Deliver driver was waiting for 45 minutes at the restaurant for the order to be prepared. Roast dinners were delivered without any roast potatoes which is key part of a roast

quite disappointed 2 slithers of meat and only green thing on my plate are peas! only other veg is cauliflower and carrots no brocoli, parsnips,cabbage cauliflower cheese.. delivery time kept changing even though I'm 3 mins drive away it took over an hour

I had to drive 3 miles to meet the driver as he refused to bring my food as he refused to bring it to my adress as the sat nav took him to the wrong place im absolutely tamping this isnt the first time either absolute joke

Popped in to have a cheeky breakfast today. Although it was a little busy it was nice to see that the breakfast choice was nice and full. Breakfast was really tasty and the staff were pleasant and helpful as usually. Would always recommend

Weve ordered the breakfast twice the same size and not had the right amount of sausage and bacon as stated in the description, once is an accident twice seems like theres an error somewhere

Awful experience Popped in for a breakfast which is usually fantastic and great value Unfortunately the toaster had just stopped working Nobody’s fault but highly annoying nonetheless When highlighted to staff she did offer a refund but was extremely rude by muttering under her breath ‘what’s wrong with people today’ (which she probably didn’t realise I heard) Not professional and added to my annoyance It’s for that comment alone I’m giving a 1 and will not be returning

The staff are efficient and attentive, food continuously replenished. Internally much improved since the upgrade, would recommend to others.

Hot and fairly tasty Sunday carvery. Lamb a littke fatty / chewy but beef lovely. Lovely selection and piping hot which is always top score for me as I eat verrrryyy slow!

Superb breakfast. I met a colleague here for a business Breakfast where I was delighted to learn the breakfast option is just an all you can eat/drink buffet. We both had our own version of a full English and as much coffee as we could. And no wait, brilliant.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant for years and always had a great experience, great food and friendly staff. On Sunday 09 Mar 25 - 1pm I experienced what I can only describe as abuse from a member of the carvery team (shortish lady, short dark hair, English accent - let’s make it clear who this is!) she made me feel very small in front of the other diners whilst proceeding to shout at me. I asked if she wouldn’t mind trimming the fat off the beef and she went ballistic shouting ‘I’m not here to be spoken to like that’. Threw a load of tongs around and barked at me not to touch meat and then tongs. This was absolutely disgusting tone, the woman is mad to say the least! It turned out other diners had the same experience. The management delt with the issue in right way and the meal was free. I hope she’s advised not speak to this way to customers in future. An upsetting experience all in all that went way beyond poor service. No issues with the food.

No Yorkshire puddings it was freezing cold and cauliflower was rock solid and no cheese so you can’t call it cauliflower cheese

Food is always so lovely! I always book as it's usually busy, which is always a good sign of somewhere nice to eat. Service is super quick, carvery food is absolutely delish!!! 😋

The mash was bland and so was the cauliflower cheese and roasties but overall it was really good and the refill on certain drinks came free was also overall fantastic I recommend but I would say add seasoning to your mash

Came with stuffing when asked for none, and was all broken up so affected the whole dinners. Was all squashed in so peas were basically in the mash. Half of it was mash. Beef was basically fat. Turkey and roasties were nice.

Myself and a friend visit regularly to the Caerphilly Toby. Credit to the staff there!! Especially Joshua Cole for his friendly greeting, Arran Watkins for his hard work in Keeping the vegetables going even when there is a rude customer he is always apologetically resolving any questions or issues with a smile, Nina Sparey for her politeness at the bar and Holly Jones for her table manners and politeness. You have a fantastic team there!!!!

From the moment I walked in to this restaurant, I can honestly say, it was the most welcoming place that I have ever eaten at. The staff are absolutely wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, whatever I asked for. The service is brilliant, didn't have to wait long in the queue to be served either, the food was amazing , lovely and hot, and cooked to perfection ☺️I have to say, all the staff are a credit to their manager, who must be so proud. I would recommend eating here 100% . Thank you for such an enjoyable experience. 🙂

Received a different tables bill Sausages with king size was never received “Chef said bring them over in two minutes” As stated above overcharged and wasn’t willing to wait for a manager to receive refund A half hearted apology Other table obviously had the cheaper bill. Dissatisfied always 9 / 10 out of ten really showed poor customer service skills Sunday and should be compensated

A lovely meal was ruined by finding half way through my wine black bits at the bottom of my glass. I only noticed when I felt a bit in mouth. I was upset that the bar staff blamed me for something dropping in it. We were sat away from other people ,don't smoke so wasn't tobacco as they suggested. It could of been handled alot better

Incredible food, super tasty, friendly manager seated us, tall lady very polite and helpful and explained things perfectly. Never been here until now. Can't wait to come back. Only bad point was car park super busy but hey, it's Sunday, and goes to show how popular this place really is! Server jordan was fantastic

Two of three gravies spilled in the bag, which I can ultimately forgive since we had a jar of instant to hand, but I cannot forgive the lack of Yorkshire puddings. Three carveries and not a single Yorkie in sight. Disappointing! The experience has frankly left me distraught and questioning whether I can ever chance placing an order with Toby ever again. Crying emoji.

