Constitution in Camden

Loved it. I haven't been back in over 14 years or so having been a regular in the past. I was surprised to see the face-lift and extension and though not the same vibe as before, it is a pleasant, relaxing space. Staff were very helpful and the food was good. The outside patio looked great.

A Young's Brewery pub with a canal side terrace. Ale was good. Didn't try the food.

Found The Constitution while walking along the canal from King's Cross to Camden. The pub/restaurant is overlooking the canal with plenty of outside seating. The pub is spread over three floors and is very friendly. Drinks are a reasonable price for London, the food looked good also. Will be trying the food on my next visit. Nice pleasant pub/restaurant to visit before walking into the Camden. I highly recommend.

The environment is nice for a small group of friends, but a bit on the noisy side. Pints are a bit pricey and food is definitely overpriced, £18 for an average burger you can finish in three bites and a tiny portion of chip, not again unless the Labour government is bringing our economy back.

The Constitution is a lovely addition to the Camden neighbourhood. In fact, the only decent low key vibe in the area. Absolutely fabulous burger. Service top notch. Highly rated.

Pre-booked for a 10-person birthday party for Sunday roast. We arrived and ordered drinks, only when attempting to order food we were told that the food wait was over two hours. Sure, sunday roast service is stressful, but we would have not paid for a round of drinks if we were told beforehand nor if we had not paid large holding fee for a no-show. There was no attempt by the manager to keep our custom apart from some apologies, this was a birthday party, that was simply not enough. There was no priority for us despite multiple attempts at calling before-hand with no response. What were we meant to do? Find a sunday roast walk-in because of their inability to communicate beforehand? Absolutely atrocious service, coming from a fellow pub worker - no manger would have ever let this happen.

We prebooked the pub with a £45 holding fee, which was then accepted, for food. When we arrived we ordered a round of drinks, they brought us menus, and then only when we attempted to order food (45 mins later) did they tell us food was 2 hrs away. Didn't tell us before we ordered drinks or when they brought us menus and didn't tell us beforehand. We attempted to call twice beforehand to make sure the booking was confirmed with no answer. We shouldve been told the situation before buying food, or drinks, felt like we werent told about the food situation until after we gave money for drink. Ruined my friends 21st bday

We had an amazing experience at the Constitution . Great food , very different from any other London pub and yet tasty well dressed and great menu selections . The service was 10/10 and nothing took forever to arrive at the table even though its was a Saturday afternoon. Thrasos , the guy who served us was very helpful too advising us on the choices .

No familiar with the area and was doing an evening walk from Paddington to Kings Cross along the canal. Saw the garden area all lit up so stopped off for a drink. Lovely atmosphere inside. We sat outside as the sky that night was beautiful. Paid typical London rates for our beer and prosecco. We didnt eat but the menu looked great. Will return for a summers evening one day again.

We really like this pub since it’s fantastic refurb. Transformed from nasty dive boozer to a beautifully restored London pub. Nice staff. Nice atmosphere. We had Sunday lunch with group of friends this weekend. The food is very tasty BUT the portions are REALLY mean. Probably the smallest roast you can get anywhere. 2 potatoes, three small slices of beef, a Yorkshire pudding, one bit of kale and a slice of carrot. And the treacle tart we had for pudding was 2.5cm wide at the crust end. The prices are easily high enough to justify a fair portion of food. We were properly disappointed. Sunday lunch isn’t fussy fine dining. It’s about a pint or some wine and a big plate of comfort food.

Mixed review we went 6 weeks ago and had an amazing Sunday Roast so booked again for last Sunday to bring friends visiting London. We booked this 5 weeks in advance. An hour before our booking we get a call to say there is no Sunday Roast left as they have had more walk ins than expected. We panic rang around lots of places but obviously everywhere full so last minute. We tried calling back to see what food they could serve and only on the 15th try of calling did we manage to get through to someone. The woman was extremely rude on the phone. When we arrived I spoke to the manager on shift who was very nice but didn’t really understand or acknowledge the unnecessary stress they had caused. And wouldn’t address the issue about the phone call. There was only one option to eat so we took that, it was pleasant but no where near as nice as our first visit. We paid the service charge on the bill but to add insult to injury when we came to pay the staff tried twice to add additional service charge, if anything it should have been removed completely. The customer service needs addressing and need to be able to feed the tables that are booked in advance.

