Core Bar in City of London, Westminster

Has potential to be a nice bar but the bouncers let the place down by picking and choosing who they let in, and will be the reason that I will not return

We were a party of over 30 decent people, spending a good amount of money but management just decided to close at 10pm on a Friday! That was horrible considering that everything was booked in advance! Anyone should consider choosing a different place!

Great spot for a business after work event with decent food and your own dj but was spoilt a bit by over zealous door staff….

Recently came to Core bar for the first time attending a friends birthday celebrations and it was the best night I’ve had in ages from start to finish! The atmosphere was electric and the staff were great, we will definitely be re visiting Core bar! Thanks to the team and management

Visited and subsequently booked & paid deposit for a 21st birthday. Three weeks before the event, we get a call to say it’s been ‘mistakenly’ double booked (*read: better offer- apparently the other booking wanted the whole bar rather than just a section). Person dealing with it did not return my calls. Offered an unsuitable venue nearby and a free lunch- neither of which were of any use to us when we only had three weeks to find another venue. Had already sent the invitations out! Absolute clowns.

I went yesterday there with some friends and colleagues and I we were amazed of the great atmosphere. The bar downstairs is great and the staff is super friendly! We definitely will go again next week!

The drinks fast were super tasty and the food was on point I would recommend this venue as both a place to go for a good time and also great as a great venue for office parties. The venue also has a good selection of music that will get you moving and the staff and service is exactly what you need.

I had my husbands surprise 40th here. I am so glad I chose this venue. It was easy to get to the staff were amazing the canapes wer so delicious and the DJ Trevor he smashed it.It was the perfect surprise. Emanuela was so helpful she helped me choose the best venue. Best bar by far!

I brought my new business partner here for a chilled drink and meeting last week, having never been to Core bar before I was unsure what to expect but this bar was perfect! Drink prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was lovely. The staff were great and the manager made the visit feel perfectly tailored to our spontaneous visit and fairly short meeting! Will definitely be returning and definitely recommend!

Amazing Christmas do for work. Staff were amazing and made us feel right at home, especially Malick! They had dance moves too!

Went here with some friends for a few bevvies after work to escape the busy London life…. Before we knew it we were taking full advantage of the 5-7 happy hour offers. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating, Shikel was hilarious! We ended up eating and I was expecting standard bar grub, the chicken looked as though it came from a 5* restaurant by the way it was displayed and tasted great!! Clearly a lot of love and passion by the staff. Definitely recommend!!

La música en el bar de arriba era extraña y los platos para compartir eran normales. Hice un evento de caridad aquí esta semana y no puedo decir lo suficiente sobre el personal y el lugar. La habitación estaba decorada de forma brillante, el personal era muy servicial y atento, y nuestros huéspedes estaban muy contentos. Todos decían que la comida también era estupenda. Antes del evento, el personal también era genial, respondía a los correos electrónicos cuando tenía preguntas. Gran ubicación también, por supuesto. Muy recomendable para cualquier evento que pueda estar planeando!

Bajé las escaleras y los guardias / personal muy antipático, después de quitarme el puente, me lo devolvieron, ignorado por el personal del bar a favor de las chicas guapas que me esperaban y, en general, me hicieron sentir muy incómodo, me dejaron sin una bebida. Cumplí 40 años en el club con unos 80 invitados y fue una fiesta. La sala era perfecta para el número de personas y con el pequeño escenario conseguimos crear un súper espectáculo y una competencia de sincronización de labios.Reservar el lugar fue muy fácil. La comunicación fluida, nada fue un problema. En la noche, el personal era muy amable y servicial. Una persona de seguridad con presencia siempre presente, vigilando y asegurándose de que la fiesta iba bien.Hemos decorado las paredes y perdón hemos dejado tal desastre. Este es un lugar muy dirigido.

Just wanted to express my infinite gratitud towards the staff at Core bar. Last Friday I made many mistakes, but it can be summarised at me missbehaving and loosing track of a bag full of expensive assets that I rejected to store in Core's cloackroomWithout any hope of getting it back, this morning (2 days after) I passed by the Core and asked to their manager who to my surprise found it and brought it back to me. The bag and everything inside was intact. It contained expensive, appealing, easy to sell assetsSo I can't really review their vibe, drinks or food quality because I remember little, but what I can absolutely say is that their ethic code and respect for their customers is OUTSTANDING

A great bar to go to for after-work drinks. With an outdoor area, an upstairs bar, and decently sized dancefloor downstairs there is a space for everything, and with good music, nice cocktails and a buzzing atmosphere until 3am you'll be sure to have a good night here

Pero me quedé muy decepcionada con el servicio especialmente para cuánto tendrá que esperar para las bebidas ordenados. Después de un tiempo de espera, me tengo que ir al bar y esperar tengo que ir al bar para ver qué está pasando con la orden. Todo lo demás está bien.

