Great customer service. The Peroni is the best pint I've had and reasonably priced. The place has a great welcoming feel and atmosphere helped by the friendly team. Must visit!

Had our meal here tonight and can honestly say it was outstanding. The place is lovely, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble but the food....it was top notch. From our starters to our mains and the kids food and ice cream was more than we expected. Would highly recommend will fill defiantly be back. Thank you for a lovely evening

Had a lovely time in this lovely friendly hotel 🎅had a train journey on the polar Express opposite 👍🎅which was fantastic for all the family 🎅👍👍then we enjoyed the rest of the night in the bar having lovely cold scoops 🍺🍺🍺and the wife on the wine 🥂🥂👍and the little one on j20's😆staff and locals were fantastic 👍enjoyed by all 👍👌🎅🍺🥂🍾🎅10/10 👍merry Christmas too all🎅🎅🎅🎅

It's a cute and nice low budget hotel. Run by very friendly staff.

Called in en route to Scotland was met by friendly staff and chose from menu scrumptious breakfast/brunch served quickly plenty of hot tea to warm us up will remember this olde worlde Hotel & recommend it

...but The Corner House nailed it big style! We travelled up in weather more suited to ships, boats & killer sharks, and we stayed nearby; a short walk brought us to The Corner House for dinner. We were made tremendously welcome by manageress & staff so we stayed for a few hours, enjoying the excellent Hancock bitter on tap (me) and splendid bottled selections (she). I had a sensational fried steak baguette, bristling with flavours- steak, mushrooms, cheese all made it in; the girlfriend thought even bigger & had sirloin steak with fantastic home made chips: in the interests of fair reviewing, I had a bit of everything. All outstanding. Ally this with competitive pricing and the fine service provided, and you have, dear readers, an unmissable winner, if you’re in the area!

We stayed here for 4 days. the room was clean, but the TV tiny! The menu was a little limited and not as good as many others. We booked two nights and then had to book two more due to a lack of availability at our next planned stop. when we came back to the hotel on the Sunday afternoon we were asked if we needed food, when we said not until the evening we were told that they don't serve food Sunday, Monday or Tuesday evenings - it would have been nice to have been told this when we booked the extra nights (Sunday and Monday) as we then had to drive out to find somewhere to eat. They did offer to heat up a ready meal from the Co-op if we went and bought it. They also ran out of cereal at breakfast.

We are on our way to a wedding in Durham and decided to stop overnight before getting to the wedding venue, when we came across this very nice hotel. The staff and everyone there were so welcoming and friendly. The hotel is very clean and bright and the atmosphere was brilliant. Our room was very very good and we had a great nights sleep after a long drive from Weston-super-Mare. The breakfast in the morning was superb and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We would like to say a very BIG thank you to everyone for their excellent and friendly service.

Very clean lovely food very welcoming staff

Went in for Sunday lunch. Had no idea what to expect but it was brilliant. It came really quickly despite the fact that we were a big group. It was terrific quality, big portions and very reasonably priced. Black Sheep beer as well. Really friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Visited for a meal and the food was very good and huge portions! Would recommend the "pub pie", really yummy. The basket food on offer is also great and very good value for money. Service left a little bit to be desired, staff didnt check everything was ok, plates were taken away while we were still picking and we werent offered dessert/coffee. Overall a good visit though and will be back.

Me and my partner went in this Sunday for a meal. It was genuinely the most amazing food we’ve had and beautifully presented . It was very good value too, The pub itself is immaculate, the staff are friendly and well organised and the larger was exactly as it should be, cold and refreshing!! I only wish we didn’t live so close to the corner house because I’d love to stay a night there as it’s such a lovely atmosphere and environment. An absolute credit to Sandra who runs the corner house hotel!! We will be back soon for more great food and drinks!

Visited on a busy Saturday night and ordered the Ribeye Steak special (£13.95 -fantastic value) and was blown away. We didn’t have to wait long for our food and when it arrived the steak was cooked to perfection. I asked for mine rare and was not disappointed. The steak, which melted in the mouth, came with chips, mushroom and tomato. Not only was the food excellent but the service was fantastic also. They really can’t do enough for you. If you have been before you need to return to try the new menu, it is not only great value but the quality of the food is exceptional.

Restaurant very busy when we were there, and we eat in the bar, our choice! Food was good as was the service.