I believe that both for the quality of the dishes and the service, also a place in a nice location and well looked after inside, my rating is very high and I will definitely return if I have the opportunity.

Lovely pub, great food and really friendly helpful staff. Was really quiet as we were there at 6 so the bustle had been and gone. Will definitely go again. Perfect spot for the summer as the whole place opens up to the canal.

Great location, lovely building, nice drinks. The menu looks good too. I also appreciated the service. I imagine it's great on a sunny, warm (or warmish) day, but it was pretty quiet on a freezing Sunday evening, and the music was too loud and often quite irritating (a lot of the music wasn't great).

Best vegan supper club in town! Better than the vegan spot down the street!! The chef here understood the assignment AND did the extra credit homework! Wonderful atmosphere and the staff is so warm and friendly.

I was here last Sunday with two Italian friends for Sunday roast: OMG, it was delightful! The food was top notch, the table staff were like God, and the ambience was bright, calm yet vibrant, with a casual sophistication we all loved. I can't wait to return in the warmer weather and try the outdoor areas!

I used to come here years ago for gig in the downstairs room. The refurb here has been done brilliantly, so much more space for the customers, including an upstairs bar and terrace which can be opened up in the Summer. Lovely staff, delicious food (I had the spiced halibut) and a great choice of beers on tap and in bottles. They even have an alcohol free beer on draught.

Very nicely refurbished pub. Beautifully designed. Staff super helpful and kind. Prices pint of Peroni around £7, food meal around £18 but I'd say posh end of serving. Outside sitting available.

I went there in early December on the recommendation of the owner of a Korean bed and breakfast! There was a Sunday in my travel itinerary, so I went and ate with the guests at the guesthouse. I think I would have regretted it if I hadn’t come! If you are alone, get a companion and be sure to eat the Sunday roast! I also went with the guests and ordered and ate the Sunday roast menu. It was a really good time and a good meal. The atmosphere of the store was also good😋

Great place. Loads of seating. And the people are really nice. Does close their terrace area at 10 and pub at 12 but other than that the vibes are great. Good on price as well. £8 for a pint

The service was excellent, the atmosphere was good but the food sadly did not match our expectations at that price. The not-so spiced halibut was planted on a sea of watery orzo and the steak was chewy. The rhubarb dessert had very little crumb.

What a delightful location! Nestled perfectly between Camden and Kings Cross, it’s the ideal spot for enjoying a drink and some delicious food. The atmosphere is simply fantastic! Imagine sitting outdoors, basking in the sunshine while taking in the lovely views of the Canal. It’s a joyful experience that’s hard to beat!

I've become somewhat of a regular at The Constitution, and it's definitely my favourite spot, without a doubt of one Youngs 'go to' venues. I absolutely love what the company has done with the place. Stefano, in particular, is an excellent team member, gave me and my partner more than satisfactory service each and every time we have visited, not just being polite, but attentive to each table and it's individual needs.

The food and drinks are amazing, and the staff are all really kind and friendly.

I had the best experience coming in yesterday, the waitress amelia was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. i ordered the fig gnocchi which amelia had recommended to me and i have to say it was beyond amazing what a great dish! I would recommend this place to anyone walking along the canal or in the area, staff are great and food is delightful !

Tenía muchas esperanzas para mi almuerzo de Navidad aquí con mi amigo. Ambos somos amantes de la gastronomía y del vino tinto (mi amigo trabaja en el comercio del vino). We had a most enjoyable lunch. The food was very good - an interesting menu featuring lots of fish. But the highlight was our waiter Wilkins whose cheerful service, attentiveness and excellent banter elevated this meal from just a pub lunch with friends to a hugely fun and entertaining outing. Six stars for him!!

This week we hosted my work’s Christmas party at the Constitution and they made it into something really special. The staff team was fantastic and went above and beyond. They set up beautiful decorations and gave us space to host our own pub quiz. Food was also a highlight of the evening and everyone raved about it. Can’t recommend them enough!

