Hello Cooper Arms We came to you yesterday Tuesday table for two booked D Bright my partner food ordered drinks food came looked nice but that's as far as its goes chips been in water to long full of starch not nice ham lots of it but most was Grissell could not eat much peas cold salad looked very nice other meal rice not that hot peas cold scampi and sald very nice drink great you are a bit out of our way as from Cardiff but I seen your menu no prices on line maybe don't do fresh chips use frozen if you want me to take this off can do us ask

Absolutely incredible food 😍 went for Sunday dinner today, had the lamb shank with mint gravy 😋 top quality and the vegetables were amazing, lovely helpful staff, highly recommended 😋

Horrible customer service. Turned up as a group of 6 adults and 8 hungry kids at dinner time, to be told the chef had gone home and they weren’t serving food. Since the kids were starving and we’d already ordered drinks, we ordered a Dominos delivery. When it arrived, the staff turned very hostile and forced us to leave. I appreciate that bringing food into a pub that serves its own food is not normally allowed, but this pub wasn’t serving food so there shouldn’t have been a problem. The owners didn’t seem to comprehend this though, and preferred to drive customers away. I won’t be returning, and would not recommend this pub to anyone, certainly not families. Avoid.

Just had Christmas dinner, with my mam and partner staff friendly polite really made my mam's day the food was excellent great portion sizes well Presented. beef was lovely turkey was moist my partner said the whole meal was great atmosphere was great aswell thanks for a great day to all the staff

21 meals for a family party. Everybody’s Food was amazing, hot and served fast. Sunday lunch also is always great and staff always lovely.

Sunday roast was absolutely beautiful we will definitely be back for more

11 of us went to the coppers tonight for my nieces 1st birthday. Although I've been there a few times over the past 2 months and had lovely food, tonights was not good to say the least. To start with the young waiter held every hot dish he was bringing out over my 1 yr old nieces head who was sat in a highchair. It was making us so nervous that I had to tell him in the end. The burger was so dry. The lamb shank come out an it was so tiny, id seen more meat on a dogs bone. 2 of us paid the same price for steak an peppercorn sauce, 1 was tiny, the other was massive, some of the chips where so over cooked that you couldn't get a folk through them and the garlic bread was like a brick ( no one ate it) my mams lasagne was so dry an tastless she ate 2 mouthfuls and left it. I told the waiter this when he was collecting the plates and he said he would speak to the chef and get back to us as I told him we were not happy to pay for it. He didnt come back to us. I paid for my meal at the bar and told the bar lady about mams meal to which she replied "she should have said something sooner" so was expecting us to pay for the awful meal that wasn't eaten. It was only that she asked had someone come to check that our food was OK half way through ( which they hadn't) did she let us off without paying for it. Like I said earlier I've had some lovely food in the place before now so im really hoping it was a one off an just a bad day for them.

Lovely, friendly staff. Clean and roomy to move around with a walking stick. Clean toilets. Excellent food.

Spiffing Sunday lunch. They squeezed a table of two last minute. Most tables were booked so I suggest ringing early or the day before. Only down side I felt is that the carpets needs a deep clean and the table was sticky from cleaning products. Overall great. Would definitely recommend

Food was hit and miss. Staff friendly and good service. Pub could probably do with being refurbished Some of the chairs very wobbly. Pub for locals who enjoy sport on the tv and a pint

Very bland dinner and frozen yorkshire puddings. Wouldn't recommend this for a fresh dinner had better up the the road.

Had dinner here yesterday as we couldn't get in anywhere else. This place was empty when everywhere else was fully booked. I honestly didn't think much of the food at all. I wouldn't go here again. Sorry but an honest review

Nice and clean, good service, have never tried eating here only drinking. Small car park, sometimes difficult to park if they're very busy.

Had a lovely meal There was 11 of us The reason for 3 stars was the music so load and banging music . I understand that they would cater for there locals but only 4 by the bar.

We called in for food this afternoon,not booked a table but the lovely lady sorted a table out for us. Myself and my husband had an amazing cooked lunch just like homemade, and they catered for my husband whose celiac 100%. Thank you so much we will return xx

Don’t really have anything positive to say. The chips although homemade were so soggy with grease they were not edible. My curry arrived like warm, and without the Nan bread it says it comes with. The smothered chicken had grease under the chicken on the plate, no cheese and the bbq was a gravy not a sauce. Burger arrived wrong, was replaced but was also not of good quality. We complained to the blonde lady behind the bar but were told that there is nothing that can be done and to return on Sunday. Awful food and ended up leaving starving as I couldn’t eat it. Extremely disappointed with both the meal quality and the fact that either management were either unable or help or just unwilling to take any responsibility.

