit.

We had a lunch the other day in The Otherist and really enjoyed the whole experience. We really liked the vibe of the place and the food was delicious, we took advice from our lovely waitress Anna and we were very pleased, we felt very well looked after.

We booked an area in the venue together with my colleagues and it turned out to be a good choice. The atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress Anna went above and beyond looking after us, we’ll definitely book again.

It’s a nice place for a date, the space is quite nice, good food and people know how to help you to choose a nice wine. This Brazilian girl, Barbara was really helpful and everything she suggested was great. I’ll probably back soon.

I visited The Otherist for business meal and I was astonished by the service we've received - lovely Ania had everything under control, even though we came during the busiest time! The food was really tasty, the drinks selection was amazing. Overall experience was very good and I will be back for sure.

I usually do not leave many reviews as compliments, but I was waiting for an old friend in your bar and the barman Alex being very welcoming, introduced me to my new favourite cocktail! French martini I think is the name is a great cocktail and I shall come back to this bar now, really happy with customer service and good ambience.

I'd booked a table for two for BH Monday here after searching for non chain restaurants within a 15 min walk of our hotel near Tower Bridge. Unfortunately when we arrived it was closed. We were so disappointed and had to hastily find another local restaurant, ending up at Wagamama knowing the food would be good, if predictable. I could easily have done my review then whilst feeling a bit cross about the situation. Instead I emailed the restaurant to explain what happened and give them a chance to explain before giving a negative review.

Working in central London I find that many places are overpriced for what you get. Not here, the prices are good, the food is good, but the service is superb! Well done to the beautiful Anna in particular who always finds a smile for us and provides the perfect amount of attention! A real gem!

I came to the otherist with my friends for a few drinks and some food on a Friday evening. The ambience was so fun and relaxed, the music was a great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, really went out of their way to make sure we had a good night. In particular Ligita made fantastic efforts to ensure we had everything we wanted, her service was really 10/10 and I’ll remember the place and a good night thanks to her efforts. Can only recommend this place, only good things to say. Thanks team for the memories!

I took my team out for a pre-Christmas breakfast last Friday. I booked the table in advance, and the staff kindly let me come in a bit earlier so that I could check the table and leave some gifts.We arrived and were warmly welcomed and left menus. The staff were friendly and efficient, and took our order without any problem. Coffees arrived swiftly, and then we had a bit of a wait for the food - but it was worth it. The food was delicious! The price is reasonable, and they add a service charge which is fine. My only slight surprise was that I asked for a jug of orange juice, and that cost £10, which I thought was excessive. That said, we had an enjoyable time and I would certainly return.

I stopped off whilst killing time in City, thought the service was absolutely A1, stayed a while and nobody called it into question.

Visited with 6 colleagues on Monday evening and I am only expressing my opinion. Ordered salt an pepper squid for starters and arrived quickly as it was not busy. The squid was insipid and when looking for the fire from the “salt and pepper” it had no real piquancy. For mains, I ordered a Roasted Poussin but unfortunately a relatively “just been in the sun for my lunch hour skin” version arrived. Edible, but expected crisp skin and unctuousness, was unfortunately sadly missing. Visited the toilets before we were leaving and one of the kitchen staff was also using the facilities. Unfortunately he did not use all of the facilities (hand washing) that were available.

I went to this bar back in March for a friend's birthday. We had a nice time - drinks were good and we had burgers that were pretty good. To be honest we probably drank slightly too much (which goes some way towards explaining the story below) so there was nothing I'd probably have remembered in particular to say about the bar one way or the other.

Came here to watch the world cup. Had table service and the menu/food was decent. Drinks a little pricey but overall a nice bar and worth a visit after work.

We had a party this week at the Otherist which we really enjoyed. First of all, the decor makes the place look cosy, a lot of attention paid to details. It is a bit posh yet affordable. We had 3 of the sharing platters and everything was absolutely delicious, also the size was very appropriate as it was enough for everyone. For the whole evening Migle took care of us, and I must say that the service was very very good as she was friendly and funny, we really got along, also she gave us recommendations on drinks and food, whenever we were running out of something, the girl would ask if we wanted more. She was very efficient and kept everything nice and clean. Only the best compliments for the place so far, will come back.

Popped in with my daughter for a glass of wine and a light bite. Friendly service, good wine, tasty bar snacks but nothing exceptional. The place had a cosy, warm atmosphere and that was probably its best feature. I have no criticisms but nothing made me think - Oh I must go back this is lovely.

Met friends here for drinks before dinner. There is a large bar area with booths to sit at and the whole vibe is very comfortable. The drinks were reasonable and the service was excellent.

We came here for lunch and the setting of the restaurant was lovely, the staff were friendly and really liked the seating with the fur throws on the chairs. I had the duck flatbread and my friend the fish pie. We were both really impressed, really big portion sizes, the duck had lovely flavours to it. At the end they gave you a present with the most amazing chocolate brownie in. Will deffinately be returning

My husband suggested The Otherist for lunch as it was close to his office. We hadn't booked but this was no problem for them and they found us a table. The interior was great with high tables as well as normal ones. Service was efficient and friendly. We chose to take our time over lunch but I would expect the staff would happily serve you as quickly as you would like. The starter scotch egg was superb. Would also highly recommend the duck salad I had.