Awesome sunday roast Decent pint

My friend and I came here yesterday for his birthday lunch. It’s a Monday - pretty quiet as expected but, what was disappointing is immediately being told on the menu there were several options unavailable. Fair - it was a little later in the afternoon. The sourdough bread with tarragon and chicken skin butter - yup, off to a good start. We shared a bottle of the Cloof Inkspot wine - another great option and a good price. Mains, I had spiced halibut and my friend had the nduja pork t-bone - we were both happy… it all went downhill from there though. Plates cleared, no dessert menus or extra drinks offered. After 15 mins we spotted the order to your table function - we ordered a cocktail plus a Tarte tatin. I also want to add at this point, the Gimlet my friend wanted was greyed out. Fair - we chose a French 75. A further extensive wait I heard murmuring from the bar who didn’t understand the order because the table number we had on our table - didn’t correlate with the actual table number… pretty basic stuff. I was then told there were no desserts available bar the cheese board. For a Monday afternoon this was pretty poor. And, to add none of the dessert options greyed out. The staff were pretty nonchalant and tbf it’s left a disappointing taste after what was a lovely main.

I had the tomahawk sharer and it was to die for!! Definitely the best roast dinners here. Stef and Kieran provided the most amazing and attentive service. Will be coming back for sure

My friend and I had an amazing afternoon/evening in the Constitution. Our waiter Wilkin really knew the wines and the menu and was very attentive. The food was great and the variety of wines was great. We will definitely be coming back!

We had a fabulous Sunday lunch , and there was lots of choice , I had the artichoke tempura, beetroot vegan feta Wellington, and fondant with blood orange icecream. The service was excellent and a good choice of wines at reasonable prices. We were all happy with our meal.

I posted 1* in error so have amended it to the 5* it deserves. This is a fabulous pub on the Canal Towpath which has been done up beautifully with great inside and outside space. The staff are lovely and the food delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.

The place is wonderful and the food is very good. I am also very grateful to Ben, the manager of the place, who helped me and my daughters in a difficult moment. Ben is a truly welcoming, generous and selfless person. We will definitely come back to visit him when we are in London again.

Ran out of roasts, but did call ahead to let us know. Ordering took a long time. We ordered a bottle of wine which was forgotten about. We asked for tap water which was forgotten about. We ordered food from the very limited options left without roasts, and were told they had now also run out of one of the main’s, leaving three options on the menu. Out of everything we wanted, there were no roasts, no Bloody Mary ‘mix’ (not sure why this couldn’t just be made fresh), they ran out of burgers, ran out of some of the desserts. There seemed to be lots of negotiation with the kitchen around what desserts were available. Service was incredibly slow despite it not being busy. You get forgotten in the upstairs dining room. Nobody checked on how our food was or asked if we wanted drinks or desserts. We had to ask twice for almost everything and go and find someone, as the staff were standing around talking outside the dining room near the till area. One of the young waiters was kind and funny, but otherwise, service was shambolic. A real shame as we were looking forward to celebrating a birthday. The food we did get was mostly good though.

We stopped here because we didn't have time to walk all the way from King's Cross to Camden, and I'm very happy we did. The food was excellent. A bit pricey, but it's central London, so that's to be expected. Service was casual and friendly. I definitely recommend this place for food, drinks, and get-togethers.

Thank you to all the staff at The Constitution who made our event such a memorable occasion. Great location and ideal layout worked really well for our group of 50 or so, and a couple of dogs too. We had such an incredible Sunday roast here that we booked our Christmas meal before we even finished our plates. Every single dish on our plates were very well executed. Particularly obsessed with the pork crackling and truffled cauliflower cheese. Can’t wait to come back!

Went to the Constitution for dinner and drinks and the experience was excellent! The food was amazing and the cocktails really good,I sticked with my beer on the other hand and the staff was friendly and on top of their game. The pub was full and the music helped the night go smoothly! What a night!

So many booked tables. Got moved about because people with bookings finally turned up (after time tables were reserved). Staff member moved us upstairs to a less than optimal spot next to a whole bank of reserved tables and the entire party who had reserved the table never even sat down !

I’ve had a great time coming in with my friend for some food and drink. We’ve been looked after by Anna and Stef they’ve been really friendly with big smiles! The cheese burger and fries arrived quick and hot and was amazing. Had a great chat with the staff before we left and got a nice and warm goodbye before leaving. Will be back for more food and drinks hopefully with more friends 10/10!
