Came out for a meal the other night and had pre booked it but probably didn't need to as we were the the only ones in at the time so we were given the option of where to sit so decided on the lounge meal was the lovely and reasonably priced the only downside and is only cause where we sat was the loudness of the two"local drunks" in the public bar next door getting louder as the night went on if you prefer a peaceful mood to have a meal best sit in the restaurant room opposite the lounge

Visited earlier this evening for a family dinner. Service was excellent, as was the delicious food. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for fantastic value for money in a welcoming environment.

Unfortunately The Corner Hotel is completely going downhill. No longer serves meals. Chef left. Can't keep staff. The food that was served previously was outstanding but with the departure of staff will no longer have the same culinary notoriety that it is had for years. Place has declined dramatically

For number 1 of Carnoustie restaurants, this was a bit of a disappointment. Service was really good and price very reasonable but the food was pretty basic and showed a lack of imagination

This is a hidden gem. The chef cooks each meal freshly. No frozen microwaves. Excellent food, beautifully cooked, served piping hot. Very friendly, accommodating and attentive staff.

Went here for dinner as it was dog friendly. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was basic pub grub and priced accordingly.

We arrived just after the dining room had closed and was expecting to be turned away, however the chef was still in the kitchen and said he would be more than happy to stay on for us (2 adults, 2 children) if we were happy to eat in the Lounge. The kids portions were huge (I'm sure there were 6 eggs in the omellete!) and they were even asked if they wanted veggies with their meals - fish and chips with a side order of carrots is a new one on me. The food was definitely cooked to order with fresh ingredients. We're back in the area this week and have made this a priority visit for one of our suppers. Quality food and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

Menu is very simple but good selection of snacks and main courses. Ordering was very easy and you could tell it was cooked to order. It was piping hot and great portion sizes too😊. We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast every day as well. Good Full Scottish with tea/toast/fruit juices etc. Also had eggs benedict/omelettes too. Overall, the food experience was excellent.

Our weekly visit to the Corner hotel restaurant was cancelled due to Self isolation I contacted the hotel for a take away meal and a delivery. because of restrictions on movement. The standard of presentation and food was what we would have received in the restaurant. to save additional costs delivery was done by Simon New Manager Karen and Simon the new management team are setting high standards to what was already exceptional standards many thanks for the excellent service and hospitality

We had a family meal here last Sat afternoon and the food was fantastic, brilliant portions for the price plus great service. We are already planning our second outing to the Corner as we were here for lunch and want to go back! Lovely room we had our meal in as well plus the waitress was friendly but not imposing. Brilliant :)

Hotel taken over by Karen and Simon four weeks ago. I’ve had two excellent meals there cooked by Helen. Sunday beef dinner is to die for! Friendly and attentive people in a welcoming hotel.

What a little gem , so glad our holiday accommodation recommended the Corner Hotel for dinner . The chicken and rice soup was the best I have tasted . My husband had steak and I chose chicken tikka masala , both were so tasty . Staff were all very friendly. Can’t wait to return next time we are on holiday .

Outside looks a bit off putting but don’t be deterred. Honest good food well cooked with great service and very friendly. Ask for the specials, we didn’t and we think we missed out. Star of the show was Cullen Skink, delicious.

Wow what a treat! The food here is simply divine. Great portions, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. My favourite on the menu was the chicken tikka which was bursting with flavour and the fish and chips, the fish was perfectly cooked and just melted away in my mouth. Seriously this is the best place to eat in Carnoustie. Try it out and make your own mind up. Helen the chef was lovely and very helpful. I had the pleasure of speaking to her on several occasions and she is a great asset to the hotel. Very complimentary of her workplace and employer. It’s refreshing to hear. I will definitely be back, thank you for the great experience.

Had a great meal here. The young lady was very helpful and recommended we order a small Cullen slink because it is so filling. So glad she suggested this. We had the steak pie and Mac n cheese and could not fault either. Top marks for food and service. Covid regs were well adhered to so felt quite safe. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a freshly cooked meal on our recent breakaway. Excellent service, food choices were varied & our meals tasty, freshly cooked & great portions. Service was 1st class. Really friendly & welcoming. We sat in the dining room & moved through to the bar with our drinks.Its doggy friendly & relaxed.All safety practices in place & we would recommend & return on our next trip.

The hotel isn’t grand, but is very comfortable. The owner was away when we visited, but the young lady behind the bar, and the chef in the kitchen, were both amazing. Service was great and food was fantastic. Thank you.

We just stopped for the one night's stay at this hotel where we found the staff to be most welcoming and friendly. Extremely friendly atmosphere with fantastic food. The room was very spacious and clean. All in all, great value for money.

All staff were very friendly, from waitress to the chef. Food was very tasty, plentiful and well priced. Do not be put off by the lounge as dining room is very nice. Highly recommended.

