Baked potato rock solid Chips under cooked! Not worth the money won't visit again

Just been there tonight and the attitude of the staff is shocking got home opened the pizza which was a 16 inch cheese and tomato it was burnt absolutely shocking will not be using that chippy again

Deep fried, half pizza suppers. Chips lovely and so id pizza.

Came here for food! Place is clean and tidy looks lovely. Food was average. The service from the till assistant was lovely however the older man on the fry side was shocking! Lady told him what I wanted and he had a grump at her then I said if it was a problem I could go somewhere else ( I thought they may have been closing) he then replied of you go then! The lady on the counter even apologise. To be honest only things that was nice was this young lady! So well done to her!

We use the Corbie couple of times a month. Premises are spotless and the staff are fantastic and a real asset to the business. Great variety of food. Great welcome and fast efficient service either in store or delivery. 👍😉👍

Ordered fish supper with single black pudding. Had to wait 15 mins for fish and chips! Fish very disappointing all batter and black pudding dry unedable,went in bin! Very expensive won't be back! Better elsewhere! Javidd or Barbeque!

Bought here for years never had any issues. Ordered today just before opening time. Only thing fresh was the pizza. Chips and Donner meat was definitely reheated probably from the night before. Not fresh at all. Donner meat hard and again not fresh.

We’ve been ordering from here for 15-20 years and the quality of late has been diving off a cliff edge. We waited 1 and a half hours to be given two reheated fish suppers. We phoned on a quiet day (Sunday) and like many have also said no apology and very poor customer service skills. Get your act together Corbie, we’re not ordering from here again.

Order was requested for 5:30 and very rude girl delivered it at 4:40 claiming they didn’t know delivery time. Terrible service and rude staff.

Worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Husband was served it immediately and without a doubt the chips were last nights as we went not long after opening. Fish was rotten too. Can’t understand why a chip shop wouldn’t serve fresh chips. Won’t be back.

Today I ordered a 16" pizza with double pepperoni. I asked for a small amount of cheese. Double pepperoni means 23 slices per 16" (which gives 2.5 slices for one slice of pizza) and the amount of cheese was the same as normal. The pizza was not cut, i.e. it was in half. Place has went down hill last few months. Honestly used to be one of best but now it's overpriced and small portions. The food no longer comes crispy it's just a soggy greasy mess now and the chips are worse used to be nice fresh and crispy now soggy and half stuck to the box. Got a pizza one time and fell ill spewing all day 30 minutes after eating pizza

Placed an order for delivery - 2 fish suppers, 1 vegetable kebab and chips. All arrived earlier than expected so very good. Fish suppers were lovely apparently. However the vegetable kebab was a massive disappointment. It turned out the only vegetable in the kebab was onion, lots and lots of it. I had ordered salad with it, this comprised of lettuce, sweetcorn and olives - so not much better but at least it was more of a variety. I really hope this was a genuine error as I'd hate for anyone else to have had the same.

Made a £35 order was told would be an hour to arrive. One hour had passed still not arrived phoned to be told it has left and on the way…. Didn’t arrive after further 20 minutes phoned again was told should be any second had no apology from the person on the phone…. Waited another 20 minutes phoned again driver finally arrived after waiting an hour and 40 minutes! Food was cold. Won’t be back again

Seriously why do people even bother coming here? This chippy is undoubtedly, one of the worst chippies in edinburgh. Expensive, poor quality, tiny portions, awful customer service and to make matters worse,loads of inconsiderable people park badly outside the shop on the corner. Avoid at all costs

Ordered on deliveroo at 530pm new years day, 3 hours later said it's been delivered by Corbies delivery driver ,em no it's not £23 ,being trying to call them for over an hour no answering you calls , where's my food then eh ? Because I've not got it

Fish and chips. Home delivery. Luke warm and a cheek calling what arrived as chips. Bits and pieces of potato. Rubbish

Ordered x2 fish and chips, one with curry sauce, pick up. Food was very quick, less then 2 minutes... not necessarily a good thing. Fish and chips luke warm. Had probably been sat out pre cooked for ages. Texture of fish and chips both bad. Curry sauce was stinking. Mushy peas were decent. Not the worst fish and chips I've eaten but far from the best. Won't be back.

It used to be good but the portions have decreased and the prices are much higher. The last time I went my order took ages and two staff argued with each other over who was to blame. Nobody apologised to me and when I got my order it was missing stuff. I will not be returning as last couple of times not good. Shame as use to be good.

