Afternoon tea with family and friends Annually go to a different hotel but the first time here Saturday 11th January, 2.15pm for 6 people Staff so polite, food delicious and gave us extra Outstanding

A friend and I went for lunch prior to a treatment in Schmoo. The menu was extremely boring mostly sandwiches or small bites. The cost was very high…My friend had the chicken club at £16 and she only ate the lettuce and tomato, the chicken and bacon were so over cooked they were inedible, apparently the chutney was nice though. I had the toasted cheese sandwich which was so greasy and tasteless I it was horrid. The gherkin was tasty admittedly. We complained to the manager who dealt with it efficiently and did give us a discount however apparently these are the most popular dishes which makes me wonder if we were just there on an extremely bad day.

We booked a table on line expecting a restaurant with a separate restaurant menu. We found that it was a large restaurant area with dining tables but the menu was both the bar menu and a very small restaurant menu. There was no hostess stand so we ended up wondering around trying to find where the restaurant was, we realised we were already there!! The staff were efficient and pleasant. The food was very good, we had fish and chips, the fish was delicious and very fresh. Desert was nice sticky toffee pudding, but the eton mess was dry. There were a lot of families staying there and the children were very irritating, screaming and running round, i know this be is out of their hands but a “child friendly area” might be an idea.

We had some drinks and breakfast here as guests of the hotel. The bar service was below average and breakfast itself was very plain for a Hilton.

Absolutely the worse afternoon tea we have ever experienced. Wandered round the building from reception to bar, bar to restaurant and then back to reception who directed us back to the bar just to find where Coopers was, finally, after not one member of staff knew where exactly we were having our afternoon tea we were given our choice of where to sit. The young gentleman serving us couldn’t care less, we think he couldn’t wait to finish his shift! He didn’t bring us our tea, we ended up having to ask for it, One Scone per person! Usually our other afternoon teas in the past have included one plain & one fruit scone. There were 3 of us but only 2 small jars of jam? Would not recommend this place to anyone I know, there are so many other places to visit and have a much better experience.