Visited the Corner Hotel for a Christmas Menu Meal and it was fantastic. The trio of seafood starter was possibly the best starter I have ever eaten! Main course was fantastic and the quantity of potatoes and veg was excellent. Desert was also extremely good as was service and definitely very good value for money. We had our 11 month old son with us and he had a great time too! Definitely be back and definitely recommend.

Initial impressions driving past were not fantastic, but very glad we decided to give it a go. Ate in the back dining room which is clean, comfortable with few frills - but who needs them ? Delightful attentive service. It was hard to choose what to have from a menu full of crowd pleasing dishes. Everything we had was excellent. I had possibly the best Cullen Skink I have tasted - full of fish and flavour but without undue cream or heavyness. I also had the fish and chips which were textbook perfect. Mr G had a steak and ale pie which he also pronounced one of the best he has had ( and he has had a lot) No room for a dessert but I bet they are great. What made it all even better was the fantastic value of the prices - wish we lived nearer !

Stayed here for a wee night away as it was our 19th wedding anniversary. As soon as we arrived, our welcome was lovely.Checked in no problem and spoke to 2 staff members, both of whom were really nice and friendly. Stayed in room 10, right at the top, with a bay window to look out onto the main street.Room had a bath which I personally prefer. Didn't eat dinner there , which I'm now quite disappointed at , as the breakfast was superb!! Even if you only had the continental breakfast, it would have been enough, so much choice and the fruit was so fresh. To top it off, when we got in from our wanders on the Saturday night , there was a chilled bottle of prosecco and glasses waiting for us. Cant fault The Corner Hotel and will define back , hopefully soon!!!

A great place to stay the food is exceptional and you couldn't meet a nicer person then carol who runs the place some people on here need to get a life how can you comment if you just walk out hopefully I will be back next year as I love the place and my little dog love's it too thanks again carol Rodney Hemingway

Best food in the town and staff very friendly, went in off the street and just had a short wait till are food was ready, then seated in the restaurant part of the botel.

I usually order fish and chips when lunching with friends, so, have much to compare with. The Corners fish has been the best by far that I`ve had in a long time !! Kaitlin(possibly the wrong spelling) the young waitress who served us was cheery and efficient deffo in the right job.

Stayed here during the British Girls Open Golf Championship at Panmure. The hotel was not fancy but was very clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Staff took an interest in how the girls staying there were doing in competition and offered packed lunches and late dinners if needed. The food was good and the bar had a busy, friendly atmosphere. It was close to the golf club and offered drying facilities which thankfully we didn't need. A perfect base for golfers.

Friendly clean hotel. Food was brilliant best we have had in a hotel. Really enjoyed our stay. Will stay again when in Carnoustie.

I just love visiting for food. Service was superb, very pleasant waitress/barmaid. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Food was fabulous. Portion size is perfect. Dining room is lovely. Calm environment.

My wife and I went to The Corner for a meal last weekend. The food was simply outstanding value for money. Service was first class . Neither of us could manage a desert. Brilliant. Will definitely be back

Myself and a friend stayed a couple of nights during a golf trip and really enjoyed the food which was freshly cooked to order and could not be faulted at all. The chef and staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was a trouble to them. Highly recommended, excellent value for money and somewhere I would definitely go again. Top marks.

Decided to walk here from Monifieth for lunch. Nice welcome from friendly and helpful staff. Generous portion size and all freshly cooked. Good choices available too. Will do that again! Highly recommended.

Wow what a selection of cakes and treats! Kind of wish I hadn't ate so many of the delicious sandwiches so I could have fitted more cakes in!

The food here is exactly what is stated on the menu. Good,hearty portions of properly cooked food. We had the steak pie, fish and chips and steaks. The meat was very good quality, no fat and the mushrooms with the steak were so good. The staff are friendly, we didn't wait long for our meals and we will definately be back.

returned for another long overdue visit. welcoming staff and comfortable surrounding. it is clean and tidy. the food is absolutely outstanding. Cullen skink is lovely and chicken supreme is to die for. just as we remembered. who ever is cooking knows exactly what they are doing. we were advised of a wait as our chicken was to be cooked from scratch. well worth the wait though.

We booked for the restaurant, but ended up enjoying a gab with the locals and ate in the Lounge. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly and the food was delicious!

Just been to Corner Hotel for evening meal, was reallllllly good, hubby and I had Cullen Skink to start, was brilliant! Very filling. Chef is actually from Cullen! Says it all. Battered fish and chips was just as good, very happy and friendly staff too, all in all a very good! Will return if visiting the area again, thanks to all.

Stopped here after reading the reviews and we weren't disappointed! Mum daughter was slightly put off thinking we were eating in the pub lounge, but as soon as we were taken through to the dining room that all changed. We had Garlic bread to start, then chicken supreme, Mac n cheese and breaded plaice, finished off with chocolate fudge cake and Apple pie and ice cream. The food was lovely. The atmosphere, chilled and the staff so polite, welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back if we pass through here again!