Went on a busy Sunday so the food was being cooked fresh. 5 meat options. Highly recommend the lamb. Service was a bit slow but the waiting staff were lovely.

Great food always hot and good quality

I was disgusted to be made to feel like a second class citizen because I had a service dog with me. I could go into the restaurant with a guide dog for the blind, but because I have severe mental health issues my service dog was discriminated against. The food was lovely however, as nice as the staff were this is still discrimination and I will have to reconsider whether I will return. Extremely disappointed and disgusted in this era of BEEEEE KIND!!! Ammendment........... On behalf of myself and my family I feel I need to clarify our visit and try to alleviate any distress caused. I am still not impressed with Toby. However, that was Toby and their policies. I personally can't believe they can distinguish between service dogs. This is NOT RIGHT! But.......... I must thank Jen who did look after us, and the food was very nice. I totally understand that you are an employee and have to follow the rules. Sadly the discrimination between dogs ( not on a personal level) does not sit right and left me very anxious and distressed.

Incompetent driver could not find us! I stood outside in the cold for ages but he did not get anywhere near our address. Gave up and cancelled order in the end. I've put 30 minutes late but it did not arrive. No refund yet. Really annoyed.

This place is dirty and doesn’t have menu items. The carvery is a mess and dirty. Not impressed chef said he has things and staff said no. Try somewhere else.

Refurbished nice but need to improve on the food

Nice place just a standard as they come. Wouldn't say it was the best one I've been too, as some food was under cooked and tasted bland. It's very busy here was queuing for 30 mins and had to wait for stuffing wouldn't say it's terrible place, but certainly had better. Price was okay think it was £40 for 3 adults. Parking was abit of a nightmare and spaces between cars was bad. Service was great staff where on top of it and everything went alright.

Friendly and polite, helpful staff. Our carvery was cooked to perfection with an ample slice of cheesecake to follow. I was particularly pleased to see the homemade wonky yorkshire puds. Much better than the branded ones. No negative comments to write about. We will visit again.

Usually a great place to eat a carvery but not when it's half price week. Only beef on the menu and that wasn't great. Veg and gravy great though

Went for the half price carvery offer and we clearly weren't alone with that idea! The pub itself is clean and tidy and benefits from a bit of refurbishment last year. Tables well cleaned and laid, service very friendly and efficient. Carvery was busy, but running smoothly so not too long a wait and a decent portion of meat before you create your own vegetable mountain smothered carefully in gravy that you have to carefully manoeuvre back to your table. Roast potatoes are good, gravy is good and a decent selection of vegetables. The beef was a bit chewy and the standard issue knife isn't up to the job of cutting it TBH. It's a good roast dinner and plenty of it, when on offer it's really good value and the pub itself makes it a pleasant place to eat.

Booked for 4 people stuck in a corner opposite the carvery to the left cold air coming through the vent above our heads that made our food cold Food was only Luke warm anyway no gammon no turkey Only beef that was probably over ordered from Christmas Used on a regular basis But not sure if I will be returning absolute shambles We actually booked for 19.10 but were told we would have to wait to be seated around 19.25

Just found out that the vegetarian carvery is now the same price as a full meat carvery!!!! Back I go to giving my meat to my husband so at least he can enjoy it if we’re paying for it anyway!!!!!

Cannot fault this place. Had their Sunday carvery which was great quality and good value. Choice of 5 meats pork, lamb, turkey, beef and gammon. Plenty of vegetables, gravy and condiments such as mustard, horseradish, mint etc. Very enjoyable.

The food is lovely, I'd like a bit more meat, the prices increase and the amounts decrease. I don't come here expecting service, the staff are well mannered and carry out their duties efficiently.

Paid extra for the bundle with pigs in blankets, stuffing etc. Order arrived cold, bag open with seals stuck on side, no pigs in blankets, no stuffing, all the wrong meats. No answer at Just eat, no answer at restaurant. Left message to call me back.

The cauliflower was very overcooked. Also much of the food was cold.

Had a great Sunday lunch with my family, wasn't too full @ 1pm, also short queue For the food, the beef had just come out of the oven and was just a bit pink which is how i like it. over all a great dinner

The service and the food was second to none. This is my second visit and I will surely visit again, next time may try the breakfast menu.