My friends and I had such a great time enjoying the bottomless brunch today!! Amazing food and great selection of drinks available for the £20pp. Our server Simone was very attentive and looked after our table very well. Definitely worth the visit!!

The best thing about this place is the staff! Very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great cocktails! If you want a good night in the city you must go to this bar. Toilets are really cool too. Special thank you to Lucy for helping us reserve a table, we had a great night!!

This is my regular spot so i thought it was about time i showed it some love on here! Me and my friends always have a fab time, and every time i walk through the door there is a great atmosphere at Core. The staff are incredibly friendly and it's great that I have formed such great relationships with a few of them, as i am a regular. Also the cocktails are 10/10!

We go to Core Bar regularly for after work drinks and they are always very welcoming. However last thursday was a work frienss leaving drinks so we decided to book.

Haber ignorado este como pensé que estaba haciendo una broma, pero me dijeron por otros colegas que nos encontramos con la misma respuesta. Si no quieren hacer cócteles después de un cierto tiempo, quizás sugiero quitar el menú de cócteles. Después de esto fuimos al bar de abajo eran fue fresco y tranquilo, no era un grupo ruidoso, pero más tarde fue aconsejado por uno de los miembros más jóvenes de nuestro grupo que se habían apoderado de un bouncer en el inodoro y acusado de drogas (que no bañarnos en todos a buscar él. De hecho, era sábado y estaba muy tranquila pensando poco antes), él entonces a la izquierda poco después junto con otros miembros del grupo como habían sido groseramente hablado por el mismo bouncer preguntando lo que el tema fue. Luego nos dirigimos a la zona del club y queria solicitar una canción, el DJ que era muy grosero conmigo y cepillado el brazo después de que él tocó para conseguir su atención. Después de lo que me dijo que era una buena noche, me dejo con un sabor amargo en la boca. No me volví.

Fui para bebidas con un par de gente de trabajo y lo pasamos muy bien. Nos las arreglamos para conseguir un par de rondas de tragos en happy hour mientras estaba en y luego conseguir bebidas era bastante fácil en el bar a pesar de lo lleno que estaba.

Yo organizado nuestro trabajo fiesta de Navidad este año y reservamos Bar core. Teníamos una zona semi-privada para 100 personas. Natalie que tratamos con nuestra reserva era genial, escucharon nuestras necesidades y se mantienen en contacto regular.

Asistieron a este bar para bebidas de navidad, una mesa reservada con gasto mínimo en pago por adelantado. A la llegada y ser llevado a nuestra mesa nos dijeron que había sido trasladado. Nos pusieron en una mesa plegable, con un banco de metal para sentarse en un rincón sucio. Este era de todo lo demás y detrás de la línea de abrigo! Cuando nos quejamos nos recibió con un personal muy desagradable que hicieron poco para ayudar y sugirió que vaya a otro sitio.

Un bel locale, molto frequentato, ottimo per aperitivo (ci sono molto piatti "da condividere" in stile texmex con nacos, alette pollo etc...). I prezzi sono altini ma siamo nel cuore di Londra.

Booked this bar in advance as we liked the menu and happy hour as well as the decor and vibe. However we decided to leave due to lack of understanding, poor value for money drinks and stressful service.

Olvidaron mencionar esto con anticipación aunque reservé en avanzada que me provocó a cambio de planes lo antes posible. No vayas de sábado ya que claramente no es como lo anuncian. Que realmente necesitan mejorar su comunicación con los sitios web de terceros.

I had my bday party here and it was brilliant.We had an area reserved and took advantage of the Happy Hour. As it was a bday we got a free bubbly.We reserved an area near the main bar, away fm dance floor. It worked really well. When we wanted to dance we went to the floor and came back to our area to catch breath.The crowd was nice and friendly. No wierdos!!! Overall it was a very good experience. Highly recommend as a party venue.

I had booked a private cocktail masterclass as part of a hen party for my daughter. There were 9 of us in the group and we had an amazing time!Jayden hosted the party. He was so friendly and entertaining. He made the whole experience so much fun! Food was good and we also had a little disco at the end.It was affordable and worth every penny. Thank you so much Jayden for making our experience fun, enjoyable and memorable!!!