Didn't know it was a pub as well! My room above the bar. Could hear all voices and boom boom bass of music. I didn't even stay. Walked out and booked somewhere else. Didn't even bother trying to get refund.

Massive portions at reasonable prices. Good home cooked simple food. They have a curry night every Thursday which is well thought of though we didn’t have. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Called here for Sunday dinner staff great but dinner not that good I'm sure my yorkshire pudding had been microwaved it was rock hard

Had an evening meal and breakfast here. Evening meal was cooked fresh with steamed veg and was fantastic and we just about managed to eat it all. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble.

Absolute pleasure to go into the staff and clientel alike are always very freindly. A very good pint indeed will definately return!!!!

Ok but could hear the music from downstairs

We were part of a coach party so the service was very slow. Had to take food away wrapped in serviettes!

Food good friendly atmosphere nice staff and a good pint.

Had breakfast and an amazing dinner here. Steak and ale pie and their gravy is to die for. Proper home cooked comfort food with perfectly cooked chunky chips and fresh vegetables. Massive portion of deliciousness. My partner had lasagne which he thoroughly enjoyed and both kids had beautiful fish and chips. Amazing value for money and served with a smile. Breakfast the following morning was cooked perfectly. We couldn't fault a thing. Highly recommend this little gem in leeming bar.

Very nice place to stop clean and staff very friendly

Stayed for 1 night, when visiting the Wensleydale Railway. What a gem! A warm welcome; and friendly service throughout the short stay. Delightfully decorated, immaculately maintained, and spotlessly clean. A wonderful night's sleep in a very comfortable and well-appointed room. A pleasant bar, with sensible prices; and a delicious, generous, breakfast. If I'm in the area again, I would certainly stay here. Thank you to all at Corner House.

Good lunches, have the basket of chips, it's a must have, they are delicious.

3rd stay now and I never write rewiews but this place is so good it deserves one. Sandra the boss is just so friendly and nothing you ask is to much trouble. Food is Brill, rooms are spotless and the bar is well stocked with great beer. Can't wait for next year many thanks.

Another great stopping off place. Comfortable, welcoming and great food

This was a quick visit to the hotel. I was travelling by coach and we had to swap over coaches, so it was very rushed. Had only pint and half of Guinness for £5.20. Very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had the steak and ale pie, a real treat, very meaty. The staff really looked after us. Sadly, no room left for a sweet!!!!!!!!

Fantastic pub and restaurant worth a visit

We stayed for b&b only. But what a great hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. The staff where very friendly and polite. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. There is ample of parking just across the road. And for the railway lovers the Wensleydale railway is just across the road.

Une carte courte mais variée avec des plats typiques. Des assiettes bien garnies, vin ou bière à gogo. Assurément un moment de vie qui vous laissera de bons souvenirs.

Room was very noisy, noise from other guest's doors slamming and traffic. Wifi and phone signal non existences.

My wife & I visit the pub quite regularly as "villagers" it is our CHOSEN venue over the other option.

I have been to the Corner House on several occasions with family and friends. It has a lovely relaxing atmosphere you are always greeted with a friendly hello. We have eaten on several occasions and the food is always really tasty. I haven’t stayed myself as I am local but friends have and have the rooms and very comfortable and breakfast is really good as well. Sandra helped me organise my partner's surprise birthday party which again went very smoothly thanks to all the staffs hard work. A gem of a pub which you should really try.

Lovely little hotel pub. Rooms are warm comfortable and nicely decorated. Pub is well situated for the North Yorkshire Dales close to the A1 in Leeming Bar. Have stayed twice now staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Recommend it to anyone. And would stay again.

We were recommended to the Corner House by the receptionist at our hotel locally and had a really great evening meal (2 adults and a 7 year old). The menu was varied with good options for our daughter. The service was friendly and prompt and the whole place had a really nice atmosphere. We'd definitely eat there again if in the area.

This is a pleasant, homely cafe with good home-made food and friendly staff. I had an excellent portion of soup with some really nice bread. Lochs and Glens coaches use this so it can become congested but they do seem to know when the coaches are due and lay on extra staff.

Some friends and I chose this place to meet on a Tuesday evening for a drink and a meal, as it was central and the website advertised "food served 5 till 9 every day except Wednesday". After walking in and getting some dirty looks from what I can only assume were regulars, the woman behind the bar looked very put out that I required service. Turns out they don't serve food on Tuesdays, no explanation given. We then had to endure a couple of hours of poor service with a bad attitude, finished off perfectly by the bar woman taking the mick out of us to her regulars. A horrible experience I recommend you avoid at all costs.

