Coppa Club - Streatley in West Berkshire

This was an amazing experience, our waitress for the evening, Phoebe, was so kind to us and made us feel so welcomed in the establishment. The food service was amazing and a very big portion, which was a big plus.

Oh my gosh where do I even start, what an absolutely beautiful location with scenic views of the River Thames along with some of the best food I’ve ever had. The food came quickly and was delicious and paired with an amazing waitressing performance I was having the time of my life. Thank you so so much I will be back again in no time I adored it.

It was my Mum's birthday celebration at the venue. Lovely seating area, good food, and excellent service. Amy (our waitress for the evening) was superb. She was really friendly with good humour and very professional. She made it a special occasion - which it was! Thank you.

We were going to a concert at the adjacent Morrell Hall so stayed at The Swan and ate at the Coppa Club. The service was excellent from our waitress Amey the menu was restricted but the dishes were excellent. Thoroughly recommend!

I had such a amazing evening. We had a 3 course meal and Weronika was able to explain and recommend dishes. Such a professional waitress with so much knowledge. All dishes that we had were amazing. This was our first time here and truly magical. It was our 4th wedding anniversary and the food we had was beyond our expections. We were served by Mirela and she went an extra mile to accommodate all our needs. Best food, best service good atmosphere. Would recommend to all.

I’ve eaten here before but I’m sorry to complain but our meals today 3/2/24 1pm was well below par! While the service was ok 3 of the 4 main meals were bland and mine ( the aubergine dish was over cooked and totally flavourless), the flat iron steak was almost inedible, very, very disappointing. Such a shame as the venue is delightful!

Have to say I was a bit nervous because of the recent negative reviews, but we had an amazing time at the Swan at Streatley last weekend. We were there for drinks, dinner, an overnight stay in the hotel and breakfast. The food was delicious...

This was our second visit in a week. The first was to meet my husbands parents who were staying in the hotel. We were swiftly told there was no service and everything had to be ordered from the bar as they had no staff. We worked with this and even though our order was completely wrong did not complain as we understood the difficulties of a full team on a Monday. We returned last night for my birthday, we were greeted by the news that they couldn’t print children’s menus so could we look them up or have someone read them to us, they also couldn’t accommodate our table request, they didn’t have any fresh fruit for the cocktail orders, or any Peroni (they also had none of that on Monday and hadn’t felt the need to order more in the 6 days between). The bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock. A glass of a magnum of the wine could be ordered on reflection. The starters arrived before the drinks, my son ended up spitting his squid into a napkin as it was unchewable (the kids crispy squid is the reason we are always eating here). My daughters chicken arrived as plain pasta having been put through incorrectly and the chicken arrived 15 minutes later. I couldn’t even eat my prawn linguine. The linguine couldn’t be separated as it was so stuck together and over cooked and the prawns were like bullets. When the waitress cleared the table she didn’t even bother to comment on two untouched plates of food or even ask if there was a problem. We ordered another glass of wine only for the wrong wine to be sent, although they did try to charge us for it. £165 later we went home and made sandwiches. Terribly disappointing and consistently bad unfortunately.

Terrible experience from start to end. Reserved table not ready. Was walked through a half-empty restaurant full of dirty tables and asked to sit at bar until called for our table. Once at table waited 15 minutes to be served, starters didn’t come for a further 25 minutes (had to chase them for a pot of olives and dry garlic bread!) then of course our mains arrived 2 minutes after the starters! Waited a long time after mains to order desserts, £8.50 for a sloppy liquid crème brûlée that was poorly presented. No waitress to be found for a bill, after waiting 15 minutes finally put our coats on and had to find another waitress at the back to help us with our bill. When they added 12.5% service charge, I politely said I didn’t wish to pay this (we had received NO service for the 2 miserable hours we were there). She then had to get a manager to take the service charge off… the nail in the coffin was that the manager that come over did not acknowledge us or even ask us about our experience or apologise for the terrible service or the fact we were paying the bill whilst stood at the check in station because our waitress was still no where to be found. Poor management. We have always loved going here, will never come back. It’s a shame they don’t have staff currently who seem to give two hoots about service (why bother when 12.5% will get added regardless and most customers wont have the confidence to challenge poor service and just pay). From reading other reviews it’s clear our £130 nightmare evening wasn’t just a one off.

Had a lovely meal at Coppa, food was good and the setting was amazing. The stand out thing was the truly excellent service from Jemima who was utterly professional but with a really friendly demeanour. Nothing was to much for Jemima and even though she was clearly very busy, I never had to wait for anything. What a star!!

VERY disappointed with the whole experience. We met friends there for lunch and we were shown to our table. After sitting at our table for about 20 minutes we had to ask if we could order some drinks, they then all came at different intervals. We eventually ordered our food, (this took about 40 minutes to come to us) one of our party had pasta with king prawns, there were only about 3 king prawn tails in it and it was very salty. We asked one of the staff if we could add courgette fries to our table and she was extremely rude and rolled her eyes at us. After our dinner we ordered some coffees and a tea. These took 35 minutes to arrive, when they did arrive, the tea was a peppermint tea and not the cinnamon one that was ordered, the waiter took it back and no other tea arrived! After speaking to the manager, who apologised for everything and said that they were sorry that the staff member who was rude was probably having a bad day, they took some money off the bill. Saying that this was our first time here and we had been looking forward to it, the setting is beautiful, however the staff and the food leaves a lot to be desired! We most definitely will not be back!!

Five of us had a pleasant lunch a few weeks previously but when another 4 of our family joined us last week the whole experience was nearly 3 hours of continuous disaster.Nobody was responsible for looking after us so it was wait,wait,wait.the service was nonexistent and we had to constantly get up from the table and search for help. The main course was presented before we had had our starters so consequently our food had a warmed up taste about it. The drinks waiter didn’t know the difference between Ginger Ale and Ginger Beer The welcoming area was inhospitable and noisy as it was near the kitchen serving area where the waiters picked up the food orders.