Terrible experience. I have come with the group of friends on Fri 02/06 around midnight to have few drinks/ dancing/fun but the bouncer (white dude in a white shirt) separated me and few colleagues from the rest of the group claiming " you are not going in". I am usual in this place but after recent experience i will reconsider visiting this venue again. I also have a message for the manager: I like your place but please make sure your bouncers are not undercutting your revenues by not letting the customer in.

Core hosted our 40th birthday party this weekend. We were so impressed with their hospitality, organisation and general helpfulness! The club room looked amazing and the cocktails and drinks were all brilliant. They were super accommodating to everything we asked for and the party was exactly as we hoped. It is a great party venue - we would totally recommend it.

Looking for somewhere for lunch, I can highly recommend this bar. Where staff the staff are really friendly an welcoming, with a special mention for Daniel who makes you so welcome. The food is great and for a light lunch I can highly recommend the baked Camembert. All said this is a lovely bar and I highly recommend a visit.

Three of us had pre-lunch drinks here last week; the service was friendly and there were plenty of places to sit .... every table in fact except one other. I think the reason it was quiet could have been the pricing - two glasses of Prosecco and a small glass of Merlot cost over £21 !! I know this is central (ish) London, but that's pushing it a bit. We only stayed for the one.

Came to this place for lunch. Ordered a chicken ceaser salad and clearly stated with no parmesan cheese. The salad came with 4 skimpy pieces of chicken, covered in parmesan cheese and NO CEASER DRESSING on it. I haven't mentioned that the price of this salad was £12 or £14 pound!!! When I told the waitress she shrugged her shoulders and apologised, no mention of a new salad or no mention of taking money off our bill. I left the place disgusted and hungry!! grrrr not a great start to my weekend in London :(

We popped in to have drinks with my friends. Absolutely unwelcomed staff and not interested in their job. Was very slow service and it was not busy. Not coming back.

The group of three girls entered this so called bar... no greeting or smile or eye contact. 2 bartenders and 1 barmaid behind the bar. Looking bored and moving so slow that it was shocking. So finally one of the "bartenders" decided to see if we want something... with all his laziness and not wanted to serve and his facial expression said "I hate my job" he asked us what do we want? My friend ordered coffee and he made face like why are you ordering coffee... while we was waiting for him to find a cup somewhere in a back of house and make a coffee - we was looking at the cocktail menu. We ordered three cocktails... Sooooo... it took him 10 minutes to make three cocktails, I never experienced such a slow service! He was making every cocktail one by one(by the time last one was made - first one got watery) and he was dropping measures into the sink with such dramatic movements and at the end cocktails weren't that great either. Honestly, we felt like he got angry at us that we ordered cocktails. Honestly, not great experience at all, definitely won't come back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone to visit this place...

In London on a Tuesday, in need of a simple feed, but getting on for 9pm - ducked into Core, which was quiet. Beer range was good, food typically pub: we both went for the chicken schnitzel, which arrived quickly, heavily breadcrumbed and still with moisture in the white meat. A good portion of chips rounded off the plate.Looks like this place would be pulsating when full, but for a last minute, early week dinner, this worked well for us

A friend and I hired the Club room for a private birthday party. The costs were very reasonable, with only deposit and minimum bar spend required for the date we wanted. We used our deposit for a drinks reception which the venue arranged for us.Staff were very helpful from booking all the way to the night itself, and security were great at keeping our party private for our guests only.My only comment was that wasn't clear from the outset that we couldn't bring our own DJ with us. However, the venue were happy for us to play our own playlist from Spotify and helped out on that front so it wasn't a big deal.I would highly recommend this as a venue for a private event.

After looking into somewhere to book for my birthday, I had come across Core and seen it had some good reviews, good location, and had food drinks and a club all in one! Seemed perfect! I enquired regarding making a booking for a private area in the club room, when someone called me regarding this she stated that the club area was already fully booked but could put us in the cocktail bar. I was happy with this choice (the pictures on the website helped). Upon arrival we didn't have the best welcome from the bouncer who wasn't too helpful either. We were seated in a "private area" an area that was sandwiched in-between 2 other busy tables... This was already a bad start! We decided to make our way downstairs and took a seat in the bar down there. We had a look through the menu and went up to the bar to make an order, where we were told that this bar was actually closed but he would take our order anyways, we asked when would it open and when did the club open? He informed us saying it was very unlikely that the bar would open due to it not being very busy , this meant we had to go upstairs whenever we wanted a drink (not the best service!) and that the club was rented out and we wouldn't be able to gain access to this. This was the whole point in choosing this place, and to not have been told this when we booked and that it was just already booked up, was just a huge let down.. which is such a shame it could have been a really good night out, as the food is lovely and the venue is nice..