We had an excellent meal in here last week when on a short break to Carnoustie. We were a group of 7 and no-one was disappointed. The Chicken supreme was excellent and the staff were very attentive and efficient. My son had a dairy allergy and the chef came through to speak to him personally to ensure he could get what he wanted. Will definitely be back on our next visit.

While staying in Carnoustie, my wife and I booked a table here last night, amazing food and really friendly service. I had the garlic mushrooms followed by chicken supreme, while my wife had Cullen Skink followed by mac and cheese. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection, the chef, Helen, popped out make sure everything was ok and the young waitress was very helpfull. nothing too much trouble.

Would definitely recommend a visit to The Corner Hotel Carnoustie, the food was was superb, all freshly cooked to order, and the portions were more than adequate. The cream de resistance was the cheese board OMG, 38 different cheese, you certainly get spoiled here. The staff friendly and very efficient, if you have not been before get yourself along to the corner hotel, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed.

I have eaten here on a few occasions and have never been disappointed - service is excellent - the staff are very friendly and the food is very good. Highly recommended.

My last review missed this. Helen the chef made sure my mum had food in her room after a long day of travel. The steak pie was the Best!! Fish and chips authentic, the dessert crumble made the night. I will fly back from wine country in Sonoma county just for this entire experience gain Cheers! anna

Lovely friendly welcome, was made to feel right at home, all the locals in the bar very friendly too. Meals were spot and breakfast was spot on too, set you up for the full day.

We were staying at the hotel (recommend) and ate dinner there. I had Cullen Skink (Scottish fish chowder). It is my favorite soup so i had it many times during our three week stay, and this was probably the best. It is an intimate restaurant and very relaxing.

We booked a room at the last minute at the this hotel and arrived in the dark.

We called in here on a Monday night. We had the lounge and the restaurant to ourselves. The food was superb, good helpings and nicely cooked. Service was excellent.

Visited on Saturday evening and cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Such friendly, welcoming staff and despite our late arrival the waiting staff and chef could not be more accommodating. Excellent, hearty menu and a wide range of gluten free options. Nothing was too much for the staff. If returning to Carnoustie I would not even consider eating anywhere else.

If you are lucky enough to stay at the hotel you will enjoy the best breakfast selection on the planet. The dinner meals are professionally prepared, plated and are very tasty large portions. The staff is second to none, they will go out of their way to ensure that you have great service and all amenities met. Super super friendly staff all around.

Visited on 17/08/18 slightly disappointed with the prawn platter, but the ribeye steaks my husband and grandson had were fab no steak knife required just melted in your mouth, my garandaughter had the scampi which she said were fab and I couldn't fault the steak pie.

夕方2時でも人多いし待ち時間も長かったので要注意 20人ぐらいのグループ スコットランド人の若者が酔っ払ってて少し騒がしかったです。 お料理は典型的なイギリス料理で大雑把というか味のしない料理でした(フライトポテトが一番美味しかった) カクテルメニューなど期待してましたが ドリンクメニューはなしでほとんどの人がビール飲んでました。となりにバーがあったので言えば作ってもらえるのだと思います。

We had one of the best meals and experiences ever at the Corner Hotel Restaurant. My husband and I both decided on the rib-eye steak dinner which was absolutely delicious. The amount of food we were served was not to be believed and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The wait staff were welcoming and friendly adding to an overall great experience.

We were in Carnoustie for the Open Golf. We had booked a table on the Wednesday before the start of the championship after reading good reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. We had lovely meals and the service from all the staff was really friendly. It was also nice of the chef to come around and ensure we were happy with our food. We booked again for the Sunday evening and again were not disappointed. The lamb main course was especially good.

Local community feel and atmosphere, freshly made and localy sourced food. Generous but well priced portions. Would highly recommend!

Standards at the Corner Hotel never slip. Each time we have stayed here has been excellent. I believe they rely on repeat business for the bulk of their bookings and I can see why. And the breakfast is to die for.

Had a couple of nights here. Although from outside it looks dated, the room was comfortable, the staff were excellent, and the breakfasts were a-m-a-z-I-n-g. We took along our wee dog, and it was treated like royalty. Give it a try, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

First reviewed 6 years ago and glad to say the quality and cost of the meals are still exceptional. We had the gluten free Haddock + chips which was tasty and fresh, the gammon steak which was nicely cooked. Staff are as friendly as ever. The prices are very good and are very reasonable for the quality of the meals. Highly recommended.