Have had 3 experiences with Corbie, none of them good. 1. We went into the shop to order something, no one else was there, we waited for a minute to see if someone would ask us for our order. No one did. We hollered at some of the people behind the counter that was making orders. We were ignored completely... We just ended up getting out of there with nothing. 2. We ordered online, 2 burgers, the burgers were burnt to a crisp, the burgers were properly black, some of the worst burgers we've had. 3. Again a delivery order, a doner kebab for me and a fish and chips for the missus. Tasted... Okay. So that's an improvement, but definitely not great. The kebab was also very tiny. And no chips, but didn't expect any to be fair. And the chili sauce was no good, tasted very vinegary. The fish and chips was not much better from what I understood, had some of the chips, not alot of them in there, they weren't great a bit soggy. Fish I didn't have any but the missus thought it was "pretty sh-t". We also had to call this last time to see if they even got our order because it had been well over an hour, we were told they didn't have it. But just a minute later the delivery guy showed up at the door. He was not particulary appreciative of the tip I gave him either. Many tend to be, but he not so much. Oh yeah, the prices are also way too high for what you get, which isn't much. So yeah, not gonna buy any more from these guys.

Ordered a meal for one and was advised it would take 20 mins. One hour went by and no delivery so phoned only to be fobbed off. After awaiting a further 20 minutes I phoned again to be advised the driver would be with me in seconds. The person on the phone offered no apology and was to say the least dismissive.A further twenty minutes later the delivery arrived, freezing and soggy so most of it went in the bucket. Delivery driver advised she only picked it up 12 minutes earlier so it must have been prepared long before the driver was in receipt of it Really disappointed as my last order was edible. Complete waste of almost £15.

We ordered fish and chips via Uber Eats (£25 for the two of us) and the order turned up without chips. Pretty expensive for 2 fish with no chips…

My son fell ill after eating one of the dishes from Corbie. Phoned to alert the manager who literally shouted at me 'reassuring' that his food was 100% good, absolutely ignoring the fact that it had made someone unwell.

Worst takeaway I’ve had in years, very expensive so you expect it to be at least edible, £24 for 3 suppers and everyone of them thrown in the bin, this place has went downhill drastically.

Ordered food over 2 hours ago. Most of the food arrived after an hour, but main course of pakora missing. Called them, was told it was on its way. Almost an hour and a half later- still no pakora. Called them and was assured she would call the driver and call back. Surprise, surprise, no call and still no pakora. Given people have little money and buying fewer take-aways, I would expect take away companies would ensure better service. Very poor service!!

Kebab meat was like rubber and 🌶chilli sauce would take paint of a door absolutely rubbish wont be using this chip shop again

Recently moved to the area and After hearing and reading such great things about The Corbie chippy I was keen to try it... firstly pizza was soggy - not delightful i ordered a smoked sausage supper WITH salt and sauce.. chips were half cooked an not a grain of salt on the supper an for sauce I swear it had less than a dribble over the entire thing.. cardboard box may have soaked it up - Nope there was cellophane. I will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. Wouldn't waste your money still hungry yoy couldn't eat what I received.

The staff were rude and being racist to my wife. The fish was foul, I will never go back to this chippy ever again. It’s 2022! Who the hell is racist anymore! Just small minded staff.

Really decent chippy. Suppers are good - the fish are pretty large, the smoked sausages are whole. Only downside is that it's quite busy and as a result sometimes the chips come out a little undercooked to keep the queue moving

What this takeaway lacks in crispiness, they make up in speed. I walked in, ordered, and had my food in under a minute. Great takeaway if you are in a hurry.

This chip shop is abysmal, it once had a good reputation but now it is truly awful run by a bunch of thieves, accepted an online order whilst closed and have ignored all attempts at a refund

Sadly today I have had to adapt and change my past review as I love corbies takeaway but today I visited. My daughter went in to get meal and she was served by a member of your staff a woman in a rude manner so much so even she does not want come back again. Also the food we got was disgusting. I put it in the bin it was that bad, so dissapointed in this! Went down hill fast

Quite highly priced for the portion size! Brought 2 large Doner Calzones and what was supposed to be 2 large Chips. 1 Calzone would have done one hungry person so wasnt much to go round as a family! Food was hot and tasted okay, but overpriced.

Great staff and the food is a sure winner

Food is good from here and definitely worth the money, I understand there busy but 4-5 members of staff making up delivery’s waited for about 15 mins only served one person in shop eventually just left without ordering food.

Chips were nice but the white pudding had no batter, everywhere I've ever been does it with batter so this was a first for me and tbh it's not as good without it so if I was to go again I would request it.

It should be clear that 'single' means just fish without chips. I am very disappointed. The other option was 'super' which gives the impression it is a larger meal. If 'supper' is what was meant that should have been specified. Very confusing menu. Needs to be updated. Won't be buying again.