I do not go out much in London, but when I am looking for somewhere to go dance, or grab a drink with my friends, I always go to core bar. The staff are fantastic and welcoming, the menu is great, and the prices are very decent. The djs are amazing and listens to everyones requests - just generally a cool vibe for everyone! Thank you Rae for going above and beyond!! Thank you Core bar crew!

Great atmosphere, drinks and food. Fantastic dj on a Thursday, we really had a great value night out which is unexpected in this part of town.

Have been to Core quite a few times during the summer when we were able to sit outside and a couple of times just recently when we have had lunch inside. The decor and layout is really nice and we love the lightbulbs!

Been here for a couple of cocktails after dinner.Nice venue, may too young for us, lot of younger people that were really enjoying their night!

After looking at soo many bars for my husband's 30th found this bar which was perfect! Maddie was very accommodating and attentive to help organise the night. Met with her and explained what I wanted and got exactly that. My husband was so pleased with the night.The place has a great ambiance if you're looking to go out with friends, have some nice cocktails and music. The bar is big, the downstairs has a nice quirky look which makes it really nice. There is also excellent food selection for your party and excellent value. We even got to play some beer pong which made the party more fun! The music was great - the DJ played an excellent selection of music which got everyone dancing away!Overall excellent play for a birthday party with some friends and the prices are great. Place is open till 3am and it was easy for people to get home as Bank station is close by. Will definitely recommend this place.Thank you to Maddie in particular and the team for being great! Look forward to coming back again!!

All the staff, from the event booker to the security and bartenders were friendly and met all our requests with courtesy! We booked the club room on a Wednesdays night and got a dj provided for a very fair price. I will definitely recommend this place for dancing parties.

I've visiting Core a couple of times, once when it was relatively quiet (downstairs as it was summer so most people were upstairs) to meet my friend for a drink, but the atmosphere was still good. The bar staff were really friendly, and we sat in a comfy booth which I liked. The decor is nice, quite modern but unpretentious and I did have a walk around as it was my first time visiting and I wanted to see the club area (which staff kindly let me have a peek at as it was early). Recently went for dinner with some friends after work. We had a really good platter (cheese and charcuterie) which I love anyway but I normally prefer sharing lots of bits with friends, its more social, less formal so it was perfect, exactly how I prefer to have drinks and dinner. Good selection of cocktails too even though some of us had wine. Service was really good. Considering this venue for friends birthday soon if I need to book somewhere that will please everyone (food, drinks, a booth, club etc) and I often come up to central London for my birthday as I live just outside and see they cater for groups and do party packages etc. Definitely recommend this place and even for those who work in central its easy to get to for afterwork drinks (I always think about this when I'm strolling through Bank haha)

I recently booked for my birthday having been here before and enjoyed the atmosphere etc. The lady i spoke with to organise was fantastic (I think her name as Natalie?!), I must admit I wasn't the easiest customer as the party size/time changed many times. However, she was extremely accommodating and polite and even after multiple changes to my booking, she was more than happy to help, when others might have become frustrated. She even organised a free bottle of prosecco!!Upon arrival we were swiftly shown to a booth and drinks were promptly served. This was good as it can become a bit awkward if there is a big group of you and you are left hanging around waiting for staff. The Music was good and I would also recommend ordering some platters as they were great. Will definitely be returning soon & would recommend for a fun evening.

I booked this venue for my leaving drinks.This place is awesome. DJ is sooooooo good, music is great, house mixes at the dancefloor. Staff is super friendly.I will definitely recommend this place and will be back!

I booked the private room for about 60 plus people for my birthday party. It was a fantastic venue! It was the perfect size with great disco lighting and I was able to decorate the room with birthday decorations including a disco ball which enabled me to create the exact atmosphere I was looking for! I hired one of the Core DJs who was absolutely brilliant - playing the genres of music I had requested until the early hours of the morning and taking requests. The Core team were really great, making sure that everything I had requested was accommodated. My friends and I had a fantastic night and I would definitely recommend anyone considering hiring a room for a private party!

