Copperwheats is an excellent cafe if you like great coffee and a cheeky piece of cake (or anything else for that matter!). John, the owner, is a great host and the cafe is a great place to have a chat to the islanders. John's wife makes the best carrot cake I have ever tasted anywhere

Absolute disgrace this man. My dad and my son went in for a drink whilst waiting for the ferry. When I asked him for a normal cup instead of a take away cup his reply was that hé does'nt do cups anymore since covid. However several People in the shop did have normal Coffee cups and once I mentioned this his answer was that only locals can have a cup.So my dad who is a local got a cup whilst my son and I had a take away cup. Discrimination in my opinion. Will never use again

Proper sanitair. Echte aanrader in afwachting van de overzet !

We stopping at this cafe while at the ferry terminal. I purchased 2 scones and tea. Whilst my husband was eating his he found a long hair which had come out of the scone in his mouth. We reported it to the woman who served us and she said she would give us a refund which she did. It was her lack of concern about the hair in the scone as if this happened quite often. I am sorry to say I will not be visiting this establishment again.

Have been in here a couple of times. Both times just for lattes while waiting on the ferry back to the mainland and although latte isn’t my favourite type of coffee I was told they did amazing flavoured ones. First time I had a gingerbread latte last year and a hazelnut latte this year. Was so glad the second latte was just as good as the first. Barista was also very friendly and provided good service. Well done Copperwheats!

Went in for lunch after strolling about Brodick with our elderly father. The place was in very close proximity to the Arran Ferry Terminal so decided to give it a try. We ordered fish and chips thinking this would be a safe bet. How wrong we were. Approximately £11 for frozen fish and chips. Not only was the fish frozen but the batter was heavy and very unappealing. Tartare sauce was also out of date. We should have realised this place would not be good as there were only another 2 people in and that is normally a good indication. The girl server was okay and also asked if we enjoyed the food, to which I replied no and told her what was not to our liking. She did say she would sort out the out of date tartare sauce. No offer of discount was given. The whole place lacked ambience and unfortunately we will never return nor could I recommend.

Went in for a quick coffee and bite to eat before the ferry to be greeted by moody staff with terrible attitudes. This little coffee shop lets the island down whether it’s serving those coming off the ferry or going home. I’d imagine this small business mostly relies on the custom of visitors to the island so it might be wise of management to consider having a word with staff or risk losing business. Such a shame, has so much potential. Manners and a smile go a long way.

Came here for a tea and maybe a bite to eat before ferry but were greeted with the most unpleasant server imaginable. Plates were banged down, anger was shown when one customer asked to pay with card and everything was unhappy. She treated everyone in the cafe with a severe bad attitude and ruined the whole atmosphere of the place making it very uncomfortable. We probably would have eaten but felt unwelcome. You could tell that everyone felt the same way and most reviews saying the same. Shame as could be a nice wee place.

We popped in here for a quick cuppa and a cake. I think we inconvenienced the young lady serving and she certainly was not welcoming or grateful for our custom. Definitely NOT service with a smile. The coffee and cake were fine with a pleasing assortment of cakes on offer. Bit pricey but that’s to be expected on an island. I don’t mind that. The coffee shop is located just across from the ferry terminal so convenient for many. We won’t be returning. There are loads of lovely friendly and welcoming coffee shops on the island and I’d much rather give my money to them in return for a smile and a pleasant atmosphere.

Nipped in here whilst waiting on our ferry, and ordered a couple of breakfast rolls and hot drinks. Absolutely dire atmosphere. Seemed like we were an inconvenience to the two staff members. Right from the off there was a lot of huffing and puffing and the tension between the two female staff members was so tangible you could chew on it like a roll! The girl with the purpley hair who was cooking the food just about bit the other girls head off when she tried to pass her the order. The other girl seemed distinctly exasperated. I'm unsure if they maybe had a disagreement or some sort of personal issue but my goodness does it make for an uncomfortable setting! The prices were higher than we expected (we are of the understanding it cost over £2 extra for cream in the coffee we ordered ). The rolls were ok, although had to be sent back as had wrong fillings (misheard I'm assuming due to the snapping and speaking over each other done by the staff members). The bacon was very very fatty but the fried egg was cooked perfectly. Would eat the food again but would not spend any longer than necessary in the cafe, and would hate to ask anything extra of the staff for fear of being lynched!!

On say that the girl banned the tray on the counter!!!!! We said forget the tea and left. There are so many nice places to eat , but we did find one with very pleasant staff and lovely food. I just get a takeaway and eat in the car, but when travelling as a foot passenger I eat inside. It's a very pleasant cafe with lovely sofas and armchairs plus tables and chairs if you prefer. The food is simply delicious. I always get a baked potato prawn marie rose. It comes with a side salad with a lovely dressing. The prawns are mouth wateringly good and the coffee is superb. Nice coffee stop by the ferry terminal, good selection of meals and sweet-things-not-really-part-of-a-diet snacks! Popular with Islanders and visitors alike.

Went in, and girls ran off their feet, and had a sausage supper, and a half standard/half special fish supper. Girls were lovely, and the food was outstanding. Best chippy in Largs by a mile. It's a bit chaotic, as all good traditional Italian chippys should be. Wouldn't go anywhere else. 5 star from us.

Duncan served us with an excellent meal He personally advised re menu and did not disappoint. He was helped by a very professional young waitress.

Such a shame how bad the food was at this place as the spa and the facilities are lovely! From reading the hundreds of bad reviews it seems the general consensus is that the food is terrible. We got the steak pie which had soggy pasty, chewy beef and watery tasteless gravy. We also had the buttermilk chicken which was overdone and inedible. It’s really a shame as this place has great potential. The food put a damper on what was a great day in the spa, very disappointed and dissatisfied! With the price of £20 for a pie you’d expect something decent but I’ve had better pies at the football! Service was also not the best.

Very disappointing. Busiest weekend in the Largs calendar and this poor pub/bar/restaurant was ill equipped to cope with the footfall. Been a couple of years since I have been in this facility, but very sad to see the demise of a lovely wee local. The place was filthy dirty, food would take over 1 hour and bar staff unable to manage queues at the bar. Hope the next time I visit this review will help them constructively to put the appropriate measure in place to restore the reputation of not just my opinion but the opinion of fellow customers.

Perfect end to a lovely stay at the Gailes! We decided to have breakfast at GG’s as we have been before and it never dissapoints! The food is always SO good & the staff are so friendly warm & welcoming! We were looked after today by Irish Liz who was so lovely & made our morning! We went to the driving range after breakfast and the staff made us coffee and drinks to take through with us too! Delightful relaxing morning thank you everyone ❤️