I used to really enjoy eating at the otherist because they had an amazing flatbread for vegetarians. I recently recommended that a colleague and I go there for lunch however the vegetarian options had changed with majority of the options consisting of butternut squash. As I am not keen on butternut squash I was left with one option. I am really disappointed that they have removed the tomato and mozzarella flatbread from their menu which provided vegetarians with a better of variety of choices.

We come here regularly as it’s opposite from our office. Food never disappoints good selection of dishes and good value for the city. Portion sizes are perfect. Service is always friendly and efficient. You can come just for drinks as well as large bar and standing area as well. The duck flatbread salad is amazing !!!!

I used to come here a lot when I worked in the City, and was sad to see it change from a Corney & Barrow to an unknown name. A few months back I went back and was happy to see that things hadn't chnaged too much. We had a good time. Fast forward to last week and after finding a table, the waiter asked if it would be a bottle of Viogner again. That's what we call service. The food offering is a bit limited, but the prices are the same as anywhere else, and, given the location, things will never be cheap.

Eat here every month or two for lunch and always consistently good food, quick service and friendly staff. Can't say any more than that.

We go here often as directly opposite my place of work.The food here is good and you don;t have to wait around for it but it is well cooked and everything is tasty.It can get a little noisy with people chatting as is a bar as well further down the restaurant but this should not spoil your experience

Following a train journey ending at Liverpool Street I walked into the city and liked the look of the venue from it's exterior. It served breakfast so I was hopeful it would be good. Unfortunately I was one of only two of us at the time so therefore the venue lacked atmosphere as it was so quiet. I could see the venue being great of an evening packed with city workers for drinks however I'm not sure it is quite established enough as a breakfast venue. I ordered coffee and the full english breakfast. The coffee was very nice and served wonderfully however the breakfast was lacking something. For such a stunning venue with a very trendy interior the breakfast appeared quite cheaply presented. All the basics present however I do feel it lacked something. Despite the great I feel it's not quite there yet as a restaurant.

The decor is great and the atmosphere very relaxed. Stopping in for brunch or coffee is lovely and I have been a number of times for coffee. I decided to try the brunch but was slightly disappointed. The staff were very unfriendly, and when they got the order wrong they made it out like it was our fault. Such a shame as the coffee was delicious!

Had lunch at The Otherist with a friend. The place was very busy but service was prompt and efficient.I ordered a chicken burger which didn't come with sides so I added onions rings at £3.50. The food was dissapointing, it was nicely presented but virtually tasteless, there was no crunch or seasoning to the chicken burger and the chicken itself was bland. The onions as well were surprisingly dull, the batter uninspired and the onions were too soft. Really not impressive, ordered a chicken and mango salad and Dad ordered a cheese burger, came out in 2 mins flat which I was worried about as how have they prepared a meal in that time. Burger was stone cold so obviously wa san old one left on the side and salad was pre packaged cubes and tasteless. Complained which they took well and gave discount but shocked how with such completion in the city, how could they get it so wrong!! The lady came over after and before my Dad could check the bill she tapped his card on the machine. Just not impressive!

The perfect spot for a relaxing coffee or brunch! Not far from Bank station this place seems like a world away from everything. You step inside to lovely decor. The coffee is great and very tasty. If you are looking for a place to relax stop by here

Went to the Otherist for a company event where we had a private here for the whole evening. Everything was great- the food / drinks, the organisation and the staff. I was impressed it wasn't one of those bars where they overlook the food and focus on the drinks only- in the Otherist the food is actually delicious! Very pleased with everything about this venue and highly recommend.

Enjoyed a lovely Friday lunch here last week. Menu was ample, plenty to choose from, we had the squid, chicken satay, sirloin and fish pie and desserts and wines, we really enjoyed our meal and would come here again. Staff were really friendly and happy to accomodate some changes to the desserts. Chairs are very cosy with blankets lying around, really nice looking restaurant on the outside, and it does feel like you are not in the hustle bustle of the city! 3 courses and wines, £95.00. I did notice that there was no set menu present or mentioned... as advertised on the website.

Went to this place for dinner on a Thursday night - the location was good and the decor seemed interesting. The place was noisy when we came in but during the hour we were there it became intolerable. The bar and restaurant areas are slightly separated but not enough to prevent us having to scream at each other to be heard. There came a point when even that was not enough - there was just no point in trying to overcome the noise. The food was lukewarm and average-minus. The service was pretty awful too - sluggish and apathetic. The waitress tried to get us to add an extra tip even though service was already included in the bill (by printing a slip that invites you to add the tip as an extra). A high price tag for a painful experience. There is a lovely wine bar just across the street though...!