I had the Club Room for my birthday party and it was a perfect venue. The events team were excellent, really helpful and accommodating in the run up to the event, nothing was too much trouble. On the day all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room is a great size (I had about 80 guests), plenty of space for chatting and dancing, a good sound and lighting system. It was totally private so although the larger space next door was booked, it did not intrude on my party at all. Lot of my friends commented on what a great venue it is.

We go to Core for Friday night drinks after work on a regular basis and always enjoy ourselves. There are some good happy hour specials and it has a pretty good vibe. The staff are really nice and we love our regular barman upstairs, Lazlo looks after us and knows us all now and is nice to see a friendly face when we show up each week.

I went here with some friends for a night out, we had put a deposit down for a table but were about thirty minutes later than the booking time. However this made no difference to the staff and they still took us down to our table. The 50% off drinks was brilliant, we got a bottle of wine for £8! Good atmosphere and a really enjoyable night.

Came Friday night, lots of space, sick music. Atmosphere was on point. The staff were all friendly and smiley but one girl stood out. Russian brunette (Mariya?) gave us 110% service and made us great cocktails. Will definitely come again and recommend!

I have just had my daughter's 21st birthday party here as a private event in the nightclub space. I was very impressed by all the staff, including Maddie and Gosha, who organised and ran the event. All bar staff worked very hard all evening 10pm-3am helpful and polite along with security staff too. We had 120 guests, who all thoroughly enjoyed a fun filled halloween fancy dress night. The decorations were good and it was an excellent venue overall.

I've not been here for a while and so the place may have changed, but I would have described it as just the sort of place you'd go for an after work drink. I wouldn't personally go out of my way to visit. I have seen in on TV now so maybe it's getting a new crowd, but it was very much an after-work place when I was working nearby.The deco is very nice, modern and a bit funky, but it didn't have much of a vibe about it.

Good place friendly staff and reasonable prices. A bit slow to get served inside so wait outside for a waitress.

After few visits all I can say is I absolutely love it! The atmosphere is just brilliant, all the staff members are very friendly with great personalities. Two lovely polish managers are very professional and helpful. I love the great selection of drinks which are all delicious and worth every penny. Will definitely be coming back!

Really friendly staff! Messed up my drinks order however game me some free ones to make up for it. Then gave me extra shots in my cocktails for the rest of the night. Toilets were also really clean which in a club is a massive bonus :) The downstairs bar was nice as it wasn't packed great to dance with friends and easy to get drinks! Well done guys! It has a basement floor with great atmosphere. On Fridays, the music is great! Really good location, just few minutes walk to Bank station.

Core Bar is a nice place for a drink after work, food is decent and drink offers are good. Would happily meet here regularly for drinks. Downstairs also has a club area.

Lunch here with work colleagues, on a regular basis. Always good food and good service. Seating area outside is lovely.

It was a great atmosphere and the service was great. Always busy on a Friday and the deals on cocktails on fantastic meaning you can have a great night without breaking the bank which is a rarity in the city.

Great location in the city - I've eaten lunch several times and also been to two company parties held at Core. The staff are very friendly, there's a great outside area (which can get a tad crowded, mind!) and the downstairs is great for dancing. Drinks are priced as you would expect in a city venue and there's a good range. Sometimes there's a wait at the bar but nothing catastrophic! On the whole, very very good and highly recommended.

We had a great evening with excellent service and no problems queueing. Great atmosphere and wonderfull happy hour! Unfortunately didn't get around to trying the food... next time for sure!

Many of our clients are based in the city and so we decided to have a networking event there. We called around a few places but the team at Core were by far the most helpful and informative and we decided to book with them even before seeing the venue! The décor of the venue is great- really quirky and the perfect backdrop for our corporate event and the staff took care of us really well. Would definitely recommend for any corporate events and also for a night out! Cocktails are not too be missed!

Brilliant night! Maddie helped me to create the perfect night to celebrate my recent engagement. We hired out the cocktail lounge which was brilliant for a social night with loads of seating areas and a large bar. An area was cleared for the dance floor which proved to be very popular! I was in regular contact with Maddie and she arranged for us to have a DJ (he was excellent) with our preferred playlist. She also arranged a photographer. All guests were given 25% off wristbands for the night and free entry!There was a great atmosphere - perfect for a private party large or small.

Had an amazing time, staff extremely friendly and atmosphere was electric. Bartenders always helpful, Heather recommended the Champagne Cocktail.