We were here for a Boxing Day family roast.(10 people). We are regular diners here so we know the food/service is excellent. Starter came as soon as we were all settled. Beautifully presented and so tasty. Carvery was next. Again beautifully cooked and a very wide range of veg, sauces etc. However…..we waited 90 minutes….yes 1.1/2 hours for our pre ordered desert. When it still didn’t arrive we had to leave disappointed as we had older relatives meeting us at home. This put a damper on what started out as a very enjoyable family get together. I believe it was very short staffed for a Boxing Day celebration.

Went in late after Christmas shopping and was welcomed with smiles. The carver was so friendly and it was lovely to hear a happy workforce. I was struggling with a headache and was checked on by the bar man, very attentive. The food was lovely and plenty of it.

It would be nice to have more vegetable options like cabbage and broccoli. The gravy wasn't the greatest, it was watery. Their cheese cauliflower, was not cheesy at all. Thou my mum was shown to the table, we had no one coming over to see us til after we finished our food. We were wanting the festive food as some of us wanted the 2 course meal. But this ended up being billed as a carvery and desserts billed separately. Had to go to the bar to get everyone their drinks, as we had no one coming up to us.

I visited Toby carvery Caerphilly earlier today, booked a table for 11.30 am today, yesterday evening, booking was so easy! I had a fabulous time, the carver was Phil, he was lovely, friendly & efficient. My waitress was Georgie, she was lovely, also friendly & efficient too. I had the standard carvery, with all the meats & there were a great selection of fresh vegetables, lovely gravy & great sauces. All freshly out out as I was there early & didn't have to wait long once everything was put out. I also had a great latte, glass of pinot grigio & a brandy coffee to finish. Was very lucky to see friends of mine there & had a lift home with them. Will be seeing you all again soon in the new year for carvery & also the unlimited breakfast which I go for too & is lovely as well. Thank you all & merry xmas & a happy new year all! 💖

Food cold , poor customer service, frozen bread ,slow service , not ensuring food available, unprofessional approach

***UPDATE*** Paid another visit today and same great food and service but the temperature in the restaurant totally spoiled it for us, and it wasn't just us, everyone was complaining about the heat. "The home of the roast" was very appropriate today. Very impressed by the quality of the food on the Sunday carvery. Great service as usual. Can't wait to go again.

Never lets us down. We are regulars here and always excited to return as the food and service is always great. Our host Aaron on this occasion was friendly and professional and the gentleman serving the meats was also a great host. Beef and gammon was delicious and the place always has a good atmosphere. Always busy but I don't know how. The food is rank, tasteless hard veg. Gravy like water and fatty cheap meats. Don't expect much from toby but this place is the worst one! Staff aren't very helpful either. Roasties though...

Just visited after the fit out. Very nice. Called in for early evening dinner. The food was really good. What made the experience for us was the young chap who showed us to our table and looked after us. Also the young lady serving the food was lovely. Well done we will be back soon.

meat was fine but the rest... We got this as a little treat for ourselves and it was anything but. No taste and cold. Cauliflower is not cooked, I like my veggies with some crunch but it has nearly touched the water. The carrots are watery and over cooked. The mash is bland. All I can say is don't offer delivery if you can't deliver the goods. Really not happy, we've ended up cooking.

Had to queue out of the door with people who hadn't booked and feel there should be a better system in place for those who had booked. Pleasant welcome once we got to the front and sat where we asked to sit. Although the queue for lunch was long, we were quickly served. All food was delicious although some of the veg was only lukewarm.

Absolutely awful! We visited on a Sunday when it is more expensive as well - never again! The only good thing was the wine - meat had pockets of blood in it, Yorkshire pudding I was given was smaller than a quarter of the size of anyone else’s, the gravy was like water, there were barely any sauces as most of the bowls were scraped empty and the vegetables I had were cold. Have been there previously many times and it’s always been lovely and whilst it was busy I’ve been there when it has been much busier and had no problems. Tried to ask our waitress for the bill and she totally blanked us as she knew we were going to complain about the food. Gave up in the end and had to go to the bar to pay. We were thinking of booking for Christmas for eight of us but that’s definitely not going to happen now!

Comfortable and relaxed. Food was good and in abundance. Staff are very accommodating. Busy day but still managed to get a parking space.

Nice welcome at entrance. Happy with table location. We all had the carvery. Very very good. Massive yorkshire puddings, all meats were tasty, good selection of veg. Only disappointment for me was the cauliflower cheese (was a bit hard and not at all cheesy). However we all enjoyed our night out very much and enjoyed our meals.