We went here after being told it was good food however we had corned beef pie with chips and gravy am gammon eggs chips the pie came out in a dish and was covered in gravy it appeared that it was mashed potato and very little corned beef and no pastry and not seasoned as for the chips they didn’t look like any of the photos we didn’t complain no point but we definitely won’t visit again

Only one beer on cask, no craft beers in bottles/cans. Closed very early at 9 on a Sunday evening.

My mother went here for Christmas lunch the other day, having paid £17 for a three course meal. She sat down with friends to have a lovely starter, but then unfortunately the dinner came with no gravy. When she asked for gravy, she was told they had 'run out'. When approaching the bar to complain, she was told she would have to eat it without gravy. She demanded a refund, as anyone would do, having paid a significant amount of money for this dinner, and was granted the refund by the bartender but then pointed at and told she wasn't welcome there again. She told them she would not be back and left. Disgusting service and sub par quality of food. Avoid at all costs.

The food and atmosphere was excellent and staff are very friendly and helpful. Our meal was excellent value.

Family Xmas meal. Where do I start. Booking was for 12 so was expecting to be on one table but was split into 2 tables away from eachother and this meal was pre booked and paid for. Starters came, but the tastless pate was served with limp unappealing salad and half a slice of white bread which was advertised as a baguette. The rubbery prawns on the prawn cocktail were sparingly sprinkled on top of a tall glass of lettuce again poor. The soup was OK but very small portions. Main course we was informed they had run out of potatoes so some people would have mash? Again this meal was pre booked weeks ago. The beef was very very dry and even with loads of gravy was very tough, most got left, the chicken and the gammon was fine but small portioned. The veg was carrots, overcooked peas and sprouts. I will say the stuffing was lovely as was the gravy hence the 2 stars. Desert or lack of, we were informed they had run out of Xmas pudding and the chocolate fudge cake which again was pre booked. Refunds were given for desert as we didn't fancy any of the other options which is why we pre booked. It turns out the Coopers had been taking in walk ins plus had over booked another party which is why they run out. Unfortunately that's no our fault and having pre booked should have received what we ordered. In all very very poor. You won't see us next year.

I was here this week, the food was great, jacket potatoe with chicken highly recommended. The lady who looked after us was really friendly, she reserved our lunch time table and it was warm and cosy. Nice place.

This is a nice looking pub,very clean and staff friendly.Thats the positives out of the way. The food was awful,dried chicken,white soggy chips and salad that consisted of a mound of shredded lettuce with a couple of slices of tomato. Complete waste of money.

Working lunch at the Coopers, great to be back. Lunch, as always, was lovely. Tried the "dirty fries" with sweet chilli chicken. Delicious!

Never have I ever had such an awful experience in a restaurant since lockdown lifted. Booked a table, sat down, totally ignored for 15 minutes, other customers after we came in and got served straight away. Asked for some menus and got such a poor attitude off the server. As we were walking out another server came over to take our order and we explained we had terrible service and attitude and such... Her reply? "Suit yourself"... Loved the pub and food, not sure if management has changed but no need.

Just finished a very impressive takeaway Sunday lunch from the coopers. Beef and chicken were beautiful, veg was lovely and the gravy was very tasty. If you haven't tried one I would highly recommend it. Keep up the Brill work Steve, Ann and staff team

Cheap and cheerful lunch. No delays and food good.

Have been to the Coopers before and had acceptable service and decent "pub grub". Unfortunately this time I waited 15 minutes to be seated ( despite a reservation) and 55 minutes on a drinks order. Ordered a "fajita" which turned out to be a burger with some peppers in it. Burger was soggy and chips were hard. Cut the night short to prevent further disappointment.

Visited here today for lunch and it was outstanding! Very informative info when I arrived by the waitress! Lovely and friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. I had the Messy American burger and it has to be one of the best burgers I’ve had! Smoky bacon, nacho cheese bites and double slim beef patte burger!! Served with homemade chips and slaw for £10.. it beat me I couldn’t finish it! Bloody lovely 😊

A really lovely pub .I wanted to arrange somewhere for a family get together before a night at the valley greyhound racing track and the Cooper's Arms came up as a brilliant venue. On visiting ad-hock withon a reckie with my partner for an exploratory visit, the atmosphere provides a welcoming venue and the food selection was reasonably to cheaply priced and provided a nice selection of 'home style' dishes and desserts. We ordered a brunch, which was very well presented and served quickly with generously sized large portions. The staff were lovely from the moment we arrived and were hapoy to help with my request . A well run, cosy pub and restaurant with a traditional feel and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to our family get together later in February and I'm sure that this will prove to b a great venue to start and prob end the night for all my family from across various parts of South Wales and England. I would happily recommend the Cooper's arms in Ystradowen mynach .

Been told many times that the food and the Real Chips are amazing. Sorry but it was very disappointed chips were greasy and non eatable. Would never recommend. Very disappointed