Was at the corner hotel on Sunday night for a wee treat had the roast beef dinner was to die for mash potato baby potatoes and roast carrots and broccoli and lovely Yorkshire puddings was really busy but the food arrived very quickly and hot waitress was very friendly and nothing was a problem will definitely be back

Stayed for one night .made to feel extremely welcome by the staff and the locals in the main bar. Food was excellent .rooms were spotless.our wee dog was well made a fuss off by the staff and regulars .would definitely recommend.

We had booked this hotel for lunch to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. This is where their wedding reception had been held, and due to the lovely reviews they had on trip advisor we thought this would be the ideal place to celebrate.

All were excellent. Free parking behind. Polite quick checkin Modern room was a surprise in an older, but well maintained hotel. Locals and staff made the pre dinner pub experience fun and memorable. Restaurant..The chicken mushroom plate, and the beef stirfry were the 2 best...

Well back again and a great meal once more, had some older members and they got the elder portions which they found the right amount for them. The roast beef and yorkshire pudddings were cooked to perfection with roast,boiled and mashed potatoes and mixed veg...

We had fish and chips and Cajun chicken. Two nice pints, food was nice, service was really good and price not bad at all. Cannot complain.

Late Xmas celebration meal for 18, only two courses but food was great and plenty of it, everyone had a good time and staff very attentive.

We managed to get a late booking for a table for dinner. We were served very quickly and efficiently and the food was lovely and very reasonable priced. Portions were big so much so we couldn’t handle the pudding! Staff were very friendly and I would recommend if you were looking for good decent pub food.

This place has also been refurbished since I was here last.

Excellent meal on Christmas Eve, 7 diners all extremely pleased, I had lamb and it was to die for roll on my next visit.

Visited Corner Hotel restaurant after hearing lots of local recommendations. We weren't disappointed. The food is made fresh so takes a wee while to arrive, but well worth it. I ordered a medium sirloin steak and asked for a steak knife - I was told I wouldn't need it and they were right - tender, perfectly cooked and with all the trimmings. Very reasonable prices as well, we shall be back again.

We stop at the Corner restaurant every time we're in Carnoustie. The food is ace and you get great portions. The workers are always friendly and up for a good local chat. They make you feel so welcomed.

Carol and staff are wonderful travelled for 70th party and always made welcome my brother freqents this hotel most days of his life to play pool and he is treated like a king friendly kind peeps

Had a really nice meal here, fresh food and plenty of it! Really nice staff, an all round excellent experience. Surroundings could perhaps do with a little modernisation, but that's a very minor issue. This is a place worth recommending.

Eventually returned to Corner Hotel for something to eat - and despite the time gap from last being here - the food is still first rate...........................hubby and I had Breaded Haddock and Chips - and I have to say - WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED - the level of quality was still as high as on previous visits...............A lot of work has been done on the interiors - and it looks lovely..................please keep it up Carol and Irene - till we get back again - hopefully not as long as last time......................

Last reviewed The Corner in 2014. Three years on the standard is as high as at my first visit. The best steak I've ever tasted; cut like butter; no need for a steak knife. The accompaniments equally as flavourful and generous. Price is also very reasonable. Complementing the excellent food is the consistently brilliant service. Staff members are, without exception, friendly, attentive and focused on ensuring the best experience for customers. One of the very few places where it can be truthfully claimed that 'customer is king'. As before, cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.

First time at the restaurant and it won't be our last. Fantastic homemade food and friendly staff. I had the steak pie and it was so tasty and the macaroni cheese was one of the best according to my other half. A wee gem of a place. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. See you guys again.

We were staying at the Carnoustie Hotel and passed this when out for a stroll. We popped in for dinner and it was fabulous. The girl serving was great and we would look at staying here next time. The stir fried beef was terrific, real home cooking, well done guys.

From when we entered this place until we left the service was amazing, the menu was good pub food so if that is what you are wanting you wont go wrong from coming here. We shared a Cajun chicken starter which was very tasty and full of spices and we both plumped for the steak pie which again the presentation was great, puff pastry topping was one of the best we had seen for a while packed full of beef and great value for money. Finally we had a dog with us and again from the start when we entered the dog was offered water, treats and was made to feel very welcome again a nice feeling.

Stayed at another hotel but popped in for lunch, board outside states meals being served but bar staff stated chef was away for a couple of hours so no food available. thankfully as don't think we would have enjoyed anyway. Needs a massive refit

Had a lovely meal here on Sunday - My girlfriend Gill (fae Dundee) has traveled through out the world and eaten in some expensive establishments including Raffles and the Ritz(and she never gets bored of telling me) but says this is still one of her favorite eateries the staff are very friendly and the food is ''bang tidy'' i had steak pie and Gill had macaroni ...Thank you to everyone at the Corner - will see you again soon - Anthony (from Perth)- Gill (Fae Dundee x)

When we arrived at the hotel we were made very welcome. Staff here are first class and extremely helpful. Food is fantastic and the breakfast second to none. Room was well decorated and beds comfortable with nice linen. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Well priced.Thank you.