Rooms are ok, beds are comfortable with shower facilities provided. Had to phone the landlady to let her know of my arrival, no parking provided, had to use the railway station to leave the car. Steps leading up to rooms were steep. No evening meals provided on Tuesday's and Wednesday's so overall not a very good first impression.

Restaurant is pristine even the toilets were spotless although the bar was busy. Service a bit slow but food arrived was very hot and freshly cooked to order. Menu is standard pub grub so not very exciting. Staff very pleasant but should have been a couple more people on duty.

Visited here for Sunday lunch....service was friendly and very professional......and the lunch was to die for!...we'll definitely be back!

Came in with my other half to eat we love the food there but the chef was ill so we made alternative plans with a drink, the sparkler in my partners glass was dead so his pint went flat pretty quickly, mine tasted awful as somebody who works behind a bar myself I recognised the taste of line cleaner. I left mine and my partner tried it before I took it back to the bar it was defiantly line cleaner, I placed the glasses on the bar and very politely and away from other customers said that the pint was off so the bar staff could deal with it before the next customer, the lady behind the bar went nuts, whilst sneering she said "Well your wrong because I cleaned the lines last night" - this was so loud several other locals looked around - picked up the glasses mine still nearly full, shot me a disgusting look and stormed off to the other side of the bar. Abysmal customer service, to not even try it to see what the issue was or to try and resolve the issue, I am outraged I have never in any public place been treated so badly especially not by staff and made to feel so small, I will certainly not be coming back in which is a shame, the lady herself was the dark medium haired lady wearing colourful clothing.

Very nice place and lovely meals

My wife and I and another retired couple visited for lunch enjoyed it so much that we went back the next week, yesterday. The lamb hot pot and the chicken dish we have all had on one or other occasion and thoroughly recommend.

Unexpected pleasure when on return journey on a Lochs and Glens holiday. Stopped here and had Delicious home made food served very efficiently.

A very stressful expensive experience! Slow and rude service. Over 20 mins just for a drink to arrive. Brought the wrong sandwich to the table leaving the chips to go cold. Three triangle sandwiches and no coleslaw on my mum's plate 4 sandwiches on mine. Forgot to bring cutlery and napkin. Mayonnaise pot delivered to our table, supposed to be the next table. A joke! Lochs and Glens need to rethink their rest stops as they clearly can't cope with many at time!

We stopped here for a night on our way to stay in York. Lovely staff, fantastic bed, room had everything we needed too. We had dinner in the restaurant and It was a good mix of choices for meat eaters and veggies and really nice and fresh. Breakfast was filling and tasty too. A good stop on our Road trip

Second time we have eaten here but first time for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointedly! A good choice and plenty of it. Six happy customers. Well worth it. Polite staff and good service.

One poor lad rushing round trying to cope with two sides of the bar eating areas, with no obvious help from the proprietor behind the bar, who told me to sit and a menu and drinks order would brought and taken, 20 minutes later I went back to the bar to ask for a menu!!!! The food was generic, and when the lad finally got to me the service was good.

I stayed in this hotel one night for business and thought it was fantastic. The room was well set out, ample toiletries and everything you would need for a night or two. The room also had a fan so I did not need to ask for one.

We stopped here twice on our way to Scotland with Lochs and Glens. Although it is certainly preferable to a motorway service station. We were not impressed with the Sunday dinner we ate on the way home. Although the restaurant had plenty of notice as to how many dinners to serve and when we were arriving, the service was slow and we had to rush our dinner - remember we only had an hours stopover. The dinner I received was only lukewarm. I didn't have time to send it back. The portions were not that brilliant either. My wife did not think that she had much chicken on her plate. We thought that the price, a tenner including a hot or cold drink (not alcoholic) was a bit steep.

We went here for a short lunch break organised for our coach trip. We had very good food in pleasant surroundings. The prices were reasonable and we were amazed at the efficiency of the service as 50 plus people were served in what was a very brief time. Would try this again if we are in the area.

The food was wonderful. Lovely home cooked food with attentive staff and lovely choice. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. I had the mushroom and pepper stroganoff and it was delicious.

Having stayed overnight at The Corner House recently I chose to break a long car journey with dinner in the restaurant. Less than a mile off the A1M and much, much nicer than motorway services. Food was beautifully cooked (chips were perfect!). Highly recommended.