From the moment we walked in to the time we had to leave we all had the time of our life. The staff were so attentive and professional. We never had an empty glass. Our amazing meal was served by lovely waiter who made our day. All of this adventure was overseen by most professional and entertaining manager ever. Overall a great experience. We had dinner here last week and were really impressed. Firstly, by the warm welcome from a member of staff by the name of Krisztian. He greeted us and took us to our table. Immediately we knew we were going to have a lovely evening. The menu was varied, and they were able to accommodate my special dietary requests. Food and drink both fairly priced for a central London menu. I have tried a few of the other D&M bars and been impressed by them all. This one though really stands out as a warm and friendly place to relax and unwind in the City.

I had lunch here with a friend, I like the atmosphere and decor of this place. The service was fairly prompt for a busy lunch hour. However its a shame the food is not better value for money. Having ordered a Wagyu burger for £13.75 which came without chips or even a salad, this was a really average burger and then to pay £4.50 on top for fries (ridiculously over priced) - I understand this is the city but that's a bit of joke. I would be interested to come back in the evening and try the cocktails but I wouldn't be eating lunch here again unless the menu was reconsidered.

Service was attentive and the place is clean and very well fitted out.I ordered sausages and mash for £10.50 (plus a service charge) and got three very ordinary sausages served on a small amount of mashed potato. If I had wanted a side of green beans it was £3 extra.

My first visit here since it converted from a Corney & Barrow wine bar which I had been to on a few occasions. I like the change in decor, the breakfast menu and the welcoming blankets and hot water bottles on offer - nice touch. Seemed more welcoming than I remember.I came for lunch with a colleague and we both enjoyed the choice of food - not extensive but enough to pick from when you haven't got all afternoon. Grilled salmon with a fresh green salad was fine. Crispy squid and a scotch egg were both nice starters. It's close to my office and therefore convenient so I will be back.

We were making our way from Liverpool Street Station to Cannon St. after a very early flight when we came upon this restaurant and decided to stop in for breakfast. It exuded a warm, comfortable atmosphere, and we were not disappointed. The breakfast was excellent and we were very pleased with a brilliant start to our stay in London.

Judged by it looks, the restaurant, which is located in the City, seems above-average. However, both the food and the staff were not living up to the expectations. The steak was rather dry and chewy, and the staff seemed a bit chaotic and not very approachable and welcoming. It wasn't all bad but I would eat here again, unless future reviews show serious improvement.

Fresh decor and attentive staff but something missing compared to its peers. Perhaps it was the limited menu, especially desserts or the long and narrow set up of tables which gave it more of a wine bar feel than a cosy restaurant. No doubt, a few months settling in time will refine this well known brand.

Six of us for a business lunch in the week before Christmas. We (founders of our firm) took four new employees out for lunch and did the thing we always do: ask everyone to share 1. Life growing up2. Someone who inspired me3. What I care about nowAnyway that all worked well and we got to know a lot more about each other. Only downside was the level of noise which (if you play in a rock band as I do and are going deaf) made conversation hard work. Apart from all that, it was an excellent lunch. Went straight to mains with a fabulous roast salmon with spinach and white wine sauce. And chips obviously. No dessert and no coffee though everyone else enjoyed their lattes and flat whites etc!Will go back for sure.

I sense this place is new, perhaps finding its feet.? One thing's for sure, the food is terrible. Calamari was tough and bound in a soggy crumb. The curry was the worst excuse of a curry I have ever eaten, a watery, tasteless void of a meal. Pecan pie was the best of my 3-courses, passing as an average plate. Service in fairness was good!

We were given an excellent long table for our group of 10, on a weeknight at 8.30 - well away from any others, so it felt almost like a private room, and with friendly, dedicated service. A pleasant, modern ambience, with the undoubted bonus of C&B's own wine list. The food was not ultra-sophisticated, but as we were not I. ultra-sophisticated mode this was not a problem, and the fish and chips, salmon, and burgers of different kinds hit the spot very nicely. Service a little slow, but fine when it came.

So it says it serves food from 12 noon to 9.30 pm. My daughter and I popped into this particular branch of C&B at 3.30pm. I have eaten here on many occasions and the service and food have been fine - not this time. A waitress asked us if we wanted to eat. It was not very busy. We had to ask her to come and take our order. At this point the waitress had not told us half the dishes on the menu were not available - so we ordered our first choice -sorry unavailable - we ordered our second choice - sorry unavailable - we ordered our third choice - sorry unavailable - even a simply green salad was unavailable. At no point did the waitress think to tell us what was available. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. She offered to get the manager - so I asked - why - can the manager produce the food. We got our water on the house. Such a shame as I used to like this C&B.

After drinks for 40 people with platters, quality and quantity were poor, charged through the roof for what was delivered, would not spend money there again.

I stopped by Corney & Barrow for lunch with a couple of colleagues. It looked fairly smart and business like from outside.The menu choices were pretty average, and the food itself matched. I had a steak baguette with a side of chips. Both were of an average size.Unfortunately the service was a little disappointing. The staff were both slow to take our order, and bring it to our table. If I was in the area again I'd look for other options.

Good service, expensive drinks. Nothing to complain about really - food looked good but I didn't have any.

We popped in here for a quick lunch before catching a train although we didn't mention that to the staff. The service was friendly but occasionally a little slow, however we did in the end have plenty of time to have a main and then dessert. The food was very good albeit quite expensive for what it was.
