Tucked into the small roads around Russell Square, this cafe is a quiet haven away from the bustle of central London. On a warm day, there was a breeze running through the cafe, and we were able to relax and take our time over lunch together. I had scrambled eggs on sourdough - soft, delicious and a generous helping. Lots of options to choose from, catering also to vegan diners. Do be aware that the bathroom facilities here are downstairs, so access may be difficult for some.

Great atmosphere and coffee in this cafe tucked away in one of London's best central areas. Didn't have time to eat but the food looks excellent too. Maybe next time. Dress trendy and have a statement beard if you want to blend in.

Really good coffee, bought from local roasters. Everything, from their americano to the cold brew is worth to check. Nice pastries and quite a delicious set of brunch options to try. Good wi-fi if you want to study/work and nice tables outside if you wanna see people passing by.

I have been to Continental Stores quite a few times the last few months and couldn't recommend it enough. You pay the same amount of money as other cafes, but the difference is the quality and quantity. The avocado and eggs on toast is massive - I couldn't finish it! There's lots of avocado (approximately 2) and that's something you won't find anywhere else. The coffee is quite strong for my taste so I usually for the iced late option or fresh orange juice... And of course, I left the best part for the end: pear pancakes. You MUST try it. See photo attached!

Really friendly staff with a great sense of humour serve up lovely coffees and brunches in timely fashion. Scrambled eggs were SO yellow on thick slices of sourdough toast and my friend got a mountain of avocado on her toast. Can get a good basic brunch or interesting specials like pancake with chai pear compote. London prices but have had a lot worse for the same price! Laid-back vibe (white, minimalist interior); benches can be a bit uncomfortable but some lovely window seats and outdoor tables too. Can be a quiet escape from busy Bloomsbury. Cakes and cookies always look good! Would recommend.

My friend and I arrived at around 10.20am this morning. I ordered avocado on toast, orange juice and a coffee, she ordered toast with eggs and tomato and a coffee (we spent approximately £11 each. The orange juice and coffees came out in about 10 minutes and the OJ was great and the coffees were quite good. A small serving of avocado on two pieces of toast arrived about another 15 minutes later. Waiting for my friend's meal, I did not start. After waiting another 15 minutes for her meal (come on people, eggs on toast is not that hard), I had to return my plate to the kitchen as the toast was stone cold. I was told to come back and tell them when I wanted it hot...I said that could i just have it when my friend had her meal, and was again told to come back and say when I wanted it hot. After another 15 minutes we again (as did the table next to us) ask about our order. It was brought out another 5 minutes later. All in all, we waited an hour for avocado and eggs on toast, as did the table next to us. The food was fine, nothing to write home about. Also strangely it seemed as there was not enough salt and pepper for each table, as we had to keep having it removed and returned by the waitress. The only saving grace was the offer of a free round of coffees as an apology, which we also had to remind them about. NOT the quick, easy brunch my friend and I were after. I probably won't be going back.

If you're an Italian in London, you know you are going to have a hard time finding good food. Moreover, you're Italian, so you're naturally picky when it comes to cuisine. You only have to be very lucky, which happens to be the case for Continental Stores. I was there for two days in a row with my friends and I had one of the best Americano coffee I've ever had (to be honest, I only had Americano coffee twice, one being that of Continental Stores: as a rule, I only have what foreigners call "espresso", because I'm Italian). Pain-au-chocolat pastry was very OK. One much-welcomed treat was the tap water completely free-of-charge: you have access to a tap and you can help yourself to as many glasses of fresh tap water as you like. That's especially a boon if you spend the night out in London and in the morning don't have the chance to drink non-alcoholic beverages. The icing on the cake: one of the waiters was an enchanting Spanish lady who happened to have a smattering of Italian. I recommend it thoroughly.

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.

Opened last year or early this year..very pleasant and airy bar / cafe, which if you're arriving early for a meeting or finishing early, is a nice place to chew over the errors in your recent ritual meeting! As usual in London all a bit pricey but very convenient after a meeting in the Temples. Very bright and tastefully decorated with the usual good staff.