The Corbie Takeaway is probably the best takeaway in the whole of Edinburgh, the Lothians - and Fife. In fact, we drive all the way from Fife to savour the best fish suppers. Ever. Not only is the food good but the staff are excellent - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is worth taking the trip to Silverknowes just to sample all that it has to offer. We missed it so much during lockdown.

The food is lovely, chips especially. After placing order had to wait less than ten minutes for everything. Staff were open and chatty. Delicious. My brother always has this for his birthday and it’s stunning.

I had fish and chips the batter was soggy not nice at all, and the chips were uncooked ,my husbands was the same but worse he found a piece of metal in his. luckily he noticed or he could have swallowed this ,my son had smoked sausage supper his wasn't cooked properly. it was so pink inside it and never touched his chips as they were same undercooked ,

First time trying this takeaway but will definitely not be my last absolutely fantastic the fish was lovely and thick and just melted in the mouth. Kids had chips, cheese and donner meat there was a lot in the portions. Staff were very pleasant. Well worth the 5 stars.

waited 2 hours, called them and told they didn't have order slip and it didnt print out...told I couldn't get delivery as it was 2125 and driver had gone home..offered to deliver next night, and to tbh I told them what I thought of that idea and where they could stick there kebab.

Just visited “Corbie” in Davidson’s Mains. The chips I bought appeared to have been sitting for a long time, seemed darker than normal in colour and were extremely greasy. The staff should have disposed of these and cooked a fresh batch. I wouldn’t want to feed these to my spaniel. On a positive note the girl that served me was polite. Hopefully this was a one off .... however I won’t be going back to find out.

My food is always delivered on time and the food is fresh. Yesterday I had Chicken kebab pizza. The food was yummy as always. I enjoyed it a lot. You deserve 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Ignore the previous reviews which I think were not genuine. We had takeaway fish and chips home delivery. Fish was fresh and tasty. Delivery on the dot. Good value for money. Will order again.

I was going to collect the fish and chips but decided to have it delivered as it only cost £2 extra. In the past we’ve collected but due to the weather/parking preferred a delivery. As always the fish and the chips were excellent. Not sure what other people like, but, I love their product. To be honest, it reminds me of home. I’m from Yorkshire and love the batter on the haddock and the slightly squishy chips. So tasty. Some of the rude, unpleasant reviews are disgusting. Local competition?

I love the chips at Corbies and have never had a bad meal from there. My parents recently tried the lasagne which I find a strange item from a chip shop but said it was lovely. We’ve tried everything, kebab meat, fish, etc and it’s all been really good. I was surprised to see negative reviews about the place but noticed they were mostly super old so wanted to share a recent good review!

Now before I start I have been here before and food was ok not the greatest but ok ,,,but you have asked me to review my last visit ,,,and it's not good I'm afraid food order was wrong ,still ok in my book but had to wait ten min still ok ,then order was still wrong ,no curry sause ,,had to wait another fifteen minutes for that ,,,still in real life acceptable,,but the attitude of the staff ,,not acceptable were not bothered the other night ,not saying they like that all the time but I wasent impressed ,,

Calzone under-seasoned but the onion rings and jalapeno poppers were fantastic

I spent the weekend with my son and i didn't wanna cook so that we could have much time together. I ordered one della casa pasta and a chicken kebab pizza. we enjoyed it a lot and absolutely gonna try it again.

One of my favourite takeaways at the moment for a burger. I love its vegetable burgers and usually order mushroom and butter as a side dish. Yummy, very quick and huge portions.

Good fish and chips. Unfortunately with the CV19 they were not good with customers entering and them not wearing PPE. The food is great. Still 5 star. It is not their fault as it is hot and would need a vast amount of money to fix. But otherwise need to speed up staff. I've been in the last 3 times and have had to always wait for chips. Maybe my bad luck but 3 times on a row is perhaps not just bad luck. Once the CV19 is over I will visit again. 3 stars so far is for quality + cleanliness + food. Negative is speed - hygienic (CV-19), slightly cost and Chips!

El peor kebab que he probado. El kebab mixto consistía en trozos de pollo y cordero masticables y cremados. Una pequeña ración de carne de doner, una caja de ensalada, 3 salsas horribles y un pan de pita. Todo vino por separado y tuve que hacer el kebab yo mismo. Cuesta 10 que es un valor terrible. Nunca volveré a comer aquí, incluso si me muero de hambre.

Misrerable owner/ fryer clearly couldn't be bothered breading a special fish (on menu) so fobbed us off with the old 'no breadcrumbs'. That well known short shelf-life ingredient! Battered fish piled up i.e. not cooked to order. No customers at tea time on a sunny day tells it's own story
